I believe it's called precognitive dreams and it can be called a premonition as well.

Welcome to News and Media! / Re: Gas Station Ghost
January 01, 2008, 19:46:59
I just thought that I would inform you that I had previously made a post with a link to the same video, which can be found here: http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_psychic_and_paranormal/ghost_caught_on_a_security_tape_at_a_gas_station_in_parma_ohio-t27031.0.html

I guess it still would be interesting to see what more people think it is.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: question

Quote from: Neil Templar
there are a number of audio cds available which help to induce OBEs,which sounds like a helpful tool, especially if you're having little success with traditional methods.my question is-in people's opinions, how well do they work?

Yeah, binaural beats helps/has helped me in having a conscious out-of-body-experience. Some CD's that I used seem to work more better than others. Overall, I would say that they increase my chances significantly (that's what it seems like).

Quote from: Neil Templar
And,would using this method to achieve OBEs lessen one's ability to reach the desired state without using the cds?

After you've use binaural beats for awhile, you'll notice/should notice that it takes less time for you to reach the state you desire.

Quote from: Neil Templar
i've recently had a few OBEs,so traditional methods are obviously working for me,but a tool which works every time would be amazing!
what do you guys think??

It doesn't work every time but while you use them, don't be surprised if you have an experience of some sort, like phasing, a lucid dream, an out-of-body experience, etc.

Now, upon return I feel like I've been 'away' for most of the day. Like I've had a whole day's activities squashed into my projection time. Is this common?

Yeah, there have been times when I felt like I was out a long time.

Quote from: markf
Question 2. As I began projecting, I recall fluidly spinning around horizontally and vertically (like riding a rollercoaster ). I felt some initial queasiness, dizzyness from this. Is this also common?

Definitely. I've experienced this several times in the past.

#5
Yeah, I'm usually not aware of my hands too. There have been times when I flew superman-style, so I guess my hands/arms were (like my body) parallel to the ground. Also, I levitated before and my hands/arms were by my side and they have been spread out as well.

#6
Focus on something, like your breathing or the darkness behind your eyelids.

Well, what I do is passively watch the images until one fills the screen and I automatically become a part of that scene (you'll know when it happens). Sometimes, if I see an image that's blurry/distorted, I try to make it as clear and vivid as possible, then when it becomes clear and stable, I'm sucked in. If I'm still not in the scene, then I mentally push forward/focus all my attention on that one scene. There are times when I create an image and try to make it as real as possible, which works in a similar way to phasing into random images.

Sleep paralysis is definitely an advantage because all you have to do is an exit technique, like rolling.

I always believed that there had to be more than just living in the physical but by having an OBE, it has proved to me that we do indeed continue to live after we die. However, instead of focusing on this life, my sights are set on the afterlife. I can't wait for the permanent OBE because I will be free from pain (I will not go into detail, I'll leave it at that). I don't fear death, I look forward to it.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: need help what happened

Brief Description (based on what I think I read:

The etheric plane is the level just above the physical plane and it's also known as the real-time-zone. Its vibration is higher than the physical. It's a duplicate of the physical plane but with reality fluctuations (one may see physical objects as being a different color, different place, etc.).

The astral plane is the level above the etheric plane and it's also known as the emotional plane. Its vibration is higher than the etheric. This is where one's thoughts/desires will manifest. Also, time and space doesn't exist/is distorted in this place.

It was your description that told me you had an etheric projection (the leg stopping, the pulling back, you was in your room...).

If your trying to phase, it sounds like you were close.

After a while, those images will last for longer and eventually one of them will fill your entire viewing area and when this happens, you'll be instantly pulled into the scenery or you just mentally push forward to phase into the astral.

First Experience:

I woke up at mid-night on my right side and I either kept my eyes closed or opened them for like a second then closed them. I thought that this might be a good time to try to project. I tried to imagine/feel myself, as vividly as I can, floating up and after like a minute, I did. I ended up floating in mid-air (looking in the opposite direction of my physical body) slowly moving forward. My legs were parallel to the ground and my upper body was straight up. My room looked exactly the same as the physical. When I was floating, I didn't really realize that I was out-of-body until I returned to my physical body. I remember thinking something like, "wait a minute, I don't remember getting up!" Even though it only lasted like 10 seconds, I was excited because everything that I read was true.

Yeah, I know, it doesn't sound exciting but it was my first out-of-body-experience.

#13
When I meditate/attempt to go out-of-body, I'm in supine position (lying on my back). It doesn't really matter what position your in as long as you can relax.

#14
I think I'm leaning more towards phasing as opposed to the traditional approach.

#15
If you look at the larger image, it shows something to the left of the girl in the picture. I'm not saying it's a ghost or anything. When she first showed me the picture, I couldn't give her a definitive answer as to what it was, so I decided to post the image to see what everyone thinks it is.

This is my sister's photo that someone took (I think it was in a bus) while she was going on a trip (a while back):

I was just wondering, what do you think this is a reflection of?

#17
I've only told my father and my brother. They seem to believe that it's possible and that I'm telling the truth. Even though I don't feel comfortable talking about it, I still share some of my experiences with them.

This is a link to a video of a ghost or something that was caught on a security camera at a gas station in Parma, Ohio just recently:
http://creepycleveland.blogspot.com/2007/11/ghost-caught-on-security-tape-at-gas.html

What are your thoughts/opinions as to what this thing might be?

#19
To project from a lucid dream, I tell myself something like, "I want to have an out-of-body-experience," then I begin to have one or I wake up in the right state (I might here the ringing noise in the ears and/or I'll feel very light, etc.) and I focus on floating up. I let go as they say. If I hear the ringing noise, then I focus on it until it's very loud and I automatically float up.

#20
Sometimes when I project, I go through the living room area, which is where the bird is. He seems to react to my presence by chirping loudly and going crazy flying all over the cage.

What is the easiest method of obtaining Astral Travel?

For me, the easiest methods are using affirmations and projecting from a lucid dream.

Quote from: Tahu88810
Should I simply clear my mind and first let my right hand leave my body (so far I've been able to get my wrist to do this) and then get my left hand to leave my body, and then my torso and so on?

Clear your mind and relax your body. To clear your mind, try to focus on your breathing. To relax your body, do progressive muscular relaxation.

while i was projecting i went to the kitchen to see them but i didnt see anybody that was weird

That's normal when you project, one can see things that aren't there, and sometimes you don't see things that are suppose to be there.

Quote from: Soulja_
I though there were no limit when u projecting like you decided when you want to wake up.

That is not necessarily the case, there are numerous reasons why one will automatically go back to the physical, enter a dream, etc.

Quote from: Soulja_
so I was wondering if there were some tip/technique while u projecting to gain full control to stay in ap.

While out-of-body, I try to stay focused and calm, no matter what I'm experiencing at that very moment.

Next thing I know is although 'asleep' I can see my clock on the wall only its not on the wall its on the ceiling.

You were seeing through your astral eyes. On the etheric plane, there are reality fluctuations. Some things can be out of place, a different color, etc.

Quote from: Jimari
I could not move a muscle..suddenly my body gave a tremendous jerk and I was awake...

You were in a state called sleep paralysis. The jerk that you've felt was probably your astral body returning to your physical body.

Quote from: Jimari
Is this simply mind awake and body asleep.. If so where can it lead and how can I get to this state again..

Since your physical body was paralyzed (body asleep), and you were consciously aware of what was going on (mind awake), I would say that you were in the mind awake/body asleep state. It can lead to an OBE if you want. You either are lucky enough to wake up in this state or you reach this state through meditation.

Sometimes when I project I feel as though I'm going through a tunnel. I think that your dream turned into a projection.

And they looked like they were made of gas or something

Perhaps you were seeing their aura.

Quote from: zorgblar
How many people on here besides me use affirmations as their astral projection method?

Sometimes I use affirmations to have an OBE and/or a lucid dream.

Quote from: zorgblar
When do you use it?

Throughout the entire day.

Quote from: zorgblar
When going to bed in the morning or at night?

Before I go to bed at night and in the morning when I try and go back to sleep. I keep saying them in my mind until I fall asleep.

Quote from: zorgblar
And how many times do you say it to make it effective?

Just like Awakened_Mind said, the more you say it, the better. Usually, I say them every hour.
