My main question was what to do if someone embraces this...specifically a shade, an underworld being of pretty complete negative energy. What to do if someone who is living, tries to shapeshift into one of these beings in order to gain the abilities of the shade?

Thanks shadow_specter for your advice and insight, it is helpful...

Thanks MiddleWay, but I'm being very serious here. Do you have anything to add to this discussion?

I appreciate the humor, but I am looking for real answers.

Thank you for the advice Humbled, I have heeded it well :)

I don't know who the greys are either...something from the book, "The Other Sky"?

Anyhow, I have looked with a medium toothed comb, and here is what I have found about these "Shadow People" my friend has spoken of...

I listened to a very informative interview on these "shadow beings" with Art Bell and Dr. Morgan Spence. She has been studying these beings for 11 years...well she had in 2002 when this interview happened.

It seems that they have used the term as a blanket and that's what is confusing. The term as she and most folks are using it simply means any shadow you see flit by out of the corner of your eye. Art was great at keeping the talk grounded and asked specifically what they were, but Morgan would not commit to anything. She said they could be Negs, Ghosts (as in used to be human, or other species/beings), Spirit/energy vampires, or anything we cannot see completely as they are vibrating in a different frequency.

She said that they reside in one or more of the other 8 dimensions, and can float beck and forth. She said that they can see us easily and they study us to know what we respond to the strongest...this way they can trigger a strong emotion in us to feed off of...Psychic Vampires.
They can disappear depending on their vibration level. They move very quickly compared to us, (which is no surprise.)

The thing that interested me was that they talked about energy levels in the atmosphere (having much to do with the electric things like TV and computer) And now I'm sure that HAARP would have something to add to this. but they said that the electric stuff was slowly breaking down the veil people talk about...opening a doorway.

So that's just a touch of what they talked about. What I see is that it's confusing because they are using it as a blanket term.

We can see the spirit, or feel it, and most of us can already tell if it's good or neg or whatever it may be. Some of us can completely recognize certain types of spirits...so it's confusing because it was sounding like a new kind of being, but it's not. It's new to people who are just raising their awareness that spirit is real.

So, my friend, now he is taking things a step further by embracing what I have always known as a Shade. A shadow being from the underworld.  And he would have me believe that it is a good being, which is the oldest trick in the book..."look into them, if you look right into their throat you will see the light in them" riiight...I am not sure what he will do for energy while he shifts into a shade, but I am not going to get close enough to find out. Shifting into a shade may be the one thing that can truly alter your soul...

There seems to be a great buzz about 'shadow people' going around, and I was wondering if anyone here knows what this really is about.

I received a concerning note from a friend. I have shared dream walks with this friend and then recently he has changed drastically. He has become very argumentative and taken to playing quite mean emotional mind games. I am afraid for him. He seems to be embracing this darkness with open arms...

In his note he said that these shadow people are only dark on the out side, but they have their light inside. He said that he was visited by one last year, and that just a few days ago he shapeshifted into one in dreaming...

He is experienced in shapeshifting, but this frightens me because if you can shapeshift you know that it is more than just a form change...you need to completely embrace the being. What is he embracing? And should I be afraid for myself? He knows my energy and if he is embracing something very negative, they will also know my energy...it's like having someones fingerprint.

If anyone knows about this, can you please let me know?

I think anyone can learn how to do this, but the person on the other end needs to be very aware and know how to feel/see that slight shift in the energy around them...at least if they are awake.

I've always wondered what it was I was doing, but for lack of knowledge everyone who knows me calls it the Soul Phone.

If anyone knows I would love to find out :)

Once my friend A was gone traveling about the country. He had been gone for a very long time and I really wanted to touch base with him.

To make a long story short, going through that
universe of stars, and then the stars swirling all about till the one I'm looking for stops in front of me...then to look into it, the 'door'gets bigger and there is A. He's laying under some trees. The light all about him is greenish like it's coming through
the trees, but I don't know what kind of trees they are. He's chewing on something that he's holding in his hand, I don't know what. Then he looks toward me and squints a bit...

Well, the next day he calls me. "Hi, was that you? What do you want? Is everything ok?" and I ask him, "what kind of trees were those? and what were you chewing on?"...he tells me they were eucalyptus trees, he's in Ca and he was chewing on a grass while relaxing between seminars.

I think it's not something people talk about too often, but maybe here is a good place to talk :)
Problem is, I was not 'sleeping for hours' first...I was meditating and fell asleep early in the eve. I was meditating on A, trying very hard to send some energy to him so that he may feel it and
call me, so when I fell asleep I was totally concentrating on this. But it only works for me this way if I actually know and care about someone.
Go figure?

Would this be considered RTZ? I have always called it the Soul Phone...LOL

Thanks,
Elew

Forgive me for not introducing myself.
I should explain that I have been doing these things
since I was very little. I don't know much about books or terms on
dreaming or OBE's . I learned dreaming and OBE from the need to go there.

The only time I ever talked about these things before was a small
dream workshop when I was a teen where we just learned about
journaling and things like that (I never told them anything about my
dream walks/OBS's, or seeing in dreaming) And then to a very few select friends I have recently met.

So, I have experience and fall short in the ability to explain
things. It gets interesting sometimes trying to converse, but I am
glad to be with a group like this...And Robert's books are the first I have on the subject. So far it all makes sense. I am learning new things every day, and learning that I'm not alone (which is the best thing!)

There is a technique that helps. It's not the 'key' or anything like that, it just helps some people. It's actually in another thread;

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=18303

There are also various visual exercises which help. You may know them, but I'll post them if you'd like.

Hope this helps

Ok, here's something I shared with a friend while trying to explain the ways I use to reach a dream walk/LD -->OBE. Don't laugh now     Remember, I had no help along the way and had to make this stuff up...but I wanted to run it by you all and ask you if it rings a bell at all. It works, so I'm sure it goes by many names now and there must be an easier way to do this. My friend mentioned Theta Undertones. I had never heard of these before, but I think I'll be learning about them soon...

It's something I don't know if anyone really does, but I have always done it and I think it helps...humming, but with something. A motor of some kind works well. I discovered this in a radio station with the ticker-tape machine, it's large (but I was small) and you can feel/hear the vibration. So, a large machine, or at least one you can feel the vibration of when it's running. If you can, put your back on it and feel the sound vibration. Then hum it's same note, and then try an octave above/ below till you find one that's easy for you and remains in harmony. And then the tricky part is to hold that note clear, then shift your voice to almost a flat. If you can do this it will create a swirling buzzing which is the meeting of your voice and the machine vibration. I know this sounds odd, but it's just the way I learned it. Then when I'm in a LD I can recall the buzzing feeling and it helps me get beyond/outside the dream. The void space between can be darkness, but for me it seems to be more of a 3D whiteness.

Once I had a friend who used to go sit in a gallery with me and sing. (I'm no great singer, I'm just fascinated with sound vibration) We were friends with the artists and we could go in any time it was empty. There was a skylight, but it was way up high in a...well I don't know how to explain it, but if you were to go under it and look up it would look like a long rectangle box with the window at the other end. But we would play with the sound there and if she would hold a note I could shift my voice and the buzzing was incredible. You can feel it all through you. It's this same vibration which can bring you places. So if this rings any bells, I would greatly appreciate knowing what this is really called, if there is such a thing... Your thoughts?

Have fun with it :)
This can sometimes take a bit of practice. Some folks can get it right away, and some find it takes up to a few weeks to get the hang of.

Gazing can be done while awake as well. It's a simple vision shift.

Have you ever used the Roshack Drawings (ink blot stuff)? The shift in vision is very much the same. You can even use the 'unfocusing on the dots' as an exercise in training your eyes to do this.

Once you can hold the unfocus, look at your surroundings this way. Things will seem slightly different, and soon you will see things that are not seen with the eyes focused.

I do use this to see in dreaming and find it works quite well for me. I'm not sure how well it would work for others.

The main thing is to hold the unfocus and be able to view 180 degrees, you can see 'nothing & everything'...it's very interesting.
