Well I could say that if you truely beleaved in your argument that wealth is more important than a spirtual life you would not be on this forum, but that would be rational and as such unfair.

However I am sticking to my guns (ok fine! Im making my argument up as I go, do you have to beat it out of me!) and arguing, debating if you will http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0> ,  that the recognition and pursuit of a spirtual and 'meaningful' life leads to a greater level of self understanding and  acceptance of the personal identity (as opposed to the materialistic pursuit of a socual ideal). The pursuit of a spirtual life path leads to a level of universal  awarness and personal peace that can not logically even be compared in terms of a virtue or 'value'  to wealth and material goods.

The pursuit of nivana or spirtual self beterment is to be apart of the evolution of mankind. Thoses who embrace greed and wealth blindly follow the failures of the past and only leave mankind wallowing in a stagnant  pool of pettyness, hate and fear. They are the only 'weak' ones.

By all means make money to survive and raise a happy healthy faimily, but do not pursue wealth for the sake of an identity or status. Not in a world where there are others who DIE because they are BORN poor.  "You want money - get a job!" Well people in some places dont have the opportunity to "get a job" because capitalism and greed have concentrated the worlds wealth amongst  the advantaged few. Our advantaged nations may preach personal freedom, capitalism and democrocy, but they take the wealth that in a world of equity would be being used to feed dying infants and produce vacinations.

Being a paramedic just makes sence, my calling I guess. I was hoping to try and get into the Queensland Ambulance next year and drop my uni course but apparently it is damm near imposible for a under 21 year old to get in. I guess that is a pretty logical safety net however...

If you wanted a more deep routed psychological answer it is probalby because I justify my own worth by being needed and helpfull. I am not really  botherd by gore and I thrive under preasure. So I guess it all fits nicely.

Im a casual worker for Woolworths, which does not go down to well because I can get fairly compasionate about the explotation of workers. I often deface profit posters in the staff room with comments like "if we have this increased profit why are our hours always being decreased". They incite  the angry  masses for a short period and then disapear.

Of course none of the important people  know that it is me and I have heaps of responsibility put on me like management, stock ordering and various important computer things. Maybe not for to much longer though because yesturday I had to do something called the download. I dont know what it is but it has to do with the fresh food departments (bakery, deli, meat). Anyway you have to ask the department managers if they are ready to have theirs done, and the deli manager didn't give a yes or no answer, and well I interpreted her answer incorrectly. Apparently by starting it early I could have lost a few grand of afternoon trading!!!! I dont find out until later this week. I dont care to much though I mean they can yell a lot but they cant legally fire me, and I dont really care about their profit (apparently my and other workers contribution to making profit does not benefit us anyway).

Appart from that Im full time uni and I just cant wait to become a Paramedic!!! Now there is a job you can be proud of. Helping others in need and not being a part of some blood/soulless multinational. To me being a Paramedic is a spiritual carer, but that is because of my beliefs and viewpoint.

A close friend of mine is highly graded in the martial art of Bujinkan Kobudo, if you have not heard of it, it is a very old combat art originating in feudal Japan. The basic concept being using natural movement and distance to overcome speed and power. Anyways...

My friend talks a lot about intent. He and others he has trained with in Japan (at head dojo) seem to have really developed the ability to both sence and project intent very strongly. Basically he can really change the atmosphere to an environment. When training with the more skilled students in his school he occasionally will focus his intent of destroying them, (as one would in battle, keeping in mind that it is not so much a martial art but a war art) you can actually feel the room change.

People who have trained with Masaaki Hatsumi Soke (the grandmaster of the school, located in Japan) have discribed not only the shift in atmosphere he seems to create but bizarre things like being stabed by objects that arnt there, it seems that he can focus his intent/energy into something seperate from his body and actually make people feel it. Its like what cainam nazier expained about extending your energy body to be ahead of the blow being delivered by the physical body, but much more focused.

Firstly may I express my sympathies for your loss. You should not feel silly because your 24 and are sad about the loss of your cat. The idea that people should become less emotional with age is a social construct, and does not have to applie to everyone. Some people say that the dead will stay in the astral until the next moon cycle comes around, if this is true then I see no reason why it would not be the same for an animal. But I personily have no well built opinion of what happens on the astral when somthing dies, or how long it stays there (lack of experience). I do know however that sometimes animals seem to stay around for a while just as people can. I have a beautiful memory of seeing my old dog for one last time about a month after his death. A witches familure may remain attached to the individual in death and remain as a guide of sorts.

Ideas of what happens to aninmals when they die will be as varied as to what happens when people die. Personily I have not yet decided how souls progress, or at what point, if any, a soul becomes the embodyment of a more advanced organism, like a human. But I certainly do believe that an animal soul would reincarnate in some form. But since your question was relating to pets in particular then what I mentioned above about pets hanging around as ghosts must also be bought into it. But when the cows come home it is still only your belief structure which will determine your opinion of animal afterlife. For example if you are a christian the idea of a cat becoming a person is not going to seem plausable.

Perhaps you could email Robert with your question about projecting to see your cat again, or better yet post your question again on a more active area of the forum.

On the topic of responsibility.

Perhaps the level of responsibility that an individual uses when they have power is a function of their beliefs as to where they fit in with the rest of mankind. Some people may consider themselves to indeed be powerful, and either their ego or ethics will position them to use control and show responsibility.

However in contrast, I'm sure that some of you will have heard the term 'Cowan' used to describe individuals who do not have power, or of not trying to develop it (Basically non-spiritual people). There are people who believe that the subculture of spiritual, or 'developed' individuals are separate from the rest of mankind, almost to the extent of being a different species. I believe this ideology arises because of beliefs in reincarnation and the importance of self evolution, and also because of psychological fulfilment. Although not necessarily negative, people with these beliefs may be more inclined to see themselves to be 'normal' and ordinary people to not even considered in the perceived scale of personal power. This detachment from society is what could lead to the abuse of personal power and the violation of peoples personal boundaries, sometimes just to prove to themselves their own ability. Is this what it means to have a god complex?

Or in other words it comes down to weather or not you think you are a more advanced person, or something special incomparable to normal people.

Nita, yes I think that above all else we should always be true to ourselves.

Vallk, If you mean the power to make things happen by thinking about them (perhaps one of cainam_nazier's 'and so on's') then yes meditaion will help in the increasing this ability (and many others). Meditation will not only improve your energy levels and the mental clarity needed to preform this, but increase your ability to remain focused on the task at hand.

Also, assuming Im on the right track,  deep self analysis and self understanding are very important. Start visualisation exercises, energy work and READ!  READ!  READ!  

Im in a hurry so I can elaborate later if you have questions or am not sure of somwthing Ive written.

Qui-Gon Jinn mentioned the effects of vibrations on awareness. Would you resonate the mantra in the same way words of power are vibrated in magick ritual? (sorry it's just my familiar ground). If someone is not familiar with what I mean it is vibrating your words in a way that makes your whole body vibrate. This is done by experimenting with different vocal ranges and the angle of your head/neck. I imagine singers could do this more easily.

Neurolinguistic programing (NLP) sure does sound fancy, but in reality it is just a tool commonly tought to sales persons. The idea being that if you can identify how someone thinks by their eyes and word choices you can then communicate back to them in an identical style. As a result a raport is gained VERY quickly and the person will really feel  that the NLP user is on their level. Now you have this little bit of knowledge you can use it against NLP users for fun. Just be aware of your eyes and vocab, let them think they have pined down your thinking style and then change patterns.

But remember that car salesmen are not the only people using NLP. And infact being aware of this practice could potentialy serve as a defence against all sorts of inteligent ill minded individuals. This is not a defence against negative entities, but it is against people who should which to manipulate you  for their own needs in all walks of life.

Or of course you could join the darkside, and use NLP to win poker games against your mates!

Hello all

Im not sure  that it would be related to seeing spirits, but it is another stange eye related thing.

I sometimes find (say twice a week or so) that as Im drifting off to sleep my vision (although my eyelids are closed) will flash very brightly for all of half a second. This is always shocking because it occurs at a point when Im neither asleep or awake, some point in between. Its a very disorintating experience and last night (hence my inspiration to post) I noticed it was accompanied by a cracking noise which seems not to be 'in my head' but a few meters from my bead, well thats how it felt anyway.

Cainam nazier's idea about the arivial of entities being accompanied by a sound to distract you got me thinking, but maybe its not related.

Has anybody ever experienced anything like this or have any ideas?

Just as a topic of interest if anyone is aware of neurolinguistic programing different people will tend to communicate with a fixation on a particular sence. For example the visual people will use phrases like 'I see your point', hearing people might say  'i hear your point' and finially feeling poeple might say 'i can fell where you are on that'. This is taken further, peoples eyes will actually move either up, to the side or down when they engage in thought depending on their sence fixation.

I believe that this all gets interesting when you consider the effects of energy working. I am a visulally fixated person and I have begun to develpoe auric sight and am experiencing strange types of visual ccurrences . The majority of people are visually fixated (about 75%) but it would be interesting to see if people with other sence fixations developed 'new abitities'in other ways. For example I have a friend who can 'feel' the aura and sence peoples intent but he can not see the aura.

Thank you for the effort and thought you have put into your post. I found it educational, insightful and an inspiration to keep reading and learning.

My personal experience has been that walking the middle pillar is not easy. Being that my grounding was generic fuzzy wiccan magick I found that acknowledging the existance of my darker self difficult. So I seemingly attempted to embrace it in an attempt to learn and find balance. I have never practiced 'negative' magic, but have found it can be easy to become infactuated with my 'dark' self. Being a nice shade of grey is logical to me, and I will learn as I grow.

Your reference to the GD and ego greatly interests me. I have been reading and begining to practice GD rituals and the idea of developing a god complex concerns me somewhat.

When someone is below a tree for a while sometimes 'perl like strings' decend from the tree into ones aura apparently calming it. The more open you are the more profound the effect. I fing meditation under large gum trees very refressing. Experiment with  types of trees, you may find that differnt species will make you feel different ways.

An interesting point to add is that I have read that old tress seem to 'record' the emotion of there environment. A person who is very sensitive wrote that when she sat below a tree in an old prison camp (now a tourist site) she became overwealmed with the most horrible and despirate feelings.

Wow! your opinion might be a little different but I would have loved to be exposed to all of that Paramedic life, it would provide a refresing reality punch to the kidneys for me! Its great to hear that you are geting out there and doing somthing to change your life. At least you are doing your studies with a life experience those of us fresh from high school dont have.

Just out of curiosity what is the significants of your online name? Sounds cool anyways...

I was having an interesting conversation today about all of the carear ideas we go through as children and adolesents.

My stages: SAS troop (childhood-im way to much of a runt! anyway), Police officer, psychologist and as of the last few years and definately sticking -Paramedic.

Just out of curiosity what type of ability is being developed when you learn how to see these things? Is it just a particular type of entity that is being seen or is this the development of the ability to see any entity in general?

If the ability to see entities easily, like the ability to see auras, were to be developed imagine the potential negative side effects and mental health concerns. I wonder if any people who are diagnosed with a mental illness are actually seeing real entities.

But of course there are two sides two every coin, and the gaining of increased awareness alone, in my opinion, is a big enough positive to balance the potential negatives.

Hello all,

I have been having dificulty posting for a while and I wanted to add this earlier.

In the literature I have read about p-shifting I have noticed frequent reference to 'Grey' spirits. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Also I have a really old fashion black magick ritual to become a werewolf, It is has some aspects which I consider to be well thought out ritual (although I do not practice 'black magick') and a lot of eye of newt, tounge of toad type dribble too. Im sure there would be more credible rituals out there if you were motivated to find them. Well I guess I would be one of the people you mentioned. Im not sure why I have the connection I wrote about in the Tangable entitites forum. I dont regard myself as having a wolf soul, and I dont have fantasys about being a werewolf.

Before a little self disclosure I must stress that I am of the most peaceful and gental personality type. I hate fighting unless its absolutly necisary, I never find humor in the misfortune of others (harmless fun and jokes aside). Im even persuing a career as a paramedic because I find great reward in helping others. So you get the picture that Im not a bad guy.

BUT... I love stalking things (not in the whole law suit perverted sence but the hunting sence ). Ill stalk up on the cat or the dog for a laugh. As a kid (ok at least a week ago) I would revel in sneaking up on family members to scare them or wait to ambush them. But you see although its all harmless disturbing fun its the mind set its done in which is the worry. I get really involved in what Im doing. I have great ability in moving silently, Im of a very fine build (skinny runt!) and can move up on even finely senced animals easily if the the wind plays its part. In the past when I have gone to the bush to meditate or do some bush walking I would slip into a state of predator like scanning and hunting. It all must seem pretty weird I guess. Another 'wolf like' characteristic of myself is an attraction to blood. Im sure this will sound a little (or very) disturbed but I cant get enough of the smell, and if you have ever licked a minor wound (hay its high in iron!) I adore the taste.

I have read about lycantropy which is a mental condition where people believe they are part animal. I dont believe I am part wolf at all. Who knows I perhaps could share some sort of soul bond to a wolf, but Im not going to delude myself into believing this. I just have a strong attraction to the creature and posses some characteristics of its nature. Some would say that I have warning characteristics of becoming a perdatory human (some things I have mentioned are warning signs of a developing psycopath) but I find no satisfaction in harming other people. Such a comment would be the untimate insult. I actually find that people in crisis are drawn to me for help, so I probbably dont give off 'nasty person' vibes.

I have read during recent research that people born on the winter solstice (June 21st) in the southern hemisphere are prone to were characteristics. Which gave me a gasp because you guessed it...thats by bith date. Also the theory of like drawing to like has not held true in this case. As I have no friends who are similar. I have read accounts of weres working as a pac or as lone wolfs (hehe). Im not sure how much of an association there is between the wolf as we know it and the werewolf. I believe they have little related.

To come away a little from the werewolf thing and more on anything which manifests its self into the physical world...

Mankind can project himself into the astral and have control over his form while there. So you would be naive to believe  that an entity which  'belongs' in another plane could not potentially posses the ability to alter its form while in the physical world.  An entity that comes and forms in the physical could be subject to de-manifestation and could possibly not be subject to the limitations of normal physical mortality. And yes some form of de-manifesting substance would prove effective. However a creature which is a transformation of a human is an entirely physical based being. And would be subject to physical laws. If a werewolf of similar creature did indeed exist I see no reason why it could not be killed by normal means. Perhaps a de-manifesting material could make things easier. Its not something you get to try often I guess.
