I'm new to this site but Ive been interested in this kind of thing for years..Ive attempted having OBE's but never with any success however when i was younger (about 15) and before i knew very much about this i had a strange experience.
I had been out with some friends and they were eating 'space cakes' (food with cannabis in it), I had tried smoking cannabis once before but never had tried eating it which is known to produce more intense effects and hallucinations apparently. It took about an hour to kick in by which time i was at home alone..i got the typical giggles etc and i didn't have any full blown hallucinations but things seemed definatly different like sounds and sensations were just different.
I felt quite out of it so i went to lay down on my bed and i don't know how this begun..it wasn't a gradual onset i was just all of a sudden experiencing it ..i cant pinpoint how it started at all. There was a loud roaring sound i can describe closest as the sound of an approaching train (but as if you were right next to it) it wasn't an external sound it seemed to be inside my head/body and it was very intense it was like i was producing the sound...very hard to explain. Anyway it got louder and louder and increasingly intense but i wasn't afraid or thinking what the hell is happening it was like it was something normal i didn't even contemplate what the hell it was until after.
So during all these i start to hear this whispering as if something/someone was lying right next to me whispering in my ear. The thing they were saying was of great importance to me something i had to remember and they repeated the same thing over and over (after this all stopped i had no idea what it was i just knew it was the same thing repeated and important)....i wasn't afraid or alarmed by this presence either...nor was it pleasant it was just neutral to me like the roaring/vibration. I remember wanting desperately to turn and look at this thing lying next to me (i was on my back) but i couldn't move my head or body.
I don't even know how this ended or began i don't know how or when it suddenly stopped but it did and i went downstairs for a while and my mum came home and it wasn't until later that night until it actually hit me and I've been wondering about it ever since.
As i got more into reading up about OBE's and how certain drugs can trigger them (although not cannabis as far as I'm concerned) i wondered maybe the thing i ate could have been laced with someone else. So if anyone has any thought as to whether it was just an hallucination or something more id appreciate it
