Falling asleep while trying to OBE can be a great thing. Imagine that while you're preparing to have an OBE, that you're setting your body up for the experience.
Then, after you fall asleep, you may wake up in the middle of the night. I always do. When I wake up, I tell myself not to move, and just slowly relax. The more I relax, the quicker the vibrations sweep over my body, and I'm able to project into the astral.

I wonder if I could encounter my mom once I get out. And I would also like to visit my dad real-time. He now lives in his country. I would like to know if anyone has had the opportunity to speak to a loved one who has gone to the "other side" when they AP?
While it is possible to visit someone who has passed on to the other side while you're projecting, I have never done it. I have talked with a lot of astral entities out there, but never anyone that I knew who had died previously.

Also I am a little fearfull because I don't know what to expect. I'm sure that's part of going through the experience. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you - []
Being afraid is normal. However, you must understand that you're only afraid of the unknown. I have projected hundreds of times in the last 5 years, and I have never had anything which I encountered that would convince me to be afraid. And those things which I was afraid if, I no longer am afraid of.
For example, the first time I started to fly, I reached a super, lightening fast speed where you feel like your face is about to rip off because of the G-force velocity! I don't mean that to sound painful....it's just scary.....like riding a super fast roller coaster.
However, the more I experienced this, the more I told myself to just relax and trust that everything will be ok. And now, when this happens to me, I am completely fine with it.
Bottom line, you'll never know what's out there until you try and see for yourself. Keep OBE's on your mind by reading books or coming here to this forum, and continue to practice your OBE techniques.
And remember, don't move when you wake up in the middle of the night. Just lay there, still, and start to imagine yourself melting into your bed. You might be surprised at what happens!
