omcasey,

The first thing I would test is if you take your link and enter it into your web browser address bar and hit enter.  If you can view your pic than you know that the link is working.  We can investigate further after that.

Can I post a question here about profile pictures? I can't seem to get any of the images to take. What are the parameters for profile pics?? Does anyone know?

omcasey,

You can check out the following conversation we had:

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_magic/crystals-t47634.25.html

I have given a detailed example on how to post pics.  The same applies for profile pics.  You have to have a website/server or other service that lets you store images.  Than you provide the link in your profile.

The Universe/Synchronicity at work...

It's funny how the Universe works and brings everything into alignment just at the right time.

Nameless, by bringing this discussion to the forefront we ended up talking about our personal guide receptions.  This was something that I hadn't posted here but ended up briefly discussing.  This brought EV to the discussion and the comments about Kurt Leland's '10 Level Dream Awareness Initiation Test'.  I had Kurt's book 'Otherwhere' in my reading queue.  It was now time and I started reading the book yesterday.  Today I read the chapter of Kurt's own dream where he went thru his own Dream Awareness Initiation Test and it was as if I was reading my own experience that I had.  If all these pieces had not played out as they did I would have read thru this chapter in the book and probably would not have seen the connection to my own experience.  I may have missed that 'Physical Reality Lucidity'.  Things just sort of clicked and made more sense to me.  So Thanks to Nameless and EV again for playing your roles in my Universal plan and Synchronicity!  :-D

EV,

I enjoyed reading your comments as well and think a sticky would be great for beginners.  You mention your 50+ years of development and I am about 3 years of development.  Although I started reading books and found this site early on a sticky with your interpretive model would have been beneficial for me to read.  I have had a couple OBE's decades ago but when I had one just 2-3 years ago I started to investigate and was trying to understand where I was and what was happening.  It took a lot of reading on this site and many books but I understood than that my OBE was a RTZ experience.  I know that putting labels on NP experiences is a whole other topic on this site but when you are first trying to grasp and understand what is happening those labels help.  For beginners, understanding that there are different levels/zones and things you can expect or not expect to do while in these levels/zones is helpful.  Also, the understanding that you may be stuck in a particular level because there are lessons that need to be learned first before allowed to move to other levels can remove frustration for people who post about being stuck and not understanding why they can't progress further.

Anyways, great comments!

elMago,

There is a short thread here called abbreviations that discusses some terms used on the forum.
NP is Non Physical.

Hope this helps and welcome to the Pulse!

Nameless,

Your experience of meeting your guides sounded great.  That would have been awesome getting the chance to speak with each of them one on one.  Someday you will get to review all those conversations you had with them as they will always be a part of your experience.  It is hard to imagine that there are so many people guiding us throughout our lives but also awe inspiring!

EV,

Thanks! It's always nice to hear encouraging and inspirational comments from experienced people on this forum.  Keeping a Dream/Experiences Journal certainly helps so you can look back and see the progress you've made but sometimes it may not be as obvious until someone else points it out for you!   :-)

As for the Guides/Helpers...I think I was given the opportunity to meet them early on because I was open to them right from the beginning.  As soon as I started having NP experiences I had lurked around this forum for quite awhile before I actually joined.  I had done a lot of reading here as well as all the books on the subject I could find.  From what I read it encouraged me to be open to having guides and helpers along the way.  I can certainly use all the help that is given to me!  I have read Kurt's book 'The Multidimensional Human' and have recently purchased 'Otherwhere' but haven't read it yet.  I have enjoyed his stuff and just finished reading some conversations on the Astraldynamics forum after googling 'Kurt Leland's 10 levels of awareness' that you mentioned.

It sounds like you wanted things to be more challenging for yourself and chose to keep the guide contact at a minimum.  Signs of a more advanced Soul!  Very cool!  I feel like the young grasshopper!

Thanks again for your guy's comments.
Cheers!

Nameless,

I haven't gone back to this experience for awhile but I have certainly noticed changes in my LD's over time.  First of all, health wise I am feeling better and believe that this experience improved my condition.  I wouldn't say a complete healing but a considerable improvement.

Secondly, I have also noticed that in the early days of when I started having LD's I would usually start off in a non lucid dream and than realize I was dreaming and I would notice a sharp shift in my awareness.  I would go from a very sleepy fog to sharper awareness as if someone was turning up the awareness dial.  Now when I have LD's it seems like I start off right from the beginning.  I don't feel that dial being cranked up anymore.

After I had this LD I had a very strong urge to meet with my guide(s).  The very next LD I had after this one I was given that opportunity.  I will briefly state here what happened.  I was outside of a potash mine and lost.  A couple of guys told me to follow them so I did.  I ended up getting trapped underground with one of them.  The walls started to close in on us and I tried to stop the walls from crushing us.  At first I was unsuccessful but once I realized I was dreaming I stopped the walls from crushing us and they than disappeared.  I was now at a reception being held for me by all of my guides/helpers.  There were tables of them all around me and I said Hi everyone.  They said Hi back.  I had counted 31 of them and was trying to remember names but that didn't work out so well!  I was only allowed to speak with 3 of them.  I was told that the others didn't want to talk to me because that would spoil things for me down the road.

Very shortly after these experiences I had with my guides I asked to be shown my next lesson I needed to learn.  It was given to me in a LD and it was short and to the point.  Basically I needed to stop asking questions...Haha!  Since than I have tried to refrain from all the questions I have and just observe as many experienced people on this forum  always say!  Great advice!  I have not yet tried the non-verbal communication but something I need to work on.

As for the dream characters vs dream guides I seem to pick up on that right away.  I always get the immediate perception that this person or that person is a guide.  There is certainly an awareness difference in the characters as well.  I have noticed some characters have that glassy eye look and don't have much of a response.  Than there are others that interact a little more but seem to disappear fairly quickly when my awareness kicks in.

The main feeling I have now looking back at these earlier experiences is that it really doesn't matter if I am interacting with aspects of myself or 'separate entities' since we are all connected anyways and part of the whole.  It's all a learning experience and all FUN!

Shineling,

Your experiences sound very cool and intriguing!  Being that you are able to AP at will do you find yourself getting bored or do you look forward to them?  I'm just wondering if you feel that you learn anything from your experiences or are they just adventures for you?  I have only experienced a few spontaneous OBE's but am dedicated to learning more about my spiritual side however or wherever that takes me.  A few nights ago I was in a Lucid dream where at one point I was given a artificial hand attached to a stick and was told to put it against my heart.  As I cupped the artificial hand with my hand against my chest I felt vibrations and saw energy/sparks and than my whole body was vibrating.  I was starting to wake up and tried to initiate an OBE but I just ended up falling asleep and went directly into a False Awakening dream.  Hopefully next time I will be able to do the exit!

Cheers!

I look forward to reading about your AP experiences!  I'm sure the sense of smell just amplifies the experience and makes everything else that much more vivid in detail!

Great work on all your projects Plume!  Your templates for your plaques and dream catchers are looking good.  I'm sure they would taste just as good if made from chocolate!  You are very creative and talented!

Hi friends,

I recently read 'Seth Speaks' and absolutely loved it!

Immediately I am attracted to the idea of biphasic sleep patterns and I feel like this is something that's been calling at me for a while for a few reasons...

1.) I wake almost every hour anyway
2.) Getting all my rest in one go always results in my body aching throughout the day.

I also like the idea of increased productivity, more energy, and potential health benefits.

My question is, has anyone here experimented with biphasic or polyphasic sleep patterns?

If so how did you find it?

And did you feel like it helped with your NP expansion and recall?

I have recently listened to the audio book 'Seth Speaks' and also enjoyed it.  I will likely listen to it again at some point but it is very long.  As for the biphasic and polyphasic sleep patterns I personally have never tried this and I think I would have a very hard time with it.  Mostly because of my regular work schedule (9 to 5 as you stated) but also the way our society is set up.  Stores for shopping/groceries, restaurants etc. are generally open days and evenings.  If you were trying to have a sleep during the evening and than being awake during the night you would be limited to what you could do.  Okay...guilty...Online shopping and Amazon delivers a lot of things to my front doorstep but just doing things like shovelling snow in the winter or cutting the lawn in the summer are things I prefer to do during daylight hours.  I find there are just not a lot of daylight hours available to do things like this when I come home from work.  Obviously this all depends on where you live as well!  Maybe someday when I retire I could give this sleep pattern a try but for now I need my 8 hour sleep cycle!

Very Cool Plume!

I will be first in line to buy one from you when you are finished!

I have been using this simple technique for a few evenings now.  The other night I was in my usual recliner chair with foot rest extended outwards.  I had my sleep mask on and my headphones on just to help keep unwanted distractions from breaking my focus.  I was doing well when out of the blue I felt the motion very quickly as I was using my feet to close the recliner chair...then I realized this was all in the NP.  I was back in the physical now and my body was still in the reclined and relaxed position with feet outstretched.  It sure didn't take long to slip my consciousness from physical to NP.

Other evenings I have tried and didn't seem able to get anywhere.  Will keep working at it.

EV...Sounds like you had a great experience at TMI.  I have read books with authors describing their experiences they had at TMI and they sounded very familiar to yours such as starting off slowly with not much happening and than what seems to be some sort of breakthrough or transformation that takes place near the end...Awesome!  Maybe I will read your book someday or have I already???   :-)

Lumaza,

Thanks for adding the link to the video you came across.  It was helpful with another explanation of how the technique works.  I will keep working on this as it is very simple to do.   :-)

Just keep it all simple. like they say "KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID"!  :-)

This one seems appropriate for me!

I tried your simple method last evening.  I sat on the sofa chair and closed my eyes (used a sleep mask as well to keep from distractions).  Within a few minutes of staring ahead I was getting lots of imagery.  My arms and legs were numb very quickly.  I saw a fern above me on a shelf.  I was moving thru a parkade when I was focusing on what was below.  None of the imagery was very vivid in detail but it was certainly there.  The refrigerator in the kitchen kicked in which startled me out of my focus.  Once I was back in again my neighbour was home and could hear her slamming the door in the house next door.  After that I had to stop as there were too many distractions.  Something I need to work on by being able to ignore the outside distractions.

Sounds like you guys are making progress with MJ's son.  That's great!  :-)

Thanks I'll look through these and see which would be a good first fit for my brother.

PlasmaAstralProjection,

I'm sure you will find something for your brother to listen to.  If the subject matter resonates with him he will continue...!

T-man.... LOL, Just purchased the two books off amazon by William Buhlman... Thank you for the recommendation.

SCHMUSTIN,

Did you buy audio or paperback?  Just curious!  I try to buy what I can in this subject on audio but unfortunately not everything is available.  There are lots of great books/authors out there but when I can't find them in audio I buy them in paperback.  I have quite the collection in both formats now.  I love the audio because I can listen while doing something else at the same time.

Here are a few recommendations for audio books:

Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self - Robert Waggoner

Lucid Dreaming Made Easy: A Beginner's Guide to Waking Up in Your Dreams - Charlie Morley

A Field Guide to Lucid Dreaming: Mastering the Art of Oneironautics- Dylan Tuccillo, Jared Zeizel, Thomas Peisel

Dream Gates - Robert Moss

Reality Unveiled: The Hidden Keys of Existence That Will Transform Your Life (and the World) - Zaid Masri

Yes, my recommendation would be 'Journey's Out of the Body' by Bob Monroe.

This book is not a technical book on how to have OBE's.  I think it is a good introduction to the subject matter since Bob describes his strange experiences he had and how he tried to investigate them further when he finally realized he wasn't ill or dying.  There are certainly many technical books out there for people practicing astral projection but I don't think that is what your brother is looking for at this time.  There are also many good audio books on the introduction to Lucid Dreaming.

Your description of your brother sounded a lot like myself a few years ago.  Even though I had a couple of OBE's over the past decades I didn't really know what happened and I was completely unaware of astral projection.  I am an avid audio book listener and a few years ago I came across Bob Monroe's books.  It sounded interesting so I thought I would give it a try.  I was hooked instantly since it helped explain my past experiences.  Whether or not Bob got things right or not isn't really the point.  I was glad I started with his books since every other audio book I've listened to or book I've read all talk about Bob.  I would have eventually read them anyways to find out who he was!  Anyways, I listen to and read as many books I can on the subject so there could certainly be better first listens but either way I was hooked.

Lumaza,

Just a couple of thoughts reading your experience.  It sounds like you were given a very difficult one since you mention that this woman was in the 'Extreme' ward and that others have failed.  Are we not all God?  Are we not all Creators?  Do we not all have the Divine within us?  Maybe this was a test for you as well.  You say that you 'Couldn't take on the form of God' but this 'Couldn't' sounds like a limitation that you and likely many others (including myself) have since this woman is still in this state.  Limitations that mankind has by putting God above us.  Hopefully this is something we can all work on!  Anyways, that was my humble 2 cents!

Welcome back!

Volgerie,

I read your post on the 'Drowned Children By The Dark Lake'.

You state: 'Although I did not stay until the ,end' and fulfilment (which is what often happens to retrievers) I might have contributed to the group retrieval of drowned children.'

When I read this I felt that you did stay until the end.  You were all chanting a mantra to raise the vibrations of the children.  As the vibrations increased the children moved on and you were sent home since you were not allowed to follow them just as Author Fred Aardema states about seeing them go into the light.  Yours was not a visual but it was a vibration.

Well done!

But as the night deepens all else falls quite when the master of the night makes his voice heard and his shadow glides eerily over the landscape. I highly suggest if you are looking for something to stir your soul or raise your hackles either sit outside in a dark corner for a spell or pull up YouTube (with all the house lights off of course) and search for the sounds of OWLS. Those things can scare the bejeezus out of you and the scariest one of all is called the Barred Owl.

Words of warning, don't sit outside in dark clothes wearing a fuzzy hat less you won't to get attacked. Just saying.

Very strange to read your post about the Owl!  I just finished listening to the audio book 'Stories from the Messengers: Accounts of Owls, UFO's and a Deeper Reality'.  All about Synchronicity, Owls and UFO's!   If you are going to be sitting outside looking at owls, you should probably look out for those UFO's at the same time!

Sounded like a cool experience!  Personally, I don't believe there are any coincidences.  All those sunflowers however you received them were all meant for you urshebear!
