Mandatory draft/military service for boys and girls (ages 18-26) starting
June 15, 2005, is something that everyone should know about. This literally
affects everyone since we all have or know children that will have to serve
if this bill passes.

There is pending legislation in the house and senate (companion bills: S89
and HR 163) which will time the program's initiation so the draft can begin
as early as spring, 2005, just after the 2004 presidential election. The
administration is quietly trying to get these bills passed now, while the
public's attention is on the elections, so our action on this is needed
immediately. Visit this site http://thomas.loc.gov/ , enter in "HR 163" and
click search to bring up the bill. It is less than two pages long.

If this bill passes, it will include all men and all women from ages 18 - 26
in a draft for military action. In addition, college will no longer be an
option for avoiding the draft; and an agreement signed with Canada will no
longer permit anyone attempting to dodge the draft to stay within it's
borders. This bill also includes the extension of military service for all
those that are currently active. If you go to the selective service web site
and read their 2004 FYI Goals you will see that the reason for this is to
increase the size of the military in case of terrorism. This is a critical
piece of legislation, this will effect our undergraduates, our children and
our grandchildren

The draft $28 million has been added to the 2004 selective service system
budget to prepare for a military draft that could start as early as June 15,
2005. Selective service must report to Bush on March 31, 2005 that the
system, which has lain dormant for
decades, is ready for activation. Please see www.sss.gov/perfplan_fy2004
html to view the Selective Service System annual performance plan, fiscal
year 2004.

The pentagon has quietly begun a public campaign to fill all 10,350 draft
board position s and 11,070 appeals board slots nationwide. Though this is
an unpopular election year topic, military experts and influential members
of congress are suggesting that if
Rumsfeld's prediction of a "long, hard slog" in Iraq and Afghanistan (and
permanent state of war on terrorism) proves accurate, the U.S. may have no
choice but to draft.
Please send this on to all the parents and teachers you know, and all the
aunts and uncles, grandparents, god-parents. And let your children know -
- it's their future, and they can be a powerful voice for change!

Please take the time to write your congressman and let them know how you
feel about this legislation.

I have two questions that have to do with the Astral Senses.

According to the sticky topic astral hearing is the noise one hears the easiest just before falling asleep and just after waking up.

I know this noise, I can hear it at any time I please.  I have a question about it though:Do you know that that is what hearing in the astral sounds like in personal experience?

I don't know, but I have a different idea of what that noise is, if not that (I guess it could be both..)  Could that noise be a direct attribute of what brain wave one is in?  I have noticed that the louder the noise is, the deeper I am.

For my other question:
If it really is astral hearing, and one is able to cultivate this astral sense, without projecting, what other astral senses can one train when not projecting?

"The five astral senses are:

Clairaudiance (astral hearing), Psychometry (astral touch/feeling), Clairvoyance (astral sight), Imagination (astral equivalent of taste), and Emotional Idealism (astral equivalent of smell)."

I gathered from the post that it would be beneficial to learn to be able to hear with one's "astral hearing" because it helps when one is actually projecting.  Well I already know how to use my "astral hearing," but that is only one of 5 astral senses, how can I train the other four when I am not projecting?

In other words, without projecting, how can I become accustomed to my astral senses without projecting so that I may improve them when not projecting?  When in my everyday life do my astral senses activate like my "astral hearing" does before I go to sleep and after I wake up?

Sorry if these questions have been asked, I tried using the search feature but it wouldn't work for some reason.

Thanks

I was hoping that whoever reads this post could put down some titles of books, or urls to articles/e-books of things that had a very profound effect on their spirituality.

I have a few I would like to share, all these books had a profound effect on me.

The Freedom of Choice:It was the first book that really got me thinking, I especially like the first half of the book, it gave me a very thought provoking view of God's origin.

Astral Dynamics:The book that got me the most interested in the metaphysical.

An Open Heart: Practicing Compassion in Everyday Life By The Dalai Lama:This book had an effect on me in that I knew I wanted to be a compassionate person, but I had trouble feeling compassion for people. It also sparked my interest in Buddhism.

The Power of Now By Eckhart Tolle:This book is probably the most profound book I have ever read, as the friend who recommended it to me said "it isn't anything you haven't heard before, but it supercedes everything." I read this book slowly, it took me about a month to complete it. I would read it, then meditate, and some days I would get an insight from what I had read that day, or the day before. I realized many things I may not have had it not been for this book.

Revolution in Common Sense or Quantum Metaphysic
http://www.quantum-metaphysics.com/essay.htm

This book was very enlightening for me. It worked off of what I learned from The Power of Now, and it gave things structure.

Fundamentals of the Faith
Essays in Christian Apologetics By Peter Kreeft

I don't identify myself as a Christian, but I still found this book very enlightening on Christianity. The part on the Our Father is great. For those of you who have know it you may want to read up on the prayer, I suggest going to your local bookstore or library and reading the section on the Our Father in this book. You will learn that every single word in this prayer has significance. Before I prayed it, it was just the same old words, now when I pray it I can't keep up with other people, because every word has significance. I think it is the best prayer there is, it's AWESOME!

Thresholds of the Mind By Bill Harris:It is like The Power Of Now, it is not as profound when you read it, but it does talk about the same thing (the watcher,) and is pretty insightful.

Again, these are the books that had the most profound affect on me, add some of your own.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Abortion Debate
May 15, 2004, 16:10:41
I am interested in your views on abortion.  It has been on my mind a lot lately.

Disclaimer:This is a very sensitive issue, I keep emotion out of it and I hope you do to because I think it gets in the way of a good debate.  Also, I don't have any ill will toward pro choice people, women who are thinking about getting an abortion or have already had one.

Here is my basic view.

I am pro life now because I think that the fetus is a human being with intrinsic value and therefore it shouldn't be killed. I also don't think that degree of preference or want justifies killing a baby.

If an experienced NEW user could draw pictures of all the areas in roberts training guide and show where the secondary centers are and show all the actions done.

Stirring:A circling arrow going around the specified secondary center.
Brushing:An up and down arrow on the specified secondary center.
Tearing:2 arrows pointing opposite ways on the specified secondary center.
Wrapping:Maybe a spiral arrow on the specified secondary center.
Sponging:Maybe a really wide/bold arrow going up.

First, I do all the exercises in the NEW online training guide starting with the toes and everything after that until it starts talking about bounce training (I don't do bounce yet.)

I am very very thorough when it comes to doing this.  It takes me 2 hours to do all of them.

My questions are:
1.Is it better to do all energy work at once or broken up into shorter sessions?

2.If it is better what is a good way to split up the sessions?

3.Is the wrapping action supposed to be done in the skin or on the skin?

4.What is the difference between etheric wrap and plain wrap?

5.Robert said (somwhere in the guide that this laborious work is done just in the beginning, how would one know when to stop doing it?

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / The Noise
March 21, 2004, 05:06:52
Whenever I meditate I there is a noise in my head, I have noticed that the deeper I get the louder it becomes.  It is a high pitched noise.  *I don't hear it with my ears*

I added that because I know that there is a similar ringing noise I would get that would come from my right ear.  It is not that.  I get that noise whenever I turn the tv on and it is on mute.  It comes from electrical stuff.

The noise I am speaking of comes from within.

If anyone knows of any literature on this, or has any knowledge on it I would appreciate it a lot if you would share it.

Thanks

Just felt like sharing what happened yesterday in school.

I was trying to read the article on re-incarnation by Robert Bruce yesterday in school when I was suddenly told to get off the computer.  The librarian asked what I was reading and I told her.  She said that because it isn't "official" that I couldn't read it.  She said that anyone who could write anything, which I agreed with, but then I tried telling her how RB is respected in the field but to no avail.

I go to a catholic highschool and maybe that was why this happened.  This happened after school yesterday when no one was around.

Has this ever happened to you?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Explain this
November 10, 2003, 14:10:44
I was outside the other day raking and it was daytime.  It was cold so I was wearing my scarf.  I decided to take a rest and I sat down on the ground.  I wrapped my polar fleece scarf (multicolored) over my face.  The red part was over my eyes.  The light was hitting my back.  The thing that I can't explain (for sure) is this:

Through the red part of my scarf I was looking at everything around me.  The thing that is weird is that everything was green.  I held my hand up to my face and it illuminated the space in front of me and was colored green/aquamarine/blue.  I looked at my water and it was the same, but a little more flashy with the reflections.  I looked at my neighbors house, and a green aura (or something just like an aura) was surrounding the top of it.

The Longest Journey

It is just pointing and clicking and reading a lot of dialogue.  But it is really great.  It has been a couple years since I played it but the characters still feel like people I have met and connected with.

I was just replying to another topic in another forum, and out of the blue a siren sound came from my speakers.  It was very very loud.  Scared me to death, and my ears still hurt.  At first it was so loud I was trying to find out where it came from.  THen I found out it was coming from my computer/speakers.  I unplugged everything, and it was still ringing.  But the noise was coming out of my speakers.  This loud siren like noise, where even with my ears plugged it was loud as heck.

This went on for 10 minutes, while my dad and I were unplugging everything in the room, with no effect on the noise.  Noise was coming from my speakers under these circumstances:Speakers unplugged from cpu, cpu unplugged from wall, everything on my power strip unplugged, my powerstrip turned off.

Can someone explain this?

Here is my first post:

I thought you made a good point in the book Tom. I however wear a crucifix every day around my neck. I am not christian, in fact I am not any religion. Many people would ask me why I would wear such a symbol then.

I wear the symbol because I admire the sacrifice Jesus made, dying for the sins of others. Even though I am not sure about whether or not his sacrifice made a difference, I still admire the sacrifice he made. He died for something he believed in, and that is commendable. [Michael].

Here is what they said in response:

Do you remember WHO told you that Jesus died for "sins of others"? Have you checked their MOTIVES? Have you checked what ELSE they do and say? Aren't they the same people who molest children and get away with it?

Imagine a school in which those who bimbo around get promoted and those who advance their consciousness get ridiculed, punished, tortured and killed. Would you like to go to a school like this? Would you send your children there? Do you think the Universe was created to make and reward lots of idiots?

By blindly believing in "dying for someone else's sins" interpretation you actually insult GI by implying that it is an idiot who has no idea what is going on in the Universe...

Have you forgotten that Jesus CAME BACK TO LIFE and hence demonstrated the immortality of consciousness? You have eyes, but can you see? [Tom]

Michael, it`s like saying , Jesus `came up` to God and said, you are going to punish them, why don`t you punish me instead! and God says, well yeah, I `need` to punish someone anyway! so there you go, Crucify!!

People! stop being idiots and start thinking for yourselves!

Sorry Tom but I am just running out of patience with some of these people who claim they have `read` your book. [Shah]
Tom, I had never thought of this saying the way you had put it, that is a superb piece of reasoning about the motives of the GI. I always thought that this quote meant he died because human beings were so sinful (`going against the purpose of the universe`)and that is why they killed him. Interestingly, this quote is used to offer "salvation" to flocks of followers, under the banner that you can do anything you want once you are saved. They argue that because Jesus died for our sins, all people need to do is to accept this sacrifice, `believe it`, and from that point on, all is forgiven and all sin is washed away and you theen have a place in heaven. Apparently, according to the logic of the church, he not only died for the sins of those at that time, but apparently for all of humanities sins that will occur in the future as well(we all receive the bonus from his death for some reason). Clearly, his death and `sacrifice` extend beyond the point of death to now, yet how is this statement possible when he clearly reincarnated `was resurrected` a short period of time after he was crucified??? [pauld].
This is not the only problem with the church doctrine. Jesus never EVER talked about anyone going to "heaven" to begin with. So-called "paradise" is a 100% church fabricated concept, developed to fool people and collect their property.

There is a man in Sweden, who offers an award to anyone who can prove that Jesus promised anyone to go to paradise. He distributed leaflets at church services. As a result - the Pope admitted that "there may not be any paradise"...

Amazingly, people continue to "believe" in the church deceit. There must be no limit to how stupid one can become... [Tom]

And this is what wouldn't show up on the forum when I tried to reply.

First, both of you should learn two words, tact and courtesy.  I come here because I think I will find understanding people, but instead I get people who ridicule me.

"Do you remember WHO told you that Jesus died for "sins of others"? Have you checked their MOTIVES? Have you checked what ELSE they do and say? Aren't they the same people who molest children and get away with it?"

A few things:

1.Actually my elementary theology teacher taught me that, and she didnt molest any children.  I don't think she had any bad motives.

2.That is like saying the field of biology is bad because your teacher couldn't teach it well, or was a jerk.  You have eyes, but do you see?

3.Lets go back to Jesus' time and consider why the disciples would tell people that Jesus died for other people's sins/to forgive their sins.  What did they get out of it?
This is what they got:Their friends and families scorned them.  Their social standing, possessions, and political privileges were stolen from them by both Jews and Romans.  They were persecuted, imprisoned, whipped, tortured, exiled, crucified, eaten by lions, and cut to pieces by gladiators.  To say that they just told people that so they could get power is preposterous.  If it was a hoax, then they didn't get anything good out of it.
You have eyes but do you see?

This year I have been lucky enough to get a GOOD theology teacher.  I know that Christianity teaches that Jesus died to forgive our sins, which shows that he is a god, because only god can forgive someone for another's sins.

"Imagine a school in which those who bimbo around get promoted and those who advance their consciousness get ridiculed, punished, tortured and killed. Would you like to go to a school like this? Would you send your children there?"

I don't know of a school like this in real life, and obviously no, I would not go to this school if it existed and no, I would not send my kids there.

"Do you think the Universe was created to make and reward lots of idiots?"
Well I never implied that, but to answer your question no.  According to your book he created the universe to impress us and show himself to us, and hopefully have us choose to love him. (Yes, I have read the book Shah, more then once)
(BTW I don't think God is male, I just find it easier to create my sentences using he.)

"By blindly believing in "dying for someone else's sins" interpretation you actually insult GI by implying that it is an idiot who has no idea what is going on in the Universe..."

For someone who puts up links to the Thiaoouba Prophecy you would think that they would have read/believe the book.  According to it the Thiaooubans sent Jesus, maybe you should go back and read the book again.

"Michael, it`s like saying , Jesus `came up` to God and said, you are going to punish them, why don`t you punish me instead! and God says, well yeah, I `need` to punish someone anyway! so there you go, Crucify!!"

If you think that Christians think that, then you really need to read some, because that statement is very distorted.  The point of the crucifixion was to forgive our sins.  Usually, only the person who is wronged can forgive, but there is an exception, that is Jesus.  Only he/God has the power to forgive the sins of others, which is what Christians believe.

They don't believe that the reason Jesus was crucified because God wanted someone to punish.  Ask any educated Christian/theologian.

"There is a man in Sweden, who offers an award to anyone who can prove that Jesus promised anyone to go to paradise. He distributed leaflets at church services. As a result - the Pope admitted that "there may not be any paradise"..."

What man?  Where did you read this?  Where did you get that quote from?

"Amazingly, people continue to "believe" in the church deceit. There must be no limit to how stupid one can become... [Tom]"

Thats nice Tom, insult me some more.  I am trying to "advance my conciousness" as you put it, and in response I am ridiculed.  Even if I learn the wrong facts, atleast I am trying to get it right.  How is it that I am stupid for being taught the wrong things?  Let me answer that, I am not stupid.  You may have more success if you responded to people without putting them down if their views are contrary to yours.  I don't know why I have to tell you this, you should know it by now.

Tact and courtesy.  If any of you want people to listen, lay off the insults and learn to communicate without exhalting yourself.

Finally, remember this.
I came here with no threats and no insults.  I didn't try to provoke you, but still I was teamed up on and put down.  Who does this sound like to you?  The very people you despise?

I am done for now, I await your response.

And that is the end of my reply to them.

What do you think of this?  I used to think Tom was a really good person, but when I go to his forum to see what he thinks I get this in response.

Anyone have any suggestions?  I am looking for techno type music.  I am not really into Enya, if that helps.

One song I like, and wouldn't mind having more similar to it is Dub in Ya Mind on the cafe del mar cd.

I suppose the type of music that makes you think of a beach or paradise of some sort, or having some wine at sunset with someone you love.

The last sentence of this quote troubled me, if you read the whole book and remember what Thao said before, then in the last sentence either Thao is lying, or Michel is making a mistake (I hope the latter is the case).

Look at this
Page 134 Thiaoouba Prophecy
'It is easy to see the lack of precision in this passage, where the scribe begins by speaking of two angels, then speaks of two men, and then describes two men striking people blind. According to the Bible, such a 'miracle' requires at least an angel! There my dear, is another good example of confusion in Earthly scripts. The 'men' were quite simply our men from Thiaoouba.

Remember this so many pages ago?
Atomic destruction Page 27
Once settled comfortably in a kind of armchair with Thao facing me, I watched, as her face became serious again. She started to speak.
'Michel, there are no women aboard this spacecraft...'
If she had told me that I wasn't on a spaceship but rather, in the Australian desert, I would have more readily believed her. Seeing the expression of disbelief on my face, she added, 'neither are there any men.' At this, my confusion was absolute.
'But,' I faltered, 'you are - what? Just robots?'
'No, I think you misunderstand. In a word, Michel, we are hermaphrodites. You know, of course, what an hermaphrodite is?'
I nodded, quite dumbfounded, and then asked, 'Is your whole planet inhabited only by hermaphrodites?'
'Yes.'
'And yet your face and mannerisms are more feminine than masculine.'
'Indeed, it might appear so, but believe me when I tell you that we are not women, but hermaphrodites. Our race has always been this way.'
'I must confess, this is all very confusing. I'm going to find it difficult to think of you as 'he' rather than the 'she' I have done since I've been among you.'
'You have nothing to imagine, my dear. We are simply what we are: human beings from another planet living in a world different from yours. I can understand you would like to define us as one sex or the other, for you think as an Earthling and a Frenchman. Perhaps, for once, you could make use of the neuter gender of English and think of us as 'it'.'

Disclaimer:I am not trying to knock this book, see I read it, and it is a great book, with a great message, and lots of wisdom, but when reading something so enlightening and finding an error like that it makes me think.  Regardless, I still look at this book as a great piece of information/wisdom.  I just wanted to point this out to you to see what you thought about it.

Welcome to Healing discussions! / How To Fight Hate
September 05, 2003, 19:31:09
Disclaimer:This is something I wrote for myself a year ago.  I was feeling blue and I meditated on the reason people say the things they do sometimes.  It has helped me, and maybe it will help you.  It puts things in perspective.

How To Fight Hate

Whenever you are hurt by something that someone says or does to you, you mustn't fight with hate.  In fact, you mustn't fight at all.  Fighting creates impurities in the heart, which could in turn make your heart bad.  Horrible things in history have happened because people were fueled by hate and made evil decisions.  When you are wronged you shouldn't answer with physical violence, or even hateful words because it will make you impure.  And when you have an impure heart you can't be truly happy.  You shouldn't fight someone's hate against you even in your mind with hate.  Even if what you say could be half-true, or fully true, you shouldn't.  In your heart and mind you are devaluing them.  Remember that above all else, they are human beings too, with worth you will never know.  You will be a better person yourself by not fighting hate with hate.  Do not put yourself above others, because that would also be something bad. Remember, even if fighting hate with hate quenches your hearts despair, it is not right, because you will never be fully true to yourself, you will always use hate to justify yourself, which will turn you away from happiness.  You could say that you are further on the path to true happiness then others though.

Since we can't fight hate with hate, what should we do?  First, actually try to think of why someone would do or say such a thing.  Don't use reasoning such as "he/she is an moron".  That is not the true reason, because I don't believe that anyone at the core is an moron.  Maybe they were having a bad day.  Maybe they have to resort to hate to feel better about themselves.  You have to truly try and make the connection in your mind of why they would say such a thing.  You could say that you have to detach yourself to make sense of what they do.  It could hurt your feelings, but try to not let that affect you just yet.  Maybe in their minds they devalue someone for a certain thing, so they don't care if they are mean to you or not.  They could be thinking that you aren't good looking, or smart.  But why would someone try to devalue someone else?  Remember that they do this because they have to make themselves feel better by doing it.  They are incomplete in some area of their life, so they have to make up for it in some way.  Maybe they have to bring you down to their happiness level to make themselves feel better. Maybe in their minds you are on your high horse of happiness, and they are jealous.  Finally it may be a shortcoming that you have (we all have them) that they see in themselves.  It is a lot easier to be angry at someone else then yourself.  Invariably it is one of these maybe reasons I have written down, or a combination of them.  Don't let it hurt you, just think about this line, don't just say it, actually try to believe it, not because I said so, but because its true.  "I don't need to make others feel bad to fill a gap in my heart, I am further on the road to true happiness because I am complete enough in heart, that I don't need to pull others down to me.  I will not fight hateful words/actions/thoughts with hateful words/actions/thoughts.  This will make my heart impure, and put more distance between myself and true happiness.  I do not exalt myself from other people just because I am happier, I actually am a person with a pure heart, or purer than the person who is hurting me.  And for that I should be happy, not mad."

So what do you do about the person who has wronged you?  It depends on the person.  Some people will simply not listen to you at all, even if you are speaking from the heart.  If you believe they will actually listen to you, and not ridicule you, then you should speak to them, and try to tell them how you feel, and that you hope they would stop what they are doing.  The people who will actually still listen to you after being mean to you are few.  So what to do about the others, who will not listen to you, and exalt themselves before you in their actions/words/thoughts?  You should simply ignore them, and remember those lines from the previous paragraph.  If they are regularly mean to you, then you should tell them to stop, and if not you will be well served by telling someone with authority above him/her.  Remember, the worst they could do is keep trying to pull you down, but if you tell someone who has authority there is a chance that they will stop.

I was reading some methods on how to achieve mind awake and body asleep, I am not sure if I am doing this right but I am achieving that end.  All I do is stay completely still with my mind blank and after a while my body just falls asleep on its own, from not moving at all.  Is this method OK?  It isn't very scientific but my body falls asleep.

The most annoying thing for me when trying to do anything related to energy/AP/meditating/anyting else related is getting an itch.  It sounds like nothing, I know.  But sometimes when I am trying to AP I can be in the perfect mindset but then I have that itch, I go for 5 minutes not scratching, the itch still annoying me, and I hope it will go away.  Then after a minute or two I scratch it, and have to start all over again because I moved around.

Does that trouble anyone else?

I have seen and read all the various posts on meditation cd's and there are a variety of cd's to choose from.  I have never used any before because I was afraid that they would turn into a crutch I would depend on, but after reading about them that doesn't seem to be the case.  I am making this post because with all I have read I am not sure what cd to buy.

To get into specifics, I want the cd to not have any people talking on it because it takes me out of the zone.  My main goal is to have an oobe, but I know a cd probably won't get me there, but it may be a good start, or atleast get me into a more relaxed state, because I am the kind of person who finds music very soothing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is it bad to do it for too long?  I am still trying to feel energy by focusing my awareness on parts of my body.  I could probably sit and do it for a long time, but I don't want to do something that would hinder my growth or possibly hurt me.
