That kid looks so familiar to me. Has he done anything else?

He reminds of Gary Coleman in different strokes...

I save that for the evening when I lay down for the night. If I don't succeed initially, I can usually project through a dream or after I wake up for a drink of water or use the loo.

Yeah that's how I normally go about it. I'm just thinking if I have a nap nearer to when I sleep, get up for a while then have an attempt, when it actually comes to me going to sleep that night I'm not going to be able to! I have such a problem with sleeping patterns, it takes a conscious effort to keep myself in a normal routine. So thinking a nap at mid day or something then an attempt during the day, wouldn't interfere with my normal sleep, at least not to much anyway, I hopes! :-D

It's a difficult concept, but work on "allowing" yourself to phase and remain.
Hell, even I don't have it down.  ROFL  ;)

Its like riding a bicycle up a small hill.
You pedal up to the top, that's preparing yourself. The getting into position, itching and all sorted.
Reaching the summit you start to roll, do the technique to start losing physical awareness.
And roll down carefully using the brakes. Allowing the phase to get deep with just enough awareness.
If you pedal like a maniac now you'll go too fast and fall.
Forcing the issue will prevent the phase completing its course. You'll still fall, this time asleep. Or worse, the whole night will pass leaving frustration and a grumpy you.
Neither are suitable for an attempt.
Don't rush, the use of your brakes will get you there. Slowly but surely.

Cheers guys, I'll keep your words in mind. I'm going to sit down & have an attempt at phasing in a bit, I'll let you know how it goes!  :-)

Bedeekin, does your nap fix work if you nap like whenever throughout the day? Or does it have to be a few hours before you'd normally get some kip at night? I normally AP when I get to bed at night, but my sleeping pattern is so fragile I'm worried a nap near normal sleep time will throw my pattern right out! & it's a pain to get back to a normal pattern again.

Okay cheers, I'll give SP a shot again tonight, but nap first. Lately my method has been body asleep/mind even more asleep. *face palm*

I've basically been following Xanth's eBook for phasing, which has really been helpful, I just can't seem to stay 'there'! I've only been at it a week though, so maybe just need to put in more time practising, & I'll hopefully get the hang of it.

I'm having a bit of a problem phasing, I'm getting mixed results, I keep getting 'shot' back & my eyes open, or at best, on a few attempts now I'll phase & start exploring, but after a few minutes or so something will happen that will startle me & I'll go back to eyes wide open.

For instance, most recently it was two bright balls of light dancing around outside a window, I stepped in closer for a better look, & they carried on dancing for a bit & then quickly flew head on at each other & exploded into a massive flash of light & that startled me to wakefulness.

I started out through the mind awake/body asleep method, going through SP etc, but have never had a problem with anything like this startling me back to wakefulness, only thing that seems to wake me up is really extreme/intense sensations. Lately I'm having a dry spell though & having no success at all, so I've started trying to use the phasing method, using visuals & as I said, getting at best mixed results.

I'm practising at night, every night, when I go to sleep. The only thing I can think of is to use my senses even more & try to get a bit more grounded - any advice?

Sorry about your friend, I'll keep Jimmy in mind, & sent out the good thoughts! I hope the best for all of you. :-)

What was actually involved in the other conferences? I saw bits & pieces of one of them, & as far as I know it was only anecdotal evidence? Why were they so ignored? I know they had a lot of high up government employees all saying they would testify under oath if asked to, how does that go ignored.

What's going to be different this time, like LH said, they've done it twice already...? Can they force Gov' to disclose... what will it take? It seems to me that they will just carry on denying any knowledge.

Don't get me wrong, 'I believe', just think Gov' is going to keep it stum, until they either want to disclose it or alien's come down & directly let us know themselves!

I've come across a few articles now about how being negatively stereotyped increases the chances of you essentially 'living up to' that stereotype.

I'm almost certain I started reading your book from the English translation web-page quite a while ago, with the intention to read it all the way through, but lost the page & never managed to find it again! I guess I had to wait for IT to find ME!! :-D

I'm positive that I read your original comment, though I don't remember it, I certainly wasn't as confused as I was when I read your edit.

 Don't worry, I was just having a brain dead moment, I could have left a perfectly intelligible comment, & still would of done this. Like I said, was having a 'moment'.
#38
I basically went a bit multiple personality, & had an argument with myself about how pointless, stupid & possibly not true my original comment was, so I edited it to clear it up a bit, then I just deleted it all. I was having a bit of a 'moment'. Sorry!

Edit #2: I'm an idiot, & vow to never leave a comment on anything ever again, or speak, about anything, ever.

I say first off, be practical about your safety obviously, & take appropriate measures, alarm or what ever.

After that, I've used one tactic that has just killed fear in it's tracks for me, & that's just to let go & faaaaaaall. After you've done what you can practically do to influence any situation, whether it be security to avoid break ins, or practising for talking in public, once you've done the practical stuff, you just have to let go, & let things play out. We just can't know what's going to happen, or control everything that will happen (& even if we could, how boring would life get!) & I think considering it's something we just can't change, it's better to just be okay with that & relax. I hope that helps some how. :)

Yeah, incubus & succubus was what I had in mind.

What could account for one off missing time experiences though? I'm curious because I lost an hour & half while on a train & still haven't a clue what happened, though am reluctant to jump to alien train abduction... :P I would of put it down to falling asleep, but I was like 2 stops from my intended station then I can't remember anything in the middle, & the next thing I know I'm stepping off the train at my intended stop, except I'm stepping off on the wrong platform, I should have been on the opposite side, so I had got off a train that was actually heading in the wrong direction, towards where I had originally came from, with about an hour & an half missing give or take 10 minutes.

Is that a weird thing to happen? or do things like that just happen sometimes?

Haha! Sounds like fun. I hope you like shoes. :)

When I try to interpret my dreams I think about what has been going on in my waking life very broadly and try to draw parallels. I don't think I'm all that great at it because dreams can seem VERY random, but sometimes it's not the answer that is most helpful. It's the process of contemplating. One thing that I try to when interpreting is viewing myself as all the characters, trying to interpret everything as internal rather than external before looking at other possibilities. For example, maybe you are conflicted about something internally if you are in a fight.

Yeah definitely, because you're likely to draw parallels on things that at some level or another you view as important, whether it really related to the dream or not, you're drawn to contemplate on something you may otherwise have not. I like that, viewing it all as different aspects of yourself. I don't really try to interpret my dreams very often, but I tend to only pay attention to emotionally charged ones, and look at how my character reacts to things. I've started to keep a dream journal recently to try & improve recall, will probably get quite into interpreting, will try your view point out on some of my dreams I've got noted down. I am indeed a very conflicted personality  :|

I don't really have violent dreams any more, they're generally pretty cheerful & comical! They're supposed to so symbolic that what happens very rarely is the issue being drawn attention to, supposedly anyway... I don't really know much about interpreting dreams.

here's a short dream I had a few weeks ago if anyone wants to give a shot at interpreting it  :-D -

So I walk into an old style wild wild west bar, everything in the dream is kind of sepia tone, it was a post apocalyptic setting btw, so this big guy approaches me & challenges me to a fight for a bet, now this wasn't an aggressive fight, it was totally comical & ridiculous, so we end up on the stairs with him having the higher ground, & I grab him by the foot & lift his leg up as I walk up the steps till the bottom of his foot is facing the ceiling, but as I'm doing this his leg turns into something like a plastic broom handle/crutch & he goes tumbling down the stairs & I win... yay me!

So he comes over to give me my winnings for beating him, he lifts his leg up, the one he has left, takes off his shoe & gives it to me... Just the one...

wtf? Seriously, am I one shoe short of a pair or what??

gah! reminds me, I've never had these on while meditating, but I used to listen to them when I had trouble sleeping & they are really beautiful pieces of music.

I've been finding myself having some really intense dreams lately, they have all the dream logic nonsense going on in them, but at their core they explicitly revolve around things that are going on in my life, or rather have gone on, & are still going on for me, emotionally. I mean I had a pretty confusing one a couple nights ago involving some people I hardly know but I'm not exactly on friendly terms with, & the whole way through the dream I was oscillating between aggression towards them & then wanting to know them, actually be friends with them, even help them, while there stance towards me was a steady passively aggressive one. I've never really had dreams like this before, with constant conflict between feelings, but I've had about 4 now in the last couple of weeks, highlighting conflicted feelings about people who have been in my life, as far back as a permanent falling out between my best friends at age 16. Things I haven't even really thought about for a long time! Felt like sharing something that seemed, new.

No, I have not had any help with other APers.  In my circle, they would not believe that the possibility exists.  I have tried to speak to two very close people to me about my experiences with astral travel.  I received silence and disbelief.  The only one I can think of who would have had the intelligence or open mind of this possibility would have been my father.

Exactly the same for me, chellebelle. I know one person who got it, other than that I've only ever got negative responses from people, I'd love to have someone to share stuff with but meh. Though I can't say I've ever been as tacful about it as Bedeekin describes. I don't tell people any more though, and on the occasions I do talk about it, I just don't bring up anything to do with first hand experiences.
