I am rather confused... as I read about astral projection, flowing from one thing to the next, I realize that I do that sometimes in my imagination before bed, even accompanied with visuals. But, I write it off as imagination.

It is, after all, right?

As what point do you all begin to think to yourself that the Astral realms are real? That they go beyond your head. That they are links to all other people, and even things that aren't people.

Is it all in the head? If it is, is there a point? Wouldn't it just be a waste of time?

It is confusing to me, I hope for a reality like this, but I want it applicable to this reality as well, I don't want to look upon it some day as a phase, something imaginary, something I used to escape from the world. Sometimes we all wish to escape, I do all the time when I am unhappy, but I refuse to! I may find distractions, but consciously choosing to believe something is real that is not? Unacceptable.

So I need to know it's real, and having astral projection happen at will, or will great detail, is not proof. It simply is not. It must have real world ramifications. Speaking with another physical person, for example, and sharing a message, and then verifying it in reality, that's something that can be depended upon as a verification that unless you started making up things you saw in reality it would be hard to miss.

Generally, seeing or knowing anything you shouldn't be able to know while sitting with your eyes closed, I'd take as existence of the astral. The verification of the astral I think would be through communicating with other people's minds, while the verification of OBE would be through communicating with the world, observing it, spying, whatever.

So, I want to hear from all of you that care to reply, at what point did you know it was real, how, and how strongly convinced are you? Are there those of you that engage in it but are still unsure? I feel I'll be in that category before I get to the former one, and it will be a frustrating time, a time of uncertainty, a feeling that can only be overridden by exuberant fun, but that will not cloud my mind for long.

I was thinking, since the arms and legs are the strongest places to channel energy, someone who had them chopped off (who was a limbless torso) would have a HARD time learning NEW. They'd not only have few places to start, but lose the best receptors.

Then I thought: hey, it's just the physical body, a buzz saw cutting through bone spurting gore everywhere wouldn't sever the energy body! The people have experienced it, and remember it! It will likely shrivel from lack of use, but it will still be there. Sometimes even after losing limbs, people think they have them and try to use them or rely on them. This may be the realization of the part of the energy body that is till there.

Correct me if I am wrong. I may refer this to RB if necessary.

I know it's supposed to represent the third eye... but how do they get it on there? Is it drawn on, or is it a wound they keep picking at so it won't heal? Why not just draw an eye, it looks prettier, like on Tien Shin Han. Yes, I know his eye's real...

Alex Chiu, this guy is weird... he makes all these Hebrew biblical prophecies using Chinese fortune telling methods... and he thinks his rings will make you immortal. I doubt it would do that, but I have seen a lot of magnetic bracelets for sale (I bought my mom and aunt some) so I figure this could 'possibly' do 'something', though I doubt it would reverse aging like it claims.

Even so... I want to test said rings. Since I get a free pair (supposedly) if I refer enough people to his site, I figured here would be the best place to post it (since putting it in my signature would be sort of stupid-looking).

So, if you want to check out the site, or help me rid myself of this silly little fixation by testing it, click on the following seizure-inducing link.

If it works, I'll tell you, no need to bother signing up yourself unless you're obsessed with long shots as well, but the site's definitely worth a gander for a laugh.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Sexual Taboo to Legality
January 02, 2005, 05:53:24
So, with gay marriage spreading in acceptance, which do you think is next major issue for the north American and European societies?

There's incest... beastiality... pedophilia... polygamous marriage... and meh, I'm feeling a desire to talk about something controversial, everyone avoids that around here, while it's actually a major philosophical issue.

I believe, scientifically, that humans began wearing clothing as a form of protection: first from the elements of nature (coats for cold, shoes for thorny paths...), and then from each other (armour for war, loin cloths to show which women were off limits, etc.). Shame had nothing to do with it until we were so accustomed to wearing clothes 24/7 that nakedness became a rare thing, and nobility began to glorify the human body and hide it because commoners weren't fit to look upon it, and that shame and restrictiveness eventually leaked out into the lower class who wish in all ways to emulate the upper class royalty in as many ways possible according to their means.

This is in conflict with old testament Jewish/Christian myths anyway, but I haven't studied into a lot of other culture's religions. How do the Muslims, Hindus, Wiccans, Pagans etc. explain clothing, if at all?

The thing is you have to click directly on the number, if you click a little bit to the side it will go to the first page.

I feel this issue needs to be brought out into the open, as I'd prefer not to be held accountable for something I haven't done. I received the following private message from Sage Daedalus:

QuoteSubject: virus?

Not to suggest that you did it, but I got an email from you with an attached this_message.com file or something like that, that was infected with a virus.

Care to explain?

I gave the following reply:

QuoteI'm afraid I can't... was this a private message or an e-mail message or what? I can't remember even e-mailing you... my memory is bad, so can you tell me if we've talked before, and if so on which thread?

You're most certainly not on any contact list, so this wouldn't be any automated virus. If you truly did get this, then someone must be abusing my account. I'll contact a moderator to try and get this fixed up. I'm generally not very concerned with protecting my security (lazy) so it might have been pretty easy for someone to hack or guess my password, I'll leave it up to them to find out.

So, as I've said, I am reporting this here for the moderators and bug investigators to look into. Hopefully you can find out what caused this concern.

Whenever someone makes a mistake, we blame it on the 'typo demon'. More and more, I am convinced that this demon may be family to many others who invade our typing fingers.

I would like to start an organization dedicating to speaking sternly to the hosts of these possessive entities, and work to push them away with great fervour!

When things such as Yoga, Reiki, Chi Gung and Tai Chi Ch'uan speak of speaking to god, drawing from heaven, or getting in touch with nature's natural divine flow of energy, or any likewise things, I'm finding difficulty.

It may be easy enough for someone undecided who believes in creationist theories, but when you don't, it's hard.

For those who are atheists, but do believe in subtle energies and want to manipulate them and imitate the effects of faith, or who take the standpoint that they are their own deity (obviously a metaphor, meaning you're the centre, the most important, the creator of your own destiny), how would one get around this barrier?

Have any others here had this problem?

The Insidious Mole Experiment, or T.I.M.E.!

I, Tyciol, real name Jordan Hill, hate my moles, I am a very moley individual. In response to reading about Robert Bruce's 'Biro' techniques in these two threads: http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14714 and http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1626 I have been brought to the knowledge of a strange technique used to eliminate moles with pens, by drawing circles with a cross through the mole inside them about the mole.

Since I don't go out much, and even when I did that never stopped me from drawing faces on my hands, I have no compulsions at all against doing the circle and cross experiment on removing moles. I will reference the tools being used in this, but I am receiving no compensation (or permission) from any of the companies in doing this experiment.

I have a web cam: a Logitech ClickSmart 310. As such, I will take pictures of my moled areas with it, and post them on the Internet for others to view. I will start with one of my bare arm, and state the moles which I will attempt to affect.

Since there is a 70% success rate, I will do the experiment on 10 moles simultaneously. Supposedly, 7 will disappear. Even one disappearing will be proof enough for me to conduct further experiments. If there is indeed a 70% success rate, and I follow all directions to the letter, the likely hood of this experiment not succeeding would be (0.3)^10 or 0.00059049% As such, I believe them to be great odds for testing the program, as well as to account for any mistakes I might make (up to the viewers to judge) in drawing the circles.

The pens I plan to use are two BiC round stic Grip pens. The package says ball pens... which I assume to be the same as ball point ones. I've e-mailed the company to verify this query. One is black, the other is blue. At the moment, I am unsure whether to test all one colour, or 50/50. Please advise me as to which you would all prefer. I will proceed with whatever receives the most votes after one week's time, during which I will also be able to make some decisions.

If anyone familiar with energy bodies, parasites, or the negative effects of doing this, would like to give me advice for how many moles I should do at once, what things to eat during the process so I don't die, or whatever, I would be most appreciative.

I have no love for the cross, perhaps some dislike towards it. If this experiment works despite that, it will show that it has nothing at all to do with indoctrinated deference to certain symbolisms.

Included is a picture of the upper side of my left arm, which I intend to use, out of convenience. If this experiment is successful I will conduct further ones on other areas of the body (the ones I can show, anyway). My arm is hairy, if you believe shaving it is necessary for this experiment to be fair, please say so now.

I'm hosting these pictures on my own website. I'm not sure how to upload pictures here (apparently we get 50 MB) so if anyone can tell me, I'd be most appreciative.

Picture of my arm with moles circled (I used paintbrush): http://tyciol.4t.com/Circled%20Bare%20Arm%20Pre-Test.JPG

Picture of my arm raw (not entirely useful, not all moles are as visible with this web-cam, I tried to reduce the glare): http://tyciol.4t.com/Bare%20Arm%20Pre-Test.jpg

If anyone would like to contact me in private and not by replying to this thread, all my contact information is included in my profile.

Other than obvious things like 'I will remember all my dreams, I will be lucid' what other affirmations do you guys like to use (or think would be good to use)? This can be related to ANYTHING, not just dreaming or psychic abilities. It could be "I'll be confident" or "I'll experiment with chocolate fudge sauce on sausages".

My issues with standard Christianity will come later, as I have a more important thing to deal with you people about first.

How exactly do you rationalize the idea that God/Jesus are fine with you experimenting with non-biblical spirituality, spirits and occultism, when the bible specifically prohibits it as the domain of witchcraft, leading to Satan?
#16
What is all this exactly? I don't understand how it fits into things. Why must I believe in such karma? I don't wish to pray, I don't wish to beg for gifts in desperation. I do like to love... but not to force myself to love something I hate when there is nothing likeable about it.

What is positive energy, as opposed to negative? What's all this gobblely gook I keep hearing about? I want to learn about energy, power, healing, sensitivity, NOT goodness. I may choose to be good, but I want to choose it, not have it insisted upon.

Now is this site about real evolution, or nagging bleeding heart brainwashing?

I was circulating around my right hand pretty much on my own (not really following the exercises) and when I got to going down on the middle finger side of my forefinger, when I went to the big knuckle a flash of red suddenly flashed across my vision, so I stopped.

I normally wouldn't take much from it, but I DO crack my knuckles a lot, and have been getting pains in my fingers from a combination of that, typing, and lack of rest. It's usually more in the ring than the fore though, so it's probably just my imagination.

I've been doing some reading and some thinking... and it seems to me that even just reading about chakras seems to influence them. Heck, even if you don't know which is which, in a way chakras are just conceptual tools, and the thoughts end up there anyway.

By thinking about them, or being naturally sensitive to emotions, I believe chakra work is done. Many people who come to NEW, I have a feeling are slightly imbalanced or outcasts (I know I fit both bills). Such feelings drive one desperately to seek answers and experimentation with themselves. As such, that would imply some kind of chakric imbalances, that should perhaps be fixed through simple neutral awareness of positive and negative chakral feelings.

I think that these should preclude one's concentration on the secondary and tertiary circuits. Better yet, work alongside one. If one's emotions are distracting them from NEW, it can be difficult to begin working with them, as one might get sad/angry/delusionally happy about any possible results, which would get in the way of performing an impartial analysis on the results.

As far as I can tell, NEW seems to advise rest until one can work, to wait until the person has enough energy to work again. This would work eventually, but it might interfere with their life a bit, and even more blockages might be caused. If what I've read about chakras is right, I have a LOT of big blocks, mainly in the lower three.

I realize putting off chakra work is a good general standpoint for Robert Bruce to have, as it stops people from getting obsessed with working them to change their emotions, but if the work is slow and minor, I think it could still work better than ignoring them totally until you've done enough NEW lessons. While it may take more energy to do so, the boost after dealing with the problems might work better. I guess it depends on how along you are, and your natural tendencies.

I might post this in Q&A later, but I'm still waiting for a response to a prior topic. Until then, hopefully people can discuss this here.

These seem like aids to the brain to develop certain states of mind, and to do certain things.

They are things that definitely should be tested.

Yet they are things that should not always be used. Perhaps they are  used to improve perhaps they may be used to enhance.

In the first case, one must try without them to be sure that it is they that are improving, and not their reaction to it.

In the second case, if they only enhance, one must train alone to improve by self so it is not a crutch.

I am not sure which case it is, opinions may vary.

Welcome to Book Reviews! / Meditation and Dreamwork
November 25, 2004, 01:23:30
I bought this book at Coles, and have read most of the exercises in it. Despite what's on the cover, she slowly edges into several other things you might not fully expect.

She deals with chakras, and begins working with them almost immediately in the meditation section, after encouraging simple meditation topics and good guidelines to accessorizing meditation by sounds/scents/crystals/whatever.

There is a HUGE section on guides, and I really didn't like this. First off, even though she says they're optional, the last section of the book, 'putting it all together', depends on them a LOT, as well as a lot of chakra work.

She says to trust all spirits and guides, that all guides are good, and to never question them, as even a potato farmer who never experimented with psychic abilities in his life will have greater powers than we to help ourselves.

All in all, the 'spiritual guides' section makes her seem pretty stupid to me. I don't know, apparently a lot of people around here swear by spirits, but I have to see it and feel it and hear it to believe it. I want Independence, not reliance on spirits.

If I meet a spirit, I'm just as likely going to want to try fighting it or enslaving it than to ask it nicely to guide me around. If a guide can't kick my butt or deal with me in an insightful manner that causes me to drop my attack, I don't see what I can learn from it.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Golden Cauldron

Who's heard of this? Apparently it's for changing your inner you, shamans use it and some of those Taoists interested in immortality with the whole golder elixir thing... and to astrally project there's some heart-fire that steams the water and you float out through the top chakra on it to meet spirits.

Welcome to Healing discussions! / Oy my back
November 23, 2004, 12:29:53
I'm something like 5'11" or 6'0". I'm not incredibly muscular, so honestly, I'd point a healthy weight at somewhere from 165-180. Right now I'm approaching 190, which is probably a result of me being out of martial arts and eating a bit more (yay food-wasting family!). This means tighter pants which tinkle me off to no end, and lately I'm wondering if some pain in my lower back is from that, or just because I'm flexing it too much from doing yoga poses and stuff.

Anyway, since I'm not one to diet (it's bad for your heart and your muscles deteriorate without sustenance), what are some things I can eat or do (other than green tea and exercise because I know about those) to slim out a bit.

It's either that, or maybe the extra weight is in my legs because I do an awful lot of squats and hopping around... but if that were the case I'd be more defined and I don't think I am... even if my legs are rock hard.
#23
Would that be considered a form of it? It seems so, even if it's thought with feeling more than thought.
#24
Are things like that also discussed on one of these boards? Since they all seem to involve some sort of energy related to bodily functions I'm guessing NEW is the most appropriate board...

Does anyone know the best sources for getting into these?
#25
This is somewhat interesting, while not Christian myself I was wondering what some of you Christians thought of this...

What is everyone's opinion of Satanism (meaning what was defined in the Satanic Bible by Anton La Vey)? Is anyone here a Satanist? If you do or do not like it, why? I'll post my own response to this soon after some others do so it will be neutral.

I have reeeeeally bad acne. I know a lot of people do. I personally, now wash my face frequently (not scrubbing), and use medication for it.

I'd like to know any personal advice people can give me regarding acne (as well as acne scarring from the many many many zits I always pop), as well as personal experiences from those who suffer similarly.

Welcome to Dreams! / The Dream Hag
November 11, 2004, 15:25:20
I wrote down everything I remembered when I woke up in my journal, so I'll paste it in here. It's honestly sort of a blur now. I tried following up on it but I couldn't have the dream again to confront it. Any idea what might have caused it? By the way, I apologize in advance, I tend to be a bit vocal in my person journal, and I'm not sure if swearing is allowed... since I'm not insulting anyone personally... if there's a problem I'll black it out. I'll edit out what I can.

- - -

I went to bed earlier tonight, which meant I was in a shallow enough sleep to be woken up during a nightmare. I seriously now understand the purpose of the mind forgetting the dreams it does during the night.

It started off innocently enough. Some friends and I were manning a martial arts studio, and when a bunch of old people came (guess it was one for seniors) we were giving out pieces of paper with things written in big letters, sort of like doctor's notes or something but in reverse, which didn't make any sense. It's like your gym teacher giving you a slip telling your doctor you don't have to go. I'm not sure who was with me, I never saw anyone, just felt a general Ferris Bueler sense of ridicule, and that there was no isolation.

This ended when it the slips reversed to go the right way... and an old woman brought in a slip... which seemed strange to me. It wasn't an excuse though... it was a letter. A long one. As I read the letter, I noticed her edging toward me. The most I can remember is some crazy excrement like "my mother became a transsexual and moved to florida..." and then some details about how she needed money or something which I don't know how it was worded.

I was trapped... it was like I couldn't run away, my feet were frozen. This old woman...she may have had a hand on my arm but that wasn't what was holding me there. She said in this pitiful tone... "-anky!" (not sure what, sounded like Spanky! wherever that's from but it wasn't it, or maybe it was) and then....god I don't know what she did. It was like she was eating me...it was like she was biting my arm and chest and side at the same time but I didn't feel any teeth... I actually didn't even feel any gums... just like she was sucking me in, the entire side of me, it felt squishy and numb and it was being engulfed by this creature (it wasn't by just the mouth anymore... it's difficult to explain, I don't even really think I can picture it. It was the FEELING. God I still remember that feeling... totally a tactile nightmare) which didn't even make any sense at all... I was given a chance to go back a couple seconds and stop her before she started... so I tried stroking her hair gently and soothingly so I could quickly grab it to pull her head back, so she couldn't do this, to break her spell. It didn't work... and I had no more chances... then I woke up.

I swear, I don't think I could breath for about five to ten seconds before I let out a gasp of ended paralysis... This is seriously freaky. I don't think it had as much absolute terror and paralysis as the spider dream... but the sheer sense of violation and actually being CONSUMED and ... the wrongness of the whole thing... just makes it a lot worse for me. This isn't just some natural nightmare you'd have from being in a strange place, of a creature that's a natural terror to kids (face it, I like tiny spiders but I doubt I could play so easily with a huge 5ft one dripping venom from huge fangs). Now that I think about it... her hair... and maybe even some of her face... was just like my recently passed Aunt's. I was the paulbearer... excrement... f'ing freaky dream... this isn't a wake up in sweat nightmare... just wake up in helplessness. It wasn't terror that held me still... it was the old woman's power... I couldn't even scream, I couldn't shudder, I had no blanket to hide under.

I notice there are two forms. From what I got from skimming, Donnie Hackenson's seems to be more of a point form version, and contain slightly different exercises...

In any form, NEW seems like just what I need to get into practicing psychic, dream and magic abilities, since it would provide a slow bridge into awareness, rather than the explosion of concentration or emotion which most other systems demand. This fits well with Bruce's explanation of the lesser Chakras being engaged before the major ones. In one book I read, it mentioned there being lesser chakra, but them being rather unimportant. I figured they must have some importance... but obviously they couldn't be as strong as the major chakra, so it would be more of a refinement of sensitivity. Refinement of sensitivity is sort of what you need to begin with, isn't it? So, I turn to this as an introductory option.

What I'd like to now, and I've put it into poll form, is the best way, based upon your opinion (and backing it up too would be nice), is how the simplified version compares to the original one, and perhaps any advice you'd like to volunteer to a beginning student.

In the case of the last poll option, could someone tell me how the eight lessons compare to the thirteen different pages on Robert Bruce's writings?
