Hi Sarah,

Wonderful post, thanks for sharing... thank you  :)

As you know I am more familiar working with communication between the physical and non-physical i.e mediumship. Although I have had the odd recollection of rescue and retrieval type work in that I have been aware of being accompanied by a helpers or guides to certain similar situations (usually disaster scenarios) and been shown the good work that goes on following such events to aid people passing over.

More honestly I am not really qualified to give anything approaching an expert opinion on this (regarding myself as a learner). No doubt Frank or someone with similar experience will be more able to proffer a meaningful interpretation for you.

Kind thoughts,

Stephen

Hi Ferreus,

A great place to start is to read about the story of the Findhorn community on the bleak north coast of Scotland. Where for over 40 years trust and faith in imagination is said to have helped enable the establishment of a garden of wonderful plants - many that should never had right to grow in what could only be described as barren sand dunes!

Here are a couple of books worth looking up 'The Magic of Findhorn' by Paul Hawken and 'The Findhorn Garden' by The Findhorn Community.

Blessings,

Stephen  :)

Hi Gemma,

Notifications work fine for me!

I checked your profile and your preference tag is set correctly for topic replies. It might be worth checking your Watched Topics list, and the settings for the junk mail filter on your email client i.e. in case it is filtering out mails from Astral Pulse :!:

Hope this helps,

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Death of John Peel
October 26, 2004, 18:15:02
Quote from: SelskiJohn Peel, Radio 1 DJ in the UK, down-to-earth, unassuming, music man died today.

He paved the way for such bands as The Undertones, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, and many many more "independent" music bands.

If it wasn't for him, thousands of people wouldn't have heard their favourite tunes.

He was a "legend" and should have been knighted.  He was very much a family man and wasn't afraid to let this be known.

He shall be missed by many who never even met him.

A question.  If thousands upon thousands of alive people are thinking about someone who has just passed on, how does this affect the recently deceased?

Sarah

I bet he will be having a real ball and taking the accolades he rightly deserves. He will no doubt be spinning disks in the radio station in the sky now... I wonder if we can tune in... you never know!

Blessings,

Stephen  :)

Hi Dreamosis,

Sorry to hear your car is totalled, but more importantly you need to (if not already done so) see your doctor to be sure you have covered all angles.

I have had whiplash/hyperextension a couple of times including a quite nasty one about 15 yrs ago. If you are experiencing any tingling in the extremities (like pins and needles) you may have some nerve damage.

Best to get it checked out!

In the mean time wishing you well,

Stephen

Hi all,

Dry skin brushing is a technique advocated by Franz Bardon in Initiation into Hermetics. Additionally is it (and had been) a traditional method used in natural health practice as an aid to detoxification. In addition to a reasonably balanced (vegetarian diet) I have been using the technique for about a year now, and have noted significant changes in skin condition (e.g. remission from very several years of putting up with eczema) and increased energy flow overall.

For anyone interested the article below illustrates the benefits one can derive from such practice: -

'The skin is an organ of elimination just like the kidneys and the colon. More than one pound of waste products are discharged through the skin every day.
If the skin becomes inactive with its pores chocked with millions of dead cells, then impurities will remain in the body. The other eliminative organs, mainly the kidneys and liver, will have to increase their labour and will eventually become overworked.
If toxins and wastes begin to build up in the tissues because the kidneys and the liver cannot cope with their job, then sooner or later disease will follow. Such is the responsibility to keep a healthy and well functioning skin.

We do need to wash, perhaps even more than we realised. But does that ritual with the soap and water actually do the job? Of course it's still fun to jump into the tub, but once you start to skin brush, you won't need to use all that harmful soap. That, in itself, will make a lot of difference to the quality of your skin.
The skin-brushing itself - dry of course, not in the bath - will change the health of your whole body. Circulation, skin softness and quality, skin infections and irritations, whole body freshness, your level of stimulation, the prevention of colds, and you personal rejuvenation are all areas of improvement you can look for, when you make it to a regular habit.

To brush the skin, start at the soles of the feet and work your way up your legs, your front and your back, brushing as vigorously as you feel able. Then do your hands and up your arms. Focus the brush strokes, when doing your chest and upper back, towards your heart. Don't do your face, but give the back of your neck and your scalp a good go. For hygiene reasons you need a separate brush for each member of the family, and of course, you need to wash the brush itself every couple of weeks.

Dry skin-brushing is recommended to stimulate lymph and blood circulation for the removal of impurities under the skin surface.' Source http://www.bestcare-uk.com/  (apologies as was taken from an advert).

Apologies for the length of the post, but I have a vested interest as a student of Naturopathic medicine. So I am also interested to see if anyone else has enjoyed benefit from this as well?

Best,

Stephen

New Everyman series on BBC

Mediums: Talking to the Dead

'Gordon Smith, 'psychic barber' They say they can talk to the dead, prove there is life after death and deliver messages to the grieving from beyond the grave. With extraordinary access, Talking to the Dead lifts the veil on mediumship in Britain and follows four different mediums as they give sittings to the bereaved, investigate hauntings and train aspiring mediums to hone their skills.'

For my part I have been lucky to see Gordon Smith work on a number of occasions and have taken workshops with under his tutelage and am more than confident that he is absolutely genuine (forgive the name dropping). Blind medium Sharon Neill is also worth looking out for, although I have not seen her work live and only via her TV appearances [:)]. As to the Hamilton-Parker couple I retain the right to remain silent and therefore non-judgemental [xx(]

Should be an interesting set of programmes to entertain and will hopefully have at least some educational if not spiritual value.

Cheers,

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Mind Control & Cults
August 26, 2004, 09:12:00
Hi all,

I have always found it interesting how individuals and groups attempt to exert influence on others and attempt to gain their trust and place them under their so called benevolent control.

I went through an experience of this kind at school during my teens. Attempts to make one feel part of the group included been made to join in school concerts where wailing Irish Nationalistic/Jingoistic sing along would be accompanied by fever pitched background drumming. Needless to say these dirges were full of tired auld sentiment about the Homeland, and recent martyrdom of Saint like heroes of the Irish cause etc.

Luckily for me (although not some others) my family background was liberal in terms of politics and religion, and being from a mixed religious and cultural background I never felt or wished to become part of the pack of wolves as it were. In my later teens I enjoyed membership of a cross Religious/Community group of students called 'Schools Together', and as such was able to find common ground with other kids from as wide a religious/educational and social background as was possible in Ulster in the late 1970's. I am pleased that some of the people met in those times are still friends to this very day!

Although a few might perceive me as some sort of New Age bumpkin – I am actually cautious and quite aware of the personal dangers of becoming involved in with coercive mind control groups. For instance I had pleasure in preventing a friend from becoming involved with a 'Church of God' type group in the early 80's and had several escapes from individuals involved with an 'AMWAY' like organisation in the 90's.

In recent years as I began to take on a more serious interest in personal spirituality, I had touched base with and again avoided becoming subject of the control of several other cult like groups. Although I feel I have been lucky, but appreciated that some are not so resilient!

Have you or someone close to you had to deal with escaping the clutches of mind controlling groups, or are trying to escape and or come to terms with life on the outside?

All the best,

Stephen

P.S. There are more than a few Anti-cult organisations mostly Christian, but this resource is better than most. http://www.factnet.org/

OBE - Friday 30th or Sat 31st July morning circa 09:30am – 10:30am

I had been stopping over for a few days with friends and retired around between midnight and 1am in the evening. Awoke around 8am refreshed and pottered around for a while and did some reading etc! As no one else had arisen by about 9am I decided to attempt some OBE practice. To assist in prevent me from going to sleep I lay down with my head and shoulders raised by pillows. As there were no curtains in the room I used an eye pillow to cut out any ambient light and was positioned feet facing more or less to the West. I found that an old technique based on one of Douglas Baker's methods I had used in my teens had worked recently, and thought it might be worth trying it again on this occasion.

Basically it involved tensing and relaxing each part of the body in turn. This is complemented by breath awareness and followed by bringing one's awareness to each primary chakra from base to crown in turn. I tend to make one inhalation and exhalation per energy centre. After this I brought my attention to the brow and allowed the breath to fall to a natural rhythm. But feeling slightly sleepy I rolled initially onto my left side and then finally on to my right. This seems to add a deeper sense of physical relaxation and the focus on the brow helps me to retain concentration and awareness. The focus seemed to move to a position about 6 to 8 inches in front of the brow and as this occurred I seemed to perceive a semi opaque mist (sometimes this appears as an array of colour), although this time it seemed to be simply shades of grey. Again to prevent myself from falling asleep I deepened my breathing and simultaneously I slowly recited the 'Om' mantra mentally (I think this was in the Baker book). At this point the classic vibrations (medium in strength) started and I allowed myself to roll with them quite comfortably. Very shortly thereafter I found myself hanging in a horizontal position as if about 1 to 2 feet above my physical body and my perception of the room became clearer!

With realisation of having apparently made successful exit came a wonderful sense of exhilaration! I briefly looked around the room and noticed there was a level of reality distortion as the room looked Edwardian rather than contemporary, although as per waking reality there was a double door which led on to a patio. As this was a daytime OBE or LD it was interesting to notice that there appeared to be a raised level of light.

I then chose to see if I could move around in this environment and with that thought flew out the open door way. I appeared to move very rapidly about 500 yds from the building towards a large open field (the real house backed on to fields). Shortly thereafter I spotted a young man about a similar distance again ahead and below me at ground level. I projected towards him and felt as if I had landed gently on my feet about some ten or so yards away from, but landed right side on to his position. I then turned towards him and approached (as if on foot) cautiously as so not to disturb his space.

As I went up to face this individual I noticed that he appeared to be in his mid twenties, and had middling length, somewhat unkempt curly brown to dark straw coloured hair and similar beard (on the chin only). I moved forward and mentally sent out the idea of a warm greeting and offered a hand shake. To my delight and surprise (if he was a conscious entity I am sure he may well have been as surprised as me) he returned the gesture! As contact seemed to be made between hands my vision went blank and I became aware only of a melange of fuzzy colours. At the same instant I became acutely aware of strong energetic sensations between thumb and forefinger whilst the grip appeared to be maintained. After what seemed to be several long seconds this feeling ceased.

I became aware again of the field and some hay stacks nearby (modern regular type), but had somehow relocated about 10 – 20 yds away from where I had this encounter.  I was also aware of a building coming into view (can't remember details of its form), and other people being present (about 3 – 5 individuals) as if they about to meet for a small gathering. I then decided it was time to be off and was aware, (I was moving now above ground level) of more buildings. I found myself beside a small greyish tower block which had a series of overhanging balconies and appeared to be around 8-10 stories high. I decided to fly again and found myself floating upwards. By then my level of control was fading and consciousness becoming fuzzy. The sensation of vibrations came back and I allowed them to take hold and became aware that I was back in my physical body. The sensations faded as my body consciousness became more acute. As soon as I could I noted down on paper a potted version of this experience.

Cheers,
