Awesome! So happy for you.  I also had my first OBE after studying William Bulhman's book, Adventures Beyond the Body.  And it did also start with a lucid dream, then coming out of my body with all those vibrations.
Waytago!  Keep up with all the practices, keep those experiences coming. :-)

Yes, "candle staring" is to improve concentration. Concentration, after relaxation, is the most important thing to apply correctly for astral projection.

Most people do not concentrate while going to sleep which is why most people do not have conscious astral projections.
You need to be able to be concentrating upon ONE thing at the precise moment your body goes into sleep mode.
As most people think of a million things (do not concentrate on anything) as they fall asleep and just unconsciously go into dreams...

Go beyond focusing on the "after image" and train yourself to visualize clearly, the candle still burning in your mind's eye. Stare at a candle for about 10 minutes, then lay down and actually ignore the after image, but just visualize the candle flame as vividly as possible.

This trains your concentration. Do this daily!  :-)

I projected this morning.   :-)

This is actually one old technique for lucid dreaming and astral projection. It's called the WBTB Method. (wake back to bed) you can find it at the www.ld4all.com site.

First of all, wake up at least 90 minutes before it is comfortalbe to get up. Like if your body is on a schedule to wake up at 7AM then force yourself to get up at 5:30AM. do some reality checks, walk around your room, and become determined to astral project for at least 10 minutes.

Get back in bed. Your body is probably so relieved that you got back into bed and it can get back to sleep real fast. So go a head and let your body have it's way, but no matter what, stay aware mentaly! This is the most important part. Repeat in you mind with the energy of absolute determination: "I stay aware as I leave my body."

I did this this morning and I saw the dream images start to come, and I started to float up and backwards, It was a beautiful and graceful projection.  :-)

College took my life away too! :-( and gave me insomnia!

That's how it seemed. Well, now I'm not in college, and am working on getting more sleep and having more of a routine.

Good luck with your Method 988224698 to OBE. lol!

seriously though,

It sounds like a good plan.

Hve fun with working on memory. Like, Memory is a certaing muscle that you can work out. The more you excercise memmory, the stronger it gets.

Memorize a nice long poem.
Recite the alphabet backwards untill you can do it fast.
Memorize these #'s : 21744982236, and 9034965103 and 6338942175

Make flash cards and keep testing your memory.

Once you know that poem by heart, once you can recite the alphabet backwards and remember three sets of random groupings of digits,

then your memory will be so much stronger and your confidence of your memory will be so much stronger too. Soon you may have to try to stop yourself from 'showing  off' your memory skills to other people.

This will definently result in you remembering your astral experiences.

IMHO,

This has been happening to me too lately. The stiffness in my legs and wrist and ankles. I have actually just gotten out of bed a while ago to take a break from trying to astral project.

I really think it is related to me not drinking enough waer in the day. I am sure that I have only been drinking about 3 glasses of water a day, which is not even close to enough espeacialy since ai have a very physical job in the late evening.

Do you drink enough water?  When I was astral projecting a lot, I was also having the habit of running a few miles a day and drinking at least 10-15 galsses of water a day.

Also, the stiffness could be a good sign of coming to paralysis. Perhaps it is the mind that worries too much of the body, when you could just relax and soon astral project.

I'll have to take my own advice and drink So much more water throughout the day, and practice more mind stillness meditations.

Take care,

Quote1.When out of body can you make your spirit body visible to people?
2.What is astral combat and astral self-defense?And how does it work?
1:As far as I know and have experienced, you can not make your astral self visible to people who are in physical by your own effort, but if someone is highly sensitive and psychic, they may be able to detect you presence and only see you if they have polyvision.

2: I can answer this super simple only: just pray to the divine to protect you and 'see' a white circle of protection form around you before you astral project.

take care,

Hello,

William Buhlman's book, Beyond the Body was a GIGANTIC help for me seven years ago. Just follwing the techniques worked for me. Later on, I got his CD pack, Music for Out of Body travel which contains 2 cd's: The Power of Seven and Waves of Light.

The music is hypnotic and relaxing, but for some reason, it keeps me awake, and has not helped me astral project. It is just not my stlye, but may help someone else...

I will try to figure out how to up load it here on the site so you can down load it...but I don't how to do that right now. (?)

Anyway, it really is best to just develope your patience and discipline to follow through with the techniques.

That is the best way because you will find that you need patience and discipline to have rewarding astral travel experiences when you actualy get out, so you might as well develope those qualities now so that you can astral project in the first place.

All the Best to you,

~Sheena

My astral memories are as good as my memories of the day that just past.

And truthfully, I sometimes have days, where nothing great happens and I only remember things like, "went to the store, bought some food, rode my bike down the street.. some lady was crazy looking..etc..."

But then I sometimes have days that are memorable, " My old friend spontaneously called me, I found ten bucks in my pocket I thought I'd lost, I had an interview and got hired!, I saw a bird flying around in the super market, there was a car accident right in front of me.. etc."

So, the more aware I am durring the day durring each moment, is the better I will remember the day. And the clearer I am durring the day, and the better I remember it, is the clearer I am in the astral and the better I remember.

Tip:
At the end of the day, write in a journal about everything that happened from when you woke up untill how you are now writing about it. Write how you felt when you woke up and what you did next, how you felt at that, then what you did next, what happened after that...keep recording all events and espeacialy note changes of feelings.

Give your self at least 15 minutes of writing about the day.

This is going to train your subconscious to Have to remember events, and then Want to remember events.

This will quickly carry over into your astral events, feelings, and memories. Even just having a note book by your bedside with the set plan to write down you astral expereinces; this will also prepare and urge your subconscious mind to remember.

This works for me, so I wanted to share it with you.

have fun :-D

zorgblar,

The way you hypnotise yourself is very simple.

I tried my complicated technique last night, and now I think it will better if I just keep it simple!

"I now have a fully conscious out of body experience."

Hello zorgblar

I am curious about how you hypnotise yourself. For me, I mainly use positive affirmations repeatedly verbal and writen that are stated in the present moment, such as, " I Now have a fully conscius out of body experience." and "I am aware that I am in the Astral"

I combine this with imagining this happening.

Sometimes I repeat things in certain ways like this:

1st,I will take as much time as I need to Relax.

2nd, I will pretend that I am a seperate person standing next to me as I say,
-"Sheena... You will consciously Astral Project." (3x)

3rd, with my eyes closed, I will respond out loud:
-"Yes, my name is Sheena, and I will consciously Astral Project."(3x)

4th, very quietly I will say to myself,
"My name is Sheena, and I consciously Astral project"

5th, only internaly I repeat,
"I Now consciously astral project. I Now consciously Astral project. I Now consciously Astral project."

and then I will repeat these steps at least 3 times.

>"I will astral project"< is stating the future which makes me feel that I am on my way to prepare for the experience. And then I lead myself into it happening now.

I feel that it is good to use your name in the hypnosis technique because it is a word that we respond to.

Somtimes I am walking down the street half asleep and hear someone call my name and I get this Jolt feeling that wakes me up more to see who called my name.

bjb 1234 :
QuoteThe teacher teaches rapid inductions, instant inductions and silent inductions to do on people.  But they require confidence and a slight pretalk to your hypnotic victim, i mean subject.

lol ! "hypnotic victim, i mean subject. < that really made me laugh.
well, are you only learning to hypnotise other people, or does this automaticly tie into Self-hypnosis?  am very curious if you have to take different kinds of classes for hypnotising. ?

hypnotist1:
so, are you a professional hypnotist? I have a lot of questions as I am becoming more interested and personaly involved with hypnosis.
I never heard of Sombnamulism, but so far it sounds like something I have experienced, but don't understand it on the intellectual side.

Jacque: What is 3d blackness and Phasing?
I have experienced many different altered states of awarness and have had many out of body experiences, but I am not familiar with these terms. Right now, I am open to all information on hypnosis and anything else that can awaken my psychic perception.

I am so thankful for all this sharing!

yes it is definately progress. If it happens again, I'll try to will myself to think more clearly and be more collected, see if that helps.  I'm glad at least something is happening, means I'm getting closer

Thanks for your reply ;)

Hello soulche,

Yes, that is great progress for it only being 2 weeks of practice. Some people have called it Begginer's Luck, but just keep up all the effort everyday, and hopefully you can become what another some people call A Natural at it. :-)

Please do will yourself to think more clearly and be more collected, it will more than help, it will become the foundation  by which you can astral travel by.

I've been wanting to do this myself.

Right now, I've been only focusing on relaxing my body with self hypnosis, mainly my eyes since I hold so much tension in them, and they always try to 'peek' at the hypnogogic imagery.

I believe it would be possible to simply give yourself a keyword, and be there at some point.

Also, I can't get with those long winded induction techniques.  It need not take more than a minute to achieve hypnosis, or rather, the the state in which hypnotic suggestions can take place, ie, bypassing the critical thinking faculty of the conscious mind.

That's really good that you are using self hypnosis to relax the body. That is #1. Most people say they can't concentrate to astral project, but the more I talk to them, it is really the Relaxing that is the biggest p[roblem. First comes first; you Must know how to relax the body.

A lot of the time, Ihave the determination and the concentration to astral project, buyt know that I need to work on relaxation when only my astral feet slip out of body, but the rest is stuck in the physical head.

Yes, tentions around the eyes. That is a big one. Espeacialy for people who are on the internet a lot. :-P

Tonight, I am so tired from work, so I think I'll keep it simple and just write out an out of body affirmation repeatedly about fifty times. This has worked in the past.

I Now have a fully conscious out of body experience.
I Now have a fully conscious out of body experience.
I Now have a fully conscious out of body experience...

here I go... :-)

My astral projections have mainly been controlled, but lots have been spontaneous, I"ll explain:

The controlled projections are when I use techniques such as staying aware of my physical body, and witnessing it fall asleep all while staying mental aware. The second my body falls asleep, I observe my astral body un-hook from the physical and I will myself up and out.

Another way I have controlled my projections is to become aware in dreaming.(a Lucid Dream) Sometimes the lucid dreaming is spontaneous, but I will consciously use a technique to turn it into a clear astral projection. Such as alowing myself to Know, that if I am Lucid dreaming that I am in a house, then I will just Know that I am in my astral body which is still hovering inside of my physical body, and when I fly up through the roof of this dream house, then I will see that in turn,  I am projecting from the "roof" of my body.

This takes some experience of knowing the differnce between subconscious projections and actual astral objects and landscapes.

The spontaneous projections I have had are actually not too spontaneous because it usualy happens when I am applying tons of effort to astral project, but feel unsuccessful as I may get tired, loose concentration, and fall asleep, and feel the next day that I have failed. But then days later when I am not trying , I have found myself suddenly projecting:  So I say it is spontaneous, but really it is just an unexpected & delayed result from all my previous effort.

I bought a hypnosis mp3 for astral projection, ive played it a few times but to be honest this guy bores the crap out of me!!!!

His induction seems to take foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... i just cant listen to that everyday.

Though, I bet you can and certainly Do listen to Your Own Voice everyday. ~IMO you are better off creating your very own hypnosis recording for astral projection. There can be no better hypnotic voice to your subconscious than your very own!

I would liket to share more on this hypnosis 4 astral projection soon. As for right now, I feel a sleepy wave coming on as I have come home form work in the early afternoon. I good time for an Astral projection practice  :-)

Does anybody here use  self hypnosis for astral Projection?

I have used Self-Hypnosis and have been sucessful with it.  I recorded my own tapes and worked with relaxing myself and hypnotising myself, for a few weeks and had lots of clear astral projections.

This was about 7 years ago when I was serious aobut hypnotising myself.
I am starting to do it again, and I am wondering:

Is it the hypnosis that is really helping me astral project, or is it Concentration, on the hypnosis that is really helping me astral project?

It must be both.

I have always liked to think of my mind and subconscious as a computer that I own and am able to program to function to my liking.

I really like how you explained this.

This is great,

I am going to half to try this tonight.

I was actualy about to post a topic about a purple triangle I see somtimes when I breath and stretch in a certain way, which suddenly causes me to get  close to blacking out and falling down, and then ends with me seeing a purple triangle at my third eye.

So tonight I was wondering about triangles and the relation to astral projection. So it is a great synchronicity to find this "Triangle Method"!

Hello everybody,

I am called Sheena,

I Lucid dreamed and astral projected all the time when I was little. It was not amazing to me because that is just how life was. Until I became concerned with the outside world at 11 I always projected. Then finally at 14 I learned to lucid dream again. at 15 I learned to meditate and at 16 I learned what astral projection was and learned how to make that natural ability come back and was Amazed! I concentrated and worked hard to have crystal clear extraordinary Astral traveling experiences, and I still have to practice so Hard and long to get these experiences as it is not so natural anymore. :-(

Right now, it is still hard for me, but I manage to project a couple of times a month and lucid dream a few times a month, but it is still not like how it was when I was a little happy child who was free to be extremely aware and travle where ever I wished in the astral. I want to dream like i did when I was young.

My energy had been damaged by ugly cold life expereinces and I am working on bringing the love and freedom back which results in Lucid astral travel.

This is my favorite subject, Astral Projection,

I am glad to come to this forum, and hope to learn and share as much as possible about this Spiritualy Enlightening experience.

with kindness,

~Sheena

I have astral projected many times and have practiced lucid dreaming for ten years now.
This is what I know based on my experience:

When we go to sleep, our astral body seperates from the physical all the time, weather you are conscious of it or not.

A Lucid dream is being aware of all the subconscious projections as you are in the astral.
Now, when you can be clear of the subconscious projections, that is when you see what is really there.(a clear astral experience)

To become clear of the subconscious projections, it is good to practice to NOT fall into day dreams as you are awake, but be as aware as possible of your physical surrounds in each moment to moment as you are awake.

One time I was very aware in the astral and was perceiving what was actually there, and I saw my brother walking along looking drunk. He was mumbling and talking outloud to his friends who were not there... I knew that he and I were in the Astral, the difference was that I was clear, but he was involved in his dream (his subconscious projections).

It is just like how you can be awake at work and then you see you co-worker "staring off into space." You say their name and they do not respond. You say thier name again, and again they do not respon. then you wave your hand infront of their face and they jolt a bit, and it is funny, they admit they were Day dreaming.

This is how it is in the Astral: you can be clear and then start dreaming.

like you were clearly flying in your room and then sarted to dream that you could make the clock float.
I hope this made some sense to you!

Keep up with investigating on your own. there is so much to explore and find out for ourselves!

:-)
