I am a bit confused by the hypnotism thingy.. are you comparing projecting to hypnotism?

In a reply to Phong I said:

Before people had much understanding of hypnotism it was viewed the same way, full of vague mystery and handwaving. When people started to drop the BS factor and study it seriously it became a learnable skill that anyone could do.

quote:

It is only as hard as you think it will be..why is that such a bad thing to say? Keep thinking that you can't do it because it is hard and guess what..IT WILL BE..

But the inverse is definitely false, thinking it's easy does not automatically make it easy.

quote:

Are we quite done with this lovely little dance tonight Cube?..

It was fun, this discussion made me think through my view point in a lot of detail and I'm glad the topic was brought up.

I'm hoping that my hypnotism analogy is correct and that we'll eventually find a system that works for everyone with a reasonable amount of intelligence. It might me a complex system, and have to be tailored to different personality types or something, but it would still be a system.

Why shouldn't there be such a system?

quote:

There is no big secret to projection that is being held back, but dang...fly from the nest, you've been given enough information to find out and explore for yourself.

To me that's an odd way of looking at it. It seems like you're glorifying on the wrong thing. The growth come *after* you project and you go out exploring. The act of projection is just a technicality, like opening a door or knowing how to drive a car.

I guess the difference is I don't start a thread souly for me to boast about my abilities.

That's right. Until you have a system that you know will work for someone else, you don't have any right to tell that person "it's only as hard as you think it is".

The forums have many, many, many..and oh..did I say MANY techniques! Read those, you might even come across Manuel explaining his tech or me as well. No sense in explaining it over, and over..lol

I didn't ask for a technique, I asked for the list of techniques that will always lead to a projection. Everyone has their tricks, but not one person has ever come up with a reliable *system* that puts it all together.

Instead people try things until they find something that works well enough for them personally, then they stop and sometimes assume that what they do works for everyone else.

No one has ever put together a big picture system that takes into account various people's quirks and weaknesses.

I'm sure you and others will think this is a attack towards Spectral Dragon, but seeings how he claims to project on a dime, well...he should expect people to say..hmmmmm..ok then. It just seems to me that when someone brags, it is not because they are good at something, but more rather they WANT to be good at something.

There isn't anything I read that doesn't make me go hmmmm, especially on this site!!

My yardstick is experience, I try tricks people suggest and if they work then I consider those people to be credible. SD's tricks have shown to be very useful, so have Mustardseed's.

By that measure, I consider SD to be credible enough that I think he probably can project at will.

But SD is not the issue, the issue is that if you have the skills then you are wasting them if you don't use them to help other people to develop the skills.

If you can project and don't bother to figure out how you do it then you may as will not have them in the first place, it degenerates into mental masturbation.

Hi Phong,

quote:

Astral Projection is not a step-by-step process, it's a creative process of intuition and whimsy. No wonder you're so bad at it, Cube :P Ahh.. pie in the sky tastes so good.

Before people had much understanding of hypnotism it was viewed the same way, full of vague mystery and handwaving. When people started to drop the BS factor and study it seriously it became a learnable skill that anyone could do.

The act of projecting *is* something that can be learned and formalized. It sounds to me like Spectral Dragon is one of the most skilled projectors on this site and he can project consciously whenever he wants to, and he's writing instructions on how to do it.

I have to admit I have a lot more respect for a natural projector who studies things in detail so s/he can help those who stuggle with it than a natural projector such as yourself who leaves it all in la-la land and arrogantly assumes that everyone else has the same intrinsic ability.
#258
upstream this trick you have sounds a lot like some of Stuart Wilde's "etheric manuvers" where he imagines stretching his etheric body all over the place. Recently in meditation I've become aware of a cloud of awareness that forms over me and I'm going to try your spinning idea and spin the cloud around to see what happens.
#259
I asked about the reversed body doulbe effect in the Mediating an Archangel thread. The reply was that we're seeing the effects of a mirror and it's similar to how in dreams it's easy to get numbers out of order.

Here's a question I'm going to ask Micheal about this, maybe thinking about the question will make things less complicated:

On the topic of the divine, is it accurate to interpret the word 'perfect' to mean 'in complete balance' as opposed to 'cannot be improved upon'? It seems to me that if the Creator desired to experience everything, then that is a desired improvement. I would also think that the Creator would not desire to not be able to improve because that would result in eternal boredom.
#261
Wow, I didn't expect this to turn into such a pompous pie in the sky kind of thread.

All you folks saying it's so simple (manuel in particular), if you understand it so well then it should be easy for you to write down the steps you use to have a conscious projection whenever you want.

So let's have those lists! [8D]
#262
Which book are you reading where he says that? I've only read one of them and am not sure which to read next.

I'm speculating but it could be the case the we several bodies all layered like an onion. There's the physical, the etheric, the emotional, the mental, on and on with each one operating at a higher frequency than the last.

If our physical body is too dense and low frequency to go to the astral, perhaps the astral is too dense to go to the emotional plane. We have to direct our consciousness to raise to the next higher frequency and then we need the high frequency body to move around and drop off all the low frequency stuff.

So maybe he's just doing recursive OBEs to climb up the ladder.

quote:

For each location it's neither on the surface or beneath. It's a sensation I am at that location. Does that make sense? It's a sensation that is 'there' and 'there' is me.

I'm not sure I understand but it sound like one of those things that have to be experienced? For me the sensations are definitely at some specific area, for the sacral is originates behind my bellybutton and halfway to my spine.
#264
My LDs are never realtime but my OBEs always start out with me leaving my body so I start out in the RTZ.
#265
I also find it interesting that you feel your sacral/solar plexus chakra as a nailpoint as opposed to more like a fuzzy volume. Do you feel any sensations other than the nailpoint? For you sacral is the nailpoint inside you or more near the surface of the skin?
#266
Where in your body do you feel the base chakra? I've always pcitured it as like a field-volume effect in the shape of a cone aroud the base of your body and not really associated with a specific physical part.
When I get vibes the soles of my feel vibrate especially strong and I was thinking that's becaues they're at the edge of the bottom of the base chakra.

Where do you feel the nailpoint in your thorat chakra? On the adam's apple or maybe inside your neck?
#267
I've read through the thread several times, I try hard not to repeat questions but I think sometimes the answers are so cryptic that it's easy to misunderstand that something has actually been covered.

Anyway I will try to ask about a wider range of stuff in the hopes of avoiding overlap because I didn't understand one of the answers already given.

Thanks a lot to SD and Micheal again.
#268
I'm downloading AIM if you wanna chat.
#269
Oh, no no no... I'm not man enough to actually do PHYSICAL work. Nope, my job consists of typing things on a keyboard and then hoping that people send me money. Sometimes they do.

But it's still activity here in the 3d dimension, filled with 3rd dimensional people doing their 3rd dimensional things. I'm ready for something NEW!!
#270
I dunno, I'm kind of procrastinating. It's so hard to get motivated to do physical-world work when in the back of you mind you're thinking about creating universes from thoughts.
#271
lol, that's an interesting point. If you start to understand magic, it's no longer magic, it's technology.
#272
That's very perceptive but I'm not sure it applies since I doubt Thoth spoke English. Maybe there was some creative translation involved so that whatever Egyptian language was used somehow mapped into English in a very unique way?
#273
There's info on magic throughout the tablets, for instance on

http://www.crystalinks.com/emerald10.html
quote:

Knew I then that in Words are power
to open the planes that are hidden from man.
Aye, that even in Words lies hidden the key
that will open above and below.

Hark ye, now man, this word I leave with thee.
Use it and ye shall find power in its sound.
Say ye the word:
"ZIN-URU"
and power ye shall find.
Yet must ye understand that man is of Light
and Light is of man.

I asked Micheal about that and he said that the real power of magic words are the intent behind them although the words do have an effect since they are associated with various concepts and an strengthen or weaken the intent.

What do you think about the ZIN-URU powerphrase?
#274
Good or bad, this is why we incarnated here so whatever happens it will probably be an interesting experience. As long as it's not boring I'm up for it.
#275
Yes you should definitely read the Emerald Tablets, Thoth was an Atlantean priest who progressed from being a human to being a minor God. The tablets talk about his progression and what he learned along the way.

I will be interested in your thoughts on them. Specifically there are references to magic work in them that I don't understand, I don't have an intuitive ability when it comes to magic so I'd like to hear what you make of them.
