So i'm very interested in being able to project out of my body and experience an OBE and so i began my journey last night with a failed attempt. I definitely think the experience helped me since after reading much about it I actually got to experience some of the earlier stages before exiting. I experienced hypnic jerks and went deep into several trance like states (assisted through binaural beats), but couldn't quite move into that higher state of awareness needed to accomplish an OBE. I have practiced meditation so i choose to use some meditation techniques to relax my body and mind (clearing mind through focus on awarness/nothing). My question is, when i get into that deep trance like state it feels as if my mind is falling asleep but not sure if that is me beginning to move to a higher "awareness/plane" or if my mind is actually dosing off. When this happened I try to bring my awareness back to the present, if you will, and  I was stuck in this cycle for about 50 minutes with no success. So my question is, whether I go with that feeling of deep trance like progression which feels like I'm going to fall asleep, or do I TRY to maintain that awareness I began the "session" with. I am very excited about being able to successfully accomplish an OBE, and after reading around this forum it makes me even more excited reading about all your different experiences. Any help would be great and I want to wish you all happy and peaceful projections and experiences.
