Now seriously, you can program yourself for a meeting. When you go to bed have the intent of meeting him in the dream and eventually it will happen. You don't have to think how it's gonna happen, but just let it happen.

I've had interesting experiences looking for dead people in the dreams. Once I tried to find a person who lived in the XVII century and one night I had a dream in wich I was flying over the woods and at that time I knew it was my chance, it was happening.
I could feel this heavenly 'something' in the air. There were 2 nymphs floating next to a fountain and they took me to a spot of light in that forest. It was like a mirror suspended in mid air, but it had no refletion, just a light. There they told me to call for the person and the light would reply. I did as they said, and the light replied the person could not be reached. [:(]

I'm not sure you can find the real Elvis but you can always get across a look-alike [:D]

Welcome to Dreams! / I got stuck in a dream!

How is it going? I was kinda hesitating to reply but well he he.. I have this magic word that I use to keep things away, it may actually bring a wind to blow away anything that might be disturbing you within the dream. Feel free to give it a try, it is HADDABOOJI

This is no joke [:P] it may seem funny but it works, I also told this to a friend of mine who was having scary dreams and he actually blew away a legion of what he called low spirits.

When I started using it it was very weak magic, it would only like build up an invisible wall between me and the the 'enemy', but last time I had to use it it blew away a truck into the sky and then disappeared. It seems the more people use it the stronger it gets.

I believe you shouldn't worry about that. The worlds complement each other, you wouldn't want them to be the same. There is no such thing as fake, it is all reality in it's own way. Enjoy it. [:)]

Try to fly forward and then upward but not straight up. Go for the sky at the horizon, not that one immediatly above you, for some reason it seems easier.

Welcome to Dreams! / Some Stuff In My Mouth..
June 06, 2003, 18:00:59
Hey Nay, I can relate to what you are experiencing, I have the same thing happen to me sometimes. I'm in the dream and then there's this rubbery thing in my mouth and I try to pull it off but there's plenty of it and I get scared I would end up hurting myself by pulling my tongue out hehe.
I've come to the same conclusion, I was really thirsty when I woke up. Maybe we should drink more water during the day and before going to bed. It helps.

Flying is great, specially with someone by your side, I'm scared to go underwater in the astral hehe, manipulate energies (magic for fun and battles), change the sky (if it doesn't look good), go through walls, help dream characters, talk to them, watch tv (change the channels, turn up the volume), listen to the radio or cd (or whatever the music is coming from), try to talk on the phone, sing and play guitar, create things (insects, tools), change my view qualities (brightness, contrast), change my body, read anything, play videogames (both using a dream control pad or being inside the game), look in the mirror and/or go through it, meet people from other countries, meet indigenous people, wizards, unicorns...

If you happen to be projecting in real-time and try to open a window/door that window/door will probably open, and then you won't be in real-time anymore, the window will be a thought-form provided for your interaction, you would have slipped into the astral dimension. The astral body can't normally interact with the physical world, so when you wish to be IN a place where you can do things your mind will get you straight to a place of the same vibrational rate of your body.

Based on this there's something you can try:

Do not interact with things around you, behave as a ghost, know you're not there, you can't touch doors or windows. Your body there is just an illusion and you really don't want to touch anything, you barely wanna take a look around. Be as much apathetic as you can. It can be a good idea to forget you have hands.

I can't assure you it will work, it's just a theory.

I found I can't go through walls (like I do in lucid dreams) when I astral project. When I spin I just usually pass through the bed, hit the ground and 'materialize'. Once, incidentally, I wasn't able to grab the window knob, I wasn't even thinking about being in real-time, I just foolishly tried to open the window and my arm kept going through the glass and wood.
There are surely more things that govern the nature of the experience rather than just the intent.

There's one thing called the 'death of the Ego'. They say the Ego - desires, vanity, and all aspects of the personality in general make us see things differently than what they are, they keep us from seeing the real truth. To illustrate this there's this quote from the book Mental Body, by Arthur E. Powell that I will try to translate here:

Just like a placid lake reflects the moon and the stars, but when bristled by the passing breeze only shows broken reflexes, a person can, by calming his/her mind, soothing his/her desires, imposing quietness to his/her activities, reproduce inside himself/herself the image of the Superior. But if his/her own thoughts come, his/her own desires arise, he/she will only have broken reflexes, dancing lights, that nothing will reveal.

Hope it sounds good. In portuguese it is very nice hehe.

Very nice indeed hehe

They released him today because he's primary and jails are crowded, they won't keep people there for 'petty' stuff. Didn't have to pay a bail.

He attended Alcoholics Anonymous in the past months but unfortunately it wasn't much of help.

Ebele, I know what you mean, I think the same, they don't have enough motivation to stop.

I couldn't turn my back on him, but I know he is making his decisions and I don't support him on his actions. We're not 'going through hell' because of him, but it could get worse if we omit ourselves.

All your thoughts and concerns are truly appreciated.
#861
My brother has attended the Alcoholics Anonymous but he didn't change much. And I see that helping = feeding the addiction, it's a real problem.

He is not in jail anymore as they thought the incident wasn't of much importance. He was released today without having to pay a bail.

FlyByNight, sorry about your son, it's something that can actually affect anyone. Best wishes for you and him in this journey.

Thank you both for the concern and advices.

Thanks for sharing.

I used to try that in the past. I had a sheet of paper with 2 circles drawn about 6 inches apart from each other, one circle was empty and the other one had an X mark in it. I placed a plastic coin over the empty circle and I had to move it to the marked circle when I was out of body. I managed to get out many times and move the coin across the paper, but it never happened in the physical world.

The good thing is that when I was up for the experiment I was projecting 2-3 times everyday and I had no longer any doubts that I was really getting out of body even though I could never get the coin to move.

I believe it is possible to make it happen, but it would probably take alot of emotion, a very strong feeling about it and stuff wich is hard, cause the last thing you would want to try when out of body would be to move a plastic coin across a paper.

Think it's more of a phenomenon rather than an ability.

Thanks Kodemaster, hope they might want to take a look at it hehe.

ya, well yesterday i had a dream of snakes and worms, wouldn't know wich category it fits... a dream interpretation forum would be neat, it can be pretty dynamic cause i believe most people dream everyday. also it doesnt have to be only for dreams but symbology in general, archetypes, old languages and cultures and stuff. once i projected and read PREDOQUE on a sign, i had a hard time finding out what that mean. searching on the web i found just 1 website, it was about medieval literature, this is what was written:

Quas coluit Moises vetus aut nouus ipse Iohannes,
Hesternas leges vix colit ista dies.
Sic prius ecclesia bina virtute polita
Nunc magis inculta pallet vtraque via.
Pacificam Petri vaginam mucro resumens
  Horruit ad Cristi verba cruoris iter;
Nunc tamen assiduo gladium de sanguine tinctum
  Vibrat auaricia, lege tepente sacra.
Sic lupus est pastor, pater hostis mors miserator,
Predoque largitor, pax et in orbe timor. 3

3 The laws of yesterday that old Moses and new John -- that one -- cultivated, this day hardly keeps. Thus the church, formerly glittering with a double virtue and now instead disheveled, grows pale at either path. At the word of Christ the sword of Peter, regaining its peaceful sheath, abhorred the way of blood; now, however, with sacred law grown tepid, covetousness vigorously thrusts its blood-stained sword. Thus the wolf is the shepherd, the father the enemy, death the commiserator, the brigand the BENEFECTOR, and the peace on earth is fear.

This thing really impressed me, PREDOQUE... wow, a medieval text. At first i thought it was just a word made up by my imagination.

The trance state can be scary with all these surprises. What you can do is to stifle the fear with positive thinking. Say a honest prayer, surround yourself with good feelings, think of love, light, peace. Also avoid going to bed with a bloated stomach.

Damn, that thing happened to me quite a few times too! I don't know for sure why, maybe I was too anxious to go and explore outside... there are times I can't get to go anywhere, I find myself stuck in weird places and I can only fly around that limited space. Sometimes I have to go out through the window more than 3 times in a row as I find myself still in my room.

It seems that when we're crazy to do something there is always something else to keep us from going further. People who are crazy to go and fly may find someone holding their legs just after they start rising. Or when we're having a nightmare and want to run away from the danger as fast as possible our movements become slow. I guess it's best to be care-free.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Meditation
March 10, 2003, 15:21:32
Hmm, you don't necessarily have to be in deep trance to have an obe. Actually it would take longer to get out if you're too deep in it.

For me it is:

1 = Waking state
2 = Day dream type trance
3 = Trance for OBE's etc.
4 = Deep trance, where your mind has no knowledge of your body, like a void trance
5 = Enlightenment with 'God'

At level 3 I feel slight vibrations, the sounds from the physical plane get distorded, feeling like electricity is flowing through my body and stuff. If I open my physical eyes I may see the blanket rising, lights floating around, origamis hehe, multicoloured insects.

At level 4 I feel like I'm in a dark hall, sometimes there's a faint light at the center, and once I heard robot-like voices. I also feel vulnerable, as if something is gonna happen at anytime.

I was in trance today and I could hear a high pitched noise in the background, then I held my breath and the noise increased, but then I had to take a deep breath to compensate and it broke the trance.
I remained very still and the trance came back and I was able to project.

I would agree with Tom it's best to keep a constant breath rate, for me at least. Holding the breath was kinda tricky. I usually awake taking a deep breath.

Sometimes it is [:)]

I don't use that method to project, but after some hours of sleep I become more lucid in the dreams and notice the trance state more often. I can't actually sleep 10 hours straight, so I sleep and wake, sleep and wake, and when I wake I feel wether I can start a projection from there, or I start it in the dream, when it fades and gets all dark and I get in trance.

Today I dreamed I was in bed and I was staring at my face from outside I guess, then I decided to project and closed my eyes. Got back in trance and imagined some sparkling lights vibrating at my temples. When the vibrations started I closed my physical eyes tightly and began spinning, and then I was floating away from my bed. I stood in the middle of my bedroom and decided to use the mirror to get to my brother's house. I could see my reflex in the mirror but I thought if I entered it it would get me there somehow. It turned out it didn't, I got into the mirror and was still in my room, but still moving I made a curve downwards and saw a bed and a clock, but then I noticed I was back to my body staring at the floor.

Hey there, nice experiences!

Once during a lucid dream I was told how to pass through solid objects. You're meant to go through them making the sound 'tssssss', you know that sound you hear when you open a can of soda? Thats is, I've been using it so far with 100% success, it worked even when I thought it wasn't going to work.

I don't know if one could also go through solid objects mooing or barking, but if your intent is not enough to make it happen then I strongly suggest you use the 'tsss' thing.

Ah, you make the sound with your mouth! [:D]

When you fall asleep the sounds from the physical plane disappear.

I also had problems with noises here sleeping during the day. It used to bother me so much I was afraid I was going to be pulled back to my body because of them. I would even get in trance in the middle of the night and hear doors slamming, pop sounds, and I'd wake up indeed, just to find out there were no noises at all. My mind was tricking me.

I found I better use them instead of trying to block them all and thinking I could only sleep if it was all quiet.

Suggest yourself that you can easily fall asleep even when it's noisy. Use the noises as an indication, as you fall asleep they will begin to fade. Don't pay much attention, act like it is so boring that you just don't care anymore, receive them as an audible mass, don't try to perceive anything special. Use some cotton if it helps.

Hmm, I never thought of those strong trance sensations as a recipe for a remarkable obe, but now that you mention... when I get heavy vibrations I just pretend to be dead and they gently push me away from my body or get me straight into a lucid dream. As for the obes I haven't noticed much differences to their quality based on how I exit, there are usually things that don't match with the physical world and they increase as I go on exploring.

What I think is that it doesn't have to do with awareness but with vibrational rate. The theory says the planes are all permeating each other, each one on it's own vibrational rate. Matter is energy, and for our physical body is at the same vibrational rate of the world that surrounds us the energy seems solid, it is condensed. Once the astral body sets free from the physical it goes to the plane where it belongs, those planes that match with it's vibrational rate so that it can act.

I'm not sure it is possible to remain in the real-time zone without 'reality fluctuations' since it's not the natural place for our astral body to be.
When you saw people walking their dogs it could have had a relation with what was going on the physical plane at that time, but it has been shown to you in a symbolic way.

I wonder if someone could remain in real-time by being so apathetic to the surrounding envirnoment that the mind won't bother finding a place for that astral body to interact/play. Cause if you happen to be in real-time and try to open a window that window will open, and that will mean you're not in real time anymore, the window will be just a thought-form provided for your interaction, you'll have slipped to the astral dimension. I would appreciate if anyone could help elaborate some more on this. I think the nature of the projection depends basically on the person's mood at the time of the projection, how he's feeling spiritually and stuff, his actual rate of vibration/amount of specific energy, apathy/interest...
Well, just something worth trying.

The spinning gives me alot of clarity. When I'm out I can see and move very well as long as I don't rush the process. I must spin for as long as it takes and don't think of anything else, don't try to see, don't try to hear, just spin and wait for it to do the work. When I'm done I can say I'm neatly stabilized. I use the spin method during the trance state, and what I experience with the spin doesn't differ much from what I experience when I simply move my awareness away from the body. The main difference is that the spin gives me instant clarity and stability, on the other hand when I just move on I have to touch the things around me in order to gain sight and better tune in the dimension, but I don't see it going any further. Most of them seem to last a few minutes.

Im not very familiar with energy work, but as to what I've read the etheric energy is what keeps the non-physical being close to the physical. Mediums lend their etheric energy to spirits so that they can be materialized.
Robert Bruce even said: there are natural barriers to real-time projection, and that one of them is the amount of etheric matter generated and channelled to the astral body, it limits the duration of any real time projection to the degree of chakra development and control.

I believe those tests can raise your alertness and you really have to try to find out how they will work for for you. Your projections will surely get better, but eventually one or another will go bad, it will depend on your mood and ability to put into practice what you've learned.

#875
I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to achieve.

If you mean obe (real-time projection) I guess you'll have to be charged with etheric energy. They say that kind of energy is stored around the navel chakra, and when one leaves the body thinking it's dying it causes an amount of etheric matter to be channeled to the astral body. Maybe it is possible to have the same result by suggestion and indution.

If you mean projecting to higher planes you could go about projecting your astral body and then project your mental body from within the astral. Put your astral body aside in a comfortable position and elevate your thoughts. It's like meditating in the astral, but instead of just feeling the expanded awareness you'll go and leave your astral body behind.

I've used those techniques for lucid dreaming and they worked pretty well, but only in the dreams. They don't seem effective when I obe. But yes, if you start spinning in the dream and keep on spinning non-stop after everything goes black you'll find youself floating around the bedroom.
