QuoteA good scientist, regardless if they want to be a rebel, will always use experimental data from others. IMHO Tesla was one of the greatest scientists in all history.
Tesla was pretty amazing, well worth reading up on, although a lot of what's written about him sounds like science fiction (e.g. The Philadelphia Project.)

QuoteEven Tesla regarded the experimental data from other scientists as priceless. Without that data / information / knowledge one would have to completely start over from scratch.
"We see beyond because we stand on the shoulders of giants" and all that.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / On mutants and telepathy

Strepto, when someone goes through a really bad psychic experience like you describe, they can think about nothing else and they struggle to come up with an explanation, and you have described your explanation of mutants.  Lots of other people go through horrendous experiences like yours and come to very similar conclusions, but they might say they are aliens or they might think that it is a psychic entity that influences people (Carlos Castenada's idea of Mudshadows for example.)
Cacodemon says they're 'just negs', in other words non-physical beings interfering with you psychically.
It's great the medication has helped you get your life together - your doctor probably has no belief at all in anything psychic and assumes that it has corrected a chemical imbalance in your brain so that you don't experience these 'imaginary' things any more.  Perhaps neuroleptics act as psychic suppressants, but I do know they are really strong drugs and if you ever try and come off of them you will have to do it really slowly.

In the meantime, just keep it real, don't worry about conspiracy theories -
if the planet's ruled by mutants there's absolutely nothing you can do about it :)
Have a quiet life, don't take the recreational drugs, maybe give up alcohol, and see if meditation can stop your thoughts racing so you can become stronger.

Good luck.

Hi Hadeka,

So you mean you saw him from the viewpoint of an insect flying around and landed on his nose, and at that same time a fly really landed on his nose?!?  That's really cool!  I don't think it counts as reincarnation though because fortunately you didn't die and get reborn as a fly. :D

I don't know whether Islam believes in reincarnation or not.  But you might want to look into Sufism, which as I understand it, is a 'mystical' branch of Islam.  Here's a quote from Jalalu 'D-Din Rumi, a famous Sufi poet:

"I died as a mineral and became a plant,
I died as a plant and rose to animal,
I died as animal and I was man.
Why should I fear? When was I less by dying?"

Quotehe goes around with his desciples EXCORCISING 'EVIL SPIRITS' out of sooth sayers, fortune tellers, mystics, and sorcerers.

Hi, can you provide a reference for this? I would be interested to read it.
Lots of casting out spirits but I thought all the stuff you're talking about was in the Old Testament.

I would have voted no in the poll because I think that early Christians
had a much more esoteric doctrine than made it into the bible.
I think Quantitativefool has nothing to worry about, and he might be interested to google for vatican secret archives and check out www.essene.com especially the end of book 4

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Yugas
June 21, 2004, 15:22:30
I got this quote from an e-book on pranayama available from
http://www.pranayama.org/
(The book is quite good, but this quote is not it's main theme!)

According to Sankhya, there are four yugas or ages through which solar systems pass in ascending and
descending cycles. These yugas are named kali, dwapara, treta, and satya. Kaivalya Darsanam III:24 reads,
"In the dark state of the heart, man harbors misconceptions (about everything). This state is a result of
Avidya, Ignorance, and produces a Sudra (a man of the lowest caste). He can grasp only ideas of the physical
world. This state of mind is prevalent in Kali Yuga, the Dark Age of a cycle" (HS, 77). When any inhabited
planetary system is in kali yuga, souls of a low state of consciousness will naturally be propelled to take
rebirth there. Higher souls and Yogis that choose such a locale to take rebirth will often be regarded as
prophets, miracle workers, children or messengers of God, and will, more often than not, be misunderstood.
700 B.C.E. saw the beginning of the most recent descending kali yuga. Humankind hit its lowest point of
expressing dharma 1,200 years later (500 C.E.) when the ascending kali yuga began (HS, 13). Ascending kali
yuga, also lasting 1,200 years, ended in 1700 C.E. One only needs to glance at the pages of history which
record the widespread ignorance of both the spiritual and physical sciences during the period which the
ancient rishis designated through astronomical calculation as kali yuga.
Kaivalya Darsanam sutra III:28 reads, "Entering Bhuvarloka ("air" or "the world of becoming") man becomes
a Dwija or "twice born." He comprehends the second portion of material creation--that of finer, subtler forces.
This state of mind is prevalent in Dwapara Yuga" (HS, 81). Dwapara yuga is also called the age of
space-annihilation as, through advancements in technology, the limitations of distance are overcome in this
age (AY, 194). Ascending Dwapara yuga began in 1700 C.E. and lasts 2,400 years. The advancements in
technology since 1700 C.E., which are transcending the space barrier and have made humankind aware of the
subtle electric and magnetic forces cannot be disputed. Though our planet is now about 300 years into
Page 36
dwapara yuga, humanity today is still in large the heirs of the ignorance and blindness of the preceding
millenniums of kali yuga. Our minds are capable of creating dwapara technology but we use it with kali
mentality. Even the higher ages that preceded the last descending kali yuga were not spiritually nor
technologically advanced as they were but descending portions of the equinoctial cycle. As our solar system
enters dwapara yuga fully, dwija, or "twice born" souls that comprehend bhuvar loka and thus fully
comprehend the astral world and astral body will take rebirth on our planet (HS, 81).

This is interesting as it suggests that (about now) spritually advanced beings may begin to incarnate on Earth with greater frequency.  Hurrah! for the good ones and BOO! to the baddies I say.
Don't expect them to announce themselves though.

Someone mentioned this before saying 'it may herald the start of a more enlightened age'

How about a 'remote viewing' experiment?
I have a few pictures of a location, and you can post your psychic impressions of the target here.  I will post links to the photos Fri/Sat
so you can compare results.  I'll call this target AP1.
(Formal RV structure not required.)

Hi,
Through several weeks in April I was witnessing on a continuous basis impossible things manifesting physically e.g
People and objects disappearing,
Faces of other people distorting beyond recognition,
Humanoid creatures with black holes for eyes and a mouth.
Telepathy with others, mostly evil 'people' reading my thoughts and commenting out loud on them.
Relatives/other acquaintances becoming (or have they always been?) evil and acting in obstructive ways.
'People' mirroring my actions constantly, e.g. I would go ourside and across the road someone would step out - I would pause, they would pause, I'd walk, they'd walk.  Constantly.
I saw a huge shadow fly overhead, like a massive asteroid was about to hit, but there was nothing in the sky.

Things have returned to a weird kind of normality, although there's all these entities wandering around in human form that simply are not human.  Now that all sounds crazy, but I promise you that's what happened.

I wanna know if I'm the only one who has experienced this crazy stuff?

It seems to come in waves with last months being by far the worst so far, and I get the impression we are in for an even bigger one towards the end of the year.

If other people start to experience this weirdness I just wanted to try and put together a few thoughts about how I should have dealt with this stuff better:

1) Mobile phones - at the start of this phenomenon I got weird cross talk on a mobile phone conversation with like a second voice of my friend sounding really distressed.  Don't use mobile phones.  Stop using them now.
2) The TV programs went crazy - don't watch TV if this happens to you.
3) Confusion - this is the biggie.  You are in danger of becoming so confused that you wander around aimlessly, possibly causing harm.  For me it was like whatever I did was also having an unseen effect elsewhere.  Doubling back on yourself seemed to be the main thing to avoid.
4) If what you are doing appears to be having a positive effect maybe you should keep doing it.  If it isn't maybe you should stop.

I hesitate to put down any other points in case I'm wrong - anyway it would be preferable if it simply didn't happen to you.

Someone on a different thread talking about the 'Astral War' said that by talking about it we were inviting it to happen - I'm sorry but seriously weird stuff is going on whether you want it to or not.  You may not have invited the Gulf War or 9/11 into your life but they happened anyway.

There is incredibly strange stuff going on focused on this little planet, and it seems like every type of entity speculated about in this forum has come to watch the show.

So, from reading these forums what do we have lined up for June?
Well, we have people saying big asteroids will almost certainly hit, and we have people saying the alignment with Venus will
herald a sudden awakening of psychic abilities in man.
Me? I'm gonna get fit and meditate more, 'cos I haven't got a clue what else to do.

I have a weird phenomenon that happens from time to time.  Sometimes when I wake up, usually after a bad 'dream', I see on the wall one or two spider-like creatures about the size of tarantulas.  They stay there for a while and wander around, and gradually fade.
Are these the kind of things that people say they 'take their astral swords to'?  They seem harmless enough, I wouldn't want to hurt them any more than I would a 'real' spider.  Do you think they are connected to the bad dreams or are they unrelated?

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Who has a soul?
March 12, 2004, 14:39:19
In his post regarding year 2004 predictions Oazaki said:

"Q: In Book III of his Gnosis, Mouravieff discusses what he calls "pre-Adamic humanity" and "Adamic humanity." As I read this I could see that the thing I was struggling to understand in terms of psychopathy as discussed in the Adventures Series, was exactly what Mouravieff was describing. However, he was using the Bible to explain it, and that just didn't quite work. Nevertheless, the basic idea is that pre-Adamic human types basically have no "soul," nor any possibility of growing one. This is certainly shocking, but there have been many recent scholarly discussions of this matter based on what seems to be clinical evidence that, indeed, there are human beings who are just "mechanical" and have no "inner" or "higher self" at all. Gurdjieff talked about this and so did Castaneda. So, I asked if his ideas about the two basic TYPES of humans were, as far as they went, accurate.
A: Indeed, though again, there is a "Biblical Gloss." [The pre-Adamic types are] "organic" portals between levels of density.
'This, of course, raised the issue of whether or not trying to "help" or "save" such individuals was a waste of time.
A: Pretty much. Most of them are very efficient machines. The ones that you have identified as psychopaths are "failures."
The best ones cannot be discerned except by long and careful observation. One of the longtime members of the group then wanted to know if any of us had ever encountered one of these "organic portals" and if so, would the C's identify one for the sake of instruction.
A: If you consider that the population is equally distributed, then you will understand that in an ordinary "souled" person's life, that person will encounter half as many organic portals as souled individuals."
* * * * * * *'

I would like to open this quote for discussion.
I have conflicting views on the subject - on the one hand I find it impossible to imagine that, say, even a squirrel does not have the divine spark in it, the little nutter.  On the other hand, some apparently humans seem to derive pleasure from inflicting suffering in a way that 'lower' organisms do not.  Can there really, all around us, exist beings which are 'organically' identical to us, but which have less soul than a squirrel?

There is a test which allegedly attempts to determine the difference between a sentient being and a computer program - it is called the Turing test.  Look it up.  Can anyone suggest a test that might descriminate between these different types of people, (if any such distinction really exists at all?)

I myself had a really bizarre experience that I choose to call 'spiritual' that I considered at the time to be a metaphorical description of this.  At the time, the Kabbalistic idea of The Golem was my interpretation of this, although The Golem represented a group of creations rather than an individual 'clay man'.  And rather than them being soul-less they were merely physical manifestations of a soul restricted in their own unique way as are we all.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / The Matrix
October 02, 2004, 16:43:09
Anyone belive that we could be living in a Matrix such as portrayed in as the movie??

Well, no I don't.  But having said that, it's a pretty good bet that some kind of virtual reality technology that is indistinguishable from 'reality' will evolve, somewhere, sometime.  People would plug themselves in for fun!  But I bet that if those people could be exploited by the owners of the technology, the ones who have the 'cheat codes', for their own personal ends, they would do it.

I think Matrix 1 & 2 were great action-packed films and as a bonus if it made a wide audience think even for a moment about big questions like the nature of reality that's a really good thing.

Hi halfphased - I've PM'd you the results!

I did a general reading, MJ-12 is quite right about phrasing questions, but I get the gist of what you what you wanted to ask. [:)]

Also, there should be the usual disclaimer that anything anyone tells you could be completely wrong... but you know that already!
#43
Hey! Good news.  I'd be happy to do that for you - give me a day or so.

OK, here is an encyclopedia definition, including a description of how its usage in the West was changed:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_Hand_Path

Very interesting reading, and from its conclusions, I appear to (ahem) swing both ways.

I liked Kalratri's definition...  but I guess if you ask what 'left hand path' means, it is clear that it means different things to different people.

Hi Boydster, I notice your avatar is Babaji, (are you are kriyaban?) Do you think he exhibited some of both paths as described in the link above?  Would he make a distinction?

It's part of the Qabbalistic cross - a prayer if you like.
Atah, malkuth, ve geburah, ve gedulah, le olam, Omain.
Loosely translated:
Thine is, the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever, Amen.

Hope that helps.

Basically...I agree! [:D]
