The man was a neg most likely.  It's purpose was to scare you and feed off the energies you threw out when terrified.  Either that or it was the dweller on the threshold (which is basically your fears personified in the astral).  Both are basically thought forms I believe.

As for what you can do, I'll let someone with some more experience with this kinda stuff handle it.

Hi there !

Thanks for that great account !

quote:
So, was this an actual OBE? Was I dreaming? Or was it something else entirely?

Yes, it was an actual OBE. But its another classic case of how things that aren't verified in waking life lead to doubts about the reality of an OBE experience.

It would be only fair to say that there are plenty who would disagree and say that you had a dream about an OBE...But I beg to differ.

In my opinion, the confusion you feel is a result of your pre-conceptions about OBE : you believe there is a "real time" OBE (where you float into a mirror image of the real world) and an "astral" OBE (where you travel some place).

So, when you have a real time OBE and find that some of the details you recall do not collaborate with waking life, you doubt the reality of the experience. The colour of the clothing, position of your relatives and the fact that you couldn't see your on body on the bed are enough to make most people dismiss this as a dream.

but I just feel like there is more to this than meets the eye.

Precisely what I feel ! Perhaps, as I believe, there is no distinction between the "real time" zone and the astral.

The definition of an OBE isn't universally agreed on ; and it certainly isn't limited to experiences that can be verified with evidence.

Kind regards,
Mark

Count your blessings, I wish I would get vibrations every night...

As far as the noises are concerned... What your talking about is called auditory hallucinations which generally occur when the vibrations start. They end as soon as you project. All you can do is ignore them.

Waking up in the astral plane... If you really don't want to do that I would suggest buying an alarm clock and setting it 30 minutes or so before you usually wake up. The loud noise coming from it should shoot you directly into your physical body.

Good luck!

Well, I am not very experienced, but the reason you couldn't see might have been that you wern't focused enough.  Sometimes if you demand to have sight you will be able to see.  The voice repeating your prayers might have been your spirit guide.  Since they are of Astral they might have a higher connection to God and be able to tell your prayer to him, but that is only my guess.  Hope you have better experiences in the future.
