Welcome to Book Reviews! / John Twelve Hawks
May 03, 2006, 13:33:07
Thanks for posting that information esoel.

From checking the Amazon website, it looks like the book will be available here in the US this summer.

This is part of a Bookmarks Magazine review: "First in a projected trilogy called The Fourth Realm, The Traveler impressed all critics. Twelve Hawks presents big ideas about free will and determinism, good versus evil, social control, and alternate dimensions, all while impressing with knowledge ranging from the New Testament to string theory."

Quote from: El-BortukaliThey don't want anything to compete  with the fiction they have created and maintained for 2000 years ;D

The hold that fiction maintains on people, as you've pointed out, can be enormous.

It is also true that any religion can use their "sacred book" as a way of promoting a blind consensus behavior in their followers. This behavior most often separates  them from those who disagree. The fanatical results are often the very opposite of what the religion is supposed to be about.

Quote from: GrigoriOh it's refered to as a "Reverse DNS lookup" where DNS is the acronym for "Domain Name System" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_DNS

You can just querry google for "reverse dns search" sites then enter "astralpulse.com" and you'll get 70.86.145.120

PhpBB forums are a little tricky though because they actually use 2 servers that can be on different computers one for the html querries and one for the MySQL querries ... the IP above is just for the site.

I should warn you though rendering IP addresses is a gateway skill to harder  more addicting internet abilities ... soon you'll be staying up all night hacking .gov servers completely unable to stop yourself  :yikes2:

Thanks Grigori for the tips (and the caveat)

Quote from: GrigoriBased on the IP address it looks like the server is in Texas ...
(TEXAS   DALLAS   THEPLANET.COM INTERNET SERVICES INC)

Thanks for that Grigori-

How did you locate this IP address? Curious, because I'd like to know how to do that.
