I thought I might share an interesting dream experience I just had last night with all of you.

I was in a room when I found myself running towards a door at a very high speed. I thought  "why don't I just run through it" and I proceeded to go head on, half of me knew that I would go through and another half told me that that was impossible. However, I did it and when I got through I continued to run down a corridor outside. It was then that I thought to myself: "I'm dreaming!!" As I continued to run, everything around me started to waver. It's hard to explain, everything started to dissolve. I tried to remain incredibly focused on my surroundings, and although I thought that I held everything together at first, I shortly found myself in another setting. I found myself in a courtyard at night. I began to jump high into the air and slowly float down. It looked as if everything was covered by a layer of diamond powder, if that makes sense. Everything seemed to sparkle. What struck me was how clear and lucid I was. It even occured to me while I was having fun jumping up and down that this might be a projection and I should find my body so that I would remember it. As soon as I headed out of the courtyard, a woman stopped me and then I think I fell into another dream in which I was looking for my body that was being held captive (no doubt created from my previous thought to find my body).

What was interesting was the difference in lucidity between those dreams. After the courtyard dream, I was clearly in another dream. But while I was there, I could have sworn that it was real. Although when I woke up in the morning it seemed a lot less clear and all I can remember was believing that it was real. Does that make sense? Right now I remember feeling how real it was although in comparison to the now, it feels a little less legitimate.

What do you think about this experience? Extremely lucid dream or very hazy OBE?

Hello,

I was just curious on what people's views on the occult were. It seems very intriguing, but I'm hearing about some negative experiences when people become involved in it. What exactly is the occult? From one camp it seems to be the answer to the mysteries of existence, and I believe one of their practices is astral projection. However, from another camp, it sounds as if it is strictly about the use of black magic and the conjuration of the more negative side of the universe that should be avoided at all costs.

How exactly do we fit into all of this? Are we considered occultists because we practice astral projection? I understand that literalist religious groups frown upon such practices and upon the Freemasonry, Rosicrucians, etc... however, what are the more moderate views toward the occult and its secret societies? Can astral projection confirm any of their beliefs (that we know of)?

Basically, is the mystic tradition inherently evil? or does it teach truth and enlightenment? or yet is it a little from column A and a little from column B? [:D]

Has anyone tried the Astral Dynamics Workbook? Any success?

Has anyone heard of the My Big Toe trilogy by Thomas Campbell? (Toe stands for Theory of everything) I'm on the second book and already think it's a wonderful series. Thomas Campbell is one of the earliest scientific pioneers who helped Monroe with his early research. You might like to check it out.

http://www.my-big-toe.com/

Don't let the book descriptions fool you. Campbell is teaching spiritual progress through scientific understanding and whole-heartedly encourages the exploration of all of the universe's(s') dimensions. His goal is to find ultimate truth but emphasises that each person must come up with his own truth. He isn't preaching any of his beliefs here at all, in fact, quite the opposite as he reminds us that it is merely his theory. Anyway, you should check it out. It's a fun read if you're into meta/quantum physics told in a quirky and comical manner.

I was just wondering whether the book Astral Dynamics offers a viable meditation method that can be used independent of energy work. Is that the trance state that he discusses?

Thanks!

Can anyone help clarify the difference between the NEW energy tutorial given online and the one that is included in Astral Dynamics. I think I saw somewhere that you need to consult both sources in order to properly raise your energy levels. I would like to start energy work as soon as possible so it would be a great help if anyone could clarify this.
Thanks!

Anyone who has grown up with pets like dogs and cats can attest that they perceive certain "things" that the majority of people cannot. Any thoughts or experiences that can attest to that? or contradict? Anyone know why they have that ability?

I just received AD a few days ago. I've never done any energy work before, but it sounds like the NEW system works. What is BWGEN by the way?

Thanks!

Ender,

I almost agree with all the laws you put down. I have to completely disagree with the last one. Everyone should have the right to judge as they wish as long as that judgment does not become law. Being a libertarian, I'll have to agree with everything else. I think it could be simplified as:
1)No person has the right to harm or threaten a person or his possessions.
2)A person is only bound by additional rules through his or her own consent. (for example, if we signed a contract that required you to bow down and call me sue for $10, that should be enforced by law)

I strongly believe that everyone has the right to do anything they like with whomever they like (as long as it's consensual and the participants are of consenting age of course), as long as they do not violate the rights of others to be safe in their person and belongings. Liberty under law. That is the path of a true free society.

Hey thanks guys!

Just purchased AD today!! Seems like a hefty book, and I'm looking forward to plunging into it. I was just curious because I wanted to start some energy work and thought maybe that the online version was superfluous to the book, or perhaps there was some info that the book didn't contain that was only available online. What it comes down to is "If I have the book, do I need anything else?"

Thanks again!

I like most people have heard about OBE's. However, I believed that they were extremely rare and only happened to certain people. It wasn't until I started reading the "My Big TOE" trilogy by Thomas Campbell (did some early work with Robert Monroe) did I learn that this stuff was not only common, but relatively accessible to anyone willing to learn. That led me to mysticweb's website among many others, which then prompted me to order their course book.

After a couple of weeks I had confirmation of the validity of the subject as I had a partial split experience during a sleep paralysis episode. Now I'm determined to explore the realm, and I'm happy to announce that first thing tomorrow I'm going to go get Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics book and start a training regimen.

I have their book, which is the same as their online course. It seems like a solid course. Mostly technique and little theory with a focus on the spiritual/mystic/occult side of AP. Here's their website:

http://www.mysticweb.org/

It was due to their exercises that prompted me to have my first unexpected astral experience.

Thanks kromeknight!

I think I need to buy Astral Dynamics too. From what I hear, it's a great book. One thing that's helping me overcome this fear is that these entities are actually out to scare us. They are making an effort to torment us. That makes me a little angry and gives me motivation to show them that they can't push humanity around. It might be different if there were creatures that we accidentally run into occasionally that were inherently terrifying. However, the fact that these being go out of there way to use (from what I hear) hollywood scare tactics takes away some of the edge.

I think it's all about perspective. The next time I'm in a potentially scary situation, I'll think that I'm purposely being scared and that in itself should not be causing fear. From what I hear, the worst most of these negs can do is make sounds and flash images in front of us. What really got me the first time I slightly sensed one was not that I was being frightened necessarily, but the cold hard reality of the matter is what caused me to completely freak out. I'm hoping that goes away with experience. Good luck!

Juventas,

A few days ago, I had my first astral experience. I awoke and found myself in waking paralysis, the first time I have ever experienced anything like it. Before I realized I couldn't move my body, I was watching a woman wonder around the front of my bed. I knew that it was a hallucination somehow and it disappeared quickly. That's when I realized I was fully awake but couldn't move my body. I noticed the distinct sensation of my astral arms lifting up and tried to roll over. I couldn't move however and I quickly descended into a state of utter panic and horror. I think I sensed a presence in the room with me but I'm not sure. It took a few moments to wake my body up.(I also felt a little discomfort in my arms. Anyone know why that happened?)

Similar to you, I felt more disappointed than frightened. Although it was one of the most terrifying experiences I've ever had. I realized that it was only irrational fear. But, just like you, I'm still very very afraid at achieving projection because I'm afraid what I'll meet when I get out of my body, or worse, what will take advantage of my paralysed state.

Don't underestimate the power of fear. I know a lot of people who say there's nothing to worry about since these creatures can't actually harm us physically. Personally, I'd take a little bit of pain over utter terror any day of the week.

The worst part is, I know I have to face my biggest fear eventually if I want to project. Part of me is looking forward to it so that I can just get it over with and move on. But don't worry, you're not the only one scared! Since my experience, I've been going to bed at dawn :)

Good luck to you!
