Hello,

Last night I had a nightmare, which is very unusual for me. My dreams are normally pleasant, and I'm typically an observer, so even when bad things happen it doesn't appear to happen to me.

However last night my dream scared the crap out of me and I could barely get back to sleep.

I was happily in dream land, in some room of some sort underneath a palace. I was kicking a ball or something, when all of a sudden I was viewing myself sleeping. In my room. Throughout all my dreams and many false awakenings, I have never actually been in my real room. But this was. I saw myself sleeping, and I saw a figure which may have been myself, floating in a half fetal position to the right hand side of me, looking at me.

This was, for some reason, extremely terrifying and I was instantly inside my body (still in the dream) on the bed and I sat bolt upright. My neck was forced to look at my cupboard mirror which is opposite my bed, and I could see myself in the mirror, mouth stuck open and screaming. I heard the screaming. I was stuck there for about 5 seconds when I was suddenly able to move and immediately lay down. I was still dreaming, lying on my bed terrified. Eyes shut. I opened my eyes and saw the figure that was floating beside me was gone (I think it was gone as soon as i sat up). I stayed there a short while then sat up again to take a peek at the mirror. Instantly my neck was forced, seemingly physically forced to look at the mirror where I saw myself screaming again. I was able to lie down a bit faster this time, and then I was awake.

Sweating, and with a fast heartbeat. I looked at my mirror, nothing there of course. But I was very afraid of going back to sleep.

Eventually I did sleep again however, and had pleasant dreams.

Anyone know what I should make of this? Just now I was lying on my bed and I cant get rid of the idea that something is floating there beside my bed.
