Ok here's one for ya guys...

So I have gotten pretty proficient with my little awareness energy ball and I can throw it to all different parts of my body at a whim and stimulate different chakras with it and whatnot.  All via NEW techniques btw.

Here's my question:  Every once in a while when i put my awareness ball out side of my body and start moving it around all the sudden it feels like it has gotten grabbed and is getting pulled away from me and I get into a tug-of-war and I always invariably lose.  After it gets pulled from me I just lay there feeling way empty and my trance meditation has completely lost its feel.

I guess the logical thing to assume based upon Bruce's theorys is that I have created a double and I am running away from my self and tug-o-waring with myself.  What bugs me is that I have never gotten any secondary shadow visuals and apparently never like to return to me... or something LOL

Sooooo anyone else have similar experiences?  If its not the boogey man grabbing my essence every chance he gets.... then how do i better transfer my full awareness and/or program myself not to run away and fight...me.  I have tried to give myself the firm intention b4 hand not to run but it doesn't seem to do any good.

peeeeeeeeez help
thankyou!

Welcome to Dreams! / Spinning in a dream???
August 12, 2002, 23:15:47
Last night i had an LD  that didn't seem to make but sense but b4 i went to sleep i went with the intent of having an LD and trying out the spinning technique to extend my dream.

So anyways my LD starts and i do whatever for like 15-20 mins and then started to lose it and feel my body again so I did a spin.  Anyways like 4 spins later I still have my dream going but in retrospect it seems that everytime i did a spin i lost some awareness or consciousness???  So it was like it was still me and i still knew i was dreaming but it was less and less of me everytime or something like that....  It also seemed like i lost my flying ability and general will also.

Anyways by the last time i was just a fragment of me literally stuck in the dream world and not knowing what to do and not being able to think clearly.  It ended up being quite frightening.

Has anyone else had similar experiences from spinning and/or have any theories about it?  Was it due to a continuous energy loss or just gradually shaving off my consciousness.... and does twirling around always do this?

Either way I would suggest that people be careful w/ their spins!  :)

Hey I was wondering if you had any opinions or knowledge about how mormon missionarys are suppose to stay out of the water.  I have always thought this was interesting and the most my LDS friends know is that it is considered evil and missionarys are expecially susceptable or something along those lines, but they don't know the why or the how.

My curiosity was further sparked by Bruce's assertion that running water is one of the most effective ways of keeping negs away.

You seem to be fairly knowledgable about doctrine and what not so could you (or anyone else)  maybe shed any light on this for me?

thanks

sorry if this is the wrong forum.

I wholeheartedly agree with blackstream about everyone being able to read the posts.

Most large forums invariably have to be regulated to allow any sort of 'work' to be accomplished.  Imagine if every citizen with an opinion or personal question had an open mic in congress or in the senate.  It just wouldn't work as effectively.

Approximately two years ago I joined this board, I was an avid reader, and would post very rarely.  I felt a part of the community and very much enjoyed the astral pulse.  As of late, I have almost completely stopped even visiting.  I used to enjoy the intelligent and thoughtful posts.  It was very sad to see one of my favorite thought provoking romping grounds develop into its current state.  It got to the point that it just wasn't worth it to sift through the massive amount of posts to find the occasional gems, when it seemed that they were all gems in the past.

Another problem with the current setup is that as a community the discussions develop and make a progression of there own.  People develop with the discussions.  If the community becomes too large, you just cover the same ground over and over again, without any real progression.  That is where subgroups are needed and that is what is being proposed.

***I think it would be a great idea if all were able to read the posts but only members were able to do the actual posting.  Therefore all would have access to the more mature area, and not feel left out, but the clutter would be greatly reduced.***

I might not have as much clout as others because of a minimal amount of posting but I have been around for a while (30 July 2002) and have read many many posts.  I was driven away by the problem you are attempting to resolve, so hopefully it happpens.

Doing this by a strictly democratic vote might not be the answer either because there are going to be far fewer gems.

Another possibility could be a folder in the members area that newbs could have access to and would show up to the members.  So anytime they felt like doing some community service they could field those questions.

I miss the community - pls help.

Welcome to Dreams! / NOVA DREAMER

Well, you can set the delay out as long as you want.  If it takes you four hours to fall asleep then you just have to hit the button enough times.  The lights should blink inside the mask each time you hit the button.  The circuit board does seem unprotected I suppose, but any additional covering would just add to it's bulkiness.  I have been happy with mine.  It did seem a little expensive for what it was, but when it works, it is well worth it to me.

As far as pulling you out of your experience, you see the lights flash from within, you don't get pulled out.

Yes I have had some with it.  I don't think it will happen though until you are having some pretty vivid dreams without it.  Definitely not the magical key, but it helps greatly.  I have been happy with it.  No, I didn't really follow the book, just learned the basic settings and strapped it on.  Its not very complicated.  Maybe follow the book or some other step by step program to get your dreaming level up though?  I had already been preacticing a great deal before I got the Nova.

You need to click the reality check button on the front for the amount of 10 minute increments you would like it to be not active for.  So once you put it on if you click the front four times, it won't be active for forty minutes.  The reality check button is useful once you become lucid as well.  If you find yourself woken by the lights reach up and click the button before you decide to go back to sleep, if nothing happens when you hit the button then you are dreaming still.  Happens often.

good luck

Welcome to Astral Chat! / The 11:11 effect
June 27, 2003, 19:54:25
I took it to mean that there is a version of me or something that is all seeing (outside of just my eyeballs) and is able to direct me and que me... or i can direct this self from a higher level.  There seem to be some pretty profound and direct implications to be had from experienceing this phenomenon.

There is actually something that I think resembles a cult which is entirely dedicated to the 11:11 phenomenon.  I can't remember the web page for them at the moment.  They have a big thick book I have seen at the bookstore.  Do a search and i am sure that you will come up with the page.

Hey Leyla I was curious how you knew what the creatures actually looked like.  Also what was the visible marking on the skin?

Also thanks for the update, I am interested to hear how it ends up.

I got the gist that that was what the monroe institute's lifeline program was all about.  Anyone around that participated in that and could shed some light?

Does anyone have any theories about why this would work?  One thought i had was maybe a three-dimensional pentagram with the top point being the center of the mole.  Like looking down on a pyramid.

Also does or should anyone have the ability to actually see what is going on claravoyantly or on the astral or whatever? Any description of what this specific neg attachment looks like?  I would think Robert and others would actually be able to -see- exactly what is happening, no?

Just some discussion spurners, soooo ideas?  I am most curious about this.

Hey guys thanks for the advice!  What you say rings true to me.

When i first started thinking about projection, lucid dreaming and whatnot, almost the first thing that occured to me was that now instead of thinking and acting in negative ways just being an abstract not-*directly*-applicable concept there was now reason for me to see how once you began attempting to cross the boundary one would be  held back by direct and concrete manifestations of their negativite thoughts and drives.

I guess what i mean is that i could never understand the christian concept of being punished in an eternal fire for wrongdoing but then once i started thinking about the idea of thought manifests reality it all made sense to me.

So in essence what you are saying is that some negativity has still not been flushed out and as my consciousness is raised and as I progress towards that boundary the negativity begins to manifest?   The first part of that form that i am aware of is the voice and if i kept going it would gain more and more substance?

Or the other possibility is that my negativity is drawing some other negativity towards me and allowing that to latch and whisper in my ear?

I guess all of that is fine and makes sense to me and surely it is true that i have stuff to flush out still.  The thing that makes me actually nervous is doing NEW and having this definite feeling of actively pulling something into my legs and into my chakras and whatnot and then all the sudden there is an occasional different voice in my head.  It hasn't happened often at all but enough to make me raise an eyebrow.

Robert talks about the legs being the most vulnerable point of attack and that if the legs are attacked that they will pulse and twitch on you and such.  But then in the next breath he says that the same thing will be expected to happen with NEW.  He also says that with NEW and attempting to project you will feel the incredible heart chakra pulses which i have definitely felt with great vivactity, and then he also says you will feel this if you are possessed.  So i am a little leary when there seems to be this duality of experience being described;  one being energy raising and the other being possession, and both entering through the legs.   Any thoughts?

So anyways, I am just keeping my inner eyes peeled for any signs of nonsense and i figured a random naughty voice would count. :)

Thankyou for the help!

Yes i am also very curious about this evil "lower voice."  I'm very curious about the fact that i have done all this energy work and what not and all the sudden there is an evil lil imp voice in my head!

It doesn't seem to follow to me unless it is deep down residual stuff that needs to be worked through or something along those lines.  This voice also sounds suspiciously like the voice i've come in contact w/ while incredibly high or tripping on acid, and that has always been accompanied by a feeling that i lowered my defenses and something is now able to talk to me that doesn't normally have access....

So what exactly is the point of this "lower voice" and why does it now have a mic and how do i take it back?  WHat is your idea of "working through it."

Like i said i would buy that it is some sort of subconcious shenanigans or something but the stuff seems totally and completely 100% off the wall and not stuff that is normally a part of my being whatsoever.

Here is an incredibly effective way to pass out.  It doesn't feel like you have to technically hold your breath or be strangled or anything.  So in a sense it feels the safest but of course I would be careful and you are probably wasting brain cells everytime you try it.  But you do feel like you leave your body, its very interesting.

Here's the method:
Get down in catchers squat with your head down between your legs.
Take 10 or 15 deep strong deep breaths at a decent speed but not really hyperventalating
Then on the last one stand up and plug your nose and blow into it like you are clearing your ears (it only takes like 3-5 seconds of blowing and then you're out... its real quick)

Definitely an interesting feeling but be please be safe.
