I had a go last night but didn't get any strong impressions [:(]

Hi IntuitiveOne,

These are basically the first readings I've done, (I wanted some practice), so I had to look everything up.  I found that if I wrote down keywords for all the cards in a reading and looked for patterns that way I could maybe compensate for my lack of knowledge [:)]

I used this online tarot course:
http://www.learntarot.com/top.htm

and the little book that comes with the Rider Waite deck.

Also I read somewhere that you should really try and use your intuition sparked off by the images on the cards and relations between them, so I tried to do that.  No idea how successful I was though...

The site you mentioned is pretty good for online readings, (much better than the one I had tried), but it's much nicer having a real person do a reading, so if you want to do one for me that would be great!

I would like to know about how successful my pursuit of spiritual disciplines will be over the next year.  In particular, I'm thinking of taking up a form of meditation that requires a lot of commitment, and I want to know if I am making the right decision with regard to the teacher etc.

I don't think it's a good idea to anticipate enlightment, or wonder how long it's gonna take you...

A fortnight on Tuesday's good for me! [:)]

I know what you mean, but the idea is that if say Earth is in Satya yuga 10,000 years from now, the beings that incarnate here would generally be much more spiritually advanced than in our current age.  For us, if at that time we didn't fit the bill we would incarnate somewhere else more appropriate to our level of development.  The actual cycles are supposedly of fixed durations, so yes they are mechanical in that sense.  Of course, there's no proof of this - but it's what the ancient rishis of India wrote.
#79
I think in part that this means it is somewhat easier to achieve enlightment than it used to be, or at least doesn't take as long

According to the theory of 'yugas' we have recently entered Dwapara yuga from Kali yuga in the equinoctial cycle, so yes people who incarnate here generally have less far to travel than people a few hundred years ago.  And thousands of years into the future in Satya yuga, people who will incarnate will have an innate high degree of enlightenment.

Odorless garlic is considerable less effective, since it's the sulphates you want in the first place.
Most current ones preserve the sulphur compounds after the 'de-stinking' process.[:D]
#81
I wasn't willing to try more 'eccentric' tchniques but I found odourless garlic capsules effective for a mild neg problem. (Basically really weird nightmares waking up into sleep paralysis and seeing astral spiders befire waking up fully.)
Also, if you break the capsules you get odourless garlic juice which is less smelly than the fresh stuff :-)

From The New Scientist a few months ago:

Solar wind to shield Earth during pole flip

09:30 15 May 04

Hollywood now has one less disaster scenario to worry about. The Earth, it seems, will be safe when its magnetic field falters during the next reversal of its magnetic poles.

A new model of the way the Earth interacts with the solar wind indicates that a replacement field will form in the upper atmosphere during the switch.

Scientists had previously thought that the planet would be left without a protective shield to stop lethal radiation from space reaching the surface.

The strength of the Earth's magnetic field is known to drop during "magnetic reversals", when the north and south poles swap places. Records of the field direction, frozen into sediments laid down on the seabed, show that the magnetic field has reversed hundreds of times in the past 400 million years.

In normal circumstances, the magnetic field protects the Earth's surface from dangerous high-energy particles, including particles from the sun and cosmic rays from deep space.

But as the field switches polarity, it can drop to below 10 per cent of its normal strength for thousands of years. Such a weakened field would allow lethal radiation to reach the Earth's surface, with potentially disastrous consequences for the atmosphere, the climate and particularly for life.

Opportune moment

In a paper to be published in the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics, Guido Birk and Harald Lesch of the University of Munich, Germany, and Christian Konz of the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching report an investigation of exactly what happens when the field is drastically reduced or vanishes altogether.

Their simulations show that the solar wind - the million-kilometre-an-hour stream of hydrogen and helium nuclei from the sun - wraps itself around the Earth in a way that induces a magnetic field in the ionosphere as strong as the original field.

"We were quite surprised about its effectiveness," Lesch says.

The news comes at an opportune moment. The Earth's magnetic field is showing worrying signs that it is about to reverse again. Not only has the magnetic north pole wandered by 1100 kilometres in the past 200 years, but its strength is dropping at a rate of 5 per cent a century.

"This is the fastest decrease since the last reversal 730,000 years ago," Lesch says.

Hmmm sorry majour ka, I think you're in my house!  I watched 'The Last Samurai' last night, now that is a really great film.

Hmmm... I had my first (and last I hope) incubus experience last night.

But I think it 'checked me out' a couple of weeks back - I was staying at a friend's house and I had drunk alcohol for the first time in ages, both probably contributing factors?
Anyway, that morning I woke up to the sensation of being kissed...
(I was in bed alone.)
This was actually very pleasant but I was a bit wary of it and kind of mentally withdrew from it and I heard a woman's voice say 'Don't stop!' but I pulled away and then felt an energetic sensation going for my head, which triggered a kind of instinctive reaction for me to focus attention there and push it away if you get what I mean.
Then I woke up fully.
I thought about this for some days afterwards, thinking I wouldn't mind if that happened again...  but it did occur to me that this might be some form of neg.

Anyway a couple of weeks passed and last night I had a very peculiar dream...  I don't remember it all, but I think I was examining a number of strange objects.  One of them was a weird looking doll, but as I examined it, I noticed the skin was real as I touched it, then the doll's beady little eyes sprang to life, they were quite malevolent and the dolls arms got larger and spread out as if to wrap around me.  The next thing I remember was the sound of a woman groaning etc. as if she was having sex and then I woke up in sleep paralysis.

Anyway there was this black shape on top of me.  It looked like it had big horns, but that may have been a shadow on the ceiling above it's head.  I could feel slight pressure on my chest, and this (very male) voice said 'You have given me your soul.'
To which I replied 'No I ****ing haven't **** off you ****.'
Undeterred by this, the shape leant forward towards me, and I could see what looked like white vapour coming from my throat area towards it's head for a couple of seconds.  Then it disappeared as I broke the SP.

Between the first and the second experience I read PSD, and I seem to remember something about how examining objects in dreams or projections can trigger things like this.  But I didn't get the arousal that seem to be the hallmark of these things.  Trust my luck to get an incubus that's crap in bed. [:D]

I've had sleep paralysis so often now, that I was able to keep my composure through this.  But if this happened to someone out of the blue I can see it would be absolutely terrifying.

When I were a lad... The days when you could here a whole club full of people in various states of insobriety chanting along to Kula Shaker's Govinda were just something special.

Chances are that a footballer who believes himself a messiah...
Actually I think he was better known as a sports commentator, and a journalist for a while.  I don't know if that makes him more or less credible talking about...

SHAPE SHIFTING REPTILES FROM THE LOWER FOURTH DIMENSION!!!

I love that phrase. [:D]

Here is an interesting 2-part article 'Beset By Lizards' about the controversy surrounding David Icke on his Candian tour.  It has a few shock-horrors and few laughs if you fancy reading it.

I am currently reading Gopi Krishna's autobiography - 'Living With Kundalini'

I'm not far into it, but I'd already say it was a 'must read'.

One reviewer says:

"Gopi Krishna's description of the changes - psychological, physical, perceptual and biochemical - which can happen to a person who is in the process of an accelerated spiritual emergence process was the first definitive work written for the Western world about kundalini awakening.  This new book should be a great comfort to those trying to comprehend the process."

It's a really nice picture! I think it's even harder when it's not a real place, though.  I'm pleased about the recording equipment part, and it's interesting because in an earlier experiment halfphased picked up on a room in my house as well.

I'd kind of dismissed the thing I said about the woman holding up what looked like a red soldier, but I s'pose the picture shows a woman holding up reddish earth so maybe there was something symbolic going on there.  But the images I saw of the woman looked absolutely nothing like your picture.

Anyone wanna set the next target or shall I do another one?

Atalanta - you got an extra star for your 100th post congrats.

I just can't believe that something this far-fetched is being taken seriously and that makes me believe that this is a psychological phenomenon, not an esoteric one.

I don't think he is necessarily being taken very seriously by many people, I think from the psychological perspective, the things he says are so stunningly controversial, and involve the rich and famous, that people want to hear what he says.  I'm suprised he hasn't been sued out of existence.  Did you hear the one about Bill Clinton and George 'Dubya' at a sex party?

But he does highlight the fact that the same esoteric symbolism is attached to powerful organisations worldwide.  (I don't think you have to bring lizards into the equation to explain that, we have the freemasons). Also his case for high-profile deaths being government assasinations is something widely believed e.g. JFK.

His basic premise, physically shape-shifting reptillians... I think most people find that unbelievable.  But if you suggested that astral beings were influencing world events, I think very many people would be able to agree with that.

One book was enough for me, I think I get what all the fuss was about.

Wow, that little thingy up there! Wow! I went to the doctor today, and there it was, that little thingy up there.
LOL! That's often the way... I got a piece of junk mail yesterday with a logo of a red soldier like at the changing of the guard.
Perhaps my subconscious thought it was vitally important for me to know about textured wall coatings...

I still getting nothing about the project . . . *sighs* maybe I just really suck at this . . .
No way! You got pretty good results for AP2.  Anyway, this experiment is about as hard as it gets, you have to be brave just to post any results!

I've just finished his book 'The Biggest Secret'.
I can see why he is called 'the world's most controversial and challenging speaker!'

He thinks the British Royal family conspired to assasinate Princess Diana in a staged car-crash with a wealth of esoteric symbolism surrounding it.  Today the memorial to Diana was opened in Hyde Park, and the queen said:

"To find some... way to capture her spirit has been the challenge.
I congratulate those who have created the memorial before us." ...

"I believe that you have given the Park, at the very heart of our capital city that Diana knew so well, a highly original memorial which captures something of the essence of a remarkable human being."

The memorial is a giant granite ring with water flowing around it.
I wonder what David will make of that...

I have to say I am rather incredulous of much of what the book says, but I did have one rather strange experience after reading it.

I was talking to someone about the claims in the book that "the royal family are shape-shifting reptillians from the lower 4th dimension(!)"
This person I have known for ages, he's pretty strait-laced with no apparent interest in anything esoteric.  Our conversation happened as I was passing him a £2 coin, with the queen's head on it.
He reacted as I expected 'oh that nutter David Icke.'
Then he looked thoughtful and turned the coin over where there is a pattern on the reverse, and he said 'hmmm, looks like an Egyptian Sun God.'  That is precisely what David Icke is going on about for much of the book!

Hmmm...I tried last night - got nothing really.
But this morning without trying I got first of all a picture of what looked like electronic equipment, maybe for recording?  It was roughly drawn in neon blue(!)  There were some messages written there, but I fell asleep and forgot them.
Then later I got some of the most vivid hypnogogic imagery I've had -
looking across a road, and in the bottom left was a playing card
with a picture of a red knight on it.
There was a woman on the other side of the road in a red gown, maybe with a sash and a black hat.  She had quite thick rimmed glasses on, and she walked across the road to me and held up what looked like a small red toy soldier.  The message 'Who do you know?' came up.
I got up and wrote this down in case I fell asleep and forgot it again, but I guess it's all symbolism and may be unrelated to AP3.
The only place I can think of with red soldiers is the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace...

I'm pleased I can induce these images when I want to (even if they're wrong) - Had nothing like this for months, but hadn't been trying.

I'll keep trying, see if anything else comes up.

LOL I was way out!!
I thought the red triangle thing was pretty good!

Ill do one for every one. We can call it "Majour A.P3"
Cool!

Here is the picture for AP2 - it's the Taj Mahal!

Original image available here:
http://www.vanermengem.com/img/agra/kvein006s.jpg

We have the grey Nagual saw, and there's water but not rain.

Mystic Cloud got the blue background, but also said he saw a blond girl with 'very white teeth'.
I've done one of these before and found that an image of prominent white teeth represented white stone as we have here.

Reemy saw monkeys - I think we have monkeys in this area, but not in the picture.

Halfphased got the sky and clouds, but there's no concord.
Again perhaps the concord represents the white stone.

majourka was off in Mary Poppins land with pictures of blond girls and
women with umbrellas, and windy Monet paintings.
But you did say 'strong image of something almost triangular and red'
which is a very good description of the red paving in the picture
that surrounds the pond.
Also you mentioned someone in Arab headgear which might be your
ignoramusunconscious trying to communicate the idea of 'India' to you.

Immuredsoul saw Homer Simpson (DOH!), but then we got some really interesting stuff:
"Two people on it, one male, one female. The male was on the left, the female on the right. Somewhere was a giant 3, and I believe it said something like Summertime or Summer Fun and then 2003 or '03."
Giant 3 eh? let me hear you say AUM!!  Also on the left is a bright yellow 3, part of a date being shown superimposed on the picture.
(You mentioned you saw a date.)
The male and female I wonder if it's symbolism from a spiritual vibe
you picked up. But also, there is indeed a man on the left and a group of people on the right.
You were also right about the water, but wrong about the orange sky and sand and the sense of racing.

Pretty conclusive results again, but I notice that ones posted close to the time I set the target seem more likely to be relevant.

Sentential wanted a general reading that perhaps could shed light on some 'unresolved issues'.

For your significator I picked the page of swords, representing vigilence, but also analyzing a problem.

The general factors affecting your reading are represented by the 10 cups - a good card. It signifies contentment and joy.
It also represents your home town, and a possible end to hostilities.  When it appears with several trumps major
as it does here, it can represent a person who is taking care of your interests.

The obstacles are represented by the magician, perhaps signifying that a lack of skill or diplomacy will be an obstacle to
you.  It also reminds you that sometimes it is necessary to take action to overcome your obstacles.
As an Astral Pulse member I suppose I should also mention that it can indicate a person interested in occult matters.

The nine of swords reversed, shows the things you have to work with at the moment.  It's a card of doubt, reasonable fear,
worry.  I think this is really just confirmation that you are worrying about these 'unresolved issues'.
It also has connotations of imprisonment that connect it to the 10 wands which also appears -

Past influences are represented by 10 wands. This indicates oppression, or feeling heavily burdened.  Perhaps you have been
through a rough patch, or maybe over-extended yourself financially or otherwise.  One interpretation says:
"If followed by 9 of swords, it represents success stultified, or if it is a matter of a lawsuit it indicates certain loss".
I guess this would tie-in with the 10 cups as meaning someone taking care of your interests, as a lawyer perhaps.

The card of strength appears, reversed, in the 'crowns' position.  This indicates that you may find yourself in a situation
where you have power over someone, and the fact it is reversed reminds you not to abuse that power.
It can also mean that you will require patience.  Other readings say that strength reversed indicates you will find yourself
in a position of weakness, however I prefer the other interpretations.

The 7 of swords appears in the position of future influences.  This represents 'running away', perhaps avoiding your
responsibilities.  Also it may indicate a plan you have made that may fail.

Your current attitude is represented by 8 of pentacles, reversed.  This is a card of skill, employment, diligence, also
attention to detail.  Reversed it can also represent a voided ambition.

Your environment is represented by 4 of cups reversed.  This can represent weariness of a situation, or self-absorption.
Since it is reversed, some interpretors say it represents a change to this, i.e. something novel or new company.

Your hopes are represented by the moon.  This could indicate that you wish to perform some kind of minor deception,
perhaps tell a few 'white lies'.  But also, this card can represent the path to mysterious realms, and this may be your
desire to explore them.  It is the path between the towers shown in the card.  Perhaps it represents your hope for a way out.

The outcome is appropriately enough represented by the card of Judgement.  This could be your own judgement in the matter,
or more likely it is someone else passing judgement.

I think from the outset, with the 10 cups, the cards say there is a possibility of an 'end to hostilities', or an amicable
resolution to your issues.  You may have felt burdened in the past, and have current worries, but there is a warning that
if you start to come out on top don't abuse that position.  If you take the reversed strength card as a sign of finding
yourself in a weak position, you may find the temptation to run away or avoid your responsibilities.  But the final card
is judgement, and I suppose if you're going to be judged it would be best to behave in a way that does not leave you open
to someone finding fault with you.  There are connotations here of loss of a court case, but I suppose it could refer to
an impending judgement of a less formal kind.  I think the 10 of cups says you can avoid the hard road through this
situation through skill, diplomacy, self-confidence and taking appropriate action.

Lighthouse, glad that made sense to you, I must've picked the lucky pack!

Halfphased -

Interesting, maybe I was trying too hard to set you up with the queen of cups!
She appeared in the position of 'obstacles' and you say you fear a relationship would distract you from spiritual progress.
Without her, you still get the hermit, representing spiritual progress which is what you say is most important to you.
But the point is, someone special could be there as part of your life, but perhaps you choose to avoid this as you see it
as an obstacle.  This would mean the fool represents a new beginning of a different sort, maybe some element of your spiritual path.
No idea who the queen might be...

Could this mean that what I want to make my own is only out of my reach because I am being to harsh on myself?
Is the comment about cause and effect and karma to mean that my
efforts to make it my own are about to bear fruit? or is it to be taken independently of the statements before it?

I would say, in light of what you've said, it perhaps means that the spiritual advancement you desire will manifest without
you needing to impose an excessively harsh spiritual regime on yourself. (But what is excessive?)

Whoa, I feel like I am being swept along while reading this and not being able to grasp onto its meaning.  I do tend
to just get up and go places without looking over my shoulder... Is this statement to mean that any obstacles I encounter
will be unable to stand up to my ambitions and that I will be successful in my ambitions and end up at the desired
outcome?

I meant more that events, and your own personal traits, the factors in your environment, your hopes and desires and the
actions that you take because of them, together these form the path from cards 7 to 10, your present position to the outcome,
and they are all major arcana cards suggesting strong tendencies to direct you along this route.  Because it ends up pretty much where you want to go, with spiritual advancement, that's a good thing.
