Welcome to Astral Chat! / Slaves to the system
February 05, 2004, 17:00:26
it may be easier said than done, but it's still easy to do if you actually get off your butt and do it rather than sitting there thinking it's so hard to do [:)].

a lot of things that people say are "easier said than done" aren't even difficult to do. it just takes *effort*. try it some day, you'll find that actually trying to do something get's it done a lot faster than just sitting around saying it can't happen [|)]

the 1 corinthians thing was done on page three already. here was part of my post on it:

quote:
the greek word used in 1 cor 6:9 for effeminate is also translated to an instrument of unnatural lust. it can also be used to denote: soft to the touch, delicate, softness, languor, indisposition, weakness, infirmity of body, though those definitions are not what is meant in that passage (i'd love to post the greek words as well, but i'd have to make an image to do that. maybe i will later and just edit it in)

the greek word used next (the one that exothen posted as homosexual) means: one who lies with a male, a sodomite. ... well, i guess i'm wrong then ^_^ , the bible is fairly explicit on homosexuality.

so at least one of the apostles taught that homosexuality is wrong. (and for whoever it is that is believing that the bible is all of jesus words or jesus wrote the whole thing, it's just not so. in one point in the bible i believe it was peter who mentioned something about gentiles being less christian than jews because the gentiles were uncircumcised. and in another place i believe it was paul who contended that and said that all people, gentile and jew, are all God's people. i'm likely wrong about some details in there since i'm doing this from memory so if anyone can provide a verse for that it would be helpful [:)]. so the bible is not 100% "savvy" with itself, but i think people tend to forget that it's not the bible that is the christ, but jesus who is the christ [|)]. sorry, just stirring up more controversy [:D])

magic is just /one more/ method of changing the world around us [:)] .

whether it is the "highest" is a matter of opinion. but my opinion is that "no", there is at least one "higher" (or more potent, more effective, more ... etc) method of changing the world [:)] .

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Odin tells it like it is!
February 05, 2004, 12:24:43
i have a serious question (and yes i am being serious despite it sounding like i'm joking). in my life, i've heard about people following odin a number of times, and each time the follower seems to be rather arrogant. my question is: Odin, do you like for your followers to appear arrogant, or do you dislike the appearance they seem to be giving themselves?

well dk, your posts can be confusing at times. first you go on complaining about how bad off you are, and then you pretty much say "well bully to you, suck it up" when others say they've got it hard.

(i'm not one who's having trouble distinguishing myself from others, and even going beyond myself to think about others first dark knight, just so you know [:)].)

many members of these forums have gone through a bit of hell in their own lives. at one point in my life i was going to kill myself because i was scared that i was going to loose control of myself and hurt someone around me. i've been through many many psychic attacks in my life time and i've cowered from none of them, i've even stood up to God Himself on a couple of occassions when we had a ... "difference of opinion", but the one thing about my life that does scares me even to this day is that i could loose control and hurt someone else.

you complained that nay's attacks are nothing compared to what you've had to go through. i say that your attacks are nothing compared to what i've had to go through. does that mean i should look down on you and be mean to you if you try to help me but fail? i say no. when people try to help me, even if they fail to be able to do so, i still thank them for the kindness they displayed in trying. perhaps you could try that too [:)].

may you find wellness in your heart and in your mind ms. knight [:)].

(and one last thing for some clarity: no, ms. knight, i don't look down on you for the attacks you've been going through. i've felt pity that you've been having it so hard and i had now way of being able to help. i feel that way about a lot of people who post on the psychic self defense forum, and for a while i stayed away from this forum because i felt i could be of no use because i cannot astral project to people and take away their problems for them. but i've realized since then that not everyone needs someone else to "slay their demons" for them, that some people just need some good advice or even just an uplifting comment. granted, i'm not perfect and at times i post out of frustration and anger, but i still try to help people whenever i can. and the people who have said "thank you" to me showed more than enough appreciation for me to want to keep trying [:)])

neo: buy and bye sound the same, and they're even from the same language, but they don't mean the same thing :) . so what makes you think that two different words from two different languages have the *exact* same meaning just because they sound the same?

i'm guessing you've never heard the stories of some of america's bigger companies expanding overseas to asian countries and sometimes having to change their product names over there because they had bad connotations in the other country's tounge.

my own research indicates that while chi and ki are /similar/ in meaning, they do not refer to or describe exactly the same. there is some difference of opinion between the chinese belief and the japanese believe about what chi and ki are and where each comes from.

please stop with the "you just have to believe" stuff. i didn't believe that i could do tk when i first started moving the pin-wheel. i didn't believe that i could affect the weather when i first tried (and i got a success). i didn't believe that i could read minds when it first started happening to me. i didn't believe that i was feeling other peoples' emotions when i started becoming empathic. i believed each of these things (and more) only AFTER each started happening to me. so obviously belief is not a factor.

what IS a factor is disbelief. everytime that i disbelieved that i could do something, it wouldn't happen. even if i'd already done it a number of times. but my suggestion is: don't expect a result. neither believe nor disbelieve. just do what you're trying to do, and /wait/ for the result, don't expect it, don't believe it, don't disbelieve it. (at least, don't expect any type of result when you are actually trying to get one. before you are trying expect anything you want, but don't expect as you are trying to get results)

also believing can have a negative effect in that you could have a "miss" but you decide in your own mind that it is a "hit" because you want it to be a "hit". so really, be neither believing nor disbelieving, just watching and waiting. analyze results with an unbiased mind. (and if you can't do that, spend time learning how. it's an incredibly useful thing to have :) )

Welcome to Astral Chat! / How to mess up your life
February 05, 2004, 11:03:10
why not change your name aries? after all arie was here first :P

the list, eh. let's see what i'm guilty of ^_^
4) Become narrow-minded
8) Become suspicious of everything and everyone (but only to a minor degree)
13)Always speak your mind freely (not always, but often enough :) )
16)Never stick up for yourself

wow, now many.

it occurs when the brain has no input from your eyes (ie, when your eyelids are closed).

do a websearch for sensory deprevation and marvel at the things that happen when your brain isn't getting any input :) .

did jesus use love when he confronted the pharasees? when he called them hypocrites and snakes? when he overturned the money changing tables? [|)]

sure jesus did preach love, to the lost and those who need it, but not to those who ACTIVELY were messing with God's Will. if a man strikes you across your right cheek, turn to him the other also, but if a man willingly and consciously acts against God then you are to have nothing to do with them. (note the context: if a person acts against you, forgive them. if a person acts against God, don't hate them, but don't associate with them. if they still try to attack you, rebuke them, turn them from you, defend yourself. but once they give it up, let them go. but all of that is from a christian perspective.)

edit: thanks for the compliment shedt [:)]. but there was also another point that i was trying to make: (and this applies to DK and anyone else) if someone helps you, don't turn on them. it's just common sense :) .

~kakkarot

DK: fight the evil ones, the ones causing you pain. not the ones who are trying to help you. be loving to your friends, and fight against those who would hurt you.

i myself have also seen too many times when someone would try to help you and you would verbally assault them back. true, this negative attack against you might be happening, but that doesn't give you the right to hurt other people.

perhaps EVERYONE involved in this discussion, should step away from their computers and think about what's been going on and also to take a deep calming breath, before they reply again.

[:)] light and love to those who would help you [:)].

i can't help you directly but i'd like to suggest that if you can't fend him off yourself that you keep your own psychic awareness and abilities hidden from him (although i sure you already know this ^_^ ).

for now, i suggest just focus on keeping yourself free from his influence, and keeping the fact that you are free hidden from him. as well, if you can find a magic group in the school or area (and who have morals) you could try bringing him to their attention.

as well, if you are good at manipulating people, you could try pretending like you are really interested in him, and then lead him to start making boasts about himself at one time, and then finding a way to use those boasts to trap him while others are around. of course, spring the trap in such a way that you still look like you "believe" him but are merely "confused" as to why his statements conflict "a bit". (i love doing that to jerks, it doesn't make me look like i've got something against them, while at the same time placing strong doubts in everyone elses' minds.)

it's the mind trying to deal with visual sensory deprevation. it is normal [:)].

most of the human race IS on the same "wavelength". it's just that some of us rise about that. perhaps you should focus more on yourselves and your own development rather than worrying about whether the rest of humanity will "catch up to you".

heh, funny you should mention egomaniacs rhinegirl ;)

as for acidmax: humans have been making crap up for eons and saying it was from God. you could be just another spec of sand on the beach for all anyone knows...

but in genuine interest, i'll ask you a serious question: What is the Will of God?

make that two questions: What is the Word of God?

a soul is a soul: it has no gender, no race, no ethnicity, nothing like that. it IS, however, very manipulatable, and can often times feel like it is part something else. but that feeling can change in the blink of an eye.

as an experiment once i caused myself to feel like i was half-elf (going by my own ideas of what an elf and a half elf might be), then i went on to half-cat, then to vampire, then to part-God. it's just a feeling, and the soul has sooo many of those.

it could be a brain problem of not being able to distinguish mental reality (her thoughts) from percieved reality (what her senses tell her), or it also sounds like it /might/ (can't say for certain) be the result of a spiritual being's influence of some sort (whether by temporary posession, telepathic intrution, or whatnot).

if you think it might be metaphysical, i suggest finding someone who can sense energy and ask them to go over her body. if they can't sense anything, go to two or three others. if none of them find anything, take her to a neurologist. (if one of them does find something they'll likely be able to help you further with it).

you're not tapping into God, acidmax. God wouldn't help you hurt people like that. you're likely merely tapping into the source energy of existance, but not God (especially with they way you are describing it).

actually, it's normal for your brain to be very active. meditation helps to make your brain less chaotically active (and there are benefits to each, but many people enjoy the benefits of having a calm mind over a hyper one).

i mean, it's not like only people who already have a calm mind can practice meditation: that's like saying that hospitals are only for the healthy ^_^ .

realistically though, and it is kinda scary, the usa COULD try to pull that kind of bs. anyone ever hear of the "Homeland Security Agency" that was implemented within the past two years? in the usa?

NOT evil? i'm sorry, but causing other people pain IS evil. REGARDLESS of the reason why. there is no real "justified evil". and if you think that breaking someone's wrist and ribs is not evil, i think you need to think about how you'd view the situation if someone did those things to someone you cared about.

do these things or not, it's not up to me to tell you what to do, but don't delude yourself into thinking that hurting others isn't evil. even if "they started it".
