Welcome to Magic! / Do not invoke lucifer
August 09, 2004, 17:35:58
I know very little to nothing at all about magic or spell casting, nor does it interest me.  There have been times in my life though, my days as an athiest, when out of curiosity and disbelief I would attempt to confer spirits or ghosts of some sort, for cheap thrills.  It was in that time of my life that the strangest things happened to me with ghosts and such.  All I know for certain is this, you get what you invite.  Whether good or bad, positive or negative, you get what you ask for.

Welcome to Dreams! / OBE in Dreams?
August 09, 2004, 17:30:23
GANAMOHA... I don't have a method, this is the first time I've ever experienced such an event.  It was different then becoming lucid.  Whenever I become lucid in a dream it's because I watch my hands "melt away".  This time, I was dreaming normally, and for reasons I can't explain it was the painting in my dream changing that induced the OOBE symptoms.  What I do know for certain is that lucid dreams and similar experiences are most common when I do energy work, and also in the morning.  As most do, I'll wake up in the morning, perhaps out of thirst or something, and then instead of going back to sleep, I'll lie flat on my back (not my sleeping position) and try to remain concious.  Harder said then done, I know, but I think because lying on my back is an unnatural way for me to sleep, it's easier to stay partially concious.  It's usually then that I have an LD.

One last question to LOCO... when LD, how do you make the transition from lucid dreaming to OOB?

In my opinion, no.  Hemi-sync is a type of hypnotism.  Some of them are music, but much of them have words to them, spoken by Monroe himself.  I have 2 of them.  One is just calming music, and though I find it quite comforting, has nothing to do with OBE whatsoever.  The other is a spoken CD in which Monroe guides you through a relaxing journey untill you reach a point that "pink sound" comes in and you are suppose to experience a very personal spiritual experience.  But if you've ever tried to be hypnotised or seen it done, you will recognize that Monroe uses tone of voice and soothing phrases that in a normal situation would simply hypnotise many people.  I however can't be hypnotised (ya ya, "everyone" can be hypnotised, simpy not true).  I find all Hemi-Sync CD's very relaxing and pleasant to listen to, but they will in no way, shape, or form induce an OBE, unless you can be hypnotised, in which case it's still not an OBE.  If you wish to ease some tension and feel some comfort, then go for it.  But don't expect and OBE solely from listening to Hemi-Sync.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Sex!
August 05, 2004, 03:29:04
I think if you're having sex and you're main concern is stimulating chakras, then you're sex life might be kinda rocky.  To throw in my (probably unwelcome 2 cents) it's kinda funny how you, for no apparent reason, throw in the fact that you gave your partner an orgasm.  Bragging?  Or does that have to do with stimulating chakras?  How exactly do you stimulate another persons chakras anyways, during or not during sex?  After reading your post I see no questions or concerns.  Basically I think you just want to tell people that you've given someone an orgasm!

As extreme as it sounds, Fat Turkey is definately correct.  Hitler's propoganda is frighteningly similar to Bush's tactics to gain American support.  Ignore the names.  When people see the name Hitler they get angry and defensive, unless they're skin head KKK, but it's really true.  If you've ever read a passage from "Mein Kampf" as some of you may have had to read in college, you will see that Hitlers idea's about propoganda in war is what made Nazi Germany a powerful force.  Hitler was a monster and a tyrant, but an extremely intelligent one.  Though I wouldn't go so far to call Bush intelligent, when it comes to rallying a nation to support his cause, he may as well have taken advice from the German tyrant himself.  Not something I noticed at first, but good observation Fat Turkey!

Ya, God bless war and destruction *sarcasm*.  Listen, I'm no liberal.  A war for a good cause, like freedom, has to be faught.  It's very good that we are freeing people from Saddam's sick ideals.  A good thing has come out of a war started for a bad reason.  The terrorist attacks gave Bush the reason he needed to go to war.  His reason was politics.  He didn't send troops over there to fight terrorism, he sent them to find and destroy weapons of mass distruction and stop the regime that was making them.  But there were none.  How much time is being spent looking for Osama?  Most of it is going towards rebuilding a new government.  If you don't agree with the war we are in, that doesn't necissarily classify you as a traitor, because there are a number of reasons why this war never should have started in the first place.  Many are comparing it to Vietnam.  I think that our soldiers are doing an excellent job at what they can and the fight for freedom is the only justifiable fight.  Our military is doing the right thing... Bush is not.  Can't wait to see him leave office!

Welcome to Dreams! / OBE in Dreams?
August 02, 2004, 17:37:50
It is good to know.  I think this deserves a little more experimentation by all those who have experienced it.  It seems to differ from both lucid dreams and OBE, but has characteristics of both.  It could be a different path that hasn't quite been taken into consideration yet.

I just have a short response.  Perhaps the reason that Jesus did not resurrect his father was because Joseph was not his father, and his soul purpose on earth was to do his heavenly fathers will, not Mary's, not Josephs.  Also, maybe because at the time of Josephs death Jesus was not yet meant to start his ministery.  As for not being able to heal, I don't think this was the case.  But throughout the bible Jesus heals the faithful.  During his judgement Jesus was taken to be judged by King Herod.  Herod demanded Christ to perform miracles if he wished to be freed.  Christ said and did nothing.  It wasn't that he couldn't, it was that Herod didn't believe he was the son of God and wouldn't do miracles to convince him.  Believers were formed not when they were healed, but when they heard of someone faithful being healed.  When the roman soldier came to Jesus and asked Him to heal his son, Jesus did it because of the soldiers faith in him.  I'm sure there's an answer for it, these are just some ideas of mine.  I don't however believe these small passages to be a threat to faith.

Well, to anyone who's interested, I tried this technique this morning and got incredible results with lucid dreaming.  My stomach was killing me this morning so I was up early in pain, took some pepto, and not yet being able asleep I did the technique.  I did fall asleep, but then I had an amazing lucid dream in which I was 100% aware.  I created everything that I wanted and actually found it quite humurous watching the characters in my dream act accordingly as I was in complete control of their every actions.  It was great.  More remarkable however is that I woke up a few hours later, and tried it again, and once again had a different and yet still amazing lucid dream.  In all I woke up 3 times, tried that technique 3 times, and had 3 great and long lucid dreams.  More lucid then I have ever experienced before.  In fact in one I remember almost waking up, and because I didn't want to, I thought "breath deep and relax", and my body did, and I continued with my lucid dreaming.  One thing that may be of note is that before I became lucid, each dream was kind of a nightmare.  It was the hope that the nightmare wasn't really happening that caused me to look at my hands and watch them become deformed (that's what happens to me instead of them melting away), and that's when I realized I was dreaming. Thanks Cube for this post, this technique is now a favorite of mine.

No, I do not believe in destiny.  I believe that God is always there for us, but has given us the choice whether or not to heed His council.  He will never lead us in the wrong direction, but we can choose not to follow His direction if we think it's not right for us.  Destiny cannot exist with free will, it is a paradox.  If destiny exists then every action we take leads us to an already set outcome that we were suppose to take, and choice thus means nothing.  If we are free to choose our fate, then every choice we make changes the end result.  So I guess all you can do is choose which one you want to believe in.

Thanks for the insight Cube, this has been a minor problem for me lately.  I've been trying to remain aware of when I drift into sleep.  Sometimes I just fall asleep, and sometimes I lucid dream.  But I have noticed that after some time on my back I just want to lay on my side and go to sleep, so I'll try to resist and see what happens.

Please... as a Christian I am truly dumbstruck.  If you truly knew the Bible you would have no foundation to say that Christ commanded cannibalism and blood drinking a-plenty, as well as mass murder, genocide, rape and torture.  The Bible was written for Christ, and for no other purpose more important.  Christ never EVER taught such ridiculous concepts as torture and rape.  In fact at the moment of His death when nearly everyone wanted Him dead He asked God to forgive them, for they knew not what they did.  There is One truth, and that is that Christ never asked His brethren to torture, rape, drink blood or cannibalise in the name of God.  He was pure Love, Forgiveness, and Righteouness, and even in the Bible, no verse is spoken that states Christ commanded any evil!

Why be a witch if you believe in Christ?  Christians believe that all things are of and through Christ and the father, not spells and enchantments.  The bible speaks of witchcraft as evil because it takes away from Christ as the source of all miracles and all things spiritual, which is Christ Himself.  The bible was also changed quite drastically in the dark ages, when witchcraft was very much an abomination, and priests being the only ones who could read the bible in those time often created their own version in order to coincide with their own beliefs.  Christ doesn't want all you self proclaimed witches to be put to death or chastised, but as long as you indulge in magic, you lose sight of TRUE power which is spiritual and governed by Christ.

Damn Sinestro, talk about getting off topic.  Science is incredibly useful in discovering the truth of the universe and the cosmos, but philosophy and science are entirely different.  Tell me again why this post is in the philosophy section?  I'm also curious as to why those numbers that you gave us show that the universe is flat.  4% normal matter, 23% dark matter, and 73% dark energy (which I think you may be getting confused with other things, ie- where's the helium in all this, the most abundant energy in the galaxy?)... are these numbers the official mathematical equation for being flat?  If the universe continues to expand, why would it expand on a flag line with it's dimensions are limitless?  All religion aside, it's quite clear to anyone with some level of common sense that you don't have a clear thought of your own, science forms them for you.  Science is philosophy that has been proven.  Couple thousand years ago astronomy, medicine, and anatomy were philisophical ideas discussed through reason and probability.  It's only when these things could be studied in depth through technology that they were no longer a form of philosophy but a science.  In regards to the study of the universe, scientists are still learning to crawl.  It wasn't more then 30 years ago that they discovered black holes.  That the things they know now are subject to further discovery and ultimately change as it gives way to understanding is more of a fact then anything they know now.  You think you know science, but you should brush up on what history has taught us.

Welcome to Dreams! / Looking at my hands:
July 26, 2004, 00:19:22
My very first lucid dream occured because of the hand method.  However though it seemed unconcious, and I was aware of the technique, I hadn't spent much time doing it.  Within my dream it simply occured.  I felt the need to look at my hands, and in doing so became lucid.  All other lucid dreams I have had have been completely random and spontaneous.  I wish them to happen, but don't plan for it.  I don't know if this is any kind of advice really.  I guess as long as you're having them at all it's a good start.  Keep trying and see if it eventually works.

I think most everyone on this forum has read his books.

What are you writing your book about Beth?  I remember a few posts of yours from the past, vaguely I must add, but recall you being something of an athiest.  Forgive me if I am mistaken.  Are you writing a book about something biblical?

Wouldn't it be better not to promise and break the promise but to not promise and live true?

How can you break a promise you never made?  How can you live true to a promise you never made?  They say promises are made to be broken, along with rules.  Doesn't have to be so.  It's not like promising something is going to make it happen, you have to choose to keep or break the promise.  It's not about the words, it's the choice whether or not to believe or hold true to them.

When people think Ouija board often times they think evil.  I myself have never played with one but have seen strange footage of people using one.  Does it's use have to be tide in with negativity?  Can using a Ouija board be a positive experience?

I'd think it's pretty self explanatory.  Does does not hate, it is against His very being.  He loves all things He has created because He cannot make and error in judgement and therefor has never created anything or anyone which He later regreted.  He created everything out of Love for creation itself and Love's the universe He has created.  So, He IS Love.

Welcome to News and Media! / Face on Mars?
July 18, 2004, 04:49:51
Unless I am "all who is"?  Give me a break.  There is a line between skepticism and ignorance.  Because I'm not God you won't believe the facts that prove the face on Mars is nothing more then a natural formation?  Don't you think your doubts are unreasonable?  Don't take my word for it if it satisfies you, but you should listen to the professionals that have far greater technology and understanding concerning such matters, such as, oh I dont know... NASA.  You think they're hiding some new info on martian life that the public just wouldn't be able to cope with?  This isn't the CIA we're talking about here.  The necessity for NASA has been a large issue for our government since it was first started.  Hiding something as important as the possible existence of other lifeforms would only hurt NASA.  They are scientists, not theologians, and it's the facts that they are concerned with.  Once the face was first discovered it was very necissary to scrutinize all possibilities.  And years later when new pictures of the formation were taken it became quite clear that it was nothing but a large natural formation that is noticably eroding.  The purpose of being open minded is to find the truth.  This study has been resolved and isn't anything to be further discussed... it's already been proven.  What is so difficult about accepting the truth about this?  Why do so many of you want so badly for it to be an actual monument built by aliens?  It's not, plain and simple, and all your theories will never prove the opposite of what has already been proven.  Don't be so foolish, it's right in front of you.

Welcome to News and Media! / Face on Mars?
July 13, 2004, 02:14:35
People, there is no face on Mars, and YES... IT IS A PROVEN FACT!  I kinda think that the people at NASA are much more equiped and intelligent then us "theory makers" are on this matter.  And that answer is really quite simple.  It was a land mark created by Mars' environment and we happened to take a picture of it when it looked like a face.  Since then (years later) we have taken more pictures of the face and it looks nothing like it did.  The answer... think of it as something like a sand dune.  It was shaped, quite by chance, into what we saw, and the winds and storms of Mars have since shown that it is now simply blowing away.  Mystery solved!  Forgive my cynicism, but if you think otherwise, you are simply and indisputably wrong, despite all theories!

It's good to be skeptical.  A questionable perspective allows us to decifer fact from fiction.  But it's difficult to do so when not even in the physical plane.  There are of course some experiments you can do to test how real the experience is, and you may have already done some.  I'm sure you've heard of the card experiment in which you lay a card on a table without looking at what it is and then viewing it astraly to determine whether or not the experience really happened.  But then there's the conciousness part of it.  If we are not in our body, then we are purely conciousness.  And conciousness is nothing but the mind (not the brain).  So it can be very difficult to tell what aspects are actual and what are being created.  After all, in the astral plane everything is thought anyways and all things created are done so by sheer will.  It's assumed by some that a clear mind is the only way to remain OOB and that any other thought will bring one back to the body.  In fact there can be many thoughts in the astral and rather then bring us to the body, instead they create what we are thinking about.  And so the question is, what is real and what are we making up?  The answer, on my part, is that I have no idea.  Origionally astral projection was a means to discover the true answers to my many questions.  What I've realized from it is that once projection is attained, it just brings more questions, only now they are on a multidimensional level.  And because everyone's experiences are different and not a single one can be proven, it could be said that either everyone is right, or no one is right.  Perhaps we'll find out once we die!
