Namaste,
I obtained a copy of an audio book called 'Tibetan Dream Yoga' by Lama Surya Das.  In this book he teaches the art of conscious dreaming and gives the technique(s) used by Tibetan Yogis and Yoginis for the last 1200 years to achieve this end. Here is a link to his site... http://www.dzogchen.org/

The posture for the practice is sleeping on the right side for men, and on the left side for women with the right or or left hand positioned under the cheek. This position the historical Buddha died in when he passed into Nirvana. Here is the mantra or affirmation that is given to be repeated before sleep. It is a translation of the Tibetan version:

May I awaken within this dream,
And grasp the fact that I am dreaming?
So that all dream-like beings may also awaken,
From the nightmare of illusiary suffering and confusion.

Also there is a morning practice which consists of saying 'AAaaahhhhhhhhh' apon awakening then sitting up, saying 'AAaaaahhhhhhh' again, then stretching like a big cat and saying 'AAaaaaahhhhhhh' a third time. This is a practice of energy raising.
I reccomend that anyone interested should look into this further and also look into the wealth of spiritual teachings offered by the Tibetan Buddhist community[:)]

Namaste,
In my oppinion mysticweb has all the trademarks of a delusional cult!  They attract new members through their free astral projection course, people who perhaps stumble across their organisation like I did by searching 'astral projection' on google and then, slowly but surely they attempt to indoctrinate you with their conditioning teachings as the course/course they offer go on.
For instance, they use many attempts to create a fear and a dependancy towards their organisation(through fear of an inescapable hell, and the existence of satan) while trying to discourage your dependancy on other forms of study(by calling their wisdom false) and even to solely concentrate on their material alone, a very suspicius approach.
In books given on their courses they have stated that to leave 'their' path and stop 'their' practices is to walk on the dark path of evil, and to betray a 'master' (such as they claim Samael and Mark Pritchard to be) is to be eternally damned and never forgiven.
They also delete any posts that may poke holes in their teachings or that attempt to open peoples eyes, denying your experience. They also actively discourage you to study authors whom I know to un-mask the kind of lies and conditioning that they perpetuate, saying that these authors are not 'masters' and do not know the 'truth' as only they seem to!
What really clinched it for me was that they stated irrefutably that all true masters had walked the path that they taught and when I suggested that the Buddha did not and many enlightened Buddhists and Masters from other spiritual traditions did not and would perhaps find their approach insulting or even laughable, and I enquired as to where their information or authority on all things spiritual came from?
They promptly deleted my post and sent me a very aggressive email saying that I had 'breached their terms and aggreements' and that if I did so again I would be banned from their forums and their courses. (I decided to keep quiet and see what else they would try and throw at me before I never returned)
Some of the moderators have seemed very pleasant people(the newer ones though[:)]), and I am saddened that alot of the 'pupils' on the courses seemed only too happy to devote their full attention to 'Master Beelzebub' and the incredibly contradictory teachings of Samael Aun Weor.
They have carefully selected the books of Samael's that they give on the online courses as the mistakes and errors in what he tried to teach in various other of his books are only too apparrent.
Be aware of their conditioning and fear based approach to spirituality and the fantastic promises they offer you as a result of your devotion to them, I could go on and on about my suspicions dislikes about them and what they are up to but all I will say is this:
Be aware, and be careful!

Hi,
I was meditating earlier and 'saw' a clear image of a body(mine possibly) lying on it's back with it's legs together and the hands and arms at a slight angle to the body(about 3 inches). Roughly the most commonly taught astral projection position.  The difference here was that in this mental projection there were crystals positioned on key chakras as follows:

Ajna(Brow Chakra):Unpolished Quartz point, with point facing up.

Anahata(Heart Chakra):Unpolished Quartz point, with point facing up.

Both hand Chakras:A piece of polished Rose Quartz.

I have yet to have a conscious astral projection and I haven't tried this before. I intend to try it later this evening.  I have experienced all the pre-split sensations whilst meditating holding Rose Quartz in my left hand and also while cupped in both hands.  I have also tried the above position(lying down) with Rose Quartz in both hands which has brought on pre-split sensations very quickly, yet I lost consciousness and fell asleep.  Perhaps the Quartz crystals will make the difference.
For those who do not know, the Quartz should act as an enhancer on the Brow and Heart Chakras, while the Rose Quartz in the hands should activate the palm Chakras and act as a calming influence, aiding concentration and quieting the mind.
I will keep you posted and let me know if you have any success!

Hi,
'The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight' is a truely great book about the world changes that are taking place and what you can do to help.  It also delves into metaphysics, ancient cultures and even how we are all made of exploded stars!![8D] It contains a wealth of knowledge and wisdom and is a very easy to read(if disturbing in it's lucidity sometimes).

Hi,
I found these selected quotes from a book called 'Initiation' written by Elisabeth Haich. It is a very clear and easy to understand explanation of sacred geometry and is well worth your time!

The whole book is truely excellent if you can find a copy

Namaste all and thanks for the replies[:)],
I honestly don't think I have said anything too slanderous, every thing I have said is observably true. I actually do think that THEY should be investigated by the authorities in regards their 'organisation' and what they are supposed to be offering.  Or pehaps we could drop a line to some Fundamentalist Christian forum about what they are teaching and see what happens![:D] Actually that may not be a good idea as they may join forces[:O]
What someone said above is very true, the astral is influenced by our thoughts, emotions, and mental conditioning so if you are very invested in the teachings of mysticweb and you then learn to astral project as a result of their courses and see a 'projection' of what they have said you would see then the odds are you will think that what they are teaching is the 'truth'.
Alternatively if you keep an open mind an know that you cannot be harmed in the astral and that everything is illusionary in nature. You can subdue your fear you will not attract the fear based entities in the first place, whose main purpose seems to be to scare the wits out of you, make you lose your concentration and end your practice.

Namaste,
I became aware of the courses on mysticweb through doing a search on google, I was curious so I signed up for their astral projection course. I then went on to take part in their follow-up courses entitled 'searching within' and 'The journey to Enlightenment'.
I found some of the exercises to be quite useful but I was also suspicious of them as they seem very intent on teaching the reality of negative spirits, an inescapable hell, and that 'their' path as the ONLY true path that there is. They also have a habit of censoring posts that point out these contradictions on their forums.
In one of the weeks topics entitled 'the afterlife' they gave out an e-book, entitled 'yes there is a hell, yes there is a devil, and yes there is karma'
At this stage I went back and re-read Conversations with God book 3, an excellent book by Neale Donald Walch. I was astounded at how much the mysticweb site had tried condition my mind through my simple curiousity to learn how to lucid dream/astral project.
They seem to teach mainly a fear based theology. They made a sweeping statement that we only get 108 chances(reincarnations) to attain enlightenment and then we de-evolve to the lowest forms of life.
They also try to get you to stop all other forms of study and only concentrate on their teachings and warn of dependancy on various things whilst actually encouraging you to be dependant on them for 'a roadmap to heaven' and alchemical techniques. Also they have stated that only those who have removed 50% of their ego may be saved and other such madness.
As you may have guessed I remain unimpressed at their conditioning and fear based approach to enlightenment.
Please be careful!

heh,
Tried this method out last night had some sensations from the crystals, especially in the brow chakra, didn't manage to project though, just drifted of to sleep[:(].
Did have some seriously lucid dreams of being on a journey with some beautiful women in a bus, then I was with the two I was talking with in a car, then we took a wrong turn and ended up going the wrong way in a demolition derby race.[8D]

Hi,
Yes it is a really great book, I avoided it for years for whatever reason and picked it up in a second hand bookshop. I started to read it one night and couldn't stop until I'd finished.[:)]

Welcome to Book Reviews! / T Lobsang Rampa
January 28, 2004, 20:30:43
Hi,
In reply to the first post, I 'discovered' Lobsang Rampa's books by 'accident' in a very small bookshop in Belfast.  The first book I read was 'Beyond the Tenth' and it is basically not fictional and mainly he discuss's astral projection, as well as diet, enemas', lost civilisations and many wonderful subjects[:D].  I have him to thank for re-inspiring me towards this area of study(astral projection) and since almost all his books where in the shop, I went back and bought 'Doctor from Lsasa', 'The Safron Robe', 'The Rampa Story', and 'Living with the Llama'(which is actually his siamese cat Mrs Fifi Greywhiskers telepathically dictated life story[:D]).
Before this I had read and have studied various books on Tibetan Buddhism and can say that all that he says is thoroughly supported in various doctrines such as 'Tibetan Yoga' translated by E.W.Wentz which is actually seven books on various meditation and yogic practices and has an entire book dedicated to consciouness transferance along with historical references to it's use.  The same practice is even mentioned briefly in 'Transform Your Life' by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and this would be a quite a straight forward, popular, and modern work.
The people that apparently 'proved' that Lobsang was a fraud were a English organisation researching Tibetan history whose only 'proof' that he was not who he said he was asking the present Dalai Llama if he 'knew' him, to which he answered 'I do not recall a monk of that name'.  Lobsang even stated in his books that he had to choose a name that suited his and the body which he was to inhabit' harmonic vibration and it more than likely wasn't his original Tibetan name.  Also, I doubt that some guy who had an obvious disliking of Lobsang coming up to the Dalai Llama and demanding proof from beyond the grave(as he had supposedly known Lobsang only in his past incarnation)would achieve very positive results.[;)]
I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed all of his books that I have had the pleasure to read and I am always on the look out for his others.  Apart from being a very wise and knowledgable soul, he was very good humoured and a great story teller.
