I did my NEW and trance mediation today wearing a bright red t-shirt.
I usually wear more neutral coloures. It is said that coloures can have a greta effect on peopel and energys. I have never given this much thought and guessed that if there really is such an effect, it probably is pretty marginal.
After al there are so many outer influences, such as sounds, moods, warmth, coold and al the energy influences from outside, that coloure probably has a wery minor port.

But today during meditation I feelt quite strange, I got a hot sensation in the upper body.. this could be due to the warm summer weather too- I don´t know. But it got me intersegted. I will try and experiment with it.

Have you got any other ideas on outer influences- whitch there are, and what effect they have? - would be interseting to study further.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / That special thing..
July 09, 2004, 04:15:45
Amen to that bro... I spent last summer planning, well not actively planning (more thinking of) for a 2 week or so long hike in the more northern landscapes of Sweden. Untouched nature... its inhabitants - and me.
Then work came in between - and I was in no position to say no.
Still yerning (sp?) for this, and I´ll go for it once I get the "opening"... this I think will be extremely beneficial, and the ultimate battery recharger!
Last summer I just took my m-bike and got away from the city, to the forrest and the open sea. Sleeping under an open sky listening to nature and the waves crashing in... one day and my batteries was almost fully recharged - I wonder what magic a 2 week hike would be capable of........

Be well db, maybe I´ll see you at some mountain "soon"...... or perhaps at a monastery in Tibet, on a hill - with the bells ringing... remember?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / dentistophobia
October 23, 2002, 05:53:18
Hey brother, glad you´re back mate...

.... not that it will make you feel much better, but there alot of people sharing your what you called it; dentistophobia?   I am not one of them (even though don´t thrive in having a dude sticking sharp items in meza mouth), lucky me, but I have other just as disturbing phobias...

I am not sure what to do, except what you can do with all phobias...  you do realize there is nothing to fear, so try and let your intellect convince you to that...  and step into your "lightbody", the place where there is no tension nor fear, only complete inner peace.  Imagine yourself being drugged or something, use your imagination....     all the best //Rick

There was a little booklet written by some russian guy in th elocal library until some sob nicked it. Can't recall the title or the author.
What I remember is that the imaging setup is a high voltage&frequency alternating electric field and a standard photographic plate (i guess large format sheet type filöms would be easiest to use).

There were pics of leaves with the tip cut of tat still showed the tip and a finger with protuberances similar to those on the sun's surface. Now,whether these were real or fake I don't know but the images were pretty.

Check http://www.kirlian.org/kirlian.htm and http://www.cebunet.com/kirlian/viewer.htm and http://www.imagesco.com/articles/kirlian

the ancient secret of the flower of life, volm 1 and 2-by Drnvalo Melchizedek. this is the source of the book mentioned before, nothing in this book is true..., -when i think of occultism, the subjects in this book seem to fit-sacred geometry, alchemy, egyptian mysticim-things hidden.
wonders of the natural mind, by tenzin wangyal , i have read two books by thinly norbu that are the most exquisitly worded books ever.
wow-when looking at my books i found that i have a copy of eckankar-the key to secret worlds- i first heard of soul travel 25 years ago but i don't know if i read the book. eckankar was an organization that taught soul travel, i have no idea if they still exist.

There is no such thing as "time" on the Astral. Which means trying to relate one with the other is rather difficult. As a result, you may measure clock-time on the physical and the reading may be 10 minutes. However, on the Astral you may have felt like you were projecting for many times that, or just for a few moments, or anything inbetween.

One of the major "problems" you have to face when entering within Astral realms is the concept of infinity. It's tricky one to get to grips with.

It is possible that things will be that way, however it is also possible that it won't.   50/50 alots for both.   The major thing of it is on your part.  Do not just dissmiss the child already because you can see its mother with in.  You have to remember that your brother is in there also.  There is a blood tie.  If you cut that connection now it will be next to impossible to restore.  If you just instead accept it things will hopefully go better.
However the child will most certainly always have that question of why.  I have seen this many times with children of divorced parents.  One side will do a lot to beat down the memories of the other side but that question always remains.  Why the hate?  What happened?  and so on.  In most cases I have seen there eventually developes a need for the truth.  The child will seek this on thier own.  Your part is not to give reasons for these things, be open and accepting.   The child will see who and what you are with thier own eyes and formulate the truth from there.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Bedroom/temple
June 22, 2002, 07:41:52
Neat, making one room "sacred"...  have thought about that as well, but do not have the space as for now so....  but I would want a room with no stuff other than what would bring on the feeling of... let´s say "spirit & harmony".. (of course such as room I already have, the big room of untouched nature)
Having like a small waterfall, or at least some sort of fountain, alot of plants and so forth...

"Is it OK to have the bedroom as a temple- or is it really worth putting the bed in the livingroom and only have the other room as a temple?"

That´s completely up to you to decide for yourself brother, but I wouldn´t want a bed in there, but at the same time Iwould like to sleep in such a room... =)  Let me put it like this, I wouldn´t want a bed in my "temple" during awake time, but I would like to sleep in a "temple"......  sounds mezzy? hehee

I know what you mean. Seems like most people, especial those in school/college, just think about partying. I was never a heavy partier. I like to go out with friends and be social sometimes, but I just can not place all my thoughts on getting drunk and partying. Seems like such a waste to do it all the time. I just do not understand why people do not wish to learn more as there is so much more than just partying. I am glad that you can stand up and not be ashamed for being different. Maybe you will open some people's eyes, maybe not now but when they are older and ready to seek.

Perhaps I should have answered the questions myselfe..

well- here we go..

1. I usually sitt cross leged on a round green thik carpet on the floor- but I can only do this for so long before my legs start hurting. I try sometimes to sit on the couche to- but I do not reach the same levle of deep meditation that way.

2. I always do NEW sitting on my couch- usually with candles light in the eavning. It is important to be comfortable while doing NEW.

3.I guess the stronegest experiences I have had have been when going into pretty deep trance while sitting cross leged- it is a monumental feeling when thebody really starts to tingle and vibrate..

Welcome to Metaphysics! / What is Magick?
June 04, 2002, 01:05:07
From what I know the word magic is comes from a latin word which roughly translates"from the depths within". It also has alot to do with imagery on the senses ie Image. A mage who is one who makes use of "I"mage. It has alot to do with inner workings. We are all connected in a way to each other and are a miniture universe unto ourselves but our sepratness is linked to the whole of humanities group universe. So in theory if I do some inner plane work it is my bit of the group that effects the whole. If I want to affect another person then I see them in my little universe and sure enough a link is established to the person or situation or object conserned and can affect them/it.Hard to put in words. Belife plays a big role. The same sort of belife that the sun is going to rise in the morning, is the same feeling I must have to make my desires manifest. Will is putting this belife into action. If my will is not strong enough then neither is my belife.
What happens within a person affects what is around him and vice versa. The number 8 the symbole(image) of affinity shows how this works. The intersecting lines on the 8 represent a persons conscousness. The loops pass through this affect both the inner and outer. So the situation that happens on one side of the 8 crosses over the point and affects the inner. I dont know how to explain this clearly but it is a personalised view that explain actions on one level affect the other.

Distant bell & Grenade01

a friend of mine told me that when he came back from India after visiting his guru he met a devotee of a kundalini yoga ashram on the plane. She was heading home and was quite distraught over her time in India. When questioned she said that her guru raised the kundalini in his devotees. He was always trying to get her to give in to his method, finally she agreed to have him raise her kundalini.

She then said that he made her have the biggest orgasm she had ever had, in front of everyone, she had never been so embarrassed or humiliated. She left the ashram as soon as she could. She said that she felt violated. She never told him how the guru did it though.

From my understanding of kundlani through tantra, it is just sexual energy, moving or flowing though the whole body rather then just the genitals. Tantra is basically training yourself to use this sexual energy through lots of exercises and meditations. There are heaps of web sites on tantra, but few with any real information, lots of people think tantra is just prolonged sex, but it is more than that. Good luck.

The advantage of just doing one thing is that it is possible to spend more time and effort on it and so to get more results from it. Ten steps on one path can be better than one step on ten different paths. If you can combine aspects of ten different paths to create a single, unique system then it is still ten steps along a single path.

Actually, I can say that it is possible to do energy work while very intoxicated. The complication from lack of concentration is that directing the energy is a lot harder. It is like trying to run on wet ice, but not as painful. Having done both NEW and reiki while intoxicated, I can say that it isn't really any better to do either when drunk.

Not the music but I alway loved the "darkness" of the night sky. You sit there and maybe watch the moon, or whatever, and wonder.

I remember when I met this young woman who, after a few years, became my wife. We'd look up at the night sky and talk about the planets and the stars, and stuff. Our best times together are those moments of "stillness".

We imagine a "peace" of a nature that would one day encompass the whole world.

Yep, if only.

But we are happy and that's all that really matters.

Yours,
Frank

The mantra "om mani padme hum" doesn't translate very well. "Om" is a common word to start mantras with. In Hinduism it is a name of God. In Buddhism, it still seems to represent limitlessness. "Hum" is also commonly used. In Buddhism it takes what has come before it and integrates it with daily reality and limited appearances. "Mani" is jewel. "Padme" is lotus. The jewel in the lotus represents a combination of wisdom and compassionate activity. "Jewel Lotus" is a person's name. In Tibetan, Chenrezig. In Sanskrit, Avalokitesvara. "om mani padme hum" is the mantra of Chenrezig. It is also associated with a "seed syllable", "hrih". It is called the six syllable mantra, and each of the syllables has more than one association. This mantra works with the six perfections, the six realms (in Buddhism, all of samsara), six negative emotions, and six positive emotions.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / fundamentalism
April 30, 2002, 10:36:02
Pre warning this post may offend the religious.  But keep in mind it is only one persons view and that would be mine.

I have thought long and hard on this subject and as a result I have aquired a favorite past time from it.  Which woudl be agrivating "fanatics".

I can say without a doubt that there is no God.  But I can also say without a doubt that there is.  I shall explain my madness.

First off the lighter side.  Yes there is a God.  He lives, breaths, and resides in the hearts and minds of those who believe.  He his all powerfull and understanding of your situation.  He shows compasion and mercy for all. He is the person who guides you through life and teaches you right from wrong.

But unfortunately that is the only place he lives.  I have studied and looked into many religions and in the end they all turn out the same.  Thiers is the true way and to believe in any other means damnation.  So to put it mildly the entire world is damned from the get go.  There are too many descripincies(sp?) between them all for one person to make any kind of sence out of it.  But I tried.  You have to take each with a grain of salt and consider the time at which they were written.

Most of the great books that are out there were designed as a way of life.  This being so that a person would live longer and healthier.  The Mormon book being what I think is the supream example of this.  If you look at how many things a Mormon can not do, eat, or drink and you will begin to see this.  Ask yourself this.  How many Mormans have you seen that are ture to thier religion that are unhealthy?  The answer being not many, not very many at all.  It seems that all of the books were written as a guide to helathy living for the time and region that they were written in.  Hence the vast differences for one book to the next.  Further more they were written as some what as a book of laws also.  Covering all the areas of what you can and can not do.  How to treat your family, friends, and fellow man.

The reason for this being that it is instinctive of all life on Earth to achieve some sort of balance with nature.  These books were our attempt to do so.  If you listen to all the lessons there is at least on common thread.  That being one of simple living.  A basic "do not bite off more than you can chew." view piont.  Through time however they have all become an institution.  Many of thier ways and teachings have been lost.  This being either one they no longer apply or two people in general are starting to see past all the smoke and mirrors.  But still it si normal for people to seek a guide for life because it is easier to be told how to do things rather than finding out.  And most people have no idea what todo when faced with some thing that they don't understand.  So they seek out answers and for what ever reason they either do not have the resources or are happy with the first responce they get because if nothing else it is an answer and it is soothing to know that at least some one else has experienced it and understands.

Think of it some what like school.  When you were young you were sent off to school to learn but you had no major desire to do so. (Well most of us.)  And nor did those before us.  So instead of having this huge warehouse of books and knowladge for us to muddle through they provide us with an athority on the subject.  And we often took thier word as law because we did not want to acertain this information on our own.  So you begin to learn and when you ran accross some thing that puzzled you again you return to that same ssource for answers.  And sometimes got the perverbale(SP?) "Becasue I said so."  Which in most cases is retorted with "Oh, okay."  And we go blindly on our way.

Such is the machine of organzied religion.  The blind leading the blind for control or the masses to try and ensure that we don't kill ourselves.  Power in its purest form.  It is easier being a sheep than it is being a shepard.

With respect to energy systems that involve choreographed or repeated movements:

They work--though slowly, at least in my experience. A friend of mine has been doing Tai Chi for a year. She finally started to feel warmth and tingling in her palms. Spring Forest Qigong seems to have "prepared" me for NEW. I started feeling energy immediately, and it's my understanding that this isn't the case for everyone.

I should also mention that I felt energy beating off of both my friend's Tai Chi instructor and my Qigong instructor the first time I met both. (This was a distinct sensation that was unnoticeable during subsequent encounters. I became used to their energy?)

I should also mention that I couldn't even begin to conceive of the intensity of energy sensations until I started NEW. A year of Spring Forest Qigong (Remember, one style of Qigong in literally thousands.) just can't compare to the sensations of NEW. To be fair though, I'm only talking about apparent sensations. General health benefits would be too subjective to talk about at this point.

In any case, these are just personal annecdotes. Personally, if was deciding on an energy system,  I'd immediately start NEW, but keep an open mind about everything else. I will not disregard 5000 years of tradition.

I'm really curious about how other systems compare to NEW. Has anyone practiced both regularly and can compare?

In my opinion it sounds like you know yourself all too well.

One of the first major steps to figuring out just who you are is to realize what you are doing.  Like the wearing of masks as you put it.  But to me some of these times that you say we are wearing masks to fullfill what are true self wants is incorrect.
How many things have you wanted or tried to do inyou life only to find yourself within a few weeks right back where you started?  Like some one who starts out determind to excersize more.  They start out really good and slowly taper off until normallity has returned.  This happens because thier true self does not want this.  It is not who they are.  I am not saying that this persons true self does not want to excersize, far from it.  It wants to or else the feeling would not have been there.  It is just that the person in question was trying to be some one else and was excersizing in a manner that did not fit whit thier true self.  The desire is still there but the person can become depressed because they can not stick with it.  It is in fact only a matter of trying something else.
To be true to yourself you have to understand that you often can not go around and do everything mainstream.  You can try, it might work for you.  That may be who you are.  But if you try anything and it starts to tapper off in that same kind of manner but the desire and drive is still there maybe you should look at what you are doing.  Is it you or some one else.  Then try a different approach.  Our true self speeks to us all the time it is only a matter of stoping and listening to it.  Question your current actions, and make changes when need be.

A quick break down of life and scholls in the US.

In general the schools in the US are behind most of the other major countries.  Our education level is average at best.  How ever if you do some research you can find some really good collages and universities.  But the coast can get expensive for people who are not locals.  That being most of them have two rates, one for in state students and another for out of state students.  And you are most diffinatly out of state.  You would also require I student visa in order to go to school here if I am correct.  And possibily a work visa as well to get a job for cash in flow while here also.  Things have become more locked down as of late.

As far as people, social life, and money.  Well things vary greatly from location to location on all of those subjects.  The best thing to do would be to look it up.  As far as money and social things to do.  As far as people I can only tell you about the places where I have lived.  California is okay, It is relativly easy for you to meet people there most are friendly but the cost of living is high.  As for Arizona it is okay too.  But we have a lot of crazy people.  You have to be carefull where you are going to live.  Travelling is easier is AZ than in CA any how.  The roads here don't get as conjested.
But there is a large selection of kinds and types of people in general in the US.  You can most deffinatly find the perfect little place for yourself here.  I don't know anything about Australia.  Oh, one more thing.  We do have a large selection of bugs, animals, and wildlife here as well.  Many can be rather dangerous.  Specially the desert.

Hi Distant Bell!

Thanks for your kind remarks http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

But you don't have to apologise I assure you! I need to know about any fault so I can look into fixing it. If I don't know, i can't do anything about it.

There is no danger of upsetting me I assure you - after 23 years dealing with users in the computer and Internet industries I have seen most things  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

The main problem is that there are so many different types of Internet connection, PC's web browsers, and many other things being used to access these forums, which consist of hundreds of thousands of lines of code to e very big and powerful SQL database, that getting it right for everyone is well nigh impossible - all I can do is the best average configuration to meet the requirements of the most possible members.

Of course, I will continue to tweak things as we go along http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

I am looking to increase the size of the fonts, but that could cause a whole new set of problems,  so I am being cautious there as well.

It is a pity Winged Wolf isn't around right now, but by her own admission the equipment she was using was very low spec - just one of those things.

Bye for now,

Adrian.

I find that what works best for such situations is to say something totally unexpected.

Like in that case. You go...In a happy and cheerfull tone Like the person is actually helping you.

"Are you sure? It was the other way around yesterday.  They must have switched it last night."

Then while they are confused you go merily on your way.  And as you are leaving say thanx for the help.

It works really good for all kinds of things.  Most people do not know how to respond.  This being mostly that when one gives a hostile remark they expect a hostile answer.  The cheery mood tends to confuse them.

Then there are always the quick one liners too.

"That all depends on you perspective."
"Your point being."
"And I care because"

Things like that.  Those are ofcourse intended to ofend.

THe following is the health code called the Word of Wisdom which I follow.  I find that when people follow health codes-- eat healthy, eat well balanced foods, etc-- they "discover hidden treasures of knowledge".

Excuse the letters before some the words, on the original site (www.lds.org) they are links to other information.
SECTION 89
Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Kirtland, Ohio, February 27, 1833. HC 1: 327—329. As a consequence of the early brethren using tobacco in their meetings, the Prophet was led to ponder upon the matter; consequently he inquired of the Lord concerning it. This revelation, known as the Word of Wisdom, was the result. The first three verses were originally written as an inspired introduction and description by the Prophet.

1—9, Use of wine, strong drinks, tobacco, and hot drinks proscribed; 10—17, Herbs, fruits, flesh, and grain are ordained for the use of man and of animals; 18—21, Obedience to gospel law, including the Word of Wisdom, brings temporal and spiritual blessings.

1 A aWORD OF WISDOM, for the benefit of the council of high priests, assembled in Kirtland, and the church, and also the saints in Zion—

2 To be sent greeting; not by commandment or constraint, but by revelation and the aword• of wisdom, showing forth the order and bwill• of God in the temporal salvation of all saints in the last days—

3 Given for a principle with apromise•, adapted to the capacity of the bweak• and the weakest of all csaints, who are or can be called saints.

4 Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of aevils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of bconspiring men in the last days, I have cwarned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation—

5 That inasmuch as any man adrinketh bwine• or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him.

6 And, behold, this should be wine, yea, apure• wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make.

7 And, again, astrong• drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies.

8 And again, tobacco is not for the abody, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill.

9 And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.

10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome aherbs• God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man—

11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with aprudence and bthanksgiving•.

12 Yea, aflesh• also of bbeasts• and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used csparingly;

13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be aused•, only in times of winter, or of cold, or bfamine.

14 All agrain• is ordained for the use of man and of beasts, to be the staff of life, not only for man but for the beasts of the field, and the fowls of heaven, and all wild animals that run or creep on the earth;

15 And athese• hath God made for the use of man only in times of famine and excess of hunger.

16 All grain is good for the afood of man; as also the bfruit• of the vine; that which yieldeth fruit, whether in the ground or above the ground—

17 Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox, and oats for the horse, and rye for the fowls and for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and barley for all useful animals, and for mild drinks, as also other grain.

18 And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, ashall• receive bhealth• in their navel and marrow to their bones;

19 And shall afind• bwisdom and great ctreasures of dknowledge•, even hidden treasures;

20 And shall arun• and not be bweary•, and shall walk and not faint.

21 And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the adestroying angel shall bpass• by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / about to break...

Hi Felix,

after rain comes........   well you know the end of that one.
I will give you an advice which I strongly believe is the key to shake of a down mood - DO NO FIGHT IT!!   Accept fully your feelings and the thoughts which make you feel down, it is alright and they won´t harm you.
Try to think you feel like this for a purpose which you cannot see at the moment, and know you´ll feel better very soon.
It is nothing wrong with you, the vast majority of people have their ups and down - shifting...    just like the cycles of nature....  it is natural...  sometimes our mood goes a lil bit deeper down than it "normally" do, that´s when being rich on perspectives comes in and saves the day.  Seeing the negativity experienced in a new light, from different angles, and eventually with help from those perspectives, which allows you to see the sun (which always shines) - dissolving the clouds.

I just finished a book last night, by my #1 favourite author, Dan Millman, heard of him?  The book was "Laws of Spirit" (in swedish; Andens Lagar), and somehow I feel that one may be what you want to get your eyes on right now my friend...  it should be in the library I think.
It will help you look at your present situation in a very powerful way I think. I felt after closing the last page last night; "Man, this is the only ´guidebook´ I "need" for the rest of my life!!"  I know if I can live by these laws, I will forever live in peace...  and they are very easy to understand.
I recommend reading that one if you can get your hands on it, tell me what you think when done okay?

And remember, no one is perfect, and no one ask you to be perfect, not even "god"(whatever definition you wanna give him/her/it).
Everyone of us is "created by god", and god, well god simply do not make junk!!

PS. Did I use the word "should" back then did I? (doesn´t "reason" with me), when I talked about spiritual development, mentioning my main goal in life is spiritual development (which is very "broad" should I say). After all, spiritual development and experiences from this life is the only thing we bring with us when we "goes" I think...

Well Felix, if you are lucky the bastard - and I say bastard in a nice way, ehum.. - who stole my m- bike recently, took it down to Lund and tries to sell it down there...   have your eyes open for a green/black Scott Boulder, you´ll get it pretty cheap I reckon´... ;)  It was a fine bike that one, ahh... memories..
I absolutely love m- biking, and as soon as my economy improves just slightly I´ll head out and buy a new one...  a shame I am not in the skåne neighbour hood anymore, I mean if I were we could go out make the forrests unsafe...  you´re right about the meditation feeling, when I head out in to the forrest on my bikie, and specifically on the really nasty terrain areas - I head to concentrate 100% on what I did, otherwise I´d risk cracking my spine or something nice like that falling off the bike in a downhill mountainside....   my noisy surface mind went pretty as much silent as the gliding hawk above...

A tip is to check out the internet auctions (sp?), that is were I got mine 60-70% cheaper than I´d had to give in the bike shop.  Of course I knew what the bike was good for since my bro had the exact one, perhaps not so wise to just buy one on the internet for the looks of it...

  Mountainbiking is tha bomb!!

"22. Now, therefore, I am known to ye by my name Nuit, and to him by a secret name which I will give him when at last he knoweth me. Since I am Infinite Space, and the Infinite Stars thereof, do ye also thus. Bind nothing! Let there be no difference made among you between any one thing & any other thing; for thereby there cometh hurt."

well I think depending on who you ask a demon might not be so black
or white good or evil. it could have the appearance of a demon
and the mind of an angel suppose.  But I suppose a demon could have
any negative trait. Crowley had a gaurdian demon because that was
what he needed to save him in a way. but maybe gaudian spirit
is a better word an entity that looks over.  lets say that your spirit
was a gaurdian demon it could make you believe that the whole world
is against you making you go through the abyss and cross it
making you a stronger better person who acts without fear.
this is a good thing but if an entity were to do that to you
without knowing the end result you would think it was evil.

There has to be some sort of cause for depressions like that, but when it hits it can be very difficult to trace back to the causes. If there are things that consistently make you happy or otherwise elevate your mood then maybe you should have them standing by. It could be something as simple as a favorite food if you find that the depression hits when you haven't eaten in a while and your blood sugar is low. Maybe a colorful object. Maybe something that reminds you of a close friend. A favorite book.

I do not think that you could give up eating all together.  But I do suspect you could get away with eating less only because your could it a point were it processes things better and more effiently.

It would have been interesting to have tried. I think, though, that if the person you want to say hi to energetically is occupied the energy required to break through that concentration might be too high. It isn't just a matter of sending a message. You could visualize writing out a short message on a piece of paper: "Hi. I'm over here." You could charge it with energy and stick it in a visualized envelope and toss it over to the person. It will get there. The problem is that if the energy is insufficient to redirect the person's attention there will be no way to confirm receipt. You will not get the results you are looking for. Even so, it probably worked. When I am in a loosely focused trance, in the middle of reading a book or thinking about something, often the appearance of other people will cause me to pause as their energy interacts with mine. It is confusing initially because it breaks my concentration without giving me enough information like how or why.

Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / NEW

The exercises in working with energy and increasing the quantity of the energy within you are not the goal. They are the means of reaching a goal. It may be boring to play the scales on a musical instrument, but the purpose of a musical instrument is in playing songs. The scales, going up and down the notes, are exercises for gaining familiarity with the instrument and the sounds that it can produce. Your approach to energy work sounds like taking up an instrument for the purpose of learning to play scales without even knowing about playing actual songs. When you develop skill with energy, it will not just be for the purpose of pushing or pulling it around from place to place. It will not be about creating sensations, either, because those will actually decrease with your increasing skill and ability to work more directly with the energy. You will find yourself healing more quickly from injuries and illnesses. You will find positive mental and emotional states to be more secure and less easily disturbed. Then any tendencies toward accidents and injuries will diminish. This is as far as I have gotten in my own practices. Even so, I continue to practice the basics. My concentration grows stronger and my mind is less easily disrupted by day-to-day activities which once would have driven away my sense of purpose. This is what I am using NEW to increase. I want to develop my mental stability to the point where I can practice my religion (Mahayana Buddhism) in every moment of my life instead of getting caught up in little things and losing many hours before my clarity of mind returns.

In Franz Bardon's Initiation into Hermetics. He talks about siting in a chair but not resting your back on the backrest of the chair. So that your back and neck is straight, feet are together as well as knee's.

Peace be unto you.
