Welcome to Astral Chat! / New Features and Layout

Hi.  All I can say is ME TOO!.  Same problem as Jacara.  It just says no active topics, and one must keep clicking.  I am confused.  The old format may have been slower, but it was easier to use and I could see all the recent post dates at once.  I will keep trying as I enjoy reading many of the posts.

Interesting responses to so many questions about Jesus.  We know that the Bible as we have  it has gone through many translations and translators, some of whom had issues with what he might have actually taught.  Also, many items were left out and exist somewhere in the Vatican libraries and monastary archives.  Few people, if any, outside the Church is allowed to see or review them.  So who knows what he actually said and did.  I have always believed he had a lot more to say than just the few items that have come down to us over the past 2000 years.   Medieval Europeans would not have taken well to the idea that women were equal to men or that God has a feminine side.  Nor would they have accepted the idea that one can be a holy and good person without being a Christian.

Was Jesus a vegetarian?  Not likely given the times and the culture he grew up in.  As a Jewish child, he would have eaten lamb, fish, goat, fowl, as well as foods that could be grown.  As a man of the people, he would have joined in their meals.

Also, as a Rabbi, he certainly could read and write.  Perhaps not in Latin or Greek, but in ancient Hebrew/Aramaic.  However, if he wrote anything at all, it too has disappeared or is kept hidden.   My impression has always been that he wanted to reform the Jewish religion rather than start a new one.  He probably did have the highest consciousness of anyone that has ever lived, perhaps to give us a hint of what the ultimate human destiny might be.  I try to read the Bible with an attitude of "what rings true here."  I do believe he said "Love thy neighbor as thyself."  Considering some of the people we encounter every day and others in the world today, that is a mighty hard thing to do.  Even if that is the only thing that is true, it is a very important lesson.

Unfortunately, what too many religions have made of it translates to include only those who think and believe as you do.  And too many people believe they have the only truth about God that exists.  The Christ legends, stories, and New Testaments have been altered and we may never know for certain what he said or meant us to believe.  But the Christ spirit - that is something else again and I think it exists in all living things.  Hopefully, he thought so too, but that teaching has not come down to us.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Starseed Quiz
December 25, 2002, 14:46:10
Hi, everyone.  I scored in the high 80's.  I suspect by the nature of this site that most members would score high.  I too have eyes that change color from brown to hazel and was once nicknamed Bright Eyes.  Don't have a clue what all that means, if anything.  I also tend to be skeptical of little grey men visits.  From what I have read and heard of them, why don't they just come out in the open or just leave us alone as some of the experiments seem horrifying to me.  They would only get me kicking and screaming.  If they are not here to help, then just what are they here for and why don't they just ask for whatever it is they want?  We would likely give it to them, if it is ours to give.

Anyway, it is an interesting quiz and I do love archeological digs.  I am just not much of a joiner.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / End Times?....
December 21, 2002, 20:36:47
Hi,  I am finding it a very disturbing and confusing time and am also wondering about our tendency to believe "The end is near"  every new year.  Maybe it is just some desire for punishment that has been taught to us.  The idea that we are born evil is certainly a part of so many religions.  I am also finding it a time of feeling "lost" here, as if everything is too strange and different.  Something has shifted, and where it will lead us is anyone's guess.

Of course, it looks like a period of wars with Iraq and possibly Korea and others.  But I don't see wars as the end.  There have always been "wars and rumors of wars" .  I read recently that in the past 3500 years, there has only been approximately 250 years of peace in the pasts of the world we have histories for.   Any wars in 2003 will hardly be the last, or final war before a thousand years of peace.  Would we even know what to do with a thousand years of peace?

I like to think that what is truly shifting is something inside of us, in our collective consciousness.  Anyone else have any ideas or info on such a change?

Welcome to Metaphysics! / The validity of Zetatalk
November 29, 2002, 12:27:22
I also listened to part of the Coast to Coast interview and then read through parts of the site.   My overall impression is that if she is right, surviving it might be worse than dying in her May 15th disaster.  Nor do I like the idea that humans will be in-bred with her aliens and become a new species.  She claims some of them are here to help us with service to others, yet 90% of us will be destroyed along with most other life on the planet.  What doesn't die off immediately, will not last long given her prediction of 20 years of ash clouds and no sunlight.

Most disturbing, besides all the conspiracy theories and Hitler, the good guy, is that there is so little hope in her site and predictions.   Also, she claims that the people of Planet X are so much more advanced than we are, so why don't they just steer their planet on a slightly different course?  That is, if they exist at all.   The question for me is not do her assorted aliens exist, but rather, if they do exist, why don't they just leave us alone as, if she is to be believed, they do not intend us well.

I certainly hope she is wrong in her predictions of almost total annihilation on our beautiful planet.   Not that I don't think we need evolution or some culling of the herd of man in some places, but the kind of destruction she is talking about puts us back in the stone age and total savagery.

She sounds so sincere, and she probably does believe every word she is saying.  I just wonder if she is delusional or just being manipulated.  I really don't know what to make of it as the Zetatalk site has just enough content to be plausible.  I do think, tho, that if Planet X were only 6 months away, we would know it now.   There are too many amateur astromers out there for it to be missed if such a thing were heading our way.   Of course, her web site claims we can't see it now because it is still in another dimension.

So May 15th, I guess we will all know.  On the bright side, if she is right, it will be our chance, at last, to get away from it all.
