Thanks, Tal.  :-) I did consider posting it in Astral Chat at first.

Can anyone recommend a way for me to get in touch with my spirit guide? Sometimes, when I'm projecting, I'll ask for help. I usually don't seem to be given any help, but the last time I asked for help, I did think I made some progress, so I wondered if my guide might have responded.

But what I'd really like is to actually hear my spirit guide speak to me. How do people contact them?

Maybe members from both sites could join the other site and try to clear the air?

I always like things to be friendly and peaceful.  :-D

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Jonas Ridgeway

I wasn't sure where to post this, as it's not discussing an astral experience, but discussing an astral projection forum. I decided to post it here, since the post is relevant to astral projection, after all.

Anyway, has anyone here been to Jonas Ridgeway's site? I recognise kiwibonga from Jonas's old forums...I was Ralph P. Carrington there. Jonas has recently started up some new forums, and I've re-registered there (SkippyI.)

His new forums have only just started, so they're not really that busy (although I'm hoping that will change) but he has a good website, and I think he's a nice guy. It's funny...I always thought he was Australian, and I only found out about a week ago that he's actually American - from Eugene, Oregon, where Steve Irwin's wife Terri comes from.

It's a stereotype, and they're usually quite inaccurate, although I'd imagine it is true of some women. I'm a girl, but I don't consider myself a gossip hound.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Family Ties on DVD!!!

I haven't really seen any episodes with Andy in them. Quite a lot of people seem to feel it jumped the shark in the fifth season, when Andy aged from about 18 months to a 4-year-old. Although, I have heard some people say that they still enjoyed the show with Andy, and that they liked his relationship with Alex (him idolising Alex, and all that.)

Plus, Andy is one of my favourite names, probably because I like Andy Gibb.

Do you guys like the show?

I watched two episodes last night - 4 Rms Ocn Vu and Don't Kiss Me, I'm Only the Messenger. The former is really funny; it's the one where Alex turns the house into a hotel while Steven and Elyse are away to pay for the damage to the car after Mallory crashed it into a telephone pole. The money starts rolling in, and Alex rents out the rest of the rooms, and he, Mallory, Jennifer and Skippy are forced to cater to everyone, and Steven then comes home early to find about two dozen strangers having a party in his living room, along with a kangaroo!

The latter is full of Skippy (who I love.) Skippy temporarily forgets his crush on Mallory and falls in love with her friend Jane. He asks Alex to talk to her for him, which Alex does, and it turns out that Jane has been in love with Alex since she was a child. Every time Alex tries to talk about Skippy, they end up kissing. Eventually, Alex makes a date for the three of them at a restaurant, hoping that Skippy and Jane will hit it off, but he and Jane kiss again while Skippy is in the bathroom. He returns and witnesses this (despite Mallory's attempts to distract him by kissing him herself.) But being Family Ties, everything works out.

It's a very good show.

I noticed their are many hostile undertones between Astral Society and Astral Pulse? Why, they are both nice places?

I didn't know that, and I go to the Astral Society website too. I've never seen anyone mention it there.

Are there many Astral Pulse members that are also members of Astral Society? Do they not get along with the other members there?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Family Ties on DVD!!!

The first season of Family Ties is going to be released on DVD on 20th February 2007.

I'm really pleased about this news, and hope to get it. It was originally announced over two years ago that the first season would be released, but for some reason, nothing happened.

I think it's a darn good show, so I hope all seven seasons will be released.

Here's the cover art:

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Too Tired?

Smooth, do you work on the weekends as well?

If you don't work at the weekend, then that would obviously be a good time to practice, as you probably wouldn't be feeling so tire, although you'd probably want to practice more than two days a week.

Maybe you could drink some coffee before going to bed? Not a huge amount, that will keep you awake for ages, but maybe a small amount of mild coffee that might stop you going to sleep for 45 minutes or so?

It's really my fault that we've gone a bit off-topic.

Sorry, guys. Back to spiders. I certainly hope I never see them whenever I get into a trance. I want nice, warm, safe, cuddly images.

And then Marv gets wacked in the chest with a crowbar.. is that the scene?  OUCH!

That's right, but it's actually Harry who gets whacked in the chest - the spider lands on him after Marv leaps, screaming, to his feet, and falls on Harry's chest. Marv brings down his crowbar on it, and misses. Then Harry clutches his chest in pain, yells at Marv, hits him a few times with the crowbar, and they run up the stairs after Kevin.

When I was 7, I wanted to marry Maculay Culkin. I'd love to do that kind of stuff to burglars!

I'm a little scared of spiders (if they're really big), although I did like the tarantula in Home Alone - you know, the one Kevin uses to get one of the burglars (Marv) to let go of him. Marv is hanging on to his leg as Kevin is trying to run up the stairs, Kevin sees the spider walking across the stair, grabs it, and puts it on Marv's face. Marv gives a huge scream.  :-D

I love Home Alone. And Home Alone 2 for that matter. I can't have Christmas without them.

I love the lyrics to Vincent, by Don McLean.

Starry starry night,
paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summers day
with eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
sketch the trees and the daffodills
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
in colors on the snowy linen land

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

Starry Starry Night,
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
reflect in Vincents eyes of  china blue.
Colors changing hue.
Morning fields of amber grain,
Weathered faces lined in pain
are soothed beneath the artists loving hand

Now i understand
What you tried to say to me
and how you suffered for your sanity
and how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now.

For they could not love you,
but still your love was true
and when no hope was left in sight
on that Starry,Starry night
you took your life as lovers often do.
But I could've told you Vincent,
this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you

Starry ,Starry Night,
Portraits hung in empty halls.
Frameless heads on nameless walls,
with eyes that watch the world and cant forget.
Like the strangers that you've met.
The ragged men in ragged clothes.
The silver thorn of bloody rose
lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow

Now I think I know
what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen.
They're not listening still
perhaps they never will.

The tune is beautiful too. It's about Vincent Van Gogh, and you really feel for him. Don McLean is really good with lyrics; his song American Pie (which is about Buddy Holly) is further proof of this.

I've never actually consciously projected before, but was reminded of something that has occasionally happened to me as I have been lying in bed, approaching sleep.

This hasn't happened often, but sometimes, when I've been lying in bed, drifting off, I've felt a sudden falling sensation, and then a sort of jerk, and then I'm wide awake again. What I was wondering, was, is this falling sensation my astral body separating itself from my physical body, and is the jerk its being jolted firmly back into my physical body?

I'm not sure. It's only happened a few times...probably only several times a year. I've never been quite sure what it was, but after I learned about atral projection, I wondered if this was the explanation.

When practicing, I tend to use the Rope Technique quite a lot, as it seems to have more of an effect on me.

However, as I continue to "pull" myself up the "rope", my body starts to tingle and shake quite violently. I'm assuming these are the vibrations that a lot of people talk about getting (but maybe they're not? Can anyone say for sure?) but this alway ends up hindering me. I can't continue with the Rope Technique with my whole body shaking and tingling (it also gets to the point where I'm holding my breath, which is uncomfortable.) I've no idea how to make this stop, or to work around it. Does anyone have any advice?

I do try other techniques...but they don't seem to work very well either.

Quote from: BOATS on October 15, 2006, 02:10:21I do not know for certain if I was in a so called F3 environment or F2 with overlay as Frank would say.  I was actually in this house for what I would guess ten minutes.  I did encounter one person I recognized as the Australian Steve Irwin sitting in a recliner laughing and he said hi to me.  I became a little frightened at this point a willed myself back.  I would be interested if anyone knows weither Mr. Irwin ever traveled to Bali or liked vacationing in Asia.

Boats, in answer to your question, I believe Steve did travel to Bali. I read that after the Bali Bombings in 2002, he helped comfort the victims.

May I ask why you became frightened at this point? (I'm assuming you weren't scared of Steve. :-D) He's such a nice person. I'm glad you saw him, if only briefly. And it was nice for me to read that, as it makes me realise that he's probably having a lot of fun.

Welcome to Members Introductions! / Hello
November 09, 2006, 11:35:01
Hello everybody, I just registered here today. As you can see, I'm a Bee Gees fan and a Steve Irwin fan. I haven't heard much of Andy Gibb's (the Bee Gees' younger brother) music, unfortunately, but I've read quite a lot about him, and he seems to have been a really sweet person (plus a cute little boy.)

My favourite TV shows are Frasier, Cheers, Taxi and Arrested Development. I named myself Skippy after the character of Skippy Handelman on Family Ties.

I've been interested in astral projection for a long time, but haven't really practiced much lately. I would LOVE to master it. It sounds like so much fun!

I can't think of anything else to say about myself at this point, so I'll draw this message to a close.

I really like the lyrics to I am the Walrus by the Beatles. It's crazy stuff!
