Welcome to Astral Chat! / The missing chopstick

I'm not purposely ignoring anybody right now and it keeps hitting me how I miss so many of my buddies on here. I guess I should give a heads up as to what has been going on. I got a dog and I loved her to pieces. A beautiful Great Pyrenees. I took her to get spayed a month ago and the machine was not calibrated correctly so they killed her. My heart ached and even now a month later I'm still dealing with the different departments... I originally didn't want another dog, but so many people encouraged me. But nothing could replace my baby. But I fell in love with my new baby too. I took him to get neutered a few days ago and I was weeping with happiness when I picked him up and he was still alive. The next day he slid out of his collar because my husband put it on wrong and he has been gone for days. I have torn the neighborhood apart, even getting the help of sniffer dogs. Even the small bit I'm asleep I try to see if I can find where he is, but it hasn't helped. I can't lose him too. My heart just can't handle this all at once. Please think good thoughts. I need all the help I can get.

Okay, so either the title doesn't quite match the topic or the topic doesn't quite match the title. I just couldn't think of anything better.

I had an experience last night where I was fully aware and was in my usual form (which has wings/can fly). Flying is really nothing new to me. As usual, everything mimicked the physical, as in Earth physics applied. I gotta work to fly! No floating for me! I love it, though. So, I was up high on something, like a building. A good several floors up. I walked to the edge and looked down. I thought about diving straight down then got terrible vertigo. I suddenly thought "Who? Me? Vertigo? I know I can freaking fly!"

That got me contemplating and wondering the source of the sudden fear. It certainly wasn't debilitating, but it did come as a surprise. I thought back on my previous times flying. Sometimes I do get the vertigo feeling, but as I get more confident and more experience, it has been going away. I thought about the first time I had taken off from somewhere high, it had been terrifying. But after a few times it wasn't scary... that was, if I jumped and started flying horizontally. This was pretty new. I was going to dive straight down. But even then, I had done that before... And from even higher without the fear.

I decided to try it anyways. I mean, what would it hurt? Then I realized what was scary about it... While it looked like I had enough time to safely pull up, I actually didn't have enough time. Well, I managed it, but it wasn't very pleasant. It's not a fun feeling to touch the ground while trying to pull out of a dive. Not fun... GAHHH! I was still alright and actually was impressed with the height I was getting when I flew afterwards.

So, that fear was completely legitimate... Diving too close to the ground is a bad idea!!!

Anyone else have a time you tried to "face a fear" then it kind of blow up at you? Like, it was for a reason and you should have just listened to it? hehe

My dream began with three teens, two boys and a girl. At first I was a brown haired boy. We were turned into animals and told a mission we needed to complete. Rescue someone from a building down the street. So, the boy I was was some kind of a bird. I remember flying down the street, then changing perspectives to the other boy who had black hair who was a raven. I flew the rest of the way there and landed in front of the door. Now, I didn't have hyper clarity for this one as I usually have when turning into animals, so I did feel a bit detached as I was the raven. I didn't have as much awareness and feeling as say when I was an owl. But it was still cool. I found that I wasn't walking... I was hopping. Haha!!

I tried to stay out of sight by the floor. I got in, I think through a window or maybe when the door was open. It was kind of like a doctor's office. Tile floor, white walls. Little rooms with people in them. Or maybe a dentist. I couldn't tell. I weaved in and out of feet. There were quite a few people there... Eventually, I had to flutter up on top of some filing cabinets and I freaked out a woman who worked there. She thought I was like flying into her hair or something and started swinging at me. I was able to escape. Eeks.

I ended up going through the whole building to where there was like a security guard... It wasn't hard, I just hopped by behind his desk. Inside a closet was the old man I was sent to rescue. He was caged and his hands were tied with rope. I fluttered up to him and started biting the rope to get it loose. He was thanking me immensely. I didn't take too long until he was free and was able to escape.

My other dream was where I was the one who was being saved. I was pretty oblivious the whole time and it was only after I woke up that I realized what was going on. I was a kid and I was in my usual form. There was like... this crazy scientist guy. I don't really have memory of what initially happened, but I remember that I was confused and was having trouble walking at first. Like, it was really hard to stand up. Perhaps I had just been changed and had to learn how to walk again, but without memory, who knows. Now, keep in mind that I was completely oblivious. Someone, perhaps who worked for the scientist was upset and wanted to rescue me and escape. This character was not influenced by myself.

We were on a really big ship. Kind of like a cruise ship, but not really fancy. There were large cargo areas. I remember at one point I was snatched up by the person and carried to one of the cargo areas. I didn't really have any fear... it was all a game to me. The guy that was rescuing me, though, was sweating, heart pounding, trying to catch his breath. He told me that I needed to hide and whatever I did, not to come out and show myself to anyone. He would come back for me. There was a rope that hung down from above. He told me to climb up there then pull the rope up with me. I wasn't sure I could do it, but I said I would try. He pat me on the head and ran.

Now, clarity was very high in this one. And this part was very entertaining. I started pulling myself up with my arms, but I was having trouble getting a grip with my feet because obviously they weren't the same anymore. I tried grabbing on with my toes, catching the rope with my claws... Sometimes just missing the rope entirely. Eventually, the rope went between my middle toes then I gripped on with my claws. Yay problem solving! It kept me from sliding and kept the rope taunt for my next step. I noticed at the top that it was kind of like a mobile at the top. There was a thin metal pole that came down that branched horizontally with another long pipe. Because I was so heavy on one side, the other was risen far into the air. The whole thing slowly spun, but I wasn't scared. I just waited for it to spin to the top of one of the stacked cargo holds and I jumped on. You know, the ones they stack on barges and cargo ships. Like the man told me, I pulled up the rope.

Eventually people came looking for me, but I listened to the guy and didn't make a sound. Once again, I was oblivious to how hostile they sounded. I just waited and waited... Until I think I woke up. I hope the guy was alright.

Funny, I was the one being retrieved? haha!

I did a doodle of climbing because it was kinda neat.

I've been staying the past few nights in hotels while traveling Japan and this funny bit happened this morning. My hubby woke me for breakfast and I wasn't hungry so I stayed laying down to fall back asleep. But I didn't lose consciousness to my knowledge. (instead I went straight into a false awakening. But my hubby actually had woken me up to go to breakfast in the physical.). I heard him getting ready and I eventually changed my mind. I got up to go with him and stayed in my PJs. He had already gone down, but I wanted to tell him to get me something. I got there and stood with him in line. Some people speaking Japanese cut in front of us, but we just kind of nudged back in front of them. Breakfast wasn't very impressive, but not bad. I started heading back to the room and I woke up for real. Ugh... He had gone back to sleep too and neither of us went to breakfast. I even asked him. Darn you false awakening!!!! Had me wandering around the hotel! haha!

As soon as my head hit the pillow again, I phased right into a dream, though the detail was astounding and used a "template" of the surrounding area outside as well as the hotel. It actually even stared right where the false awakening left off, but now it was much more dream like in elements. Back at the hotel room, I discovered my hubby had a secret base where he had a TV station. He was sending the signal into a country that was brainwashed and had the truth of the world hidden from them. Sounds a bit like North Korea, no? Which he has an unnatural fascination with coincidentally. However, on the screen it displayed Japanese characters. One of the random bits of conversation was that he was playing a segment about the conspiracy of Lennon's death at the moment. I didn't even know there was a conspiracy about it, but I guess there can be a conspiracy for everything. I was really worried for him and at one point people tried to break in. I changed into a Renaissance type outfit because there was a costume party outside (run by my old high school?). Oh well, I went out and recognized some people. However the costume party was like... all poodle skirts. A good "friend" there I didn't recognize. Well, I did in the dream, but not outside the dream. He was blonde and wasn't fat, but a bit heavyset, especially in the chin/neck. He was also a cross dresser. Pulled off the dress quite well, too. I felt kind of out of place in what I was wearing, but he told me that I looked stunning. Really? haha! I felt ridiculous. There were tents out for the festival kind of thing complete with carnival games. At one point I was sitting in a tent chatting with a few people I knew. Someone told me that my elf ears looked cute with my costume and asked if I got them at a ren fair. What? I wasn't wearing ears. I felt them and they were long, reacting with my emotions and such. It seems I haven't gotten over my spontaneous form changing that's been going on recently. I knew what was going on and started freaking out a little. I made up an excuse and started making my way back to my hotel room. I came across my "friend" and he waved me to join him. I told him it was an emergency and had to go. He asked what was wrong out of concern and I couldn't say. Seriously... These experiences just keep getting clearer and clearer. Not just visuals, but I am remembering physical sensations in full detail. Feeling my tail under the dress, my teeth and nails, the awkward moments when it's kind of hard to walk. There were people in the hallway when I got to the hotel. There wasn't really too much hiding a this point. I ran... no, actually I bounded. Running on all fours down the hallway, even making rebounds off the walls. Freaking cool feeling. I made it to the hotel room and I was panting from the run. I entered and my "friend" was there. Yeah, I was a bit confused how he go there that fast. He was trying to get me to tell him what was wrong. At least I had on a long dress. I'm not sure what went on with my wings. I didn't really notice them or think about them until a bit later. I apologized that I couldn't tell him and as we talked, I carefully threw on some jeans under my dress. Usually I don't remember clothes at all... so that alone was pretty wild. Maybe I didn't want to fly in a dress... Don't judge me. :P I was eyeing the window during this (which was exactly like the physical one). No screen and 16 floors up. Big enough to jump through. The funny thing... I couldn't pull my pants all the ay up because of my tail. Der... Then I made a break for the window and it freaked him out. I opened it and jumped out, spreading my wings to fly. Yup... Then I woke up. At least I wasn't sleep walking.

This night had a good mix/balance of everything in it. Dreaming, projecting, false awakenings, and what was some sort of test. I also got to fly as an owl which was flipping awesome! I find that this is more relevant in the Astral Projection section verses dreams since most of the experience was at a higher awareness. Goodie goodie, tests!

The experience started as a dream where I was walking around my old college campus. I wont go into details.

The dream then took a completely different turn. As in, I turned into an owl. Specifically, I knew that I was male now. I've always wanted to be some sort of bird and fly with feathered wings. It was quite the experience! But I would have my time flying later. I flew by one of the dorms and saw a Fennec fox. Curious, I flew close to it and it flipped out, snarling at me. Laughing, I flew back to the cafeteria. I landed on the branches of a tree and decided to talk to someone below. It must have been telepathically because my beak didn't move and I didn't make a sound, but the girl below knew what I was saying. Needless to say she got kind of freaked out, but also thought it was pretty cool. I know knew my home to be back at my apartment complex which was a short distance away (as the owl) so I started flying that direction.

When I noticed that the edge of the lake was natural and not the usual developed side walk, I realized that I was dreaming. This broke the perception that I was an owl and I was now my human self flying through the air along the lake. I was a little excited to be seeing my college area in the non physical. Kind of a complacent excited. That's enough to call Astral Projection for me. But still, I felt it fading. I stopped in the air and started rubbing my hands together, but it faded into a false awakening for some reason. I thought I was awake, but I was in a very different location back in America. I focused back on being over the lake and it came back in full clarity. The colors in the sky were beautiful...

That's where the experience became intense. I was the owl guy again. But now I was some sort of body guard secret agent. My personality was a complete shift from my usual dream personality. I was somewhat of a coward. Actually a huge coward. But I also knew I had an important job. As I flew back to the apartment, I remembered seeing unusual bat activity, whatever that means. They were taking an interest in watching children and they were acting suspicious. Not owl children, human children. The college was replaced with a forest where there was a human camp for kids. There was a treaty between the owls and the bats that the bats would not harm the children. Yeah, I'm aware of how strange that sounds. As an owl, I didn't live in the apartment like a human. There were smaller rooms higher up. I lived in one of those. Genius, really. It wasn't very spacious, but what really do owls need? It was still decorated quite nice. I heard a messenger come by. A cat. I had a feeling they were summoning me for work and it made me queasy thinking about it so I tried to keep them from opening my door, even jamming the lock as they tried to unlock it. I eventually lost and was told I needed to protect our leader. Just great... Flying to the meeting was quite the experience. Feeling the wind through my feathers, it was very different compared with how I usually fly. Different feeling. Especially as an owl. So smooth. I flew high over everything, enjoying myself. I even sang a song. I remember it was beautiful and had wonderful lyrics, but I forget it all now.

When I arrived, it was not weird to me that everyone took human form. Like I said before, I was a guy. Short brown hair, average height. A little on the thin side, but not like physical me. It was set up kind of like the inside of an airplane. Chairs lined the sides with an aisle between. Our leader for some reason took the form of Morgan Freeman. My seat was next to him. There were probably about 12 others seated as well. I was between the leader and a crazy looking bat girl. Her long frizzy dark hair was pulled back, but some strands were missed. She had devious looking eyes and she was terrifying me. She decided to have some fun scaring me. She asked if she knew about the secret society of assassins. I did. The members were insane, all of hem, and hey relished killing. I asked why she asked. She leaned in close and told me "What fun would it be to share secrets?" She also placed a pocket knife kind of thing in my hand. Big bulky thing and the blade was out. It barely pressed against my hand and it cut my skin, indicating how sharp it was. The thing terrified me because it had the insignia of the assassins on it. I say pocket knife, but this thing was really big for one. The blade was several inches long. I folded it up and looked at her. She smiled and winked, playing with her hair. "Just showing my good intentions." She was now unarmed, but that didn't make me feel any better.

The meeting started and I helped testify, still holding the pocket knife. The bats argued that suspicion was not enough to show that they overstepped the treaty and such. All the while the crazy assassin girl kept smiling at me. I suddenly had a terrible feeling. Without thinking, I shouted and threw the pocket knife away from myself and the leader. It exploded and I found myself coughing and waving away the smoke. Everyone stated moving around in a mad rush. I shouted for our leader to get out of there. He responded that he couldn't move because of his hip. He was injured somehow. What?? I pushed forward to defend him while a team moved in to get him. I noticed the still in tact pocket knife and dove for it at the same time as the crazy assassin girl. This whole time I had the internal dialogue of omgomgomgomgomg I'm gonna die! I was terrified!!!

I still managed to grab it first and open the blade which I knew was sharp enough to slice through skin and muscle without much effort. The girl went into psycho mode. I kept warning her to stay back, but it was like she was ready to go after our leader with her bare hands. I was horrified as she tried to get by me because it meant that I cut her. I didn't want to cut her. But it was like she didn't care that she was being cut by the blade. I wont go into too much detail about it, but it was more than what I've wanted to see. She fell back out of sight and I hoped that she was gone for good. I asked someone how our leader was injured and they said that if I looked under his seat I would understand. It was a self triggered gun aimed up to kill himself if he needed to avoid capture. He didn't believe I would be able to defend him so he had tried to kill himself. The irony that our leader had injured himself. I walked to the back and I saw everyone huddled around a tent where they were performing emergency surgery on him. It didn't sound good. I went back to the meeting area and I noticed a kind of belt that went along the floor. The machinery kind of made its own music. I'm trying to remember its importance, but I knew it had to keep on going. Maybe we actually were in a plane? Who knows, but knew mission was to keep it running. Crazy girl, bleeding all over the place, lodged the gears with a rope and panicked, I ran to try and pull it out, asking for help, but no one came. For a while and I was pulling on it like my life depended on it. Finally that crisis was averted, but his whole experience was trying on my mind. I was starting to lose it. After all, I didn't have my usual dream personality. I was terrified this entire time.

I had the knife out. Crazy woman and another woman was there too. She was also a bat. Short black hair. She held out her hands indicating that she was unarmed. I was shaking and kept saying that I didn't want to hurt anyone, but I would if I had to. The new girl kept getting closer. She kept telling me that everything was alright. It was over now. As she got closer, I kept trying to decide if she was a threat, all while staring at the crazy girl who was smiling at me like a sadist. I broke down crying, but weapon still drawn as she hugged me. It was all over now and I did a good job.

It faded into another false awakening. I knew so because I heard my mom and my brother. I was laying on my back under the covers debating whether or not I should get up. My mom was saying something to my brother about turning down the AC or something. Then I woke up for real on my side back in China.

That was nuts!

Now I suppose once I rose my awareness, and since I did so while already asleep, the test was comprised of the elements already present. I passed and after waking up it was awesome, but while it was happening I was literally in hysterics even the "players" trying to calm me down afterwards.

Have you ever encountered someone you know in the non physical and it feels so real that you wonder if they have any recollection of it at all? I saw someone I knew. I remember seeing him in high school before, but we never talked until a reunion once. All I really know is that he works on films and the fact that he showed up out of no were was really weird. I also feel a little bad because I made him feel like he was tripping balls batshit crazy. I kind of want to ask, but a big part of me is telling me that's a very BAD idea, haha! I don't know, maybe just for shiggles. I have not labeled this as a dream because it was very different in that it felt just like reality, the level of detail was astounding without the ream like air to it, and the people I encountered acted very independent. The clarity was astounding.

I was at a school and I found myself turned into a fox. I believe the first time was on purpose. But I specifically remember that my clothes didn't change with me so that probably caused most of the problem.

I ran outside and the grass was so green... lots of willows. It reminded me of the Summer Palace here in China. Most of the students of various ages were outside. I walked around exploring, but ended up being noticed. Mistaken for a dog with big ears, a few little kids tried to chase me. I ran away and actually right up a tree. "Is that a dog or a cat?" a kid asked. "It's a fox," a tall guy answered. I recognized him as someone I know. He's just starting out in the film industry and while I saw him in high school, we never really met until a reunion. Very interesting person. He got the kids to leave me alone and I ran somewhere secluded so I could change back. Bits of thorns and burs got stuck in my human palms and I started pulling them out. It stung and was kind of irritating. Why that would happen I had no idea. I had to change back because kids were coming and... well... I was naked.

Walking along the side of the school, I started looking for a way in. The outside doors were too heavy for me. As I walked towards the front I noticed my dad entering from the front of the school and I assumed he came to pick me up. Uh oh... Gotta get in. I could see through the glass at the room that had my clothes and yep... there they were in the corner.

I had an idea and I ran back to the kids outside. The tall guy could help me. I ran up to him and jumped around him getting his attention. He thought it was very weird, but the kids were amazed. He started walking back to the school and I followed right beside him. Yeah, he was majorly weirded out, but I don't think he minded either. He actually felt kind of special. He was talking to the kids as he walked and one of his comments kind of irked me, but  can't remember it now. Maybe something about how I must have been someone's pet and he was going to try and find my owner.

He had to go to a tutoring class so he was going to leave me in a classroom while he was there. Jerk! But really, he didn't know any better. At least I was inside now. I pounced up onto the door knob and managed to force it open. In the hallway... I went to the room with my clothes and there were a bunch of kids in there cleaning the room. ugh!!! One of them thought I was a kitty. They scooped me up and it's not like I could hurt her or anything. I just kind of had to put up with it. She dragged me outside to play with her friends and I wiggled to escape. One kid had a spray bottle of some sort of foam and sprayed me, oh man, I was ticked! It had the consistency of shaving cream, but I think it was some sort of soap. After being all lathered up, I smacked the can away and snarled, scaring the kid. The other ones were unfazed and sprayed me with a hose to get it off. I looked like a drowned rat and looked so tiny and thin with all my fur stuck close to my body. I shook and my fur and it stuck out like crazy. The kids all laughed as I did it. Now I know how my dog feels when I wash him.

I escaped, running away. Horrible children! I dried pretty quickly because I was outside and decided to try and get inside again. A bunch of kids were playing by an open door so I ran over trying to get in. There were a bunch of dogs, though mostly smaller than me. I nipped at them, keeping them away and ran inside. I slid right into my dog. He was bigger than me by a long shot. I was thinking oh crap, he was going to chase me, but he actually recognized me. Growling to keep the other dogs away, he was actually protecting me, which was awesome.

I ran past the kids and back into the hallway, looking for the tall guy from before. Still in tutoring. Darn! I needed to get him out of there! Looking around along the wall, I tried to find a way to set the fire alarm off. That would get everyone out. Climbing up to a higher ledge on the wall, I made it high enough to one of the sensors. Because I was a kisune, I knew I could make fire from my tail(s). Yeah, it was like my previous dream. Physically it looked like I had one tail, but non physically I actually had more than one that I could see kind of like out of the corner of my eye. I rubbed them together and made a bright red flame, setting off the alarm. Things got crazy and everyone started running around to get out. The tall guy noticed me again and it was almost like he knew it was me who set off the alarm.

The guy started to get suspicious that I wasn't just a normal fox. This was good for me because I realized that I couldn't change back, and I couldn't talk. I had a running commentary in my head, but I couldn't share it with anyone. That didn't stop me from trying to communicate with that guy. I had his attention. Of course it sounded like I was just barking. Eventually he started guessing by asking yes or no questions and I would not or shake my head back. The poor guy thought he was tripping. He ended up taking me in his car and started driving to Beijing. Somehow I had expressed that I wanted to go home and that was in Beijing. I was going to somehow communicate Changping as we go closer. Yeah. Apparently in the dream we were some distance away from Beijing because I remember going through the checkpoint to get into the district.

I think I made it home, but the guy thought he was crazy. It makes me really want to bring it up to him, but like I said before, we only talked to each other once at a reunion.

Welcome to Dreams! / Pirate Captain of Monsters
March 21, 2013, 02:21:39
Had a wild dream last night I might turn into a book because it was such an interesting concept.

I was the captain of a sort of pirate ship kind of thing. I had a crew and we were traveling somewhere across the ocean. The water was so blue and looked like crystal. We were attacked by my nemesis. Yes, I had a nemesis. They attacked the ship, but I knew they were more after me than anything else. My nemesis was a pretty big guy. Maybe even a hook for a hand. Full bearded. Very pirate like. I was a human girl. Why do I specify that? Because my crew was almost entirely not human. I'll elaborate later. I was tossed from my ship and cast into the water. A few members of my crew actually saved me. I would have drowned. On the shore, I said that I had given up the sea. What was left of my crew was so upset.. Yeah, not human. I got a pep talk from some sort of bard that was part of my crew. He was sort of like a Dracula like vampire. My crew was an array of monsters! With a young human girl as their captain. Call me crazy. It was hard for them to cheer me up, but they kept on encouraging me to not give up. The vampire's home wasn't too far so we would regroup there where they wished for me to regroup a crew then head to the docks to commandeer another ship.

At the Vampire's house, I met his wife who totally made a comment about how he should only go if his salary was raised. Another monster commented that he only plays music and sings so why would that be worth the same as hard labor. His wife was tall, thin, and kind of a stickler.

At one point my perspective changed. I was a fairy locked up with a bunch of other ones. I knew I was actually very small because everything around me was so large. A man had us... Raven Thornblood, was it? I'm always terrible at remembering names. I was a male fairy and actually wasn't incredibly fairy like, though I had the wings and was like a little person. He wanted the other me to break them out and he would show off his awesome powers and use them to help us on our quest.

The other me eventually broke them free and the fairy I was before transformed... into a little budgie. Yeah, those here his awesome powers. Turning into a parakeet. Well, I had my pirate parrot now!

Somewhere along the lines, I got really ticked and motivated to go back to the ocean and stop my nemesis. It was a much wider scale that he was effecting, not just me. As we were running to the ship, we were being chased by werewolves. As we were just about there, I got bit in the arm, tearing my thick jacket. It was actually a werefox specifically, not wolf. Safe on the ship, I assured that it had only gotten my jacket, but I knew it had bit me. And off we sailed.

This is sort of an abridged version. There was a lot going on there and it'll take me a while to sort it all out, haha

I've been having retrievals and the like like crazy recently varying from every other day to two at night. I haven't been sharing them all, but this one was especially wild so I wanted to share. Especially because I have ALWAYS wanted to fly up into space from the planet. Granted, I was under the belief that everything was normal on account of the type of experience, but it was still amazing!

I can joke and call this one an anti retrieval, haha! Rather than retrieving someone I helped return them.

Pretty much, I was visiting a planet and I came across a creature that wasn't supposed to be there. It was on another planet! I found out later on that its home was pretty much on the other side of the galaxy! It was kind of like some sort of blueish looking creature that looked almost like it was a clear plastic with a blue inside that kind of lit up. I was actually a child. Small enough to fit in my hand. I didn't see a problem taking it home, but rather than taking a ship, I went quite literally myself.

Floating up into the air, I zoomed through the atmosphere and into space. It was such a wild feeling and really didn't take much time at all. In a few moments I could travel to another solar system. The only thing I can really compare it to is kind of like the game spore when you can zoom from being on a planet and out.

I took the little creature by several planets looking for its home. Each planet was unique and the colors were so interesting, though of course I've lost the details on them. I picked up information on our travels that its planet was on the other side of the galaxy. Well, I said I would take it home, so that's what I was going to do.

Now, crossing he galaxy was incredibly wild because I lost my physical form. I could see the galaxy and how it was spinning. I kind of got pulled into the spin and waited for the right time to jump to the area I wanted to go. Wild.

Well, I got the little guy home! haha! It was surprising because his daddy was actually huge and intimidating.

I wish I could remember the details about the planets. I know one had an orange sky. There was tall grass and it was green, but an odd shade, kind of like sea foam. The buildings were rounded and I remember seeing very high above me some sort of bridge or overpass.

Another planet was dark and kind of swampy. I'm trying to dig for more details, but they're long gone... :/

Oh well, awesome experience!

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Psychonauts
March 16, 2013, 12:48:09
So... I started playing this video game and it is hilarious! The characters look like they're right from a Picasso painting and you can really see the creativity that went into it.

Basically you're this kid with psychic abilities that runs away to a psychic summer camp to learn how to develop his abilities. It's run by a complete warmonger and the first lesson in the class is for the students to astrally project themselves into his mind for an obstacle course. Now while in this guy's mind it's like a dreamscape of a chaotic battle zone. Your health is pretty much mental clarity and when you run out you get booted back to your body.

I've only played a little so far, but the characters are a riot, the design is awesome, the dialogue is having me giggle like crazy, and the plot is looking promising. I'm excited to play more! There's tons of references in it that remind me of you guys. xD Too funny!

My husband keeps laughing at me because I ran into an enemy... Freaking PSYCHIC BEARS. What the crap?!?! Seriously?! I keep yelling "Freaking PSYCHIC BEARS!" haha!

I've certainly been getting these more than usual. I haven't been sharing all of them because I don't want to clutter. But this one was exceptionally strange (and not to mention, painful!!! >_<) Do you guys feel very realistic pain in your experiences? I guess because I'm so wrapped up in believing it's my reality, I expect it to hurt.

Last night I was in my usual form and I don't know exactly how to describe the place I was at. It had some sort of cafeteria because I saw a bunch of people sitting at a bar getting food. I wasn't allowed to get any, but was eventually given some steak-like meat, but it was undercooked and kind of nasty so I left it there.

It was a place where people, mostly elemental in spirit or possessing some sort of powers were. They would go out and complete missions and help others. Who went was determined by fighting between each other. Kind of like a mix between gladiator and wrestling. There were weapons that could be utilized, but it was one on one. The winner gained rank.

I saw a friend of mine who was there for just that evening then would need to leave again. I went to where they would stay, so kind of like a dorm in the vastly intricate building. I think their element was electricity. I think it is important to note that I did not have an element or power. We barely started talking when a girl interrupted us, acting all chummy with my friend. She was an Earth element and told me to get lost. She made a comment on how I never qualified to leave, was weak, and I wasn't worth her time. She wanted to hang out with my friend and wanted me to leave. My friend didn't put up any challenge against her, giving in.

Finding this pretty irritating, I challenged her. She was just being flat out rude and I didn't appreciate it. We went outside to an area people wouldn't be able to watch. She thought it was because I wanted to save the embarrassment of being whooped. Not at all. When we started, I grabbed something kind of like a mace (but very blunt) and knocked her to the ground. Surprised, she turned herself into a stone for defense. I swung the mace over my head for the most force and swung it down with all my might. After a few, the stone shattered and she changed back into a person, lowering herself into a hole in the ground doing who knows what.

Tossing the mace to the side, I pounced at her. I kept my punches to a minimum, only trying to disable her. I remember grappling her being especially careful not to cut her with my talons. She was so shocked asking why I never was sent out into the world if I could do that. I'm not quite sure exactly why, but I would hide my ability. I wouldn't flaunt it about. She faked that she was giving in then took the opportunity to start setting charges. Yeah, she was setting explosive charges.

Yanking her tighter in the grapple, I dragged her away and completely immobilized her until it started hurting her. Finally she gave in and I let go. She was so embarrassed and flustered... She stomped off. No one had watched us. But I think I gained her respect.

Later on, she had invited me somewhere, saying that it was very important. There was something fowl going on and I was one of the only people who could help. We went to where there was kind of like a big pool. She did something to trigger an opening in the tiled wall and we entered. We immediately noticed the dark room was filled with... well... rat people. The girl shrieked and the rat people started looking aggressive. I hissed at her to be quiet and walked forward. My wings flared out a little bit and I spoke very softly, telling them that it was alright and we were there to help them. They calmed down and I noticed that a lot of them were bleeding and hurt, having been stabbed by sharp needle like things. There was a computer panel on the other side of the room. As we started walking over there, the needles shot out of the side of the room and turned me into a pin cushion. OH it was painful!

I had gotten the worst of it, but the girl with me had gotten a few too. We reached the control panel and had to fix it under any cost. The needles had pierces our skin like it was paper. I took a few moments to pull the most painful of them out. The worst was probably one that had gone clean through my finger and nail. Trying to pull it lose, my nail started to get torn off. UGH! THE PAIN! It was also very clear that where I pulled out the needles, blood ran down. I was getting blood all over the control panel. Another person had joined us at some point, but once they saw what was going on, they ran away. We were hoping they'd get help, but they didn't.

Not being deterred, and listening to the girl's sobs, I was able to complete what needed to be done. I don't remember what happened after or even exactly what it did. But I don't think I died. But I might have blacked out at that point. After all, I had been losing a lot of blood and who knows what those needles hit. The important thing is that I got done what needed to get done.

This was kind of neat so I wanted to share. :) Confidence booster at its best!

I was in a sort of classroom. Some of the people I had recognized from my old girl scout troop. They really just made me feel uncomfortable when I saw them (no wonder... they had always made me uncomfortable when I was little...). After that mess of a reunion, we were joined by an older woman. The instructor. I read her name... Amy Graham? Gram? Grammar? I forget exactly, but I've never been good at reading when not awake. She shared that she was going to teach us how to fly in the astral. At first she got quite a bit of ridicule for being there. But I was fascinated. Teaching things in the astral? I spoke to her for a little bit, but I was a little afraid to be too open or even share that I dabbled in it a bit. Yeah, I thought I was awake a this point.

We went outside, a transition that we entered the astral and she started teaching people how to fly. I recognized this as the football field at my old high school. I started helping people learn, knowing that I already could. I didn't want to show that though. When the other students started getting the hang of it, they started making fun of me for not being able to fly. Wait a second, hadn't I just helped them?

Suddenly something dangerous started approaching. I'm not even sure if I ever even saw what it was. The other students started freaking out and falling from the sky. I knew we were in danger and without a second thought, I ran at it across the field, transforming in a flash into my usual form and rising into the air. The other students gasped, but they were no longer making fun.

My memory started getting patchy. But I don't think those details are the important ones or the point. The point is, the danger was warded away. I landed and expected to be ridiculed, but I wasn't. There was no celebration, either. But something better. Respect. I looked at the teacher and she smiled at me.

I think I'm pretty good at staying positive when I don't see any progress. I know everyone is right where they need to be. Things will happen when we are ready for it. But sometimes, I admit, it is frustrating for me. All this talking of intent and want. Yes, I want with all my heart. I can intend with every inch of myself. I know there is nothing to fear. So why can't I trick my body into falling asleep? Why can I never reach the point that sleep paralysis hits? I can watch the pictures in my mind swirl about, weaving in and out of little narratives. I feel myself on the brink. I stay relaxed and let it come. But then there's nothing.

I asked my guide today, after teetering on the bridge for quite a long time. Why was it that I could never pass that point? Again I was reminded that everyone is right where they are supposed to be. Experiencing what they're meant to experience. But why? If I'm not doing anything wrong... Then what? Am I supposed to just be satisfied? Such amazing experiences right there out of reach? He smiled and replied "que sera sera" What will be will be.

I got up, not wanting to lay there anymore. Grabbed my guitar and played the song of the same name. I had forgotten about it and how beautiful it was... I know I should be thankful for all the wonders and experiences I do have, though never from a completely wakeful state... and I am thankful. But sometimes it can be hard, too.

I really need to grow up.

I have no idea if anything like this would be possible or even plausible, but quite a few times I have thought "oh, wouldn't it be great if this forum had a messenger?" I know it's not that hard to ask for external messenger usernames, but everyone uses something different and to have all these different programs running on my computer just to see if someone is online is a bit annoying.

Like I said, I don't even know if it is even possible because after all, this is a forum, but I thought I'd mention it. :)

I had an interesting experience this morning. After a few dreams I woke up then decided to try projecting myself back into the world because it was interesting. I simply wanted to explore because it was an interesting world.

In the previous dreams I was a kid, so I was actually still a kid, though I was completely lucid, aware that I was purposely exploring the world.

More specifically, I wanted to see quite literally how much I could see. I thought about when you're in a video game with a very large map. If you start moving too quickly through it it starts having rendering problems or screen tearing. I was just curious.

So, there I go bounding through the town which was nothing like I saw before, looking at as many details as I could as I went. I noted the architecture, the types of plants, the elevation, whether they had mailboxes or not... There was really no pattern and everything was so unique. And beautiful. I never saw anything like it. It was as if everything was already there. If there was a limit, I couldn't see it.

There were people, too. I had to run through a yard at one point and as I passed I noticed a guy in his 20s. I turned and he was a young boy, the same age as I appeared. Maybe around 8? He said he was exploring and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was exploring too and asked him if he wanted to go with me to the mountains in the distance. I realized his exploring meant the yard around his house.

Besides the kid, I saw others and not all of them human. I saw some sort of adult alien looking creature teaching his kid how to roller skate down the sidewalk. I flew over nature areas too. Wild stuff! Loved it! Limitless!

I was just wondering, would anyone be interested in reading a book that I wrote? It's not published, but I think I'm gonna go for it once the second book is finished. I'm part way through it right now, but I'm having a little trouble kick starting myself into finishing it.

It is juvenile fiction and while it has some darker tones in it, it also has a good bit of comedy. The title is "The Watchers". The genre is somewhere between Science Fiction and Fantasy.

The story takes place a few hundred years after a mysterious plague wiped out most of Earth's population. The city of Utopia is led by a religious figure who had erected a large wall around the land, protecting the citizens from the dangerous world outside where they can still see the dilapidated sky scrapers of an older, forbidden age. It is believed that to punish humans for their sins, the plague and demons were unleashed upon the world, technology being one of the largest culprits. Needless to say, most modern technology has been purged entirely, but nothing can completely stamp out curiosity.

When Oliver's friend Max shows him a contraption called a camera, he knows that whatever his friend is planning, he's not going to like it. Despite being forbidden to cross the wall, the two kids go to see for themselves if monsters are real... and they get a bit more than they bargained for.

Please let me know if you would like to read it and I will email it. :) It is a very easy read and I have gotten positive responses so far. Oh, and the whole thing was written in composition books as I worked at a call center. That's why it is dedicated to Hallmark Customer Service. :D

Welcome to Dreams! / Force Powers! Dum dum dum!
February 24, 2013, 01:25:59
I know I said I would start sharing less dreams, but this was nuts! >_< I discovered that I had force powers!

It took place on an imperial spacecraft. I was a twilek and I was some sort of scoundrel like person. I'm pretty sure we were part of the rebels. We had something that the imperials needed and they had captured us to get it. It was an orb. There were several in total. Another group had one as well, but only one was the real one. The other group was positive that they had the real one. Now, these orbs followed similar lore of the orbs in the game Amnesia... If you haven't played it, it's not really important. Pretty much, one of our people slight of handed, switching the orbs with the other group, one shattering, making it useless, then activated all the orbs. We were going to use the power to escape, taking them with us, but Darth Vader showed up and whipped out a can of whoop butt. We ended up on the run. For some reason we COULD run? Haha! We ended up at a locked gate door. They told me to slice it. Well, there wasn't a console, it was just a normal metal gate. I inspected the sides and noticed it was just screwed together... I unscrewed it and we got though. Anticlimactic. We were headed towards the stern of the ship where the storage bay was. Hiding in the dark among the crates, we were terrified with no where to go. Two aliens showed up, one was huge and carried some sort of large plasma cannon. I guess it kind of reminded me of an Elite from halo, but larger. The other alien's body was more humanoid, but it's head was strange and I can't think of what to compare it to. Creepy though. Maybe like a jackle from Halo, but more humanoid in appearance. It started firing at us and I did observe that their guns were set so they didn't damage the ship. We had no weapons and I watched as a few of the rebels tackled the aliens anyways, despite the guns blazing. I thought about how much of a coward I was. I got closer, trying to get myself to help, but I couldn't move. A yellow beam from the cannon fired and it flew right at me, it burned my left hand and oh man it felt so real... I smelled it, my hand was charred black from it, though I was surprised it wasn't vaporized. My panicked yells attracted the other alien and it walked right up to me. I was panicking, barely able to breathe. I'm not sure what compelled me to try and invisibly grab his neck, but I did and pulled off a force choke. I had NO idea that I could use the force and to be honest, wasn't even really thinking about or connecting what was going on, I was so afraid. He started choking and I kept squeezing harder and harder, too afraid to stop. He collapsed in the air, still being held up by my choke. I smashed him to the ground, similar to continuing stomping a roach after it's long dead. Seeing his comrade fall, the other alien came over. I was soooo terrified... He held up his cannon and I reached out again. Even lifted up, he was still trying to aim at me. It was difficult, but I raised him up, smashing him against the ceiling then slamming him to the ground. I then repeated, getting faster as it got easier. Kind of like a ping pong ball. His armor got smashed and I think he died long before I stopped. When I finally let go of the crumpled mess, everyone was so silent. We were alive.

After that point I had passed out a few times, between the stress of everything that had happened and the pain in my hand. We were locked in the cargo bay and would be dealt with when we got to where we were going. They didn't know which one of us had used the force, but Darth Vader wanted to find me. Especially because force choke is more of a dark side thing. He could use someone that picked up out of no where. I looked out the window at some point and it looked like we were on a planet like... Oh I can't even remember the names. There were large grassy fields and plateaus. Beautiful colors. We passed over a village of wookies (though this was not kashyk), though I noticed that they looked a bit different. They had shaggy tails and decorated themselves with bright green leaves. Also, more than half he wookies had blue fur with patches of dark blue/purple fur. So... Wookies with the coloration of Sully from Monsters Inc. That made sense. I remember thinking why in the world the wookies looked like that... @_@ Meanwhile, the imperials were yelling at them to stop looking so happy or something like that.

Eventually I heard that the rebels were going to trade me for the rest of them to be let free. I felt kind of betrayed, but at the same time, there were so many of them... I'm talking like... 60 people, maybe more. I eventually woke up.

I don't mean to keep sharing dreams, but this was pretty funny. I have no idea why I suddenly dreamed about my favorite actor. Is it alright for me to make topics like this or should I make a journal?

I was at my mom's house (?) but it was huge. It also was attached to a conference room as well as quite a few other people were there. In the room next to me was a... oh, I knew the word in my dream. It was a large group of Korean kids on a trip around the world. I read the brochure. The company was based in he UK and had a logo with a world and little kids holding hands around it. The name was something implying kids getting a cultural experience around the world enriching themselves. They had a guest speaker and it was non other than Steven Chow! He's my favorite actor (LOVE his old movies), but what was funny was that I only thought of his name in Chinese, Zhōu Xīngchí. I was so excited, but the Korean kids were in the middle of something so I didn't want to interrupt. They were doing some sort of dance in traditional clothes at the time?

I waited for them to have a break then politely entered the room. It was only Steven Chow and his escort/translator. I asked him if I would be able to get a picture with him and he seemed mildly amused that some random American girl was so excited. I got the feeling that he enjoyed America because he wasn't bothered as much there since not many people knew him. His escort started to brush me off, saying that they were part of... oh, what's that word? I guess I will have to use conference. He said that I shouldn't be bothering him right now. I was a bit distraught and as I was about to leave, Steven Chow said in English that it would be over at 1 and I could come back then. I got so giddy and excited. I wanted to say something o the effect that I was a big fan of his movies, but it came out as "I'm your biggest fan." Well, not exactly. I don't know if it's because I have trouble speaking correctly in dreams or I was just excited, but I actually said "You're my biggest fan!" I instantly felt stupid and was about to correct myself, but I had already turned to go. I felt like such an idiot. I could hear them giggling and whispering to each other as I left in Chinese. Not like in a malicious way, but it was still embarrassing.

I looked at the clock and there was only about 11:30. The Korean kids went back into the room and I sat at a long table there. Somewhere in here my dog woke me up, but I fell back asleep and continued. Other people my age joined me at the table. One boy that sat next to me kept trying to hold my hand and I was like wtf? brushing him off. It got irritating enough that I was about to share that I had recently gotten married, so bugger off. The other people at the table would randomly strike up conversation. They were part of another group, but I think they were from other parts of the US or something. I don't remember the exact conversation, but after a while I started getting the hint that they were very religious and weren't liking my answers to things. I think we were talking about spiritual stuff. About beliefs and such. They cold shouldered me when I didn't change my beliefs and I did a little research about them on the internet. I forget the name they went by, but I remember reading that they were evangelical. I know I've heard that before, but I need to research it...

"Four specific hallmarks of evangelical religion: conversionism, the belief that lives need to be changed; activism, the expression of the gospel in effort; biblicism, a particular regard for the Bible; and crucicentrism, a stress on the sacrifice of Christ on the cross."

Hm... yup.

Well, after that I looked at the clock and it was 1:05. OH NO! I went to the room and the event had ended, but quite a few people were still there, taking pictures and stuff. Steven Chow waved me over and I said in Chinese that I needed to grab my phone. I could tell that the sudden Mandarin from a random American girl surprised him. I looked for something I could use and saw my husband's iPhone so I grabbed it. I stood next to Steven Chow and a bunch of Korean girls and they took a bunch of pictures with their group's camera. They said they were finished and I told them that because I wasn't in the group, I wouldn't be able to get the picture. I held up the iphone and realized it was an ipod so no camera. Of course, because my husband would never leave without his iphone... I was a bit upset. But at least I got to see Steven Chow. Then the dog woke me up again.

I was surprised at how much English Steven how spoke in my dream. Because I'm silly and like to look things up, I did, and apparently his English is pretty decent. Funny, funny! I love it when things can cross reference with the waking world. xD

I'm putting this in the OBE section because while it dabbles in dreams, I think it focuses more on the OBE parts. Feel free to move it.

I'm usually pretty active at remembering dreams. Some lucid, some not, but every so often out of no where I start popping out of my body like crazy without any trouble at all. Did some awesome experimenting last night.

Most likely the whole thing was less than 30 minutes, as well. My dog woke me up suddenly and I hadn't remembered anything, so I was a bit disappointed. I took care of him and laid in bed for a while trying my best to fall back asleep.

At first, I found myself in a dream. I was in my usual form (not human) and was a kid. It was at a park of some point. With animals and stuff. Except I think there were dinosaurs. There was at least a museum like section about them. The pterodactyls were on strings from the ceiling. Maybe the whole place was a museum.

I wandered around for a bit, playing. It was dark and there weren't any people around looking at the displays. I wanted to head to the exit, but I was stopped by someone I knew. He was really tall and kind of had a feline like face. Big guy. Almost like a "Predator" look to him, but I didn't find him scary. I recognized him.

He told me "You know you can't go out there."

I whined a little bit and asked him "Why not? Just a quick look wouldn't hurt."

He wasn't mean about it or anything. Kind of sympathetic. He started telling me something, but I had already started losing interest.

I resumed my playing and I woke up with my eyes still closed. I felt like I could just pop right out of my body. I didn't even actively start trying it just sort of happened and I floated and flipped around onto my bed. I was aware of my husband next to me (usually don't see anyone with me when I start looking around). This is where I stared having some fun. Each experience didn't last long because I had the feeling that I was being pulled back, but in quite a few I managed to get much further than I ever have before. What was also a really cool feeling was that my mind was as lucid as if I was awake, different from usual lucidity when I act a bit different.

At first, everything was pretty fuzzy. I looked at my hands, saying focus and I started really observing as much as I could to help root me into place. Stomped my feet and felt things. One of the coolest ones was when I opened the window like a door (laughing at the fact that I didn't "pass glass") and it opened to a beach with course warm sand and crisp blue water. I put my hands and feet right into it and yeah... my awareness level was pretty nuts from all the touching and feeling. All the sensations felt so real. Still ended up feeling the tug back in and "waking up", but I found that I could keep exiting without a problem.

Sometimes I did now "wake up" back in my room. There was another location. I haven't been there before in the physical. At one point I explored it a little in obe. The building was long and thin. The room I stayed kind of reminded me of a hotel room, but the building as a whole more reminded me of when I used to work at a camp. It's pretty common for me to have dreams at that camp. I was aware that I was waking up in a different place, but quite honestly, I was just enjoying myself.

Another neat one was, as I was exiting again, I thought it would be neat to try and go to space, something I've always wanted to do. Maybe the moon. Eventually I still had the sensation of separation, but when I started seeing I would be somewhere completely different. This time I found myself, not floating around in space, but in sort of like a Chinese influenced traditional building. Like a shrine, it was wood, all painted red. Decorated. Through the gaps in the wood I could see the stars. Beautiful and so many. I was in awe even though it wasn't the moon. Well, I walked forward and low and behold... The moon was HUGE. It was like I was floating around in my makeshift wooden spacecraft getting a close look of the brilliant moon. Just parked right out front. I was amazing...

Later on I heard my husband on his computer playing a video and I woke up for real. However he was fast asleep and his computer wasn't on. Yeah... I probably entered all the obes from false awakenings (some of which were extremely realistic), but OH M GOODNESS THAT WAS AMAZING!

I did fall back asleep into a dream after all that. (I am not a morning person...) I figure I might as well share it as well. I don't remember exactly what happened in what order, but I think the world was being taken over by under cover aliens and I was trying to save the world.

ahem...

It took place primarily at a huge banquet hall. It was being put on by the aliens and the ultimate plan at the end was to kill or maybe enslave everyone or something. It started in the lobby. I was oblivious to the aliens and was there with my husband. One of them asked me about us and I shared that we had recently married. She asked me what year I was (and after some confusion determined she was asking which year of the chinese zodiac I was) and I told her rabbit. She shook her head abruptly and told me no, I was dog. Confused, I brushed it off and hung out with my husband for a bit. I guess they had a shop there too and there was the cutest colorful scarf. My husband was telling me how he liked it. Just normal conversation as if we were awake stuff. Not lucid at all.

At one point, I came across a closet room with a bunch of information about what was really going on. At first I didn't believe it, but it convinced me that we were all in danger. I learned that we were all locked in and the toasts were about to begin. It was also a lock down room so I had the choice of hiding myself and my husband in there with food and water and leave everyone else to fend themselves or try to save everyone.

Yeah, back to the banquet hall. I tried to convince everyone what was gong on and everyone thought I was crazy, especially my husband. Some of the details I've lost, but at some point the tables started floating in the air like flying saucers and I ended up tackling the main woman, electricity flying off the table. I have no idea how that stopped the aliens. Maybe it did?

I've been having a lot of dreams involving aliens recently. And I keep wondering why the crap they're always hostile. Seriously! Come on!

I will be very impressed if anyone actually reads that, HAHA! Sorry!

I'm throwing this in the dream section because it is probably the most applicable. It's just not limited to dreams.

Most of us probably have had dreams of being something other than human at some point. I have been curious recently to hear about others' experiences regarding it.

I think I've probably mentioned this before, but in probably 90% or more of my dreams, I take another form. It is always the same form and it has happened since at least I was around 5. Sometimes it has felt like I have been growing up in two places at once. Because a picture is worth a thousand words I will post a picture rather than trying to explain:

http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b492/ChopstickFox/ryubig.gif

So... tail, claws, wings... yeah.

I needed to teach myself to fly and practice at night. Couldn't get the hang of it until about high school. Now it's not a problem, though environmental factors come into play. Such as the presence of wind, if I'm indoors, or not. What made me think of this was the recent topic talking about what is real. Just like, Bedeekin didn't need to know how a lightsaber worked to create one. He could observe how it worked. This is similar. Everything is so real and consistent. I could go into it like crazy, but I don't want to drag myself off topic.

Sometimes I share my thoughts with the waking world, being completely lucid. Sometimes I am oblivious, but I'm always me, if that makes any sense. The form feels just as real and my own as my physical human body.

I am really curious to know if anyone else has experienced something similar or really any thoughts on it. Even branching out to other forms in general, even if they aren't consistent. Such as, every so often I am a fox/kitsune. So yeah... any thoughts are really appreciated. :)

With Bedeekin's permission I am posting this to see what others make of it. :D

I had two dreams a few weeks ago where this occurred.

Both times, I was going through my dream as usual then I came across a woman. The dream kind of paused where it was at or rather like... the story part would pause for a chat break. She asked me what my opinion was of Bedeekin and I told her that I was glad to have met him. He's fun to chat with and I enjoy reading his posts on the forum. At that point I noticed that she looked a little frustrated and one time she flat out said to stop talking to him. Then she would walk away and the dream would continue like nothing happened.

It was bizarre enough that I was seriously thinking "oh crap, am I bothering this guy?" haha! I wasn't going to share, but it had happened twice so I figured eh... why not?

So... thoughts?

First off, I have spent the last few days using myself as a guinea pig to try out different ways of going OBE and such to see if I found a niche that worked better for me. It seems that binaural beats really don't do anything for me. They keep my mind awake, but my body never falls asleep so I'll just be sitting there awake for hours. That or I'll fall asleep. Bleh. I ended up not having any luck at all.

I had a break last night and I had a very neat experience. (Yeah, yeah, always when I'm NOT trying! haha!)

I was having an incredibly interesting dream. It was pretty long, too, detailed storyline. I was able to continue it, right from where I left off, at least 5 times. I wanted to share what was helping me out in case it could help anyone.

This was a little bit different from what I usually hear on here, being that once you wake up, you don't move, open your eyes, or anything. So, here we go!

Upon waking from the first part of the dream, it was smack dab in the middle of something interesting. I certainly had a strong desire to return to it. When I woke up, I didn't try to keep still or even keep my eyes closed. I thought in as much detail as I could about the dream, what I saw, who I met, what happened in the story. I imagined it playing in my mind without putting too much thought into it. As I recalled it, I let myself fade back asleep and for lack of a better word, phased right where I had left off with no memory of breaking.

It continued and eventually I woke up again. This time, I repeated from the very beginning of the first dream until the end of the second, phasing at the end.

This was done at least five times until eventually it concluded. I opened my eyes through about it, talked to my husband a bit, stretched, wiggled around, I was even tempted to try visiting the bathroom then coming back. And I can't pin this one on false awakenings because my husband really was talking to me.

I think the cause of this working is a mix of intent and thinking through the scenario. I think an important part is imagining through what has already happened, leading into the next part.

So... I hope this helps anyone interested in this! :D And let me know your thoughts!

Welcome to Dreams! / Dream as a Fox
February 11, 2013, 09:08:21
I had an interesting dream last night and I thought I'd share since it's been on my mind all day. I was myself as a fox, a form that's not too unusual for me to take in my dreams. More specifically, a kitsune from a lot of asian legends. They are fox spirits that can turn into humans, use magic, and stuff. I was running with many other foxes. It was like a rainbow of foxes running together. Kitsune are well known for having multiple tails. From a normal perspective we all looked like normal foxes, but almost out of the corner of my eye I could see beyond the magic. Right at the tip of our tails I could see where the other tails were hidden from view. It was kind of wild and hard to explain. The whole world kind of looked like that. On one level it was a normal forest, but at the same time is was very colorful and vibrant. Beautiful and magical. Kind of like the physical world was overlayed with another one, but humans couldn't see it.

Well anyways, we were all running together. One of our fellow foxes had been tracked by hunters and we needed to help them. One of the other foxes told me to run ahead so I did so. I was suddenly alone and completely in the "physical world" not the magical looking one. Just a normal forest, snow on the ground. I was afraid because no one had followed me. I didn't see the fox in trouble, just a huge dog. Oh, it was HUGE! I realized it had been a trap (why the other foxes would have set me up, I have no idea). It chased me and I ran for my life. It caught me and ripped my tail off with one bite.

Now in kitsune lore, foxes are terrified of dogs (for good reason, dogs can hunt them). Also, it is said that a fox's power is stored in its tail(s). By the time this happened, the hunters called the dog off and walked up to me. Completely powerless and humiliated, I started inching away. The humans talked to each other for a little bit. They were holding the tail of the other fox they had hunted. They walked closer and I looked up at them. They commented on my eyes, which were red. Yeah, I'm usually a black fox with red eyes. They were superstitious and contemplating what they should do. Did they bring bad luck on themselves by killing the other fox? Would they be doomed if they killed another? Too afraid to kill me, they gave me the tail of the other fox, hoping to make ammends for what they did. Another piece of kitsune lore, the number of tails a fox has, generally the older/more powerful it is. Whether it was magic or what, the new tail instantly healed on me and gave me much more power than before. The fox that had been killed was a much more powerful fox.

It wasn't like I could have said thank you to them or anything, but they let me go. Again following kitsune lore, I then watched over and helped the hunters in the future.

That could have been right from an ancient story, haha!

Everything was so vivid in this dream... Loved it.

Welcome to Dreams! / A life in a dream
January 31, 2013, 10:20:51
Had an unusual dream. The story was very precise and put together. In perfect colors, sounds, smells, details as if awake.

I was in what I'm assuming was India and not in modern times. I was a man (I'm actually a woman) and I would always pester a blind man that owned a stall that sold stuff. He would make art out of the shells from the sea shore. One item in particular was a beautiful piece of Hindu gods. I would always mess up his wares, break things, and really be an utter butt-wipe. Even though it was a dream I am embarrassed with myself looking back on it. No one really seemed to do anything about it, either. Maybe I was in a position of power that made me immune to being put in my place or maybe just no one cared.

One day, I'm not sure exactly why it happened, but I want to say that perhaps the gods got fed up with my behavior and wanted to punish me. They changed me into a woman and forced me to have the blind man fall in love with me. At first I was incredibly reluctant, but as the weeks and maybe even years went by, I learned incredible lessons. I truly fell in love with him and cared deeply for him. I was to be changed back, but I was so upset that I would lose my love and become a man again that rather than living, I turned into beautiful sea shells.

I haven't posted anything in a while... Mostly because I've been adjusting to now living in China and the wedding here (It went great!) I've still been trying to keep up with my dream journal and recording my OBES. I have been noticing a few patterns I want to make note of...

1. I haven't had a successful OBE in the evening or laying down before sleeping.

2. I have only been able to successfully exit my body after trying after waking.

3. I think I have only been exiting by body through very realistic false awakenings.

Why do I think this? Well, false awakenings are not uncommon for me. I wake up several times before  actually wake up. Chances are some of these are real periodic awakenings, some are not. Sometimes I am able to discover this while in the false awakening, sometimes I fully believe I am awake. However, I am usually completely conscious and have all of my thoughts. Perhaps this is why I am able to OBE from there. There's no way to tell for sure if all of my OBEs have occurred this way... But for instance, this morning I did one of my periodic awakenings, (believing I was awake), OBEd, Woke up and I was on another side of the bed. I asked my husband how I got there and he shrugged, watching his video on his computer (he had been doing that all morning). I OBEd again and then ended up in the actual waking world where I had initially fallen asleep. In these false awakenings sometimes people have visited, I've gone up to use the bathroom and the bathroom door led somewhere completely different, strangers in the house, you name it. Weird eh? Oh, and when I figure out it is a false awakening I don't usually wake up unless I want to.

I'm wondering anyone's thoughts. I personally don't think this discredits my OBE experiences, but I wont lie that it puts a little bit of a damper on it. But who cares HOW you get there. It's the experience that matters.

Welcome to Dreams! / Finding a Dream Journal
January 02, 2013, 23:33:32
Because I will be moving, I have slowly been going through my compilation of notebooks and sketchbooks in order to throw away clutter. I stumbled across a dream journal from 10 years ago. Back from like high school, I guess. Early high school.

Looking back on things... It is striking what things are similar and what things are entirely different.

When I spoke with my guide, he was the exact same, though I did not understand nearly as much as I do now, haha! It's fun to read because I am so confused in the journal.

I knew I was insecure back then. And I can see how that reflected into my dreams. I see how I am a very different person than I was back then. It is now plain as day the symbolism presented and the lessons that were put in place for me to learn. And that I have learned.

There are epic dreams spanning dozens of pages similar to these "trial" like dreams I have been recently learning about. Just like now there are ones I have passed, once I have failed. But all that I have learned from. It's quite humbling...

I just thought I'd share... Dream journals aren't just great for the present. :)

Yesterday was my wedding! YAY! It was beautiful! I have been missing being able to talk to you guys the past few days, but I was so busy :)

I wanted to share a few things... The night before the wedding, the weather channel said it was a 60% chance of rain. Because it was out-doors, I was very worried, but I kept trying to tell myself that it would be beautiful regardless. That night I was starting to fall asleep and I noticed that I was seeing images in my head. I focused on the image and to my surprise it was my recently deceased grandmother. I was in a building and she was standing right outside a window, blue skies behind her and she was smiling. The day of the wedding defied the prediction and was beautiful and warm. :) Regardless... It was very special to see her...

My dreams last night (the wedding night) were rather strange. The dreams early on, I was not lucid and I was not aware of my waking memories. It was a very futuristic looking world. Maybe even off planet-like. There were a lot of rules and our lives were regimented. To our perception we had a lot of freedom, but looking back on it, we weren't free at all. It kind of reminded me of the Uglies book series, although it had nothing to do with how we looked. There were pipes that dug into the ground and we were not allowed beyond them... Some friends and I decided to be a bit rebellious and explore. There were people in blue jumpsuits and yellow jumpsuits and we realized that we were in deep crap if anyone saw/caught us. We ran and hid and I forget exactly what happened after that. At some point I was playing a video game where I kept dying on the sub-boss. I even realized at some point that I was dreaming, but still couldn't win. Hax. It required some perfect button pushing crap. Bleh...

In another dream, my husband and I were in the everglades. It was so realistic, I thought I was awake. I asked him if he wanted to take one of those fan boat things because I saw one drive past in the distance. He asked me what it was called and I tried to think of it, but I couldn't remember. The guide told us and I realized, but quite honestly I don't remember what she said. Let me look it up. Airboat, I guess. My husband walked along the dock and I noticed an alligator swimming along side him. I yelled for him to move, but the alligator struck at him. Maaaaaybe, I kind of tackled that thing and wrangled it. I don't remember if I was successful, but that thing wasn't going to hurt my new hubby if I had any say in it.

My last dreams were more like phasing because I remained conscious and lucid the whole time. I entered kind of near the place in the everglades in a building. It was kind of a mix of the earlier dream as well in that it has similar futuristic elements. I did quite a lot of experimenting. Things were going on, but I didn't always go along with it, disrupting the storyline. I could feel myself waking up so I tried the whole clarify thing to make it clearer and extend the experience. It was pretty cool what happened. Everything was so clear. I tried to smell too and was partially successful, but I ended up waking up in the end. I went back a few times, but it kept getting shorter and shorter till I couldn't go back. Still neato

Welcome to Dreams! / Failed a Test?
December 21, 2012, 12:40:47
I'm putting this in the dream section because I was not aware that I was sleeping and that I was not aware of my waking world life.

I was in my usual form within dreams (easier than explaining): http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b492/ChopstickFox/ryubig.gif

I was part of some sort of lab program as a test subject. There were others part of the program and we were expected to have complete obedience. We would be punished for any deviance from our instructions. The setting was very sterile and white. The doctor in charge was a stern old man. The detail in this dream was incredible. I don't remember much of the other subjects, but the prominent characters were so detailed. I didn't recognize them, but they looked so real. Everything looked and felt real.

As I entered the lab, I had passed a man in a long brown coat. It was pretty dirty and kind of tattered. He had on gloves, was tan, wore a bandana on his head and his face was red as if he had spent a lot of time in the sun. He himself was kind of dirty too, as if he had been living on the streets. His hair was almost like an orange color, but apparently had been dyed that way from the sun. He also hadn't shaved in I guess a few days. Maybe less, I don't know how fast facial hair grows, but he had a lot of stubble. He asked me if there was a place he could get a job. People usually didn't talk to me so I was too afraid to speak back, my wings trembled. He rolled his eyes and walked away.

I'm usually not completely and utterly submissive in my dreams, but I fully believed that I needed to follow what I was told or I would be severely punished. The other test subjects and I were placed in a room and the old man in charge told us what was planned for this session. It was kind of like a maze, but split decisions would need to be made. We would need to follow our instructions. There was an emphasis that if we deviated, we might not walk out of there.

We started and entered the maze. There were a lot of hallways and doors. I heard alarms go off and I practically ran right into someone. It was the - for lack of a better term - drifter from before. He was like "Oh great, you again?" I don't remember the exact conversation but it was quick and I never spoke. He told me that the lab was going to give him $60 for being part of a brief research project. As it progressed he felt it was too fishy and decided to escape. Of course I was thinking in my mind "escape?!?!?!! WHAT?!!?! You don't do that!"

Another alarm went off and the old man announced that anyone who caught the drifter would be rewarded and anyone who helped him would be punished. I didn't want him to get hurt, but was so afraid for myself, as well. He assumed I would be useless so he ran down the hallway. After a moment of fighting myself, I chased after him. There were cameras in the hallways, but not in the rooms. I followed him into a room and I guess I couldn't speak because I could only communicate with gestures. I decided that I would be on the lookout for the others looking for him and help guide him out.

We had a lot of very close calls, but when it came down to it, he ended up running ahead and I wished that I was able to be brave enough to lead him because he turned left instead of right which was the exit. He ran right into a trap where the old man shot a needle into his neck. He fell against the wall and turned to look right at me. He looked right at me as he died. My heart was beating so hard and I kept regretting. I kept thinking that there had to be a way to save him, screw what came of it. There had to be a way. I started realizing that I was dreaming and felt myself waking up. I started thinking "no! I can still save him! If I can just get back in the dream, I can make it alright! I can help him!" But I awoke into my bed, feeling distraught. I tried falling back asleep into where I left off, but it didn't work.

So, failed test? I have the feeling it was a test because it had that feel. I felt so sour afterwards...

In a separate dream, I found myself in my dad's garage, though the surrounding neighborhood was, which it matched up with the neighborhood, was a completely different place. Think of how a child sees the world in their imagination. Sure it physically "looks" like a neighborhood, it can be so much more. I only remember patches. There was a green parrot named Peter Pan of all things. Don't ask. She could talk. Yes, it was a she. I remember her sitting on my shoulder. There were people lost in the rain. I went out to search for them and this was really one of the weirdest things I have become in a dream. I turned into an Eastern dragon, but I wasn't physical. It was almost like I was made of stars. It was like no big deal, I just snakes through the air like nothing looking for the lost people. The bird turned into a little girl and I turned into a human when we found the two missing boys. They were cold and wet, their lips blue. A fuzzy dog was on them keeping them warm. They moved to get up and I pushed the dog back on them. I told them that I was too cold to bring them back and would return soon with a better way to bring them back. I guess that was it. But yeah, probably the weirdest thing I have ever felt was flying through the air as an eastern dragon, haha.

I put this in this section because it could be from a dream, AP, or OBE. I guess it really doesn't matter.

What I'm bringing up is when you have an experience when you see either land marks or pretty much anything without having prior knowledge then looking it up after the experience to find that what you saw was true. Yeah, I'm sure coincidence plays a part. As well as your subconsciousness possibly observing it somehow before, but your consciousness sees it as new information.

I have had quite a few experiences with this that I believe I have brought up before in other topics. This has been brought to my attention again because a while ago I had a few dreams where I went to a new area in Magic Kingdom (Disney World). I saw the castle from Beauty and the Beast and upon waking, I compared it with the new installation going in there. Sure, I'm positive that it's not a far shot that I heard that they were building the castle there and that I remembered the castle from when I saw the movie as a kid. I get that. What was peculiar was all the other details, such as the trees, the colors, and the fact that I had passed by a Winnie the Pooh ride in the dream. I didn't even think that Magic Kingdom had a Winnie the Pooh ride. The first thing I looked into was if there was one or not. At first I didn't see it, so I dismissed it, but then I noticed it (it was exactly where it was in the dream). It's one reason why I chose to go to Magic Kingdom yesterday and not any of the other parks. So weird! It was exactly like it was in the dream, which was simply baffling!

So I wonder, has anyone else had this happen before?

Had my first nap in forever today and it felt GREAT. Well, nap among other things. Sorry for another long one, but I don't see the point of splitting it up.

I exited a little differently this time. Rose right out of my body and only noticed when I realized that I could suddenly see my hands in front of me and I was in another place completely. Usually I end up in my apartment, but during the day I've been trying to suggest appearing somewhere new. Maybe it worked? :) See, I have a hard time consciously wanting it and having it happen. I have to trick my subconscious into doing it automatically. If that makes any sense.

I found myself in a different apartment and I ended up spending quite a bit of time there. A man and a woman lived there and they had a dog who had just had puppies. I don't remember what kind of breed of dog, but it was a dark color and was medium sized. At first I didn't notice the puppies. They were all asleep on a bed and it was dark so I couldn't see well. I had picked up one of the little things laying next to the dog and only then realized that it was a little puppy nursing. It started crying and I freaked out, putting it back. I don't remember if that was what woke up the man and woman, but they were mildly confused by me suddenly appearing in the middle of the night in their apartment, disturbing their dog. They were pretty friendly, actually, and the man later on explained that they had just moved there from a newer area. This apartment was older and he was complaining about the style. Specifically the bathroom. Apparently the old owners thought zebra striped walls were cool. I remember they had a different accent, but I forget exactly.

They took me out in a car the next morning. I wish I took the time to look at it because I was actually in a car this time. I was busy looking out the windows. The town looked pretty typical, though I think we were driving on the other side of the road come to think of it. That seems more likely than us driving backwards. There were crosswalks with pedestrians, it was a little overcast, not as sunny as Florida, but big oak trees or whatever. I'm not an expert on trees, but it was definitely not like Florida. Much farther north. Older style buildings, but I wouldn't be able to tell you how old. For one thing, there was so much detail throughout this whole experience, it really stuck out. I've had a few of these experiences recently. Really strange.

This was where it started getting weirder and in essence, more dream like, I guess. I started noticing that the pedestrians were all looking the same direction. I asked them to let me out of the car and I investigated. It led me to a big building maybe like an old theater, though it was not a theater. It was more like... Well, it had a huge reception room. I walked in and from there I would say that it most likely slipped into a dream. I will continue anyways, regardless of the technicalities of distinguishing what it was.

I was debriefed by someone and I forget exactly what they said, but something along the lines of there was something fishy going on with the people there and we needed to spy on them to figure it out. Also that a lot of people had been suddenly getting sick recently. So here we have two "teams". The people who were at their base and the spies. I really wouldn't say a typical theme of mine, but I rolled with it. I think I lost my lucidity by this point. We worked together to sneak in and get into the areas under surveillance. I'm not going to go through the details, but at one point I ended up needing to hide and they were searching for us. I was under something, covered by a curtain. I thought I would be fine, but one of the bad guy's kids was trying to "help". He was probably only 4 or so and he lifted where I was hiding. At first he didn't see me, then he spotted me. At about that point the disease that was making everyone sick was suddenly released. My team yelled out that we needed to save ourselves and take down as many of the enemy as possible. Of course, I grabbed the little kid, then ran. I guess the disease started turning people into zombies and I was pushing through people, yelling to save the kid. The only exit, of course, was a catwalk like escape out a window onto a balcony. I remember getting slashed at and pushing through the pain trying to keep the kid out of harms way. When I was about to lose consciousness, someone was able to grab the kid from me then dragged me outside.

Time fast forwarded where everything was cleaned up and because of my effort saving the kid, there was peace between the two "teams". They were actually families and the celebration was symbolic for them adopting one another in a way. I looked at a sign and it had one of the families. Their symbol was a snake which I thought was so cliche and Harry Potter like, bringing back my lucidity. I didn't see the other. Someone came up to my table and thanked me, I stood up and gave them a hug. I usually don't remember faces or details about a person, but this person sticks out in my memory. He was a tall black man in a light blue suit, bald, and was slightly broad, but still thin. He was there with his daughter who was probably about 6. She was in a dress, and I want to say it was pink but I don't quite remember. I gave them hugs and from the reaction from him and the other people at my table, it wasn't appropriate. I have no idea who exactly he was and felt a little embarrassed afterwards.

I sat back down and watched a show that they presented. It was really really cool. Everyone participating was in a costume and had a glove with an owl sitting on it. All different breeds and all different people. I can't really explain it, but there was so much detail, through the performance I just watched, my eyes moving from one performer and their owl to the next. Music was playing and they would throw their owl into the air where they would fly coordinately with each other. It sounds silly, but it was amazingly beautiful. It was like a dance. Awesome.

At that point, my husband woke me up. Maybe if he hadn't I might have forgotten the detail that I saw. So individual. Every person and every owl. Completely individual and independent from each other. Perfect physics as far as I could tell, and really just so much detail it was as if I was right there watching them. Which I guess I was, but it's moments like this that I am truly amazed by our minds. Awesome.

I wrote an acoustic song a while ago... Well, a friend of mine rewrote the instrumentals to be rock then we recorded it. Oh snap!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did singing it :)

Welcome to Dreams! / Taking a stroll
December 12, 2012, 13:46:10
I was bad and I am going into work late today.

Is it bad that it's because I was having a very interesting experience? Well, I had a few interesting dreams, one being that I was in some sort of obstacle course race thing in some strange place. The order of winners were determined by letters, not numbers. We had teams and I guess the only reason I had been shoved in was because their player was missing. I don't think I did very well, but I think I surprised them that I managed what I did. I either got a K or a Q, whatever that means. I was pretty much confused the whole time, but I rolled with it.

After that dream, I was laying in bed for a while and decided to try going oob. I rose into the air and flipped over. It didn't feel very stable so I did the looking at my hands thing. I was pretty translucent and I was starting to blobify or something, lol, but looking at them helped steady their form. My apartment looked similar, but different, though not like the last time. There were pieces of paper beside my bed. To steady myself, I landed on the floor and picked them up. They were invitations of some sort, but I didn't recognize any of the names. It kills me that I can't remember them now. I remember reading them and trying to remember.

I stood up and went to the door. Walking out, I found myself in a new place. There were two young girls there. For a moment I thought they were younger versions of my cousins, but they were different. The older one had brown hair and the younger one had long blonde hair. They acted as if they knew me and I played along. Somewhere I noticed a list. It had the same names on it as the invitations.

Eventually I ended up at a gas station, but the cars were weird. I was with someone else now. Some sort of professor? Or maybe the kids' dad. Or both? I forget what was being talked about. As this experience went on, it was harder to remember. A few times I actually fell back into my body and had to phase back in where I had left off.

I remember thinking about how clear everything looked at the time. There were so many details. I couldn't hold onto them within my memory, but they were there. Very neat.

Exciting couple of dreams last night. Sorry it's so long, but this kind of poses as a dream journal for me, too. The last one is the most interesting. And I was cuddled by so many kittens! Yay!

The first one is not so much, but I will write down all I remember anyways.

I think I was male and the perception of myself that I was seeing was different from anyone else. It was kind of like I was within a video game. I fought with a staff and I had realized that I was much more powerful than I usually was. I ran through a very video game-like 3D environment as if I was playing Skyrim or something. The enemies were much like AIs and I could trick them by going out of line of sight and such. I'd whack then with my staff and they'd disappear. I also had some sort of blow gun for ranged. It had cut scenes too. I came across people that I knew and they didn't recognize me. I eventually realized that while I didn't look any different from my point of view, to them I looked like some sort of beast like monster gorilla thing. Weird? Yeah. Imagine like Beast from X-Men, but not blue. I guess that level was over and we were at like a science center or something like that. Someone was explaining it to me that some people were affected by it and it just meant I was different (comforting?). A teenager ran up to me, excited to share that he was affected by it too. He was so excited to share his strength and invulnerability that he like... ripped open and walked inside a boiler. I remember trying to stop him. Oh, it was terrible, the poor kid started screaming and when he came out, I could see his flesh and parts of his bones just seared. Usually my dreams don't get very graphic, but this was disgusting. I was panicking a bit then I noticed that his skeleton was warping as he was healing. He actually became a dragon? Not like a super badass one, but almost like Spyro, but not as cartoony. He was kind of embarrassed and apologized. His guardian came over by this point and started scolding him. She was kind of like a deer person? I just sort of accepted it. Then we went somewhere, the three of us. They yelled that something was attacking us from the air. By looking I couldn't see it, but if I closed my eyes then opened them, I could see it briefly. Then it shot out fire and I believed them. I don't remember what happened after that. Maybe I woke up.

In between my dreams, I had woken up for a bit and tried my little ritual of trying to OBE. I believed I was being successful because I felt the vibrations and I was able to start getting up out of my body. It wasn't a straight float up, but more like sitting up, my legs going right through the bed. It reached the part that I probably should have been able to see, but I couldn't see anything. That confused me and I ended up shooting back into my body.

Actually, there was another dream before my last one. I was at a restaurant I used to go to with my family. But it was also kind of like a Goodwill at the same time, selling used stuff. I was with my dad, mom, and probably a few others. It was like we were watching TV, except it was actually right there literally in front of us. First, my dad had asked the counter if they had found his camera. After asking a few times they gave it to him. As for what we were watching, it was some sort of dog show. But also sports? Where the dogs do tricks. Well, it wasn't working very well. One particular dog threw up a bunch of poop it had eaten and another had its nose and mouth plunged into the mud eating who knows what. Well, it wasn't exactly mud. It must have rained heavily so the grass was flooded in a few inches of water. Anyways, the show must have been a disaster. We lost interest and started looking at the things for sale. I noticed that something was marked on sale (only $75!) we had looked at before, then I was corrected that it was a different item. There was also a giant air hockey thing. Whatever, it kind of lost interest by that point.

My last dream was the most detailed and exciting. Everything felt so real as if I was present in the physical world. When it began, I wasn't even present. I was looking in from the 3rd person at the town/neighborhood. The neighborhood was a street lined with houses and trees, ending in a cul de sac. Beyond there was a canal. It was almost like a halloweenish theme, though who knows. Just slightly older houses and such. No decorations. Saying the strip of houses ran East to West, there was another canal to the North. On the other side was a creepy Frankenstein-like castle. The residents were kind of used to it and strange things happening. One thing I picked up in this overview state was that there was a young adult girl walking around in the night, upset and angry. She wanted the power to do what she wanted to do, whatever that was. She then became possessed or something like that. By a witch or a spirit, I don't know, but she felt the power and she looked devious. She fell asleep outside one of the houses. Yeah, how weird is that? Oh well.

Still in overview mode, I went to the castle. It was run by two interesting characters that I think were somewhat derived from the duo in Megamind. Mostly because one was blue, egotistical, and talkative. The other, my brain apparently replaced the fish gorilla thing with a potato creature. Whatever. So, if that's not weird enough, they had this Frankenstein like castle where they did all sorts of experiments and stuff. Some of it was classical Frankenstein, some of it was more futuristic. They actually sang some song, which was actually quite weird, but whatever. I can't remember the details anymore.

This was when I came in as a character in this dream. I don't know if I was created or what, but I was suddenly there and afraid. I was in my usual form in dreams. I have a pic below because she's not the easiest to describe, but being her is like a second life to me, it feels so natural.

http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b492/ChopstickFox/ryubig.gif

That aside, I was suddenly in this place and wanted to escape. The blue one was trying to reason with me, I dodged him and ran down a hallway where I was blocked by the potato one. I ran back and they had some sort of atrium that was open. I jumped out and flew, though it was difficult in the dread air, to a window, but I found it was locked with a dead bolt. It was next to impossible to stay perched there, so I glided back to where I was before. I eventually found a back door off a balcony and jumped right off it, catching the wind and flying across another canal. There were quite a few trees and they were ridiculously tall. I landed on the branches of one and looked across the water at the large full moon. It really was beautiful. The sun was starting to set and the colors were painted on the water. I decided to go back to the neighborhood so I flew around the castle and landed behind one of the houses. I noticed that a few plants were dying so I decided to help them out by replacing a few. I walked to the front of the house and started working, but noticed someone from across the street start coming over to greet me. I knew that I shouldn't be seen, so I quickly ran to the side of the house. She started talking to me and I spoke back, but I was listening for where she was and always passing the corner before she could see me. I could tell she was getting frustrated so when I got to the front of the house, I dropped the rest of the plants and had a running take off. I arced around the next house and noticed the girl in black from before sleeping. My original plan had been to land, but because she was there, I stopped at the next house.

Tons of cats were looking out at me. Literally. I have never seen so many cats before. I was intrigued because they could talk (or I could understand them) and they told me to come in. Oh my goodness, it was wonderful! I wish someday to be smothered in cats and kittens and I noticed there were puppies, too. SO CUTE. They were all chattering away, curious about me. The first cat had climbed into my arms, practically knocking me over onto my back then the others jumped on me after. They were all talking to me, asking me questions. There was one puppy who noticed my tail and said "Eeew! What's wrong with your tail?" I looked down at it and wiggled it. "That's just the way it is" I smiled. The puppy held up a paw that looked like it had been malformed. he said "I have a special paw too". Then I, for lack of a better word, fist bumped his little paw.The house itself was practically a single room, not all that big. There was a big TV on the back wall. Either the blue guy from before suddenly showed up or a hologram of him. He said to watch the TV. It started playing and all the kitties and puppies watched, cringing. There was a woman there, blonde and in white, it looked like she was singing and dusting a part of the castle. The blue guy said that she was his wife and something terrible happened. I guess one of his experiments went wrong and I watched as the woman got electrocuted or something. Half her hair was charred black and she cackled like a crazy woman. I suddenly had a bad feeling and kept trying to turn off the TV. The lights flickered. By this time it was night. I was urging the puppies or kitties to turn off the TV because I couldn't figure out how to. I looked out the window and noticed the young girl who was asleep before, coming back, a knife in her hand. I realized that this was her house and somehow she was possessed by the woman in the video. She was the witch/evil spirit thing.

I knew I had to go. I exited the back door, but I didn't close it all the way, I was in such a rush. I ran and took flight farther into the neighborhood, weaving in and out of the trees. I started hearing the voices of the puppies and kitties randomly and the sounds would freak me out. At the end of the cul de sac, I perched onto the side of a very tall tree. For some reason there was a truck lodged in it. A red truck. Clinging to the side, I noticed a kitten stuck inside. I opened the trucks window and it jumped on my lap, cuddling close. I asked it if it was one of the cats from the house, it shook its head. All the while, I kept hearing the voices of them all around me like a crazy surround sound. My talons were lodged into the tree bark firmly and I held my wings close to me tightly. I noticed that I could see my shadow on the ground, but figured that if I stood still and kept my tail tucked in that no one would be able to tell. By this point, I could hear the chanting of the woman and her kitties/puppies. They were parading down the street, chanting/singing something. I can't remember exactly. They ended up in the open lot, same as where the tree I was hiding in was. I was listening to what they were saying and it was something about looking for me and that they would find me. In the center of the field I remember them stopping and marching in place saying something about they didn't see me, just a bunch of trolls, whatever that meant. Then they literally dispersed into the air. I was afraid. Where did they go? Would they find me? Did they know where I was?

Then I woke up. I tried to fall back asleep to find out what happened next, but I couldn't. Gah! I wanted to know what happened despite being afraid.

Sorry I was so long winded :)

Welcome to Metaphysics! / The Crystal Menace
November 28, 2012, 00:09:51
I admit it, I just wanted to use that title. But seriously, I had brought this up casually in another thread, but naturally my curiosity wants me to delve just a little bit further with it.

I've noticed that when I wear crystals in the form of jewelry, strange things happen to it. Specifically amethyst. Once I start keeping it near me for any sort of an extended time, it develops black blotches and cracks within it. There's no surface cracks, just what is inside making it look kind of like an ice cube that was just thrown into warm water. I've tried on a few different times over a span of several years. (This is while cleansing them)

Probably about six months ago, I experimented again. This particular amethyst, I had for years, though I did not keep it on my person at all. It looked fine. After a few days, it started displaying the blotches and internal cracks. (This was after a nice long cleanse with earth, water, and moonlight. I wanted to play it safe.) So here I am, one, frustrated that I just ruined another amethyst and two wondering what in the world has been going on.

To be honest, I really don't know much about crystals. I know that different ones have different traits and can help with different things. I look at the subject with an open mind, but I don't have much practical knowledge of them. Except that I manage to kill them somehow.

Has anyone heard of this before? Maybe my energy messes with amethysts or something? I think every so often that I should experiment with other crystals, but I never end up doing it. I had a regular clear quartz before and it didn't show any difference, but two types of crystals really aren't the best scope of things. And besides, isn't amethyst quartz?

So, ideas? I'm certainly curious for possibilities and opinions.

I had a kind of out there trippy dream then after waking up a more down to earth one.

My first dream, I was on top of a giant Chinese style tower. I knew it belonged to the dragon Seiryu. (This dream takes from the lore of the four Gods of the four cardinal directions. It is a Chinese/Japanese myth, though other cultures share it as well. I use their Japanese names because they are the most widely recognized. Seiryu = dragon, Suzaku = phoenix, Byakko = tiger, Genbu = turtle)

So here I am in the tower, the dragon is right outside and HUGE, banging against it. I had led another here in a trick. There was someone I was working with. We had led the unsuspecting one there, ticked off the dragon, then we were going to escape, leaving the unsuspecting one behind. Just a little prank, you know? Well, it backfired. My consort thought it had gotten out of hand, so he disappeared (using Suzaku to ride away through a portal) and leaving me behind. I remember him yelling "This is getting out of hand! I'm taking the phoenix! No hard feelings!"

Well, that was frustrating. I was a fox, I hadn't mentioned that. And I knew that the dragon was not going to easily let me go. I lost track of the person I was intending to trick at this point. I was running through the tower looking for a way to get away. I noticed a cat and found out from it that she was a friend of Byakko (tiger). At this point, I was really, just trying to find any way. I flattered the cat and nuzzled her much like a cat myself. She thought it was so amusing that I would act like a cat to try and get out of my mess.

Then the turtle came in. Wow. It was my pet turtle, though I recognized it as so, not as Genbu. Although she was huge. A huge turtle. MY turtle! Someone tossed her off the edge of the tower to the North side. At the bottom was a swamp filled with crocodiles. I was so upset that my turtle got thrown off the edge, I watched as she opened her arms and it created almost like an airfoil. In hindsight it was pretty amusing to watch. Well, I was so upset, I jumped off after her. Because there was water at the bottom, I turned myself into a cormorant, the whole time just hoping that my turtle (aquatic turtle) would land in the water. She did! And I landed after her. Of course, then there were the crocodiles which I literally punched in the face when they tried to bite me. Don't ask me how I did that as a cormorant, but at some point I was human again, so who knows. I know my turtle was safe, but I lost track of her at that point. I ended up making my way to the southern coast (It was more like an island, I think). I was with a few humans, they were probably freaking out by the ticked off dragon. The southern coast was adjacent to the ocean and we were being carried by the waves. It was at around this point that I woke up.

It's funny in that it tied in the four gods. It was also funny that I could see that happening in a Chinese story a few thousand years ago, haha!

My other dream after falling back asleep wasn't as crazy. I was in an old wooden house. It was a few stories tall and really big. I was in the form I usually take within dreams (human-like, but with dragon-like wings, a tail, and taloned feet). I could hear my family from time to time. My mom, my sister, I could hear and my dad was mentioned. But I couldn't let them find me the way I was. Others were looking for me too. There were plenty of good hiding places. I ducked behind something, only daring to come out when I couldn't hear anyone. At one point, a child saw me and I signaled him to stay quiet. He actually stayed and helped me. I packed food, clothing, and some other things into a small back and I was going to make a break for it. There was a point where a woman came into the room and I swear she should have been able to see me, but then I had forgotten that I could probably see better in the dark than the humans so I could relax a bit. All the while, I could still hear my mom and sister periodically yelling for me. I gained courage to walk down the stairs, but as I approached, the light turned on and I scrambled back up. Now was my time to get out of there. My plan was to get outside onto the porch and fly behind the house, but once I was out there, motion sensor lights turned on. (it was night) I was pretty freaked out and I didn't want them to be able to see me. I jumped off the porch and took flight. The motion sensors were all along the house, high and low. I could hear voices saying such as "The lights are coming on! Quick take a look!" I turned around, and tried to quickly make my back around to the front of the house, varying my height so I tried to keep the most coverage. I made it to the front of the house and no one had seen anything. Phew... My journey away began as I woke up. The detail was so much on this one. Everything from the wood grain, what people were wearing (Though I forget exactly what I was wearing as usual), the outside of the house, the neighborhood. It was pretty nuts!

Welcome to Dreams! / Dreams to Dream
November 24, 2012, 00:43:36
I really don't see a topic for something like this... Maybe writing? But it's music... It's about Dreams so I shall put it here for now! But feel free to move this or delete it, admins. :)

I am in a rather atmospheric mood tonight and I am quite happy with how my recording has come out. So listen if you wish. Close your eyes and just enjoy the music... Perfect theme, huh?

This is a guitar/vocal cover of Dreams to Dream from that old cartoon with the mouse that traveled out West. Fievel goes West?

I love it...

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Imprints?
November 22, 2012, 23:28:31
I have come across every so often information regarding imprints on an area. From my understanding, some paranormal things that we "see" are not necessarily ghosts, but can be an "imprint" on a location. An example would be an old school where you hear children run through the hallways or laughing in the classrooms. These imprints are not necessarily the presence of ghosts and by all means don't necessarily need to be negative. A good positive experience could be the cause.

That is my understanding of it, at least.

I have had some experiences regarding this and I hope to get some insight and opinions. And please know that while I believe in the paranormal, I try to keep myself a skeptic. But some things just are too much to dismiss.

Years ago, my family and I went on a tour of a US battleship from WW2. I absolutely hate wars and have no interest in the military or its history. Nothing against it, I just don't like it. I felt rather "open" that day to the energies around me so I fed the energy and opened my mind, curious to see if I would be able to pick up anything. What ended up happening is beyond anything I have experienced since.

I was picking up images before the tour guide shared the history and learning things from what I was seeing that I later matched up with history. I was still seeing normally, but it was like an overlay in my mind picking up fragments. Some fragments were clearer than others. I first started noticing it when we were walking the deck. It was still riddled with holes. I thought it was my imagination going crazy on me when I thought I was hearing voices and sounds and getting glimpses of bullets hailing from the sky. It made me so uncomfortable, but I kept my mind open. On the bridge, I saw the planes in the air, the people present, their reactions as a plane hit the ship. (This was later backed up by researching where indeed a plane HAD hit the ship... in the same place! That certainly wasn't on the tour!) In another area, it was in the cabins. It's was like the first mate cabin or something. I clearly saw a man and a woman on a bed (where the table was)  doing it with each other. Now, this is certainly not something I think about and it made me very uncomfortable. Right after, they shared that the table folded out into a bed. I was thinking "yeah, but women didn't ride on this ship". As I finished my thought, the tour guide shared that sometimes women stayed there... and mingled with the sailors... At this point I was frightened, but fascinated. I was picking up small things left and right, fighting the urge to tell anyone the answers before the guide. Some things hadn't been brought up, but I didn't have the courage to ask about them...

This is the real kicker.

We entered a room from the deck and my blood next to froze. I was freaking out. The energy I felt was horrible. I felt fear, terror, panic. Horrible. But the room was pleasantly lit. It was the officers dining room. Well set up, nothing that should have been intimidating. The guide was talking about how the officers ate there and not bringing up anything negative. So why did I feel that way?? The energy seemed the strongest at a particular table. It was a bit different from the others as if it had been built into the area. I saw blood, I heard (or rather felt?) screams and pain. The doors were open and the bullets were still hailing. It was at that point where the guide informed us that during the battles, they would keep the doors open on either side to the deck... When someone was wounded, they would bring them in. If an amputation was needed, they would amputate right there on that table. I felt so sick. I closed myself off and shielded myself, not wanting to see anymore. It was just so horrible...

At the time I had no idea what to think of it. I later decided that it was most likely imprints from the past still being viewable if you tune into the energy. Maybe I had done that?

However, there is a bit more to this story that I want to share. On completely unrelated incidences, I have had dreams out of no where related to this ship, though not directly. In one dream, I was in Pearl Harbor. I knew the area. I had even decided to fly around the island to pick up as many details as I could before waking (it had become lucid). Upon waking, I drew out my understanding of it and consulted maps. It matched with in the around WW2 time. Crazy, right? That same ship had visited Pearl Harbor.

Another dream, I was on Micronesia in the Pacific. Of course, I couldn't consult maps for it, but I looked up images and it seemed similar. That wasn't enough evidence to satisfy me, though. I looked up where that ship had visited and... yeah, it had visited there as well.

I have also had several other dreams where I have picked up myself as a soldier, young, male, different mentality. I did a tarot reading a while ago too and it also pointed towards this, though I don't remember exactly, it was years ago.

It's not often that I think about this, but every so often it comes up. I still really think that I could have seen imprints, but this other stuff makes me wonder. A possible past life? Had memories "rubbed off" on me? Do I just have smack dab good luck at guessing? All very strange and I look forward to hearing other thoughts. I was on that ship over 10 years ago

Welcome to Dreams! / Remembered some dreams
November 16, 2012, 13:57:44
So, after a while of not remembering any interesting dreams,I suddenly remembered a few. I figured I'd share :)

I was going to the church of my childhood, which was strange. I haven't attended in so many years and didn't have the best experiences there. Perhaps there was a priest, but it was the sister that I was paying attention to. She was polite and leading me to my seat. We sang songs and it was nice, but I felt weird. There were other people I knew there. Singing in the church, I was reminded that my co-worker is getting married and I got the idea that I should ask her if she wants me to sing. There were people there that I didn't like very much as well. There was a bit of rivalry present, but nothing over the top. After the service, I left and walked down the road. A bulldog followed me and we walked to another chapel. We never went in, but we both felt kind of intimidated. Leaving the dog, I walked to some sort of dormitory or frat house like thing. It still belonged to the church, and I had to dodge being seen by the clergy. At this point I practically went into ninja assassin mode. Okay, I was not killing the people inside, but for some reason I was supposed to stealthily incapacitate them. One guy I tricked to come outside then I knocked him out. At another point, I sneaked inside and used some sort of insect or something to drug one of them. Then I notified people to come and drug check him. He was taken care of. But one of the guys was someone I hadn't seen or heard from since Elementary School. Really weird, but it was a person I considered one of my only friends at that age. He was older in my dream, but it was still really weird, because I could still tell it was him and recalled him by name. Really weird.

After waking up, I went back to sleep because I woke up sick and continued to have quite a journey.

At first, it began as what usually happen when I fall back to sleep in the morning... Accidentally rolling right out of my body and just kind of wandering around my apartment. This morning was kind of like a clown fish because it was pretty sporadic and didn't last very long each time.

Finally, I found myself somewhere else. I never lost the awareness that I was dreaming, but I seemed to be male, kind of dirty and unkempt, and by a river. I saw a crudely written sign in Chinese. The river was something like "small river" or something. It had a longer name, but I have trouble remembering what I read in dreams. There were other people there. We were traveling down along the river. One person pulled their horse along, into the river and the poor horse nearly had to swim it was so deep. I decided that rather than following the others (since I was lucid dreaming), I would go the other direction. Behind us was a rocky cliff side. I decided that I wanted to know what was up there so I quite literally floated right up. What I saw, still all dirty and in rags, was some sort of futuristic cafe. It was incredibly modern to the point that it was just too much. One of the waiters saw me and came outside where I proceeded to complain to her that this dream shouldn't be connected to some sort of ancient-like dream. It was just too impractical. She kept repeating that I was in no position to be up there or have any say in the matter. Pretty much I just argued with her for a bit, got bored, then went on exploring until I woke up.

So, I have started experimenting with renewed ideas after poking my nose around these threads.

I always have the best luck slipping out of my body in the morning after I wake up. I've never been able to while just relaxing or falling asleep. Today was one such morning where pretty much every time I closed my eyes, I could roll myself out of my body and wander around.

The only problem with these experiences is that it is possible that I am entering them from a dream within a dream since there are usually false awakenings involved. But from what I'm reading it really doesn't matter how you get there. It's all the experience.

So I was laying on my side and once I felt the vibrations I sort of rolled off my bed onto the floor. Usually I hover around like a weirdo, but I was focusing on being able to walk so... it happened! I was very excited to find myself in my room. From the memory, it looked different, but I didn't seem to take notice. My apartment is only two floors, but now it was a very large building (though my room was the same size). I was excited and walked to my desk to see if I could pick a detail to remember so I could compare it with the waking world.

There was so much detail and I interacted with the items with no problem. I grabbed my little cinnabar box (apparently I believed that it was supposed to be there) and for some reason I knew it was filled with cards. I was going to flip the top one and remember it. (I do not have any such box). I was surprised to find it filled with needles. They didn't hurt, but I had to take time pulling the little sharp ends out of my fingers.

I noticed there was another person there with me. A woman. I spoke with her for a bit. I think she was surprised to see me, but I convinced her to go back to bed. Maybe I was in her room? :)

Well, I was still feeling pretty good and I wanted to go outside. But I always wake up when trying to phase through windows or at least wake up soon after. I willed the window to become a sliding glass door and I left that way. Woo!

The street outside my apartment was much bigger, just like the buildings. I walked outside and I saw people being chased by little gray round monster things. I was like "That's weird", but at the same time, I wanted to help the people. I changed forms into my usual form in dreams where I have a pair of dragon-like wings on my back and ran over to help.

Trying to scare the monster off by slashing at them with my claws, they would always be just out of reach. It didn't take me long to realize I couldn't hit them. The monster I was against pulled out a rifle and that was my cue that I should get out of there. Lights flashed on its helmet and I read the word POLICE on it. A cop car filled with the things screeched down the road and I ran.

Taking flight, I flew up to my apartment building. I was trying to cut to the other side, but the police car was too fast. I tried to backtrack, but they fired hoses of some sort of liquid at me. I was able to trick them and start flying to another rooftop, but I woke up.

Too bad, I was curious what would happen!

I still don't know how to classify these experiences. I read a few where people left their bodies and traveled around town to find things different... Is this probably a case like that? Or a dream of me leaving my body? Hmm... whatever it was, it was fun!

I'm still unsure where the line is between dreams and the astral, but considering the content, I'm gonna stick it here and roll with it.

Because I try to be critical with my experiences, it takes a lot for me to believe I am picking up outside information while I'm in the dream world/astral realm. Especially when it comes to learning facts that I didn't already know. This includes possible past lives, which could really be put into its own subject.

I was in a lucid dream a few nights ago... I was at a camp I used to work at doing an activity with the kids or staff. I turned back to my chair and noticed that it was suddenly much larger. It was at that moment I realized that I was suddenly a fox and now I was too short to just plop my butt down in the chair like I had been hoping to do. After an incredibly brief moment of disappointment, I decided I wanted to go somewhere else entirely. I shifted to a new area. I didn't feel like I had moved at all, but just by willing it I was suddenly somewhere else. Imagine the area around fading into a different location. Suddenly curious what the symbolism of fish meant in China (not the character for the word, but when you see a fish decoration up, what it represents), I decided to look it up, not seeing the point of waking up to do it. I read that it meant wealth and specifically I remember "economy" written.

I remembered later in the day and asked. They were surprised I had "guessed" the correct answer. I told them I looked it up in my dream and they were like "wft?!" Haha, it was pretty funny.

I'm assuming that this can be pretty common with projecting and such? But at the same time, I understand the potential for my subconscious to pick up the meaning in my waking life at some point without my conscious knowing. Fascinating regardless.

Welcome to Dreams! / Feeling another presence
October 24, 2012, 01:43:39
I bring this up because while it hasn't happened in a while (It's probably only happened about 5 times total), it was pretty crazy and I haven't been able to come up with an explanation.

There have been times within dreams where it will be perfectly normal then suddenly change. There would be the strong uncomfortable feeling of another presence right behind my head.

Here is an example. I was dreaming having a grand all time. For some reason everyone was singing and dancing musical theater style. Not my usual kind of dream, but hey, I was having a blast. Suddenly, the whole cast stopped mid-note and all stared at me. They all started emitting a high pitched unnatural sound and it felt like my soul was being ripped out of my head. Having sudden complete lucidity, I paid close attention to the sensation. It almost felt like tendrils were brushing against me. My first thought was a ghost or witch. It was a crazy vibration feeling and literally right out of the back of my head. I forced myself to wake up.

Another time it happened, the dream was normal (though no catchy tune). I was in an old house. Someone mentioned a ghost and when I looked at a photograph the people in them started morphing into grotesque creatures. Once again, out of no where, it hit me on the back of the head again. Same vibrations and that crazy sound I can't quite describe. I forced myself awake and I thought I saw an arm coming at me to grab me in my room. Deep down, I knew I was safe, but it was still scary as excrement because I felt like I was in sleep paralysis. A few moments later I realized that it was my own arm that I had raised in front of myself. I hadn't felt it and until the paralysis really wore off, I didn't really have control of it. No no, I was not trying to choke myself, it was just like it was asleep or made out of a marshmallow.

I'm really not prone to such dreams or ideas of witches and ghosts. Quite honestly, I believe myself to be very safe and protected. My theory is that I might be feeling myself. Such as part in/part out of my body. Something triggers and it causes that sensation and the fear arises from the awareness of sleep paralysis. The noise could be related to that noise you sometimes feel when trying to remain awake while falling asleep. That would also explain the vibrations and placement of the sensation to be on the back of my head.

I am incredibly curious if others have experienced something similar and other interpretations of such an event.
