Being a novice, is it wrong trying to achieve the state of mind where you begin to see Hypnogogic Imagery?

When I go to bed at night, I try to look at the blackness of my closed lids long enough while keeping my mind clear from distracting thoughts, which is difficult. Is this the right procedure or do you have any corrections/additional tips/advices ?

What to do when I begin to see colors/mist and my eyes want to open automatically?

Thanks in advance,
Nils

What if I want to put my body asleep? Won't the movement stop me from sinking into trance or just break my trance?

@Alex:
I started my "3rd Eye-practice" a few days ago, so I think I am expecting too much for the moment. I got time when I am sitting in train or bus to or from work, so I use it for my Third Eye-Training.

Another question: To see the Hypnogogic Imagery, is it sufficient to look at the blackness of my eyelids long enough or do I need to "switch" to my 3rd Eye? When I start to see colors/mist and the like my eyes want to open automatically and if I want to keep them closed, all I see is blackness again.

Thanks for your helpful answers, Alex & Nostic  :)

Hello,

when trying to meditate I often got distracted by itching sensations (e.g. from my nose, hair etc.). Well, to make that clear, I DO wash myself daily  and I don't got fleas either :P. Any advice on how to deal with these sensations?

Thanks in advance,
Nils

Well, I try to train focusing on my 3rd eye frequently, using the technique which involves "looking" at the 3rd eye with my physical eyes, but my eye muscles are aching due to the stress. What to do about it or ain't I doing it the right way?

Thanks for the reply, Beavis.

I read a few techiques for achieving APs and some say to see with "Third Eye". I just wonder how to do that without using the physical counterparts.

Especially Birms "Triangle" method involves "concentrating" on the Third Eye. It's just difficult for me to concentrate on something I can't locate or feel.

Hello,

I searched the forum for an answer on how to focus on my Third Eye while practicing AP. I found myself using my physical eyes staring at the blackness of my closed lids and sometimes even "looking" cross-eyed at the point between my brows. Could someone give me precise instructions on how to learn to focus on and feel the Third Eye?

Thanks in advance,
Nils

Do you use BWGen at low, moderate or high volume?

I used a rather moderate volume last night but got startled every time a new tone began...I think a will try a lower volume this night.

Hello all!

My name is Nils, I am 31 years old and living in Germany. Since childhood I am fascinated by the astral projection phenomenon, but haven't had OOBE experiences yet. Not that I have not tried, but I have to admit, that there always was some kind of fear. Fear of things I will see on the astral plane (frightening beings), fear of failing and so on. I know they are foolish and needless thoughts, but I can't get rid of them completely.

Sometimes, mostly at weekends, when I wake up in the morning and decide to sleep on, I feel myself fall into conscious paralysis, with a sense of vibration, but don't get any further due to my excitement and fear. Unfortunately, I am not able to create this state of paralysis on my own.

Recently, surfing the WWW, I found an article regarding the Brain Wave Generator-Software. I got curious and decided to get that program. Last night, I tried it using a custom made preset called "Boxed Nirvana" from the library and it worked in the matter of altering my state of mind. For short moments, I could see mist swirling in front of my closed eyes and the other moment I felt my whole body vibrating. Then it vanished, again due to my growing excitement.

In the BWGen forums I found a link to the Astral Pulse forum and I didn't hesitate to join, cause I definitely need any help I can get from experienced Astral Projectors. I am glad I found my way here and I hope I can contribute to the community as well.

Greetings from Germany,
Nils
