My experiences have usually been afternoon nap induced and I have been having them for a while. While I have no problem getting out of my body, after years of trying I still can't get the hang of moving around and seeing. Today my astral body felt heavy and I pulled back to my body involuntarily. I usually try to go away from my body by going outside my astral house, but then everything gets hazy. Sometimes I can "run" and then other times it is like I'm a toddler in the astral world and I just bounce in to things and fall. I have tried many times to clear my vision, by telling myself to "see" and things like that, but have had no luck. Do you guys think it is a matter of believing I can, or is it maybe an energy thing?

I have been having these experiences for about ten years now and I am anxious to finally ask some questions. I usually have these experiences in the afternoon when I nap. I am usually slightly awakened by intense vibrations and feel myself to be leaving my body ( at first I thought these where just dreams of astral projection) I usually think that I am in real time except the lighting is different, it usually appears dark or at sunset. I am usually in my house trying to move around, usually everything appears like it does in my waking conciousness, but sometimes some things are different. I have seen and petted my deceased dog and many times seen vortexes. Sometimes these vortexes are going underground and sometimes they are in the side of walls. Once I felt something pulling at my ankles, and another time I felt a hand on my lower back. Occasionally I am dreaming at the same time. I have never been able to induce a concious OOBE. I have tried many techniques for clearer vision during these OOBE or AP's, but nothing seems to work. I know these are alot of questions, but this is the first time I have been able to talk with others who knowledgable about this. Can someone please help?

The vortexes were like ones I've seen in science fiction shows, one was was about 5ft in diameter and the others were about 2 ft wide. They were all moving in a circular swirling motion not sure what direction, but they were going in a direction. They were fluid in feeling. Seems like I had read something about them and then began having the experience, so the belief theory seems to make sense to me.

Thanks for responding guys, I'm so glad I finally have people to talk to about this. In reference to my previous question the vortexes I see are round, one was in the side of a wall and colorful, and I felt like someone was pulling me in and I got scared and went back to my body. The other times the vortex was black and white and going underground. My question is that if the vortex is going underground does that mean that I would be going to a "lower plane"?

Well I havn't done much energy work, but I have noticed that when I am feeling strong sexual energy I have more experiences. In one projection I felt something touch my lower back and I felt that chakra vibrate and swirl very intensly, which I haven't felt during waking conciousness. I also felt my ankles being pulled by someone ( as crazy as that sounds) during some sort of  projection/virtual AP experience that had alot of sexual elements in it.

I wish I had  experience with energy work like you do, that is what I'm most lacking in. I get the most experiences when I nap in the afternoon on an empty somach. I never try to have these experiences, I just try and sleep. then I am partiallly awakened by the vibrations and then I leave my body, but I am not able to move very effectively and my vision is poor in these experiences. I think this is because I don't have enough energy, I feel heavy during projections. I also have times where I not sure if is a dream or not. I sometimes think that I am dreaming and projecting at the same time.

Your experience sounds alot like what I've experienced, for years I have tried to figure out if these experiences are wishful dreams or the real thing, (what ever that is). I think the experience is essentially the same for everyone, but to different degrees. I also think it is a skill that is developed over time. I to have had componets of the experience that were not exactly like waking reality, like furniture that was different than is currently in my house and often times ithe sky will be dark during a projection, but in reality it is daytime outside. I also have trouble moving around and seeing, but I think it's a great thing just to be able to have any kind of alternate reality experience.
