Has anyone tried the SaltCube.com Video? does it work? I dont want to spend the money if this is just another gimmick

Many who OBE can do remote viewings which is that they float out of their body to look at a card someone put in another room or another building altogether. Books and paintings also have been used. if this is a REM thing then there is no way people can get it right from the OBE experience.

Astraveler is right - when you stare up into the open sky, day or night, or feel that breeze up the mountain, it is hard to believe that we are not part of something deeper and more eternal. you will find your way.

then how do we explain how dreams are sometimes made up of people that are so real but the situations are so unbelievably ridiculous?

are we generating our own universe in thoughts in our sleep?

funny you should mention that. when i first started reading about OBEs my first book was pitching a yarn about eckankar, too, so i was very curious about what and who they are.
 
I dont know if you read the Robert Monroe's stuff on his website, google "monroe institude". but it seems that OBE can happen on many planes of consciousness  - depending on the "frequency" that you can tune into. For example, they claim

higher energy planes - this is where the good stuff happens like god-like experiences and there apparently are many such planes with no causality
astral plane - that's subjective and within your conscious imagination, and where most astral projection happens for beginners
lucid dreaming  - well, we know what that is
physical plane - that ' s us right here   

some people have said 11 planes in total (if you kept up with physics that somehow coincides with the number of dimension we are supposed to have in our universe) but the new superstring theoris have said there are way more.

so i am sure ECKANKAR figured it out and is trying to milk some followers out of it.

hope this helps. when i read about it this cleared up alot of my misconception over the years about OBE. if you have had multiple experiences is it possible for you to describe if you can determine what "level" of OBE you were at for those events? is it even possible?

I HAVE HAD THE EYES FLUTTERING BUT NOT THE HEART RATE INCREASE. USUALLY THE FLUTTERING ENDS AFTER A FEW SECONDS, AND WHEN I FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN USUALLY THERE IS NO HEART OR EYE FLUTTERING.

I THINK IT IS UNIQUE FOR EVERYONE SO THERE IS NO FIXED WAY - LIKE THE EAR WHISTLING, MINE COMES FROM THE LEFT NOT THE RIGHT! HOW ODD....

I AM STILL VERY NEW TO THIS. I HAVE NOT HAD A SUCCESSFUL OBE EVEN THOUGH I AM CLOSE - STILL TO AFRAID WHEN THAT WHISTLING COMES.

BUT I WAS ON AN AIRPLANE THE OTHER DAY AND FELT THAT 3D SPACE IN THE MIND'S EYE AND WAS WONDERING WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I TRIED OBE ON A PLANE....
