This is an interesting experience given that you have earlier described a certain facility for coming aware and lucid within a dream. You did this well when the space craft appeared, but then became somewhat fearful and chose to exit the experience. Good control despite being distracted by fear.

Any ideas why you didn't awake but rather entered a False Awakening?

Also in earlier posts, you have described some other related theories; how does that relate to what happened next? You saw your mother and brother but quickly realized it was not them (another good perception)...

There's more in this that you need to discover. Enjoy!

Welcome floriferous!

I look forward to your perspective and insights. A welcome addition.

That's an outstanding clairvoyant experience soarin!

Who Am I-

I would like to suggest a few ideas to consider:

1) When talking about Monroe's experiences, you have to keep in mind that he was an exception, an extraordinary natural talent at all the various AP experiences. It was not until his third book, I think, that he came to understand his special relationship with his soul-group/Disc and that he was a kind of explorer or pathfinder for them, searching far ahead into the NP. I'm not trying to minimize your efforts or suggest limits as to what you might be capable of, but it's like watching Tiger Woods hit amazing golf shots and being disappointed that you can't do the same. So, don't be too hard on yourself.

2) Much of the OBE literature suggests the idea that once a person begins having more 'astral' experiences, they leave behind the ability or need to operate in the RTZ, wherever that may be. It's very hard to go back. Now I'm not saying that's the hard and fast rule, I don't know; but many projectors experiences tend to confirm this.

3) Another idea, put forth a few years ago in Kurt Leland's The Multidimensional Human, suggests that the Theosophical view of the development of the hierarchy of NP bodies moves from the etheric (RTZ) to the astral, the mental, the causal and so on...and that each bodies' development is linked to the development of a corresponding chakra. This leads to the possibility that even though you are experiencing astral events, your etheric body/chakra is still undeveloped, therefore you can't experience that 'plane' of being. So, work on that chakra would be necessary.

With that said, soarin12 is right. If you can focus your intent on doing this, you should find a way. Intent IS everything!

So, the next time you find yourself 'astral', declare out loud that you want to visit the RTZ. Or ask why you can't. You may get an answer...

Good luck!

Like Szaxx commented, ' You are being accustomed to/challenged with experiencing things being different from the Physical'.

This one maybe has to do with orienting yourself, not a biggie, just 'energy body positioning'.

Kind of a 'let's throw him out sideways and upside down and see how he handles it' challenge.

Funny guys, huh? :-D

I was never told anything, much less how to spin. Interesting; the technique seems useful in various situations.

The variety of experiences is incredible. Thanks for sharing!

I get your understanding...it's just different from mine. All good!

Kzaal,

I like a lot of what you have to say.

An honest question: I haven't seen my body as pure light rays.

How does that come about?

After the vibrations they can still be considered Hypnogogics, maybe more importantly, various types of exit sensations. It can get quite varied!

Don't be thrown off track; just remain the impassive, unemotional observer. This is likely your subconscious self throwing up stuff to challenge your intention to project. That's the first barrier...

Enjoy the experience and move on past it...

Are we having fun yet?

One other idea that might make sense to you is this: The decision to learn how to AP is much more than a simple decision- Do I? or don't I? It is also a decision to advance your personal and spiritual evolution. This is no small thing. So maybe during the last several months you have been having an internal discussion and negotiation going on at a subliminal level, asking and seeking permission and agreement from your many 'selves'. Your conscious, subconscious, and higher self.

There can also be some underlying fear issues or cultural taboos that are having more effect than you realize.

To help with this, try writing out and repeating nightly some positive affirmations to encourage this inner dialogue.

"I give myself permission to have an out of body experience."
"I am confident and safe, knowing that I am protected."
"I ask permission of my higher self to Astral Project."

Just some ideas.
#1084
And you maintained a proper mindset throughout the experience! You didn't get confused, flustered or frustrated.

You went with the flow!

Nicely done!
#1085
My comment parallels Lionheart's post. Some of this is testing your basic intent, desire on AP. What are your actual motivations? If it is purely recreational, then you may well be rejected outright.

They're on the other side, watching...and they don't kid around. They don't put up with spurious, recreational pursuits.

Or, they are challenging you with discovering other exit methods, like Lion suggested.

Nothing you read here should be construed as medical advice.

Blood in the urine is pretty freaky when it happens to you (it did for me!) but yes, it can be directly related to a viral infection/urinary infection.

That's about all that can be said here. Please refer any and all concerns to a medical professional.
#1087
Your English is good enough! :-D

The vibrations, the metal sound, the gasping for air. These are signs that you are getting closer to a separation, exit symptoms. The more that you experience them, you will not get scared or excited. Just stay calm and let it happen. The gasping for air can be difficult to overcome, again just stay calm and the transition will go easier.

Congratulations!

That about says it; not much more is needed. Beautifully stated...

Like soarin, I have noticed the Download in the last 10-20 seconds as I am awaking. It reminds me EXACTLY of a system update, or compressed file being unzipped. I don't get any information or symbols but I know instantly that it is profound information, just a simple, soft zzzzzzzzzzzzzzziiiiippp...and it's done. And, like Lion, the rest of the day or two is strangely quiet, like I am assimilating. I've had three of these that I remember, starting back in 2009. I've also had the Download in the middle of the night at least twice. It occurs deep in sleep and I don't awaken, but do come aware enough to realize that the Download is taking place, then sink back into sleep.

And as some of you know, I've had the teleconference experience twice, recently. It may be related, but is a more active, participatory sharing of information.

This has all opened a new area of experience for me: Not just dreams or LDs, not just APs, but also semi-conscious mental activity while my body is sound asleep. Fascinating, I had no idea I could be so active while snoozing. Lol
#1090
According to the traditional literature, we project every night, although most of us are unconscious and unaware of the fact.

I can't speak for what your girlfriend is experiencing, but I will say this: When I was in my early twenties and was trying to project, I could never remember my experiences. Other people that I was trying to meet up with in the NP were able to independently confirm that I was there multiple times, but I had no memory of it. The only noticeable thing I could describe was that on those nights I couldn't remember any dreams and the time period that I was supposed to be 'out', I could only remember as a blank period during my sleep that was like a deep, dark blackness or void.

This could be indicative of low NP awareness for a number of reasons; for me at that time, I was suffering pretty severe depression.
#1091
Thanks for reminding me of YET ANOTHER aspect of dream awareness!! Boy, that goes back years!lol
#1092
Ellury-

It seems to me you are putting together a picture of how developed your NP personality is. It seems quite limited at first, but that is apparently normal; I felt the same way. Becoming aware of it is the first step, then work to nurture its development. It can show pretty quickly.

This probably deserves another sticky...Szaxx, Lion??...lol
#1093
Soarin, the question is one of a more subtle nature; were you aware in the dream 'realtime' to any degree? Not that you had control, just were you aware of the ongoing action as it happened?; degree of control is another question, it appears.

It's a question of degree of realization, realtime. For me, I felt like I was 5-10% behind full awareness realtime. Given Lions' and Szaxx's comments, I realize that I did have or was aware of some small degree of influence in the dream, not what I thought originally, but involved more than I originally gave myself credit for, nonetheless.

I guess the first question might be, were you aware of the dream realtime, or did you just remember it when you woke up?
#1094
For me, it all comes back to the natural order of things and it's pretty simple: there is a hierarchical process to consciousness, it's all in various levels of development/evolution. That's why I personally have no problem reconciling God with evolution. God or Source, has to work through some process or processes, why should that exclude evolution as one physical component? As just the only component? Maybe there are several aspects working at once, including evolution and direct intervention. Physical and spiritual...

We squish bugs without much thought because they slip back into the automatic process of animal regeneration and Life. We could do better, with a little thought, but it's pretty simple and straight-forward at that level, so we don't mind too much, stomping bugs. With higher animals, we take a little closer notice because they are a higher order of complexity and development. We take them on as pets, and they become something more. Taken a bit too far, we hold funerals for them...Maybe that's good for our kids to attend.

Animals kept as pets do, in my opinion, take on some human qualities such as love, compassion, shared sadness, aggressive defense, humor and embarrassment, to name a few. These are not just anthropomorphic projections, they are demonstrable and repeatable. That begs the question of, What is the next evolutionary/spiritual development for this animal consciousness?

I think the greater beauty of our multiverse allows for all of this.

See what a lack of sleep can do for you?! Ridiculous dreams! Love 'em!

Congratulations!

Ellury-

I think Lionheart is pointing out that it's a good idea to start logging, thinking about and noticing Dream Triggers because the DT is not just a simple signal, it is an indicator as well, of NP personality awareness and there is a 'depth' or 'degree' involved with it. (these words don't quite convey exactly what I want to; I'll have to think on this)

Lionheart-

It's my pleasure, my friend!

And as usual, you and Szaxx have shown me insights that I had no idea were there! :-D

You guys have again widened my perspective and given me some aspects to think about. I'll probably have an observation or two tomorrow. Have to re-read several times and contemplate.

Thanks guys!

So, after my Grass, Gravel and an Old Friend experience, I sank back into sleep for awhile. A pattern that I have just noticed, like that of my Back to School experience, is that my Astral event is followed by a short period of sleep, followed by another opportunity that is obviously presented to me by my guide(s) in the form of a dream that I can turn lucid. The trick is, I have to come aware in it. After Back to School, I succeeded; in this one I didn't. I thought it might prove instructive to show the number of Dream Triggers that were presented to me; the chances to achieve awareness, and turn a LD into another astral opportunity.

I became dream aware in an open field (Dream Trigger 1)with a tiny, two inch long, folded paper airplane pinched between the thumb and forefinger of my right hand. I was lifted into the air with the excitement of flight (DT2) and went soaring aloft. At 1,000 feet, I noticed I was pretty high and looked at the paper plane amazed at the ability it was giving me (DT3), but I felt a certain degree of confident control. Then, as if in response to that thought, (DT4), I was sent on a huge updraft taking me to a dizzying 10,000 feet. Here, I had a serious moment of concern that this tiny paper airplane could sustain me (DT5); I didn't feel the control I had earlier, something was beyond my control(DT6). I wondered How in the world can I maneuver myself back down to the ground?; it seemed very unlikely. I persevered in my stubbornness to dream however, so an alternative was introduced: a towering building appeared under me and I was awestruck at the ridiculousness of its height (DT7).

I managed a difficult landing onto the rooftop (by my skill alone, of course lol) and made my way down the emergency stairway. On the top floor, I was accosted by none other than a horde of those Goonies creatures from that movie I had never even seen! The little furry, sharp-toothed suckers that tuck into a ball and roll after you (DT8). They chased me down a few flights of stairs until I came into a level where I encountered a friend of mine (DT9), an older guy DV and we took off together. After descending another couple levels, I realized that I had left DV behind, he couldn't keep up. I knew he would die, I knew we would both die; there in the stairwell, I made the decision to go back and join him and face it together. I charged back up the stairs into the level and could see him surrounded...fade to black...

I missed an astral opportunity, but at least I went back for him...lol

Sounds like you are getting deep into your Hypnagogia, which can get confusing and complex.

It could be a communication. What do you think after some reflection?

In shameless promotion, I will say as far as sources of knowledge, the Astral Pulse has been the best reference for me over the last 8 years; it touches on and refers to all these authors' works plus the experiences of the contributors themselves...plus it's pretty much free.  :-)

My collection of specific AP titles includes 30+ books gathered over 40 years; I don't have them all, but I bet it's most of them.

All the authors mentioned are good and contribute valuable experiences and insights.

Fred Aardema's Explorations In Consciousness is also a well-balanced, all-around read, just came out recently.

In retrospect, as a beginning projector, I would want a book that gives some easy to read, basic, unbiased theory and some good exit techniques. For that, either William Buhlman's Adventures Beyond the Body or Robert Peterson's Out of Body Experiences fit the bill pretty well.

As a more experienced projector I look for some deeper theory, refinement of techniques, subtleties of what makes up our experiences and what to look forward to. Kurt Leland's books, Otherwhere and Multidimensional Human serve those purposes in an excellent fashion. I love Otherwhere and was lucky to go ahead and buy one of the offered used copies online. I hope it comes back into reprint. But if I had to choose between the two, I would take Multidimensional Human, because it covers intermediate theory and it gives a great description of what Kurt describes as the 20 inner Non-Physical senses that can be and need to be developed to experience higher levels, and it gives exercises to develop them. In my own experience I have recognized some of these senses and his system of progression makes sense.

One from each of those categories will serve anyone very well.

Great article Lion; you have a special gift for unearthing the right link at just the right time!

The blue sky, dinosaurs similarities between my and soarin's experience fits us both in the same 'biodome simulation' almost to a T (Rex) (couldn't avoid the pun!). But it appears she got caught by the fascination of the artistic critters and went to hold one wherein they shapeshifted. According to Leland's logic, the shapeshifting was a signal to focus elsewhere, into the bigger picture of the simulation to keep looking for the purpose.

Now, observing the shapeshifting would normally draw my attention even closer to the objects in hand, rather than away; that would be my natural instinct. So, according to Leland, I have to re-wire my thinking somewhat so that when I focus on a small part of a NP scene and it immediately changes, then that is likely a signal that I am focusing on the wrong thing and should broaden my view. In my simulation, I was curious about the monstrous dinosaurs but did not become overly fascinated by them and was then able to detect the pull/directive.

I guess for now, my overriding thought has to be that whenever I am NP, I am in a simulation and need to be looking for the purpose and not caught out by the details...subtle stuff.

The Leland article is a 'must read' for practically everybody; print it off and memorize it!

Szaxx, I think your last post summarizes it; the only thing I might add is that I can see the ongoing development and divergence of the secondary NP personality and how it has natural advantages over the physical personality to communicate on these levels and tune in closer to source.
