Well, the astral separation does sound a lot like that. Also, dreams don't only take place in the body, but they happen in the astral plane too. Just take a look around at some peoples' experiences. Their filled with dream imagery.

The thing is that the astral is governed by different laws than the physical plane. So, thoughts and the like that take place in ordinary life, manifest in much greater detail there. That's probably the reason why the dream (which continued into the ap) was about skiing--it was based on thoughts about the talk of the ski trip.

The dream stage before sleep is the hypnagogic state. A lot of people don't know this, but the astral body naturally leaves the body during sleep (the reason why some people have shared dream experiences with others). The dreams that take place during the hypnagogic state (sleep-bordering phase) continue into the astral (because hypnagogic and astral dreams are both caused by the same thing).

The AP, based on the post, does sound genuine.

One question though...can it be done again :?  :-)

Hi iNNERvOYAGER,

Faraon is said on its own. I think Faraon is the most effective of the four, which is the reason why I posted it.

Leo Volont,

I don't post just any mantras or methods till I'm sure of the source. I posted faraon because it comes with a number of other proven methods and from a very competent author with an awakened conscious. Many of his methods have been tried by thousands, if not more, people and proven to be at least, substantially, effective.

The methods are used by a number  of different esoteric orders or schools--the leading among them being gnosticweb (which seems, so far as I have seen from snooping around, to be at the forefront of esoteric investigations). Notwithstanding, all of the schools seem to have limitations.

Regardless of that fact, it's also true that there are many pseudo-esoteric (false) orgnazitions that exist with the purpose of profit and calumny, being founded upon inexperienced adepts. These people (Robert Monroe being an exception) disseminate misleading information without pragmatic basis. I'm not saying that Monroe was neccessarily an adept of the white lode, only that his methods are founded upon proven experimentation. In other words, the mantras and methods given by the vast majority of esoteric-related organization have not been experimented with by a mass number of people to prove even the least signficant effectiveness (with the exception of gnosticweb).

Still, it's a sad thing. Even the most advanced organizations who have all the knowledge, only have a small bit. Still, compare these genuine esoteric organizations to the pseudo-esoterisists who might have "good intentions" but are nevertheless usually headed by aspirants who seek fame and glamour. Our world is pitifully poor so much as esoteric knowledge is concerned. Still, I think that people should focus more on pragmatics (the things that are actually real) and work toward spiritual and metaphysical experiences (again take gnosticweb)) than fame, glamour and pseudo-piety.

Sincere apologies to those who might have experienced a feeling of derision due to the contents of this post. Still, if only people can learn to work together (scientist included) being practical to discern seeming-metaphysical things about life.

These books have many 'layers' so far as knowledge is concerned. With more experience with the topics covered in the books, more is understood in them. Read them once, learn new things...wait a while...Read them twice, it's like reading a whole new book.

Have you read Revolutionary Psychology by Samael Aun Weor? A few of the numerous books that he has written might help in the quest to answer such questions. Not all of his books are really useful (the ones written earlier on in his life have a lot of mistakes). Revolutionary Psychology, though, is one of five which are very useful and are commonly recommended for reading.

Look around the astral and obe-related areas of the forum. The "astral body" naturally leaves the "physical body" with sleep (though there is not usually awareness of this separation). This happens every night, with sleep.

Some people might have shared dream experiences, or even meet up on the astral plane with others after being conscious of the separation of the astral body from the physical (regular) one. Usually though, as most people don't remember the separation, they don't even know that the astral plane exists...

The astral plane is a part of the 5th dimension--so it might have related to you and your sister's shared dream experience.

I posted a topic about "Astral Separation with a Mantra" in the astral consciousness section of this forum. Try it if it suits you  :-)

Have you tried a conjuration of Solomon the sage? Some esoteric schools teach them for protection against negative entities in the astral. They work very well.

One of them is called the conjuration of Jupiter.
Another is the conjuration of the Tetragrammaton.

I've never tried the second one myself, but I trust that it probably works for two reasons:

1. Both have been used by a now (it would seem enlightened, not just awakened) master named Samael Aun Weor.
2. Solomon had some pretty powerful protection.

AP Symptoms With The Use of a Mantra

1. (laying down and going straight to the mantra)
- After an hour or two of saying the mantra subtle feelings begin to appear in the body of separation. Legs float slightly, at times almost undetectably--as well do other body parts.
Tip: keep saying the mantra up to about one plus hours.

2. After saying the mantra for some time, there is an apparent period of sleep difficiency (an inability to fall asleep).
Tip: remain in bed.

3. The body eventually falls asleep with a degree of mental stillness, providing for a conscious astral separation.
Tip: remain still to allow the separation to occur naturally (as it occurs everynight, although without the sleeper remaining conscious).

Note: Mantras should be done for days to weeks to really get sufficient results. They improve with practice, experiences becoming more frequent.
#33
It's not impossible...Many people learn to do it when saying mantras.
#34
The term astral separation is used in place of astral projection because the account has been observed by many that the astral body naturally separates from the physical body at the onset of sleep (the problem being, suggestably, the subjects lack of awareness during the separation process). Following that, there is another problem: the subjects lack of a sufficient enough degree of awareness on return to recall memories). Astral projection, here, is deemed inaccurate because it implies propulsion--or the implementation of unnecessary effort to bring about the separation. Albeit, though many spontaneous astral separations occur do to propulsion. Nevertheless, this post stresses, that the natural separation is achievable by simply retaining awareness as the physical body experiences dormancy (falls asleep)

Mantra FARAON

A mantra might help to get past subconscious impediments when trying to still the mind for an astral separation. The things which are seen in the transition period of the astral bodies separation from the physical one as images and sounds are onsets of the actual dream occurrences that take place in the astral plane. Such images, sounds, sensations, etc. are the reason why most people have vague or semi-real astral experiences. The astral can appear far more substantial with the removal of dreams.

With a mantra it is possible to fall asleep consciously. An estimate of how long it might take to do a mantra is around an hour. Also, mantras can have the effect of causing lucid dreams.

Pronunciation:

FA (as in Far)

RA (as in Far); the R is trilled like a motor.

ON (as in Stone)

Each phrase of the mantra is chanted prolonged, mentally:

1. First, lay in a comfortable position, or sit in a comfortable posture or chair.

2. Inhale slowly and deeply. Then, slowly exhale (mentally) saying FAAAAAAA

3. Inhale again, and again slowly exhale (mentally) saying RRRAAAAAAA

4. Once more inhale, (mentally) saying OOOOONNN upon exhalation.

5. The mantra is (mentally) said on and on repeatedly.

Inhale...
FAAAAAAAAA(exhale)

Sounds like an accomplishment   :-)

The only thing is now, can it be done again?

A simple thing to do, to momentarily get past the subconscious interference, is by saying a mantra (it's not bound to work all the time--with routine and enough practice it will though).

On the other hand, the experiences will still likely be short. That's where working to be more aware through the senses in the day kicks in (that helps to get past the interferences).

There is no quick way, though, if that's what's being sought after...

Practice, practice, practice is all that can be said  :|

There are a lot of reasons why people don't have continuous 'conscious' astral projection experiences. One such reason is that subconscious activity interferes with the natural sense-awareness.

There are practicioners in the world who meditate for pretty good periods of time to momentarily 'transcend' the subconscious. This is what people call a state of absolute awareness (without mental influence)--I don't say Zen because that term is now used more loosely...

Of course, what is percieved as mental influence is simply the resistance to free-flowing thought. In such a state thinking becomes automatic (it's not neccessary to concentrate to think).

Subconscious interference is the first part to get past. After that, when and if the body falls asleep what people call "astral projection" naturally occurs--the astral double's nightly routine of separating from the physical body.

Another reason why people 'seemingingly' don't have conscious astral experiences is the level of sense-awareness on return. Subconscious activity also comes in to play in the situation of return. With enough awareness it's possible to remember just like remembering anything else in daily life. With a lot of subconscious interference there is less awareness. Also, the subconscious interferes with the memory.

The living being, beyond the subconscious is conscious and is like a genie with extraordinary powers. The subconscious is the lamp. When the lamp is broken the genie can perform wonders. When the lamp is still there (in a schizophrenic sort of way) the lamp toys around with the genies desire. It pretends to offer the genie power--to make him a God (as did the serpent in the bible if you know that story). On the other hand, all those powers the lamp-serpent displays are really the genie's, but the genie doesn't know that...So the genie eats tuna sandwiches, when really there is the latent possibility of dining fine.

That has more to do with en-lightenment though (the accumulation of the light of the spirit--essence particles from which consciousness emanates).

Astral projecting is a different thing (that simply requires momentarily getting free of the subconscious, not lastingly 'extracting' essences).

There are methods that I've seen taught by at least 4 to 7 different awakened masters of this current age (in the past 50 years) that teach the freeing up of essences from the subconscious. With that--enlightenment--astral projection should apparently come naturally.

Well, if someone's being aware through the senses while the astral projecting it means they are projecting consciously. The concept of 'lucidity' is kind of ridiculuous for a couple of reasons.

First, lucid means clearity. Lucidness is just consciousness (awareness through the senses). It's possible to be in the astral with a pretty good amount of awareness without understanding that one is in the astral.

Second, there are some people that even though they are in the astral and know they are (most dreams take place in the astral) they still do ridiculous things to try to prove where they are (though they know they are flying, passing through walls, etc.).

The concept of lucidity is flawed. Lucidity is just being aware through the five senses (awareness can occur to a lesser or greater degree).

I know of people who have to go through certain ordeals in the astral with about as much lucidity (sense awareness) as they have in the physical world. Yet, they still don't know that they're in the astral.

Also, there is another factor. That's forgetfullness (but that also seems to tie in to lucidity--consciousness)

For those who might have tried the method, do you mind sharing what might have happened when holding the three-fold attention for 15 seconds?

What happened to the level of awareness through the senses? Did it remain constant? Did it peak? Did it fall?

What does the method imply about the level of constant awareness through the senses throughout the day? Is it constant? Or is it subtly interrupted?

QuoteLet's begin by developing attention, being more attentive to the five senses. This can and should be done while reading. In fact, it should and can be done any time:

Exercise 1 (Three-Fold Attention)

1. First, begin by bringing the attention to floor, 'notice' the ground under foot. Do this while still looking at the book and reading, and continue to do it after reading this step. When it can be done for a good moment, first hold it for five seconds, and then move on, while still holding it...

2. Now, if that can be done, try something a little harder...With the attention on the floor and on the book, bring some attention to the wall, just ahead. Do it while looking at both the book and the ground...

3. Ok, hold these three objects—the wall, the floor, and the book—for ten seconds, don't loose attention to them...

Now stop. If that worked, move on to the next thing. If it didn't, try it again until it works, till the three-fold attention can be held for what seems like ten seconds.

Exercise 2 (Ticking Clock)

4. Now, if there is a ticking clock in the room, if it can now be heard after it was mentioned great, keep the attention on it while reading. If it can't be heard, hear it. Ok, while hearing it, direct attention to the ground. Now see the ground and the book and hear the clock all at the same time for fifteen seconds (listen to 15 ticks of the clock to tell)...

If it can be done longer, keep doing it, till just the slightest attention is lost (do it as long as possible, up to 20 seconds if possible)...

Now stop. Notice how easy it is to tune out? To loose attention to the senses?

Maybe try to be more aware in life through the senses (all 5)...maybe that will help to get the message. The key is to get the message of the dream intuitively--to 'sense' it.

About such Consciousness, though being of an individual unified nature

He declared, and didn't deny, but he declared, "I am not the Christ
[not being full in spirit/consciousness]."

They asked him, "What then? Are you Elias?" He said, "I am not[being Elias, but not being Elias completely--not being full in spirit]." "Are you the prophet?" He answered, "No [not being Elias completetly, without 100% essences]."

They said therefore to him, "Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"

He said, "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness [Elias ecompassed with egos--the subconscious],'Make straight the way of the Lord,' [the christ, who is the full light--100% essences of consciousness] as Isaiah the prophet said."

And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

John Is Elias

For this is he of whom it is written, Behold, I will send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he[John not having 100% essences, as he in the kingdom has 100%]. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffered violence, and the violent taketh it by force. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if ye will receive it, THIS IS ELIAS, which was to come."

The term christ (anciently) denotes holy spirit, absolute being, enlightened--100% essences; no subersive natures--no subconscious.

Sounds like a bunch of information. Could be true, could not be. Although, time is merely a relation of events and occurences. Can change the interval of changing occurences and their relations to one another. That doesn't neccessarily mean that time on the Earth has sped up.

Also, many theories abound on the apocalypse. I've alread seen atleast 2 or 3 different versions of the Mayan Katun. One says the end is around 2043. It also says it's merely a cycle, which the world has been through so many times. Theories, so many Theories ...

The true focus, perhaps, shouldn't be to marvel on 2012, merely to work toward personal development in the higher dimensions. The event might pass, 2012, just as was marveled Y2K, but then there will be not any real significance; the only thing that will matter is the time that was spent worshipping such an event and not making any true metaphysical progress.

The dream sounds like it might have been symbolic in nature, if it had any significance besides that it was a figment of the subconscious. I've read accounts of hypnotists hypnotizing people to pull back memories from years ago. Some people pull back true, undoubtable, memories. On the other hand, other people pull back false memories. This is because of the false impressions that the hypnotists bestow upon the subject whom is being hypnotized. These impressions can be of a deliberate nature: the hypnotist expresses, aloud, the possibility of past lives.

On the other hand, some of the impressions which the hypnotist bestows upon the subject are subversive: nothing has to be said allowed for the impressions to be transferred from the hypnotist to the hypnotized. Merely the hypnotists ideas eminate like an echo set off in a cave. The echo spreads. In this manner the hypnotised subject becomes then subconsiously infected by the false ideas of the hypnotist and recalls false memories.

The same can happen with dreams, as the astral plane (the realm of dreams) is the abode of the subconscious. The subconsious can bend dreams to seem of an intuitive nature, though they're not. It has been rightly said before that "dreams are a reflection of the psyche". That means any influences which happen in the day can affect dreams: words, movies, places visited...just name it.

On the other hand, though, some oracle (prophecy) dreams are truly genuine. Although, such dreams typically relate exclusively to the dreamer and are symbolic in nature, regarding the individual dreamer's development on a spiritual level. Possibly due to the nature of the subconsious, higher beings have to communicate symbolically to get a message across. If they communicated without symbols and intuitive hunches then the subonscious could just as easily mimick and even obscure true messages. Try, perhaps, to decipher possible symbolic meanings behind the dream; there might be a lot to it besides what appears blatantly obvious.

Units of measurement derive from objects and occurences:

Year - The time it takes the earth to move 1 time around the sun
Foot - In ancient times was given as the size of a King's foot
Second - Some sort of relation to occurence

Essentially there is no time because time is in relation to objects and occurences - 24 hours is the amount of time it takes the earth to make a full rotation.

The clock is what creates the concept of time, although it is only a relation to events.

Also, if Schumman's resonance is traceable at a higher frequency, it is because corresponding events are not speeding up. For one thing, the devices used to measure the change are unaffected. Were they affected, it would be virtualy impossible to detect the change...maybe the change could be detected by something that is outside of and not influenced by the physical plane (the human consciousness--essences).

Personally, though, from my perspective, having dealt with mental factors of time (because time is events), my perspective has many times altered according to my state of mind. When bored, time seems to go by slowly. When facinated, it "speeds up". Although, really there is not change. I've been fascinated by something and another person bored. The same person said: "time is going by so slowly". I didn't think so.

At the state of zen though (this is the constant state), some people call it the state of "Awareness"--it's human consciousness without mental influences--events always flow--there's no way for them to "speed up". It's hard to explain...if it can be explained in words--"time, just doesn't exist"; it's a concept made up by the mind. When the mind is stilled, for that instant it temporarily ceases to exist. I've meditated for several hours and no apparent "time" has gone by.

This is an intriguing observation. It's not necessarily concretely true, but it's notable nonetheless.

Years ago I used to practice the traditional eastern sanskrit root mantras for the exercising of the chakras. I practiced the mantras for many months. A curious fact was that, while practicing the root mantra OM (which is said to stimulate the frontal (third eye) chakra) I used to hear a chakral echo resonating from around the region of my upper chest (where the heart chakra is said to be located). At the time, such an occurence had no significance.

Years later, I began practicing untraditional western mantras, taught by an awakened being named Samael Aun Weor. According to Samael, the root mantra O (the vowel sound) corresponds with the heart chakra: which explains why I was hearing the echo coming from the region of the upper chest. Samael also gave corresponding consonants which are said to further amplify the vibratory affects of root mantras (according to him the root mantras for the major chakras are all vowels). In accordance with their hearable resonance in bodily regions, so far this has proven to be true.

Try recalling memories just normally...then try to recall them when doing daily sessions of the mantra A. According to Samael, the root mantra A stimulates two chakras located near the region of the lungs, up along the spinal column, which hold memories of past lives.

To find out more about Samael's mantras read his book entitled
The Three Mountains.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: To Sleep
September 06, 2006, 16:59:48
It's not a philosophical question or metaphor, but it's a pscyhological (practical) question. In other words, the being should ask the consciousness the question "How to wake up?". What fundamental communication does the being have other than expression? The being, in essence, should learn to express itself, through waking consciousness...

A topic that could explain more of this is posted in Spiritual Development section of this forum. It's neccessary to be practical with waking up, not philosophical because traditional philosophy has a sendentary (sleeping) nature. How many buddhist philosophers meditate? Ah ha! They don't have the truth. The truth is found in expression. Also, sedentary nature easily obscures the truth.

A wise author once said, "Just as the mind can make a mountain out of a molehill, it can also make a molehill out of a mountain". So, the mind can convince of anything being true. The trick, then, is getting beyond the mind, to the being (to expression).

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Attention
September 06, 2006, 16:43:34
QuoteThere are many keys to achieving astral projection.

First, there is the necessity of sustained consciousness. It's typical while laying in bed, with the eyes closed, and doing nothing to become unconscious and fall asleep. So, what we want to focus on is how to fall asleep without loosing consciousness.

Who has ever had a daydream? With a real daydreaming consciousness is lost of everything that is around—the entire outside world. There is a dream taking place in the day. Minor daydreams can be considered any mental activity which carries the attention away in the day. With that complete consciousness of the outside world is not lost, but focus on a task might be lost, resulting in the stopping of the task. Consciousness is only lost of the task, not things in the surrounding world. For example, while writing something important down the hand, unknowingly, stops and thoughts of something that happened the other day begin to enter the mind.

A second key to falling asleep consciously is attention. It helps to have the attention on something so that consciousness is not lost. While attention is on something it is possible to notice that it is repeatedly taken away by random thoughts. Attention builds with continuous use. With continuous use, it's possible to get through the random web of thoughts.

One key to maintaining attention is reciting a mental phrase or sound. There are also some phrases which can have psychic effects. These are known as mantras:

The mantra that's going to be explained empowers a certain organ of the astral body. It should also help with maintaining attention while falling asleep.

When trying to astral project one important thing to avoid is disturbing the body, so that sleep will come (because astral projection comes with sleep). So, mantras which are used to sustain attention while falling asleep are said in the head, not aloud (so as not to disturb the body).

Also, this mantra, unlike most others, is best done mentally. With a regular mantra we are usually saying an elongated phrase or vowel. We inhale deeply, then slowly say the mantra each time that we exhale. With this mantra, though, there are no inhalations or exhalations, though it can help to first say it aloud to know what it should sound like mentally.

1. While lying in bed for sleep simply imagine saying the vowel sound E (as in see). Like this: EEEEEEEEEE...but in the mind the sound keeps going, whereas aloud it would be necessary to stop for a breath.

A good amount of time to start out with when building attention might be between 10, 15, or more minutes (depending upon whatever is comfortable). Personally, when starting out with mantras I said them for up to 45 minutes or an hour. In any case, attention develops with practice. It's possible to find, when first learning to concentrate, that its difficult to stay focused for ten minutes. On the other hand, it's only possible to get out of it what is put in. If a lot of practice is spent on attention, it will build. If little, its not difficult to guess what will come out of it.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / To Sleep

QuoteMost people have dreams...Imagine, then, having an unusually long dream in which there is not even a gleam of suspicion that a dream is taking place. Imagine...walking to and from places, eating, even sleeping in the dream, and not even knowing that it is occurring? In this dream distant lands are traveled to, many people are met, and several years go by without even the slightest bit of cognition, suspicion, of a dream...
Imagine every now and then getting glimpses of the waking world. At instances, there are vague or clear misgivings--temporary escapes from the dream. With these considerable experiences one might ponder the possibility of the dream. That is, one might consider that there is some factor which is restraining the level of consciousness in waking moments.
What is it to sleep? Is sleep simply the process that occurs each night in the transition from waking consciousness to a void of emptiness and temporary inexistence? If it is possible to sleep at night, to fade, consider the possibility of also 'sleeping' in the day...
