Welcome to Magic! / Summary of Magical "Schools"

"Yes way" magic still exists.  You need to understand the term magic.  I am all to familiar with "energy" as it is an integral part of Magic.

Grey Magic may be defined as:
Magic or magick is the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with the Will using means not currently understood by Western science, (Which makes magic the science of the future.) for the purpose of causing either physical or non-physical good to yourself or others and is done either consciously or unconsciously.

Black magic is the same only is for the purpose of causing harm to someone.

White magic is similar but the goal is more to gain knowledge of the Angelic realm.

Hope this helps.

I use the Middle Pillar Exercise found in most ritual magic books.  It is a variation of chakra development using only 5 chakras.  In the 25 years or so that I have been APing I have found this method has worked best for me.  You not only raise your energy but also you gain a greater ability to AP just about when ever you want to.

Sure you can learn magic.  The magical arts are as old as the hills,  highly developed and refined.

A thread regarding Magic and Christianity has somehow digressed into a debate regarding, first the validity of the historicity of a predominantly Christian presupposition and world view, at the time of the US founding, which is irrefutable and now perhaps what one would call a comparative religions debate.  I can only say that both topics which are outside the original question should be addressed in their own threads.

I am new to this forum but I am certain there have been many discussions on the divisions of the Astral Planes, High, Low, etc.  But when you crossover to the Otherworld you don't want to get too "at home" there as you may loss track of returning to the reality of the physical plane.

However, in the 25 plus years I have been projecting I have never had a problem, but I have run into those who have.  Error on the side of caution I suppose.

Kitchen magic, sexual magic and vampiric magic all find there homes in the magical castes already mentioned.  There are not castes in and of themselves.

The question of Direct Magic and how it is best described as it compares  to Ritual Magic.  Where as the castes exist in both there are elaborate rites or rituals one goes through to accomplish one's magical goal.  Direct Magic dispenses with the ritual and goes right to the task at hand.

If you are interested there an entire web site devoted to Direct Magic that is The Library of Knowledge http://www.angelfire.com/mi3/tomekeeper/index.html

I don't know why you would say the founding fathers thought Christianity was ridiculous, that certainly was not true.  In our day we have little notion how Christianity permeated every aspect of the US society in the late 18th Century.  Any objective study of the era would show this.  However, there were a few that were what we would call Deists; such as Franklin and Jefferson, but they were both ranking members of the Illuminati  and you don't belong to that group without a profound belief in the Spirit world and God.  I can assure you that none of them were atheists, as atheism was very rare at that time frame.  With a few exceptions, of course, mostly among some of the European intellectuals.

Whether Druidic , Wicca, Hermetic, Thelmetic, Qabalistic or Direct Magic, these schools use any one or more of the following categories of magic:

Black Magic
Celestial Magic
Death Magic
Divination
Elemental Magic
Enchanting
Life Magic
Nature Magic
Psi Magic
Satanic Magic
Sorcery
Summoning
White Magic
Wizardry

I hope this helps.

Of course names and terms matter or you would never be able to distinguish one thing from another or one place or another.   If someone wanted to go to Paris you wouldn't send them to a no name big city; you would never get to your destination.  Specifics matter.  This is not an argument only a clarification. As Spinoza said 'if we are going to communicate let us define our terms.'

It sounds to me like you are talking about the astral city of Falias.   If you ever make it to this place a guide will take you to the center of the city where there is a great stone building.  Just inside of the entrance is what is called the Stone of Fal.  This giant stone blocks the passage into the building.  Your guide will tell you to say to the stone what your motives are for wanting entrance into the building.  You can not lie and must answer sincerely why you have come.  If you answer correctly the stone will move and you can enter the hall where you will find a vast library; a repository of knowledge of both our world and the Otherworld.  You will also find Morfesa who is a great teacher.  Morfesa they say appears differently to those he encounters.   Ask him what you will he will answer you questions. However , you may not understand everything he tells you.  Once you learn how to journey to Falias you can return as often as you are able.  Never stay too long.  This maybe what some have refered to as Hall of AR. The AR is not a library that can be visited in the Astral.  It is the theory/idea that all human events are recorded.  Jung based some of his studies on this idea.  There are archives in the Astral but not the so called AR.

The new quantum physics called the Zero Point Field, (ZPF), has a perfect explanation for Akashic Records. The understanding of the ZPF is revolutionary.  But for the purpose of this thread the new understanding of memory is that your memory is not stored in your mind or body but all events are stored in the Field and your mind is only an access tool.

This also helps explain what people have mistaken for memories of past lives with accessing the "Record" in the Field. This also helps explain how precognition works as one has the ability to access future events already recorded in the Field.

I am a Christian and studied theology formally.  I am also have been a practicing magician for many years.  Any quick study of High Magic will show you that the Pioneers of groups like the Golden Dawn  many were Christians, all were theistic based.

Celestial Magic is primarily practiced by Christians. Check out //the%20politics%20of%20nonbeing web site.  A study of the Qabalah shows it is based in Jewish mysticism which is part of the Judeo/Christian history.  Many of the great people of history where Christians and magicians, such as Sir Issac Newton or Lord Francis Bacon, etc. Saying you want to be a Christian witch is off the mark as modern witchcraft is primarily Wicca and is pagan based.  But being a Christian does not preclude you from studying magic. There are areas in magic that you should avoid, which is true of so many things, you have to seperate the wheat from the tares. So don't give up you are in good company.

I am an Astral traveler and practitioner of High Magic.  Look forward to seeing what is going on in this site.  I will say that this forum format is identical to the Library of Knowledge Forum so I can only assume there is a connection of some sorts.(?)
