Quoted from http://www.astralpulse.com/frankkepple.htmlIf there is something you don't get from that text, reading the entire article would help. But it is what i marked bold that is your problem.

See, I know that the Astral world is not filled with demons and such, my problem is that I know that if I think of scary beings/things then they will appear in the Astral, because of my mind. And it seems just because I know that, I can't stop thinking about it lol

Learn to love.
Love the Earth and everybody in it.

The less I try, the more results I get. Honestly, I don't do anything except listen to the ringing sound in my ears and separate with no problems.
I feel the most exit sensations when my head is separating.. then I feel a MAJOR falling sensations and throbbing heart chakra. Other then that, I get the buzzing when during separation and pressure in my head soon after lying down.

I personally think that exit techniques (if you focus too much on them - trying to 'force' yourself out of body) can take you out of your trance state or bring you strong sensations but no exit.

lol everytime I'm in a trance, and starting to separate, one of my feet or my nose becomes itchy. I think it's a test of some kind.. I've learned to ignore it and just concentrate on deepening my state until eventually I become unaware of it and can continue into separation.

mabye when we are at the highest planes mbnaye there there is no colour or sound or sight or tuch. just consciousness floating in eternal bliss

That's what I've heard of the higher/est Astral planes, or "Home"; That you are nothing but eternal consciousness in bliss

It takes a long time to exit your body for the first time. There are the few lucky people who do it within 3 weeks, but they are few in number. Even after practicing on average 2 hours a day for 3 months I can finally successfully and easily move my Astral limbs, but I've only had one OBE.
Don't rush things, that's one of the biggest mistakes you can make, because then you will feel discouraged when it doesn't happen within the first two months, even after trying and trying.
It will happen.
Just take things slowly, practice energy work, read about your chakras, but don't forget to live your life. And don't expect to have an OBE everytime you lay down to practice, lower your standards and eventually, when you are ready, you will exit.

Good luck ! :-)

I can get into a trance state very easily, and then I get a buzzing/peeling sensation as my astral body 'pops' out of my physical (or how it feels).
I can feel my legs 'peel' apart and become seperate, and at first I always think it's just in my head (it doesn't seem to take very long these days - granted, I have been practicing about twice a day for the past 3 months) but I can think "legs, up up up" and they will float up very high. I think "Legs, stop" and they will stop. It also feels I can 'stretch out' my limbs or make them larger then they physically are, and the way I move is not the same as the physical. I move by willing myself to that place, not by actually moving.
Here's the problem.
Everytime I'm only attached by my head and it starts to detach, I stop the process, because I'm scared of seeing (I know it sounds stupid..) a dead person (think the grudge) standing beside me staring at me, or throwing my Astral body around, etc.
I've already encountered negative beings and know how to handle it so I don't know why I'm being such a chicken

How was everybodys first time experience?

Well, for starters,
Robert Bruce talks about Remote Viewing in his book Astral dynamics, and according to him, when you have a remote viewing it is a very weak version of the projected double of yourself at that place, while your physical self is still (barely) awake.
Because you're physical self is still awake, it can not generate enough energy to keep the projected double of you 'there', which is why Remote Viewings don't last very long and are not completely controlled, and why you can still control your physical body while experiencing a RV
I don't believe it's possible to turn a RV into an actual OBE, because your physical body is still awake. You need to be in a "mind awake + body asleep" state to have an OBE or AP.

The method that personal reality suggested is to let yourself get into a sleep-like position at a time/place you could sleep. Don't try any methods, just let it happen naturally. Act like your trying to sleep, and when random images start to appear, stop them and focus on the ringing in your ears. Keep yourself just on the verge of sleep. After the vibrations, and after you pop out of your body, THEN do the rope technique or roll-out method.

good luck!

I don't really know ...
It probably has to do with the fact that the Astral planes are generally at a higher vibrational frequency then the physical world we live in, therefore (I'd assume) heightening all of your senses, sight and emotion included
Just a wild guess though  :-)

Thank you for sharing  :-)
I haven't got the time to check it out right now but as soon as I do I will, again thanks  :-)

Side effects...  :|
I personally have never encountered any physical side effects, and I don't personally know anybody who has.
#138
Sounds like the sensations that happen before experiencing the vibrations.
Trust me, when you get them, you will know
The first few times I got them, I had to stop (It felt like my mind was enduring an 8.0 earthquake) and was shaking violently afterward, I believe this is because my energy body was not used to so much energy flowing through it. Gradually, they become less and less strong and now all I feel is tingly/buzzing..
I have stopped a session halfway through and opened my eyes many times, it interrupts your focus point and your state of consciousness, although if you close your eyes again right away you can get back there fairly easily.
#139
how much is too much?
#140
I don't think anybody can tell you what it was, there wasn't enough information,
what were your senses like? What did everything look like around you? Where were you?
When you say spirit world, do you mean this person passed on?

This forum is what got me there.

I have to agree that the forum is an amazing place to share experiences and get answers from personal experience.. Without this forum I probably would have given up.

missym, Why do you need to finish school?  I mean I get it, but it seems to me to be an awful waste of time and money.

I guess I just assumed you gained all of this knowledge by completing specific courses in University/College.. If you haven't completed Uni, then that gives me a ton of relief knowing I don't have to endure 8 years and 40,000 dollars in debt to become as intelligent in this area as you are .
#143
I guess I was right the first time then  :-)

lol
omg, I need to finish school  :|

The addiction you feel comes from your mind, not your physical body. Although, it may feel this way, it's your emotions and energy that is changing as a result of the drugs. As a consequence of this your physical body then changes. To overcome the addictions you need to have a lot of discipline and self control.

Yes, I actually can't completely disagree with you, for once  .. My mind became accustom to relying on drugs as a 'way out'.. Although my physical body went through serious withdrawal coming off of the drugs. I've been clean for just over 2 years now. It was the most difficult time of my life, and learning to deal with difficult situations without the help of drugs to make me happy, was one of the hardest lessons I've ever learned.

-Has anyone experienced those brain "shocks"?
-Have any of you been able to gain new knowledge from being in an altered state(like on shrooms, lsd, DMT, ect)or during vivid dreams?
-Is there information on how to increase the power of my vivid dreams?

1. I experience brain 'shocks' that send an intense buzz throughout my body, mainly during the separation process of AP.
2. I used to be able to 'see' spirits and feel the magnetism inside of my veins and under the ground while on Ecstasy. I also began doing mathematical formulas that I previously did not know,
however
Drugs can have serious, SERIOUS consequences when they are used/abused. Ecstasy, shrooms, narcotics, should NOT be used. Unless you are prescribed something by a doctor, you should be very careful with how you treat your body. I got addicted to the knowledge gained by using E that I became so addicted I could not go a day without taking at least 10 pills (my physical body was addicted).. and IMO, the experience you gain while on drugs doesn't count because of the altered state the drugs put you in.
3. I honestly don't know much about dreams, I'm sure somebody else on the forum will be able to give you better advice  :-)

I don't even get the intense vibrations anymore, just a light vibrating sensation, buzzing, tingly.
The first few times I tried AP and got somewhere with it, I got such intense vibrations that it felt like there was an earthquake going on inside of my brain, but slowly they began to become nothing more than a surge of energy, buzzing.
Perhaps your energy body is already built up enough where you don't experience intense vibrations? I find they are the most intense when you are still building up your energy body, and getting it used to so much energy flowing through it.

honestly, I don't know what you're talking about, it sounds like quite the experience but I don't know much about going into peoples minds.. or about lungfish
As for the poll, I've never tried and don't think I ever will, I don't want myself to get people's thoughts/experiences confused with my own, or affect the way I view things.

I've read Astral Dynamics, it's a great book, but it does make things seem more difficult than they are lol
I just got "Far Journeys" (The 'sequel' to Journeys out of body) By Robert Monroe, I'm only on chapter 4 but so far I haven't been able to put it down!
