It is a proven fact that music effects your body. It is also a bit of a studied fact that music effects water. Since we are mostly water, one way or another you're probably effected on a physical level.

Considering your goal is to forget the outside world, you'll want to make your body peaceful. 9 out of 10 yoga instructors prefer quiet, relaxing music. Follow suit to what your goal is.

Oh, and the tenth yoga instructor fell asleep before we could poll her.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Vibrations
December 25, 2005, 22:27:15
You know what it is? You believe that's the only way you can project. You are convinced that the vibrations are your gateway. Even if you find this to be more true than belief, it started when you started.

Obviously you are a method kind of person. One step before the other. The case is that you believe in a transition period. Vibrations are one of the most popular transition feelings. When you experience it, you know you are making the transition. If you don't, you feel there is something missing, and you wait for something. That is your error.

The transition can happen in a moment, literally. One moment you're sitting in your room eating a sandwich and the next you're floating in a darkness. Simple as that.

What I suggest for you is throw methods out the window for a while. In your walking life imagine all the time that you're slipping in to it suddenly, blacking out in to nothingness. Pretend you walk through a door in to a black abyss, or when you turn off the lights you dissapear. Use the same idea when you go to meditate. As your body falls to the couch or the bed pretend you're falling in to the darkness.

I wouldn't be surprised if you find yourself being able to instantly change after enough practice. Of course you have to believe me, otherwise you might as well give up completely.

Hah, the irony kills me.

Look at it this way. Get in to your OOB position, and make everything go black. Be so sure everything goes black. Imagine it, and watch it. Expect it. Whatever you do, just convince yourself everything is going black.

Which means don't say to yourself, "I want everything to go black" and be pretty sure it won't but it might but you don't know. Just like a dream, MAKE it all black.

If you decide you cannot do this, you obviously aren't ready for it. Although the difference between being ready or not is simply accepting that any little thing isn't what it seems. Even astral projecting. Simple enough? Not really.

You know, Stookie, it took me 7 years to come to the same conclusion. You wanna know what I think it is?

For so long people see that something so rare in our society needs rules. It needs boundaries, right and wrong, left and right, up and down. If you don't follow the steps things won't work.

For a lot of people this is true. Many need steps, they need a path or a map; Just something that will tell them how to do it. It's reassuring to know that there's someone out there who did all the thinking for you so all you have to do is push piece A in to slot B.

A lot of time I spent laying in bed, dozing to the thoughts that I have, led me to realise just that. For years I thought I hadn't grasped concepts here and there, that I was yet to really understand the full picture. Then it dawned that the very things I'm reaching out for I used to experience as a small child. Heck, I experience it every time I sleep. The tricky part is being able to just be fully concentrated on it.

When I phase, I don't see places or people or hear things. It dawned on me that I rather don't like that form. I don't want to go somewhere and live in a fantasy land of my dreams. I'd rather just... be. So I sit in the unconcentrated darkness, and let the brain impulses jump back and forth until a train of thought pops in my head, and I daydream facts. Technically I'm still phasing because I'm completely tuned inward. I forget where I am and what I'm doing, I even forget I have a body.

So Stookie, do it your way. Have it your way. All you really need to do is forget about the outside world and look inside.

As I am not one to deny Frank, I'm about to give you MY view of it:

Nine inner senses? Sure. Do you want nine? Do you want fifteen? Have twenty, they're small. Make up a few senses for the hell of it. The sense of knowing if something's metallic or rubber, or the sense of knowing where the planets are aligned.

You say that you want information, and you sound a lot like what I used to be. What I learned is that really, it's anything you want. No boundaries, no stopping, no yes or no. It's simply, "Ok".

Steve, you know everything you need to know. There's a world out there called you and you can explore it in a different way than what the average person does. Inside your head is a blank canvas only shaped by the person you are. Whatever you want to do with it, go ahead. If it's senses, use them. If it's ability, use them. If it's beauty, see it. If it's music, hear it.

It's as simple as that. You are the only guru of yourself. Don't listen to anyone who says you can or cannot do something, because with enough effort you can do it. The hardest part is tuning in to yourself. Once you can reach inside and see that the possibilities literally are endless, the questions fall away.

People have chakra's because they like them. People can cast spells because they believe in them. There is even the possibility of running in to something impossible because you believe it when someone says you can't. It's all lies.

So what do you want your nine senses to be?

Hey, I'll not be annoying and actually answer your question.

This is where things get sketchy. I hate to break it to ya, but there's no formula. There's no direction, no 'technique' that can be described at this moment. What needs to happen is you need to open your mind. As vauge as that is, that's as specific as I can get.

I'll describe my experiences to you. At the very moment of seeing blobs, orbs, lights, whatever, this is what I do. I forget everything. I concentrate on a scene, a place, an idea, whatever I'm trying to achieve. Then my mind will move in that direction.

In a way, think of it more scientifically, and your questions will be answered. There's reasons behind all techniques that all basically trick you in to forgetting where you are, and making your mind think you're somewhere else. That's all this really is, tricking yourself in to believing something so much that you can see, touch, create, whatever.

So in our scientific minds we're seeing the lights, a reaction of the brain recieving random stimulus from the otherwise lacking from the eyes. Since our goal is to replace all stimulus from the body, how do we start to replace those of touch and smell and hearing?

The brain doesn't know the difference between a memory, and if we're actually experiencing something. It's been scientifically tested. If you recall a memory, your brain doesn't know the difference. It's something else entirely that can sort out a memory to an immediate experience. Since you're not gaining any immediate experiences, just remember. Delve yourself in to a memory, or a piece of imagination.

Don't think of it as a technique, either. In fact, don't really think much at all. Pretend to yourself it is real. After practice, and a lot of time, you can re-train your mind to start accepting this constant made-up reality as something it should focus on. Things become more real, vivid, even to a point where it's hard to tell the difference between reality and imagination.

Spend a good hour or so just pretending every day. You'll be suprised at the results.

And that's just about that. Afterwards, it's simply whatever you want.

Welcome to Astral Pulse Island! / would this work?

The most difficult part of changing locations is simply imagining where you're going. If anything, that is helpful. Give it a try.
#33
The only difference is what you make it. There simply a name given to a generic and unrestricted point of conciousness. You should have no concern over them.

Tayesin,

Unlike the Easter Bunny, time is 'real'. Although it's more limited than we were to think. Time is directly related to space. It's the way matter keeps from being everywhere at the same time. Because if something is everywhere, how can it have depth, distance, or boundaries? Space wouldn't exist then.

The mind doesn't need space, so it doesn't need time. It is our bodies and our brains that percieve time. Otherwise a memory is no different than what we're currently experiencing to us.

So as it is real, it just doesn't effect very much.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Hey all!

I have the problem where I can realise I'm dreaming, but I can't do anything not-real. When I'm dreaming and I realise it, I say, "Well if it's a dream I SHOULD be able to do anything." Well, everything fails and it turns in to a frustrating dream.

It's not that you slow down time, it's that you speed up your awareness.

In my oppinion, of course.

Gimble:

Guess what! You can't take my word either. I did actually have your concept in mind. I find myself quite the teacher-type, and one time when I did mention that, I had a little thought if someone asked if they should trust my word. The reality is, no.  Not me, not anyone can you take the word of until you find out for yourself.

Mainly because something that could be right for me and a half million other people might not be right for another half million. In the world of the mind, there is no right or wrong. Just preference.

You wanna know a big secret? There's no proper or improper "technique" It's not like you're trying to find the right key for the door. Techniques are more of a way of getting you in to a certain mindset. That's why some work for certain people while others don't. Your problem is you're working to hard on the technique while you should be focusing on what it's supposed to do.

Well, what is it supposed to do? Distract you, basically. Techniques are set up so that you get your attention focused in one direction, and you're not thinking about what's happening. Your problem is you're asking, "Is it working yet" when you shouldn't be asking any questions at all.

A person could lay down and focus his concentration completely away from his physical body and still achieve his goal. They wouldn't need to focus on a certain technique or anything. This is because this person is special. Not everyone can focus away from their body without having something to focus ON.

So basically, make up your own technique. Just think of something you can do which will keep your mind active, while keeping your concentration away from where you are and what you're doing. Stop asking, "Am I there yet?"

What usually helps is to picture a place. Make it up in your head, and build it as you go along. Hear the ambience, see the things around you, feel them, smell them. It's similar to falling asleep, but instead of completely blanking out, you move right in to your dream.

Hello, and welcome. As you are new, I will give you what I consider the best advice for those not yet accustomed to this kind of thing.

QUESTION EVERYTHING. Never accept what anyone says until you question it for yourself. Literally nothing.

On to your question! Yes. You can do literally whatever you want. You cannot get hurt, you cannot die, you can see anyone, anywhere, any way. Heck, you don't even have to see them. Sight is a habbit. You could feel them, sense them, be them. Just depends what you want to do.

A big note. Projection does not equal sleepy. Projection equals alert. Just a different kind of alert.

When you try meditative stuff, the idea isn't to fall asleep, or to do some amasing wicca ritual. The idea is to concentrate away from here. Your body, where you are, what you're doing, should all be the last thing on your mind. The key for any deep progress is to concentrate so deeply on something else, that you don't think about being in bed, or on the couch, or even really trying. That's why it's so tricky.

So remember, getting sleepy isn't going to help. In fact, it's better to be completely awake. You're more likely to achieve anything in the middle of the day than when you go to bed. If you are going to listen to anything, listen to anything without repitition, and with no beat. That'd be the safest thing.

Nick,

Although I do agree with you on thinking it may be just an F2oC experience, we must be our own Devil's Advocate. When she stated distance, she said, " ..how far away from the Earth we were." As in, how far the ship was from Earth. So it could have been stationed there, or on course.

Although before I could fully believe such an encounter, one would have to return with a basic knowledge that would otherwise be unknown.
#42
Haha, that sounds awesome. I can tell you why you didn't make the building though.

When people learn the concept through OBE, the idea of not actually existing isn't commonly taught. You are told "You move with your soul" which is all fine and dandy, but how limited are you? In order to find the answer to that, it's probably a footnote in a big book of everything Astral.

When I was little, I would have lucid dreams where I challanged everything. If I ever had a doubt, or couldn't envision what I was about to do, it wouldn't happen. Same thing with the building. As you said, you were going to go "through" the wall. What does going through a wall look like?

It's easy to fly, since we can envision that with birds and whatnot. As for penetrating a wall, that's a larger leap of faith. One which I would not consider easy. It's a freaking wall, solid from end to end for God's sake! What would it take to move through it, spirit or not?

Look at it this way: Don't fly through the wall, go beyond it. Don't even think about the wall, think about what's inside. Go to whatever is on the other side of the wall. As you approach it, the wall will dissapear to show what is inside. You simply move through the area that the wall was.

A good practice is to slowly approach a wall while standing. Put your hand through, and follow. As you stick your limbs through, you might find it difficult to put your face through. Mainly through a sense of disbelief in what's on the other side. You can get over that by closing your 'eyes' and picturing what is on the other side. When you concentrate back  on your new surroundings, you shall be on the other side.

Nick,

Isn't science fun? Of course, you're right. We as humans in our physical knowledge cannot exist in two places.

Right?

Let's look at it this way. Your body is made up of cells. Those cells are continuously regenerating, splitting, and dying. Cells fall off the body, cells grow with material we consume, and this whole process goes on a lot. It is in fact more or less safe to say that a large majority of cells that makes up your body now are not the exact same as what you were born with. This brings up the question, what are we physically? What concerns the start and stop of us? Is a hair that falls from your head no longer you, or was it part of you to begin with?

Spiritually, we do not take up space. So in order to be in two places at once is applying rules where there are none. So by theory one can be aware of multiple places in space the same way we can hear, taste, smell, see, and feel all at once.

Nonetheless, what I bound this down to is that the physical is a sketchy thing. As for the existance of a point of matter in two places at once, even now scientists question if this actually might be possible.  I don't have any sources to share with you, but you can go ahead and ask a Quantum Physicist.

The black colourless darkness...
Darkness is a black hole
That blackens out
The dark darkness of my heart.
Darkness makes a colourless nest
In my darkened mind
And all I see is darkness...

Ok, the one big thing I want you to know is DON'T find out what's happening. Don't ask questions, don't go looking for answers. Not yet.

Right now you are on the verge of making a personal descovery that will stick with you a lot stronger than anything people can tell you. If you go and taint the purity of the situation, then things come in the way which will make things harder.

Expectancies. For everyone they create their own boundaries and rules. When you adopt someone elses' rules, it's like playing chess by basketball rules. "How can I win if there is no hoop to score with?" Between two people, it can be just as different. You make expectancies, and when they don't appear, you doubt. Doubt is the dampener of intention, and intention is your fuel.

So for right now, just work on getting over the fear. It'll be for the best in the end. Over and over and over and over, just keep going through the feelings, let things happen by themselves. Do not expect or try to make anything happen. After that you will have something many other people don't.

Personally this looks like a poem about the conditions in Africa. Sorry to say but, what do you reply to a post of such nature? I don't know any good poetry on the matter.

If anything I'd rather not directly reply because it also seems a bit overly self-boasting. I'm not one to get mixed up in ego.

"My Love, where did it disappear to after the countless rapes of my Soul. "

"I am Glen, the last understanding of the Universe, you are with all I am. "

"My Soul, my loneliness, Heaven will not stop me."

"MY LOVE GOD GOD I AM GOD I AM "

"I am witness to god "

Those people who forget the 'spirit' and the body are two seperate things are idiots. The body is an object in the physical world which excretes and sheds, so it must gain in order to balance the excreting. I'm not talking about just number ones and two's. I'm talking sweat, hair, nails, skin. Our cells continuously split, and when that happens they both are half of the whole. In order for the new cell to regain full composure, it must eat.

Just because someone's all, "Look at me, I'm spiritual" doesn't mean they can bend the rules of nature. They can do whatever they want with the spirit, but there are rules of the physical that are solid because our world is filled with boundaries. Makes life more interesting that way.

If you stop eating, I guess you can stop breathing too. That's taking particles out of the air and ingesting those through a different form. Let's see those kinds of people stop breathing.

The Myans ended their calander 2012 because they got bored after a while and figured that the world wouldn't last that long.

You can be in as many places as you want now, you just have to wrap your mind around the concept. People have done it in the past, so it isn't impossible.
#49
Popular belief says if you travel far enough you get back where you started.

As for traveling out for the great yonder, it's not a very popular thing, but nonetheless completely inside the realm of possibility. Knock yourself out, give it a try. See how far you get. There's got to be some beautiful sights.

You wouldn't have happened to take copious ammounts of an illegal substance, would you? Sometimes it can feel like worms are under your skin. Most people who feel that start tearing the flesh away to get at them. Of course, it's all in their mind.

If you ask me, you made the worms. Maybe feeling a tingling, like something's moving, and then your vivid imagination took it from there. It could have gotten very real, but no worries. You're not going to be eaten away.
