I agree. This is a great service. I'm currently undergoing the Gold Reiki attunements.

If you can't get the books through your local bookstore, you can order books from Amazon using check or money order. Both the US & UK Amazon sites offer this and the UK site accepts COD as well.

I was reading a book called "Love Beyond Life" just a few weeks ago and there was a story about a very small child who communicated with his deceased father on a toy telephone. This kid told his mother all of these details about the father that could not have been known. Apparently the father died before the child was even born. Toy phones (as well as real phones) seem to be a very common instrument used by the spirit world.

I once took ephedra for weight loss and I will never do it again. My heart raced and I sweated profusely even with the temperature cool. Even GNC stores are finally getting it off their shelves. For OBE enhancement I like to take a tincture of passionflower and chamomile. It's safe and helps you relax just enough.

I can't wait for this to get started. I have unfortunately reached a point where I am low on motivation...for everything. Hopefully this will get me and others like me back on track.

I agree that spending too much time in the planning stage could be detrimental. However, it would probably be unwise as well to just throw something sloppy together. I am excited about the idea and I feel like it's just the thing I need to keep my motivation high.

I posted a question about this in another thread not realizing someone had already thought of it. Great idea. I'm definitely interested in taking part.

Reading this gives me an idea. It would be great to start something like an astral club that meets periodically. Everyone who wants to be a part of this can project at a designated time and attempt to meet astrally. I know there are alot of different time zones involved in doing this but it seems like it could be possible and it would help alot of us motivate ourselves to project. I don't know very much about group work like this but anyone who does could create a blueprint. Would anyone be interested?

I especially like the research papers that are available at that site. Some of them I've been looking for for quite some time. Thanks for the link.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Happy Easter everyone
April 20, 2003, 08:19:55
Easter is just way too commercial for me, much like all the other holidays. I was in Walgreens last night and could not even get down the candy lane. There were about 30 people all crammed in grabbing small bags of chocolate that cost $4-5 each. Although I am not a Christian, I much prefer the religious aspect of Easter to the commercial bunny-and-eggs side of it.

I'm a few days late, but Happy Birthday.

I've always found it fascinating that the blind can supposedly see during nde's.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / What is a Medium?
April 11, 2003, 16:01:27
If you found out you're a medium then I guess you have the ability to communicate with the spirits of those who no longer dwell on the earth in physical bodies. However, the word medium is sometimes used for people who have the ability to channel energy for healing purposes. Can you explain how you found out you were a medium and give some more details about this? That might help people in giving you better feedback.

What Happens After Death by Migene Gonzales Wippler

The first part of the book is non-fiction but the second part is fiction. I thought the whole book was quite good myself.

I'd hate to see where his karma takes him in the next life. I don't like to wish death on anyone but the people of Iraq should be much better off without him and his sons around.

I had my first experience 10+ years ago listening to Enya(Shepherd Moons). Her music is great for relaxing and getting into a trance state.

Other good music :

Brendan Perry (Eye of the Hunter)
Enigma (especially the song 'Gravity of Love')
Kula Shaker
Clannad

I also remember reading Crick's book: The Astonishing Hypothesis : The Scientific Search For The Soul. I really don't buy into the idea that God is hard-wired into our brain and mystical experiences are nothing more than neural activity. As far as biology goes, God does nothing to help ensure survival. There seems to be no reason to think that it would benefit a species in any way. It would most likely eradicate fear of death and be counterproductive to survival. And the idea that evolution would be concerned about how peaceful our final moments are is just difficult to believe. I'm no expert on evolution but I've read Crick, Dawkins, Dennett, and others, and I can't say I'm very convinced by their arguments.

Good question. My sexual dreams often go uncompleted...much like real life. [:O]

I've never really thought about it, but indeed I can't remember having a full coherent dream that has a proper ending. It would be interesting to know why it never happens. Most of my dreams make little sense anyway though.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Hey, how do you RIP?

I personally like CDex which you can also get at http://www.download.com. It uses the LAME encoder for MP3 but you can also rip to WAV format with it.

I wish I could get the BBC here where I live. It seems like they're always doing interesting documentaries. It seems like they're also more open to dealing with subjects like NDE, OBE, and spiritual stuff.

It's all stranger than fiction. It's really hard to fathom that she might have been brainwashed sort of like Patti Hearst but it looks like that may very well be the case. I just pray that she is able to make a full recovery and work through the traumatization of the experience. I too would like to know all the details about what actually happened but I hope they respect her privacy and put her interests first. As much as she's been through I think it's better to leave her alone and let her sort it all out right now.

I have these periodically. It's like Makaveli said. I feel the falling sensation but I do not actually feel as if I really am falling from some height, if that makes sense. I always considered it fairly normal and put it down to some kind of physiological reaction in my body.

It is really amazing and happy that she is alive and was not killed by her abductor. I still shudder to think what she has gone through during the time she has been gone. It wil probably be a long journey for her getting through the trauma she has experienced.

The anti-war movement is making itself more and more irrelevant all the time. I say this as someone who opposes the war. It angers me that these idiots hit the street with their Marx and Guevara posters and "Bush is a baby-killer" signs. They are making those of us who are peaceful, patriotic anti-war activists look like communists and terrorist sympathizers. The point of these protests should be to influence the people who support the war or are sitting on the fence. People like the 70% + Republicans who support Bush and his foreign policy. You won't make an impact on these people with childish, immature, and blatantly stupid tactics like those used by those freaks who vandalised the 9-11 memorial. just my $0.02

Welcome to Astral Chat! / A Miracle for PEACE
March 11, 2003, 21:02:32
I have to say, as someone who opposes a war against Iraq, I loathe most of the fruitcakes who are hitting the streets to protest the war. I have written my Senators and asked them to oppose war against Iraq and have signed petitions and I believe firmly in raising your voice. But when I see so many people on the streets with signs that read "Bush is a babykiller" waving posters of Marx and Guevara and painting American flags with swastikas, it makes me sick. It does nothing to help avert the coming war. It just pushes the average American to support Bush and his foreign policy in the Middle East. I heard on the news today that some anti-war protesters tore down a 9-11 memorial somewhere In California. I doubt that helped the anti-war movement very much.

As for the Miracle for Peace, it's actually one of the better ideas I've heard for opposing the war. I have been practicing what Adrian mentioned, focused energy, hoping that through the collective efforts of those of us who want to confront this situation with love, we can make a real difference.
