I've been trying to astral project for some time now, but have been unable to because every time I'm about to, I get scared and lose it. I've never really been able to do it by meditating or any conscious method. It usually happens when I'm going to sleep and sometimes I end up beginning to leave my body. It's become pretty common and i go through the same process every time, realize what's going on, get scared, go back. I started looking into some other things, and I don't know if anybody else believes in Guardian Angels, but I do. So I asked my guardian angel for protection, whether it be real or just a self-delusion. What happened one night was scarier than any other experience.
I "woke up" drifting out of my body, and began to get scared. I toughed it out this time and decided to keep going. It was taking some time to get out of my body, but I could tell it was happening. Then I noticed I was hearing something that scared the **** out of me. It sounded like a bunch of people talking or rather whispering. I immediately thought enough of this, and went straight back into my body, waited a few seconds to be able to move my body again, and then got up waited a few seconds, and went back to sleep.(for the whole night this time.) After a few hours of being awake the next morning I began to wonder if I was actually hearing talking and what was being said. There was also some other sounds that just sounded plain weird.
Either way, is there any way to drown out these sounds? I feel like I'm so close but those sounds creeped me out. I'm gonna try again tonight, sometimes I can get it to happen by telling myself it's gonna happen before I go to sleep, or by sleeping in a certain position.
