I am not aware of anyone trying to hack the site.  :?

As much as I dislike highly opinionated posts, that is no reason to ban several key members of the site which had spent several years, in one case half a decade, of their lives working on. This in addition to people's concerns being deleted and hidden by managment and the controversial ownership and systemization of the site had sparked the rebellion. Rightfuly so in my opinion.

Astral societies authors and members where treated with abhorrent behavior by the owner. Hopefuly, the new site will rebuild the community as it once was. A community run as a community.

Feel free to stop by and say hello anytime.

That sounds about right.

This website shows the time in capital, it's called the world clock.
Eastern time is the Toronto time. On the bottom right.

BRIEF MIND PROJECTION

This technique revolves around the basic idea of a spontaneous projection. Throughout the night, as the sleep cycles end and repeat themselves there is a brief moment of consciousness which nearly resembles that during waking life. With enough subconscious enforcement, the mind can learn to take advantage of this state. If you can build the intention of out of body travel strong enough within your subconscious, your mind can take focus during the brief moment in between sleep cycles. Your body will already be relaxed and at the border of deep trance and the exit can happen within seconds of this realisation.

Yeah, it is probably a million yen.

Hello okokio,

My take on the situation is, if you aren't sure your are having an out of body experience, then you are not having one. It is a very unique situation to find yourself in, when it happens you will know.

Robert Bruce in his treatise on astral projection, which is free online by the way, warns you to not mistake sensations which can be atributed with a light trance, such as the one you described, as an out of body sensation.

When the body enters trance and it begins to enter the early stages of paralysis, you may experience very strange swelling sensations because that part of the brain thats telling you where your body is, checked out for the night.

Goodluck with your attempts!

Hello!

Often a state restlessness during sleep can invoke the ideal conditions for having an out of body experience. When you are awake for so many hours this will often lead you to become concsious during a hypogognic state. That is why sometimes, when we have a fever during the night, we can experience a number of strange sensations, attributed to hypnogognic hallucinations. If your body continues to fall asleep from this state, it is very likely your mind can muster enough concsiousnous to have a projection.

Sickness can also promote out of body experiences because it can awake you DURING a deep sleep state. Similarily to the 'sleep intrupt' method.

It is very likely what you experiences was an early faze of an out of body experience. However, some aspects could be attibuted to the hypnogognic state. I think you know the answer. Was in an out of body experience?

QuoteI've dl that and installed it to my computer. But one thing is troubles me? How do I use it?

Good question. It took me ages to figure it out.

Ok, open your sbagen-1.4.2 folder.
Then open the file called "START.command".
A terminal should pop up and below the welcome it should ahve a list of commands.
The one you need is:
ls *.sbg                    # list all sequence files
So type in Is *.sgb and a list of all the sound files will apear.
They all very but my personal favorite at the moment is "focus-10-b.sbg" because it gets your brian waves ready for delta sleep, and it lasts all night.
To play it we will type in "sbagen" followed by the name of the file.
sbagen focus-10-b.sbg
Press enter
And listen away. Make sure you use stereo head phones.

  :-D

It may be a bit different on your computer cause I use a mac.

I don't see any problem with the same topics comming up over and over again. Because, with them, new people join the forums, and new ideas are shared as well.

Just as a discussion on American politics would change every few months or so, I guarantee not one of those is exactly alike.

There are always ways to prove astral projection.
Robert Monroe did  some interesting tests on the matter. Putting objects in one room, and projecting in  another. Or the owner of astralvoyage.com for instance, apparantly used out of body projection to win the lottery. That would be proof enough for me!

I've been attacked by a dog. I think it was my neigbours.
He grabbed my arms and didn't let me travel. I had trouble fighting him off me.

I also had a run in with what people would call a "sucubus", but I don't believe in those.
I exited, and this thing barged in my room, all horror show. To make things worse looked like my mother, only grey and with a excrement load of teeth. It ran towards me and started groping and such. Then I was snapped back awake. Very unique from my experiences with 'thought forms'. It appeared to have life of its own. Like the dog did. There was alot of spontinuity to their actions. Very peculiar.

I would not be affraid of anything out of body. You pull the strings out there. You have the power! *power up* Whoa!

This free open source program should fill your every need:

I've never used binaural beats until I used this a few days ago, and it's been working well. It can get you into light trance very quickly.

I just browsed through Randi's entire website and I think he hads a nice point when he said:
"Extraordinary abilities require extraordinary proof." Or something along those lines.

Many people on forums such as these say they can indeed do these things, but very few have done them under controlled circumstances. The irony of it is, many of them say they can do these things quite easily and sufficiantly, but they don't.

I myself have been practising out of body projection for two years and I have had a plathora of conscious projections. And, from personal experience, I think it is VERY likely that the entire experience is fabricated by the mind. Although, with this in consideration, it is still a fantasticly fun thing to do.

I've done many tests for finding people, lottery numbers, cards upside down on a desk, but not of them give sufficiant proof that the phenomena is real. Even in the stickied topic full of 'validations', all of these in my opinion have a large likelyhood of having happend through non-paranormal means.

I am very open to the possibility that some of this is real, perhaps to open, because the scale weighs the other way.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Duality

It is very common to lose your 'dream control' when you gain lucidity. Your mind has many predispositions on how it has to function in a space. When you are in a dream, your mind takes these predispositions with it. Subconsciously your mind thinks there is gravity. This annoying detail can also cause problems during projections. You may find yourself not being able to go through walls, or fly through windows. But, in truth, anything is possible. "There is no spoon!"  :-D

As for the exit, I would investigate using some specific exit techniques. For beginners, I recommend the roll out technique. Gather all your wits about you, and ROLL! It works great.
The more you exit, the easier it will become. And before you know it, you won't need to roll like an idiot anymore.

If you ever find yourself without any vision, a common thing to try is to use 'commands' such as "CLARITY NOW!" or "VISION NOW!". Don't say please, just demand it! Or what I do is I just picture my eyes opening.

Is it a sculpture of a cat? -first thing that came to mind

My best validation experience?
One time I exited my body, walked across the hall and noticed my dad in the bathroom.
I awoke, and found that he was indeed inside the bathroom.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / UNDER 18 AP goers

Hello, my name is Fil. I am sixteen and I successfully had eleven projections so far.

I got interested in it almost a year ago after reading a book on Buddhism. I noticed the author mention something about astral projection. I got interested and I looked it up on the Internet. I emediety started meditating and attempting projections and here I am. Eager to justify my existence with O.B.E.s.

Well, I'll try to describe my experiences as best as I can.

Everything about it feels real, you know you are not dreaming but it bares little resemblance to real life.

When I first exited everything was dark and mercy, but my vision was very broad.  I had no body and I had a lot of difficulty moving. I call it the "slow motion drunk effect". I could only move so far.

Just imagine trying to pick something up with your hands having none. You move by just thinking I want to move forward but with out using words.

My mind was clear and I had control, however I was to exited to think rationally. It is hard to focus on a task. Everything looks and feels different.

I did not sense my real body the first time. I remember thinking about my body thou, and as soon as it happened I was back in it in a flash. There definitely was that connection. Right after it happens you just fill with energy and euphoria. You will sit their through the night smiling until dawn. There is no way you will fall back to sleep.

So to answer you're question:
I seriously doubt you will mistake it for a dream. However, you can fall into a dream during the projection. This happens to me almost every time, it was what I am currently working on.

The dreams themselves are amazingly lucid and I awake soon after with no problems recalling what happened but it makes it difficult to organize your thoughts.

Hope that helped you.  :?

I use falling asleep to my advantage. I am not experienced enough in mediation so I can never get deep enough to trigger an out of body experience. However, I found that if I meditate myself to sleep with enough determination and intention to project I wake up with vibrations.

All you need is determination. If your will is strong enough something will happen. Good luck.

Do you put a lot of focus into your legs? It could be just you getting more aware of them or their energy. I get pressure feelings whenever I focus on a certain place or chakra but I cant say for sure that that is what you are feeling.

That's my two pesos.
#22
My first experience with vibrations was the same as yours. Just note that your heart was not pounding, you heart chakra was vibrating. If feels like you heart will rip out but in fact it has nothing to do with it.

I did the same thing as you, "turn over and go to sleep". It scared we when it happened, but if you practice with it and play with the feeling you are on the right path to projection in my opinion.
#23
I've projected six times and on every account I got to that state by meditating for a long period of time and eventually falling asleep.

My meditation consists of relaxing, chakra work, and visualization.

Because my huge intension to project is there I make myself wake up as strange as it sounds, and when I do awake every time I am greeted with vibrations. If I have more intent they are stronger, and less the opposite.

I am comfortable with this method. I am not strong when it comes to meditation and I still need work with it. So falling asleep and waking up gets me deeper then I possibly could.

Some times I have a problem where I fall into a lucid dream during a projection, but I usually recall everything as clear as crystal. YOu don't forget such an experience as that. There is not way I will fall back to sleep after a projection.

Every thing you described appear to be symptoms to what me and a lot of other people who have had a conscious out of body experience.

That feeling you get that you described as the "yawning feeling" is often what I get during vibrations. To be honest, it is safe to say I always get that during vibrations.

The noises are common and often come before an actual projection. People report hearing static, loud noises, the radio, even screaming.
These noises get scary but you should ignore them.

I get the "fuzzy" eye sight as well, and I remember seeing those "lightning bolts". Don't be scared of these, it just means things are happening.

As for the scary pulling feeling I have no idea what it could be, however I could guess it is pressure in your chakras. Where does this place seam to originate? Any specific area?
It seams slightly similar to what I experienced, I felt like I had two bodies. Mine, and another fuzzy one kind of moving around even thou I was not. That is the astral body as far as I know, and if I feel that I focus on moving it away from my body. Before I know it, there I am beside my bed and my actual body behind me.

I forgot to mention, you said you have an extremely high heart beat, and I don't think that is what it is. I think those are vibrations in your heart chakra.

Next time you experience these effect just focus on them. Concentrate, and realize you are not the only person that experiences these. That adds a lot of comfort gets rid of some of that pesky fear as well.

Hello,

I am sixteen and I've been interested in the metaphysical for around six months. I have successfully had my first projection just two weeks ago, and I have had 2 more since. I am currently a member in Astral Society forums but I feel I want to expand my knowledge on several subjects revolving projecting and what better way then to sign up here.

Pleased to meet you all! *high five*
