It just takes practice and patience for this to work.  When you are able to do it, it is great.  It is an extra skill you can have if other things fail.  It is very easy to do.  You do not have to pull or stretch to get out of your body.  All you need is confidence.  I learnt myself.  I wish I knew earlier how to do it.  Now I just zoom out of myself.  It was hard at first but it got easier.  Now it is extremely easy.  I know I can do it.  If you do not do anything about trying to get all the way out of your body, you are risking the ap to end.

I do not know if it is the third eye.  I do know you can ap when you see images.  Focus on the images.  Do not think of your physical self otherwise it will end.  If you get involved in it, you will ap there.

I will deal with the first problem.  You are doing well.  Keep at it.  You just need more confidence.  That is how it was with me.  When you know you can do it, it will be very easy.  Keep trying to get further out.  When you are getting out, keep saying, I can do it and keep repeating it.  You should be able to get out.  The more you try to do it, the easier it will get.

You are correct if you think of your physical self the ap will end.  I have done that accidentally a number of times.  I like your idea of how you keep your mind awake.  I must try that.  I used to but I got lazy.  Hopefully I will try that again.

It is the opposite for me.  I guess everyone is different and what works for one person may not work for another.  I try to be aware of how my body is feeling.  If my forehead feels like it is getting relaxed, it means I will ap any moment.  If I miss that sign I usually fall asleep.  Other times my body feels different so I know it is time to ap.  Sometimes my inner self leaves my body.  If I am not aware of what is happening I may not notice it.  Sometimes I might see something when I am meditating.  When that happens I know I can ap.

When you cannot see anything or feel that you are detached, keep saying I can see until you can see very well.

Only once I ap straight into the ocean.  I saw bubbles and fish.  It was really good but I was not prepared for it so a thought came into my mind what if I saw a shark.  I realised that I should not have thought of that so I closed my eyes.  I did not want to see a shark.  Since that experience I have wanted to go underwater.  I think it would be a great experience.

Thanks again everyone.  Today I was thinking about it.  It was at the back of my mind.  You are right.  There probably is a reason why I should talk to people.  I was taken to a place and dropped off there at that location.  There could a message for me or something to know about.  Next time I will investigate.

Hi Lionheart, in the physical we see people at the shops, sports grounds, on the street etc.  Mostly people do not talk to each other unless they know someone.  I assume that is the same in the spiritual world.  I suppose they are there doing things.  I never really thought about it.  I am not sure what things.

I suppose you are right.  If I try to ignore them that does not seem to work.  Someone follows me and I am not able to get rid of them.  Next time I will talk to them.

All you can do is to practice and keep trying.  I would not give up on what you were trying to do.  You said you got your hand out of your body but it was only a half a second.  Next time you try it, you will probably be better at it.  Practice makes perfect.  I have had a lot of failures but I kept trying and I got better at it.  If you do not want to do that, you could do an ap technique.  Whatever your interests are, you could, do a technique such as playing tennis, throwing a ball or anything that interests you.  You could imagine floating or flying.

Before I ap, I say to myself concentrate and ap.  That is very important otherwise I will not ap if I fall asleep.  I keep telling myself ap is easy.  If you think it is easy, ap is easy to do.

Thank you all for your replies.  It is great getting ideas from other people.  I realise I cannot let anyone distract me.  If I do then I will never reach my goals.  If there are people around I will have to get myself aware.  I cannot talk to anyone until I get myself aware.  That is the first thing to do, otherwise I have a higher chance of dream things happening.   I cannot let it stop me.  When I get my awareness then I will go where I want to go to or I could interact with people. That sounds interesting what you said Lionheart and Bedeekin.  That is something to think about.

That is really good to hear.  I am glad it is working for you.  It is a shame you got scared.  The more experience you get the easier it will get for you.

Hi all, When I am out of my body I get distracted as there are people around.  How do I travel somewhere when there are people around.  Do I pretend the people are not there so I will not get distracted.  It is preventing me from going to places where I want to go to.  I did not get myself aware as I got distracted.  Any Ideas. 
This morning when I ap it sounded like a helicopter was close to me.  I felt myself moving into the helicopter and a man was flying it.  It was weird.  I was just letting you know how strange it was.

I have moved out of my body and I could feel myself travelling very fast.  I was not able to move as I was travelling extremely fast.  I tried to move but I was not able to.  I thought it was fun.  Occasionally I travel very fast out of my body and I look forward to it.  I just stay relaxed and I enjoy the ride.  After a while I stop at some place and I look at the scenery.  It is very exciting.

I am starting to ap in bed like I used to.  That is really good because I am increasing my chances.  This morning I said to myself, I can ap in bed.  Just concentrate so I do not fall asleep.  I decided to breath slowly in and out.  Normally I do not breath slowly.  I saw a face.  I thought what do I do.  Then I thought it is time to get out of my body so I did.  I got out of myself very fast and I was in my house.  Later on I remembered I have to get my awareness but it was too late, I went back into my body and I woke up.  I was lying in bed again and I thought I will try again.  I was breathing in and out and I saw a tree but I was still aware that I was in my body.  I tried to forget about my body and focus on what I was seeing.  It worked.  I remembered to get myself aware and I was at the beach.  I could feel the sand etc.  I felt aware but not as aware as I should have been.  When I woke up I realised that I did not see very well.  There is always something that I do not do right or I mess it up.  I have to keep practicing and to improve my ap,s.

I agree with Xanth.  Practice meditating and tell yourself everyday that you can ap as long as it takes.  Everyone else can so you can too.  Keep saying it even if you do not ap.  When you have not ap or have not ap in a long time, you start to think you cannot ap.  If you think you cannot ap, ap becomes a lot harder to do.

Sounds great.  I am happy for everyone that has one of those gadgets.   It sounds exciting.  It would be wonderful to have something to look forward to.  It makes me feel I would like to have one but I decide not to.   If I really want to ap, I mostly can.  I just have to make the effort to really want to ap.

You are right Xanth, ap is supposed to be simple.  That is all there is to it.  You can do an ap technique, imagine something or place or you do not have to.  I like what Bedeekin says.  Do practice before bed. If so take a short nap earlier in the evening. Also there is no harm in trying before sleep as it will increase your chance of experiencing one. Why decrease your practice?

Telling people that APing in bed isn't the best thing or not to be comfortable is narrowing their choices and expectation and may only be applicable to the very few.
If you can ap in bed that is better than going somewhere else.  I used to be able to ap in bed a lot.  I occasionally can ap in bed but not that often.  It does not matter if you ap in bed or not.  You do what works best for you as everyone is different.  If you can get into a very comfortable position without falling asleep that is good as well.  Of course, you would still do that as it works for you.  You find ways what works best for you.  If something does not work then you try something else.

It is best to get enough sleep otherwise you have a high chance of falling asleep.  Do not sleep in a position that is too comfortable and if you try to ap in bed you have a higher chance of falling asleep as we are programmed to go to sleep when we go to bed.
