Beingon the beach has ben recurrent theme for my dream. Also meeting my deceased Great Grandma.

I think phasing style is more Moen like than Monroe. Monroe use the more traditional OBE style approach (although if I'm not mistaken his latter work is a kind of hybrid).

Alan Guiden seven steps.

1. Desire
2. Controlled Relaxation
3. Visualization and Destination
4. Direct Lift-out
5. Awareness
6. Travel
7. Return and Memory

More from http://www.acadiacom.net/studynet/vibeout8.html

1. Desire very important to me personally. There are many time I've found out that I've projected with that factor alone (at least a very major factor). I was like, my I have not projected for so long, it's time for another one and then I go (and the cycle repeats again).

3. Destination is soo important too. Floating out and in my body lazily is not very productive and has happen because of pure lazyness.

More later.

Nick,

Guess what, today I checked that site and the site is on! Must be something wrong last time.

http://www.acadiacom.net/studynet/

Regarding A.G, he has a downloadable book available for free called Traveling: An Accidental Expert's How-To Leave Your Body Handbook. It was a great simple book (jargon free) suitable for those new to projecting and can be helpful to old-timer as well. Beware of the style of humor though (although I found it okay).

I've e-mail him asking about the sequel for the first book as it says download but I've found no download link.

I've found the method of inducing relaxation by trying to feel your pulse in a particular area of your body and then slowing it down (called how to induce incapacity) somewhere on the net 2 years ago but can't seem to find it anymore.

Can we delete our already uploaded avatar? If we can't, what will happen if we upload avatar with the same name? Will it be overwritten?

The problem of astral projection or obe is that all our fear, expectation, desire, personality, all get projected to the outside. Often they will look very real. That's why being scared will almost guarantee the experience will be scary.

In my sleep pralysis or onset of OBE I've seen many things which doesn't make sense, people coming in, being touched or pulled out of my body, sensing presence, hearing strange sound and other thing. I admit that sometime I do feel afraid. But when I try to take control of my feeling, the feeling of dread dissipate and I found out that there is not much to be feared. Also sometime I've been frightened by my own projected double which might be related to mind split effect.

Try searching for keyword "presence" in OBE and astral conciousness section. There are nany interesting thread regarding that.

The bit about the probability of a house building itself being zero is wrong IMO. A cave could be a house, there are a lot of them around, they are natural, and some of them are more servicable than a lot of human built homes. therefore a house can build itself..

That bit of argument is not very sound IMHO. You could class a cave as a house, or you could class it as part of nature which I think is more in line with the original argument of house creating itself. The argument of a house building itself is based on the logic, like the house, the universe (including but not limited to a cave) must also be created. Although this argument can go on and on like who created the one creating this universe? Which is not very productive IMHO. Very confusing and I lay my case to rest.[|)]

BTW, I believe that there is a creator of the universe which is very different from us and to use our 3D logic here to the creator would not give us a very good understanding. Sort of a fish trying to figure out the world outside of the ponds it lives in.

Could be. When I brought the subjects of sleep paralysis, one of my friend says that sometime he feels like he was floating a couple feet above his body (and he didn't like it and not into OBE). I do remember once feeling floating a couple of feet above my body though.

When you try the rope technique, do you mean that you already have the vibration? Because if you already have the vibration, then it's better to just stop whatever your doing (climbing rope for example) because this is it. Just relax or bath into the vibration. I found out that if I just relax into them and not disturbing them with any kind of projection technique whatsoever my non-physical body will get loose and float effortlessly. Or you might just bath in the vibration for a while then at some point you just float, roll out or wake up from your body.

Sometime we might not notice our breath but that does not mean that we're not breathing. Like when we sleep, we can go to sleep trusting that we're still breathing while at the same time losing our conciousness. It has become automatic (much like most of the time on the physical). But I understand that it might worry you that maybe you have stopped breathing. Practicing more will help you get over the the idea that you must be aware of your breath at all time.

One more thing, I notice that when I'm relaxing, very deeply I would feel heavinees or pressure on my body (ex. my chest, head, arm etc). The feeling come from being deeply relaxed as the muscle let go of all tension and it is nothing to be worried about. Most of the time we are very tense and being deeply relaxed give such agreat contrast to us.

2 cents.

If you would read other book, you would be surprised to see what is written there. Knowledge that is not known until the modern time and many wisdom.

To you your religion, to me my religion.

One thing that I don't like on psionic and psionic related website such as psipog etc is I got the feel like it is some hip thing or pop culture [8D] (or is it really is?[;)]). Add some pseudo-scientific explanation and terminology which some suppose as the truth rather dogmatically (and some are so sure that their explaination is the only truth). Don't get me wrong, it might help you much if you like it. Also, their tendency to classify people into non and what not.

Why the need to add new terminology such as remote presence, PEA (projecting etheric astral)? Although I agree that some of the "original" terminology might not be that accurate but it has been used much. To put it in another phrase, why the isolation factor?

Ideally it is best not to  notice our breath but now and then we'll notice it. I agree with Nay that if you feel a need to breath, just breath and then resume your projection. Sometime I even notice my breath conciously in the physical while still having a projection (especially if there is some problem with breathing) and then transfer back the focus to the astral.

This is probably not related but Nay, where do you get that cool avatar? [:)]

Feeling the heart rate beating is probably the heart centre becoming active. I remember only having it once. As for inducing vibration (if I'm not mistaken) there is an exercise in Robert Peterson online books which is available for free on http://www.robertpeterson.org/obebook.html Great read, by the way.

Personally, I've found out that it is not necessary to feel the vibration to OBE. I do get them sometime. It's always nice gentle buzzing vibration. Although right now I happen to remember some of my dream involving violent vibration like theme such as seeing image of train and hearing the scream quite often in my childhood. Probably they smooth out.

The easiest way to obe for me and the one I used most is try to catch myself going to sleep.

I just want to add that when we obe we do not necessarily leave our physical body behind. In some of my OBE I've regain control on some parts of my physical body (at least for some time), moving them while still in an OBE. I've once OBE while struggling in sleep paralysis. I think it all depends on where we concentrate our mind or awarenesss  more.

Astral weapon of mass destruction? What about casualties?

James,

Yep, we've often hears of militants in the name of religion. Not just islam, there are christians, jews, hindus and other are also guilty of this. By the  way the concept of jihad were very much misused today. Those who killed themselves in suicide bombing are actually committing harms to themselves here or in the afterlife according to islamic teaching. There is no such thing as killing themselves and other people and guaranteeing themselves a place in heaven. Much less the concepts of granting other people in the family a place in heaven. Everyone needs to be responsible for their own action.

Intolerance be they religious, or politics or whatnots have led to many pointless violence. It seems surprising that all the central figures of various religion strongly advocate tolerance and acceptance but there is always someone in position of authority willing to twist the fact to further their agenda. And there are always those who are susceptible to this influence. Religion is not wrong. In fact many good have come from it. But it's a powerful tools and there are always those who misuse it.

Damn..

I was thinking along the lines of Gundam or macross robots. Now It's not unique anymore...[:(]

They said that the pen is mightier than the swords... So, it's only natural that my weapon of choice will be an "Astral Pen"!!![8D]

Also having an astral torchlight would be useful to navigate dark corner..[;)]

You could be onto something with the lack of conciousness (or awareness). It seems that I'm not that concious when I'm falling down from my bed. There is also the instance that I feel I'm like a ball, hollow and accelerating on my bodies orbit. I don't feel that my mind is in top notch condition either . But there are time that I try to project and felt the same hollow feeling too (but with more conciousness at least compared to that).

What you said about a very thin layers where we barely even know its us is interesting. Maybe there is some truth to that. The hollowness is not always but often enough to warrant notice. Other time, my body feels different, not that hollow. Also I noticed that you have many SP episode, so do I. Is there any relation? It would help if there are more people relating this type of experience so that we can compare notes.

It's not so much that they want to strap bomb on themselves and kill "infidels"(whatever that means) as the desperation in their situation. More about about survival, of others, to some. Either way, they lose. People killed themselves for many reason. Could be related to revenge, hatred, pity, depression, loss or what not. It's not as simple as we would like to believe in our comfortable life. And not to say bomb strapping is right in any way.

Do we see what is real or do we see what we want to see?
#99
Thanks all for your feedback.

Risu no Kairu, (is that Japanese? what does it means?)

I sure hopes I'm as talented as you say but frankly speaking, I just have strange sleeping patern due to some event in my childhood making me half asleep half anticipating something to happens. Not to mention waking up in the middle of the night having SP. So I think that you're better off as you're more prepared.

Eventhough you say it's just a speculation, you do raise good points. I remember reading about the astral wind occurance in some book but frankly it was raining and windy at that time. So maybe it's  a physical sensation after all. Though I never feel the rain.

What I found in my experience is that sometime I can have two awareness, on my physical body and non-physical to varying degree. Must be mind split effect...

I've felt the falling sensation but this is different. There was not so much of a falling sensation as an actual fall. No time to feel a feeling sensation. I was practically falling from my bed. Very much like a physical fall.

Weagle,

I've tried using eye sweeping tricks and asking for clarity but they seems to work only once... Maybe related to expectation? Opening my non-physical eyelids give mixed result. I could be switching on my no-physical sight or I might open my physical sight. I have the mystic web courses but has no chance to read it yet. I'll check on the conjuration stuff (why does this sounds scary?).

Greytraveller,

I ask about the hollow body because there are time that my body does not seems that hollow, it sort of buzz or filled by some speck (hard to illustrate here). Btw it was during te start of projection that I notice this as I haven't try to focus on my body that much while in the middle of projection. Could it be lack of energy?

What I found interesting is why does my phys. body so much repel my non-physical at that time. What am I doing right? Is there anything about the polarity of each body that make seperation so effortless and hw to duplicate it? Guess I need to experiment more.

I don't remember if there was any kind of machine but one time in a sleep paralysis state I sort of see from inside of my skull. It was like viewing from inside a camera shutter.
