Is there a global conspiracy to make people fear sleep paralysis so they don't get it again and avoid it??

For example there is a new documentary about how "bad" sleep paralysis is??

http://io9.com/watch-the-trailer-for-what-could-be-the-scariest-docume-1701561496

But we truth seekers know being able to get into sleep paralysis is a GIFT as it allows you to then
Have a controlled OBE !!!

And OBEs are bloody amazing! I was thinking there should be a documentary teaching that it's not to be feared but to be relished!!!

Can some one please help me.

Everything  says  "focus on that"  with no real explanation.

For example, my foot.

How do you focus on it?

I think about the foot, but nothing really happens.

So I imagine my foot and say my hand tickling it.  Still nothing much.

Same with chakras.    When I say, focus on my belly button, nothing really happens
I don't even know if I am focussed on it.

So I imagine my body separately like a mannequin and imagine a light on my belly button.

Still nothing.

Am I missing a very key component of  visualisation  / energy work ?????

Robert bruce says visualisation it not required, but I can't see how you would focus on
a part of your body WITHOUT visualisation?

I feel I'm missing someone key here ?

After reading this NDE via OBE experience :

http://www.nderf.org/NDERF/NDE_Experiences/lori_e_ste.htm

I was wondering if anyone here has had similar experience they could share?

This is probably a silly question .

When I first joint this forum Frank was very active but I didn't fully grasp his teachings, so just lurked.

Now just having read a lot of his stuff, it's pretty neat.

Just wondering where is frank now?

Hi,  I just realised I've been reading (and trying to project) about Astral Projection for like 20 years now.

In that time I'VE NEVER EVER seen anything in relation to Parallel Worlds and Astral/OBE.

Can anyone feedback, and point to some material please?  This is suddenly a weird, how it's never mentioned.

Am I correct in assuming it's never been discussed and multiple world travel is impossible?  and we can only travel in this universe? - albiet in any time in it, but just this universe?

I'd be really quite exciting to read about anything where about Parallel worlds is discussed in real experiences or in relation to Astral/OBE Travel.

Naturally, there are parallel worlds -and we live in a multi-dimentional universe, so please assume I subscribe to that, rather than 'It's not real' so how can it be in the Astral and dismiss this.

Quite cool I thought.

This is quite an amazing article.
If you are into sci-fi, and futurism, like me this will happen, and when it does, why do we need to OBE? This will be better surely?

Quote
"Eventually, anything you can do in real reality -- business meetings, social events, sex, sports -- could be done in virtual reality. As the technology gets perfected, we'll be spending more and more time in virtual reality, because it'll be more and more compelling. Going to Web sites will mean going to a virtual reality environment. Some will emulate real environments, so you'll visit the Web to go skiing in the Alps or to take a walk on a beach in Tahiti. Others will be fantastic environments that don't exist, or couldn't exist, in the real world."

what does everyone else think? Will OBE be less interesting?

If anyone wants to try a really cool OBE style VR environment, you can do it right now!

Will someone sign up and meet us in  2nd life?  You can fly around just like a OBE in RTZ.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / DreamMachines
September 08, 2005, 21:13:58
I did see something when I was a kid, a device called a dream machine.

Now I can see how this works, it detects REM and them, sends electical
pulses, which you feel in your dream, so hence you realise you are
dreaming.

has anyone had any use or can give some info on these machines?

I reckon any computer and software would do, what's needed is a way to
detect REM, and send some feedback to the user..

Has anyone seen any software?

Can a heart detector be used to detect REM?

Someone I know, not that well online, says he's been having
OBE type experiences and wants to learn more.

I said, the forums are a good place to start.

This was his reponse:

"i used to go the the astralpulse forums quite alot...but i found them
to be too intellectual and overly complicated.

I want to meet real people face to face who have had these kinda experiences."

Now nothing can convince him otherwise.  I think this is sad if these forums give that impression to newbies, this should be rectified.

Any suggestions?

Also, how many people are in the UK, can we something UK specific going, and get some regional groups going?

Anyone keen to get involved in organising this?

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / COMA
May 05, 2005, 13:00:54
A Coma which is like a "twilight zone" between life and death, is interesting, as I've never ever read anything about it in context of OBE/Astral Projection!

What is a Coma exactly? Does anyone have any links/info that bring in OBE elements into a COMA?

Just saw an interesting program, about this, and I could not believe it?

Basically, what people were describing, very exactly were OBEs!

A lot of discussion about very loud sounds,  sleep paralysis, vibrations!
And of course, complete blind mortal primal fear. (you have to experience it to grasp how scary it is.)
Interesting though, it tried to explain all these as 100% physicals chemical effects in the brain.  Well Sleep paralysis, as we know is chemical - perhaps the primal fear, is actually a chemical also, like it explains in the program.  I've never seen this explanation of "Fear" in context on OBE - i.e. it's chemical. Which is why this program was very interesting, just because they were heavily exploring what happens when you fall asleep!

It appears to me a lot of people describing  "Alien Abduction" is just really
a OBE/Astal type event, and since they have never had that experience before, or know anything about OBE, they link what they see to the closest thing in their imaginations - which is alien abduction type stories.

Very precisely, people are describing having a concious sudden OBE, and when out of OBE startled at seeing strange people, and thier imaginations (astral) take over.

Does anyone else think this way?

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Yoga
March 24, 2005, 21:35:37
I was just wondering if anyone knew much about  siddhis
and sanyama.

These kind of describe Astral Projection as a psychic power that is developed through Yoga.

I was just wondering, these knowlege seems very old, but I've never seen any of the saying or methods of Yoga/Meditation to aid Projection ever been mentioned in a modern context.

Has anyone got any info on these methods to aid OBE?

Just that it seems on context, ie. all about relaxation and breathing, which are key techniques described in Astral Dynamics book, but these moden books never mention Yoga Terminology.  Are we missing out on older more deeper knowledge?

Thanks.

Why is it that most experieces I read state someone is watching them, or helping them?

It seems part and parcel of the AP experience.

But yet, I've never seen any explanation of this.

Has anyone had any take on this? It's as it deceased loved ones know you are going to AP or something, and are there watching or helping.

Does the act of merely trying to project send alerts to guides and people on higher planes?

I haven't read Robert Monroe for a while, but it was one of the real
early books I read in the 80s.

My question is how come Robert Monroe seem to have real fantastic experiences and meet people, goto crazy astral planes, they seem to do real interesting mind-blowing stuff, and learn so many new things.

But, most experiences I've read aren't RB like, more like being in the real time zone, and pretty much no mind expanding.
Well, not as mind expanding as RB experiences.

Which raises the question, what leads to these crazy experiences?
Is there something going on here we don't know about?  Was RB approaching things a different way?  I've never read much about how to have the crazy travels.  Most of what I've read of recent times is how to project (Robert Bruce) and real-time or lower level astral stuff.  It always struck me RM seems to have a lot more crazy events in his AP experiences.

I just hope when I get to AP, I could have mind expanding revelationary type experiences RB had.

Surprising Observations About the Near-Death Experience

Does this relate to fear and OBEs?

I've been reading about this topic for years,
but I've never seen any mention of Cannabis.

Has anyone had any experiences that help OBE with this drug?

It is supposed to be particularly relaxing or induce a relaxing state,
so I can only assume it can help?

Sounds very interesting.

I've read it, and I think it's a great book, but I think it applies more to idea.  I don't think any of it actually happened.

Hi[:)]
I don't have much experiense of having OBE - it happened just a couple of times by itself and I still can't understand the exact texnique of achieving that state...but I keep trying. [;)]

In my oppinion when you get out of your body you already exist in another dimension and being in it you are able to see the lower dimensions(our material world). Now I'm reading one book about the Aura and the Immortal body ( Jean Prieur " l'aura et le corps immortel"). After finishing it I could try to express my impressions of it in one topic here.

And about the dimensions you could ask Mystic Cloud - he knows more of it than I do[:)]

Best regards
