Anyone read "The Handbook for the New Paradigm"?
3 Volumes have been written and you can read them all on line.So far I have only read the first two, but I highly recommend them.
http://www.futuredynamicadvantage.com/newparadigm/paradigmvol1.html
http://www.futuredynamicadvantage.com/newparadigm/paradigmvol2.html
http://www.futuredynamicadvantage.com/newparadigm/paradigmvol3.html

N.B: A paradigm shift is a change in attitude, none of that weird demon war stuff!

If anyone gets around to reading them let me know what you think, I'm really interested.

Welcome to Dreams! / Whats the difference?
June 15, 2004, 21:22:50
Just a little question for anyone whos around..
Is there any difference between going into a lucid dream from waking and going into an obe from waking?
I understand that dream and obe are at different levels/depths of conciousness, but does the method for inducing each of these differ at all? or Can you pretty much use the same method, but locate yourself at different focus points in your awareness?

Hey my partner had this really weird experience when he was a teenager, umm what do you guys think ?

When he was about 15 he'd gotten home from a party late at night, made himself a snack and was tiptoeing back to his room in the dark hallway of his parents house. He noticed someone coming up the stairs (in the dark) braced himself and then relaxed a little when he saw that it was his friend pete. He called out to his friend who then proceeded without response up the stairs and through the wall on the otherside then dissapeard.

He was quite baffled by this apperition (clearly of his friend pete) and he hurried down the hallway to his room. In the hallway in the darkness he could see like whispy shadows darker than the darkness dancing around the walls and flying past him. He walked through them, put his plate down by his bedroom door and fumbled for the door handle. At the same time he could feel what he thought was laundry hanging from a bar on the ceiling getting in his way. He felt around the whole door but couldn't find the doorhandle, so he went for the light switch. When he turned it on everything was normal and there were no clothes hanging from the bar.

Thats pretty much what happened to him, he told his friend about it when he saw him, but his friend was just as perplexed. They both knew about astral travel at the time, and wondered if Pete had phased accidently without remembering

Pretty weird huh ?

comments questions ideas ?

Your guess is as good as mine.[?]

Ever heard of people who can remember (and apparently verify) previous lives that they have lived?

I heard of this a while ago and have just found this website about it..
http://www.childpastlives.org/
Check out the library on the site, there are some pretty weird articles.

I am aware of the risk this thread has of launching into another reincarnation debate, but for those of you (and I am one) who don't expect to be reincarnating after this life time, do you have any ideas to explain this one?

I'm just curious about others opinions on this phenomena.

cheers,

Welcome to Astral Chat! / psychic body guards
December 20, 2003, 22:26:49
Hi all,
I've been checking out this site for a few days now and I think its fantastic. I can't believe you've created your own astral island!

I've only had a few OBEs to speak of so far, but I have done alot of reading on the topic. One thing that has come up a few times is psychic/astral bodyguards. Monroe wrote of an experience during an obe in the 'here/now' where he was confronted by someone who demanded to know why he wanted to see the president (who happened to be visiting the area at the time). This is just one example I can think of. I was wondering if anyone on the forums has had any similar encounters during thier astral travels??

I know the government has been researching this stuff for years, and I don't think it is too far fetched for them to have astral entities protecting important poeple or information.

Any thoughts on this subject?

I've done a few more excercises, and I've been playing with my Reball alot. I just thought I'd list a few of the things I've tried with it.

During one exercise I wasn't having much luck with getting my body to go to sleep in Focus 10, I started feeling my body temperature drop and I got the chills, I imagined my reball as a ball of sunshine engulfing my body and found it helped emensely.

Near the end of the same exercise I was experiencing a fair bit of pain in my shoulder, I think I was lying funny on it, so I shrunk my reball down to about the size of a basketball and moved it over my shoulder. I felt an almost instant relief which lasted until I finished the hemi-sync and was able to sit up.

I have tried to move my reball away from me, but sofar I haven't had much luck. Expanding it has worked though, and I've been trying to expand it and then relocate my perspective within it.

I think the tools given to you through out the Gateway tapes have a whole lot more potential that what is initially appearant.

I am drawn to it, I see it as the next step in my evolution of self. I want to reconnect with where I came from.. Its kind of like going home after a long and fruitful journey in body. Plus its heaps of fun[8D]
#9
Wow, MajorTom, you're at the same tape as me, thats fantastic![:D]

I'm gonna spend some more time playing with my reball (that was the message I recieved in focus 12), but to answer your question; When I expanded my reball I sort of used both techniques, first I imagined the expanded area, then I pushed my energy into it so that I actually felt the expansion within myself. What sort of experiences have you had with yours?

I've always been a bit of a daydreamer, so I tend towards visualisation anyway, but with the enhanced wave and seagull noises on this tape I couldn't help but see myself on a beach at sunset[^][^] I found Franks origonal post on this thread particularly helpful, though I don't think I've quite got to the shift from imagination to lived in experience yet. I agree with you that it has alot to do with confidence and intention.  When like attracts like, the ability to face your own fears is invaluable.

Something that I've noticed is that while in focus 10 I waver between awareness and dreamstate, but once beyond and into focus 12, I find myself much more able to hold concious awareness. Have you noticed this?
#10
Hey, sorry Serenity, um, I should probably use more generic language [:o)]
but check out this thread: http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12810
hopefully will help clarify things.
Also, this experience happened when my partner was wide awake, like he was seeing a ghost of his best friend, who was alive and in bed at home.

Glad to hear you have similar experiences. What are your experiences with the reball? Similar to as what describe where "body" bounderies are located further away rom the body?

My REBALL is egg shaped and golden in colour, I had difficulty in the initial exercise imagining the fountain of energy pouring from my head to feet, I find it a lot easier to just expand it from my middle outwards. Until recently I've only really been thinking of it as a protective forcefield, and I tend to forget about it once I've "activated" it, unless I feel defensive in which case I'll  re-pop it... But in my last excercise I played with it a little while in F10. I expanded it beyond my room and then beyond my house, thefurther I went the harder I had to focus, and when I stopped focusing it seemed to snap back to its origonal egg shape just around my body. I sense that with more practice I will find it easier to hold a larger perception. Whatever size my reball is, I am still aware of my physical "position", but I've only just started playing around with this tool so pehaps that'll change in time.

I got an idea of what to expect, bbut I try to move ahead very slowly. Sofar I've been able to hold a focus 10 state with two dogs barking in my bed [8D]. That's actually aother thing that differentiates fcus 10 from a hypnagogic state or lower focus levels. If you startle or snap out of the experience very quickly, you probably weren't in focus 10. Similar to your experiences?

Yep, my flat can be really noisey at times, so I definitely share your experiences here.  I find that in focus 10, I am not only relaxed physically, but am also emotionally calm. Kinda like when you've just woken from a really peaceful dream and your still in that serene relaxed state of mind. So any disturbances I easily brush off or make use of (one time I had a fly buzzing around me like a jumbo jet and I made use of the sound and shifted my perception to flying around my room). I waver in and out of awareness quite a bit in focus 10, I figure this is caused by that anoying lifelong habit I have of going to sleep![:)] I have also had the experience of feeling like I'm still awake and thinking that I haven't been successful, only to find that infact I've been in F10 all along.
I tried a focus 12 exercise the other night and my flatmates came home just as I got to focus 10 and started singing horendously in the lounge, I decided that it was too disturbing to get to focus 12 and so I tried to wake up.. I found that I was deeper than I thought and I had to count my self back to C1, to find the energy to fulfill my intent.

quote:

Technically speaking, focus 12 will represent another phase shift further away from the physical, and a greater reduction of phisical stimuli to the extent that one becomes more fully "alligned" with one's non-physical energy or second body. Some contact with space/time (i.e. one's immediate environment) is still possible there with regards to an awareness of one's spatial position in the RTZ if one focuses on it.

Well, I've had my first experience with Focus12 and, as expected, it was much more intense than focus10.  The first exercise in Wave 2 is intro to focus12 and it takes you back and forwarth between F10 and F12. The main difference for me is that my body became well and truly asleep in F12, while it was really just numb in F10.  This allowed me to expand my awareness beyond my body focus perception. Very cool! So I had an experience inside a visualisation, where my main intent was to meet others for guidance or just energy experience. I received guidance and also encountered an entity who seemed somewhat confused and directionless. I didn't really find out much more before the exercise finished and I was back to C1, but it was very encouraging.

Hey Thanks MajorTom, I've been doing wave 1 aswell, and your post has helped confirm alot for me. From my experience, I pretty much agree with all that you've written and its nice to hear that others have had similar experiences with focus 10.
I'm just starting wave 2 now, I'm sooo excited! Have you done much in focus 12 yet? I'd like to hear about it.
Maybe we should start a new thread for Gateway Wave 2 pointers.[:)]

The focus levels are just arbitrary numbers that Robert Monroe created to indicate the distinct levels of conciousness encountered when you move from full waking conciousness through to the astral world.
Like signposts to mark the way as you phase from one to the next.

Bruce Moen has great descriptions of each on his website.
http://afterlife-knowledge.com/1-21.html    (focus 1-21)
http://www.afterlife-knowledge.com/what.html     (focus 22-27)

They do go beyond focus 27, but I really recommend that you read monroes books, they're fantastic!!

Tonite I had a focus 10 experience that is worth sharing.
I had a kind of a success with the card test.

I'm onto the last hemisync of wave 1 in the gateway series: freeflow focus 10. I've been getting a little impatient so tonite when I prepared   myself, I decided that I would try to go beyond focus 10 (mind awake/body asleep) and attempt to get out of my body. I remembered the card test and found my 500 deck next to my bed, so I pulled out a card and, with my eyes closed, turned it face up on my alter before starting my hemisync.
SO, during the exercise I achieved focus 10 without any difficulty and as usual had a hard time keeping myself awake, I tried very hard to get out of my body without much luck (ofcourse I need to continue to focus 12 to do that) so I tried focusing my conciousness on my alter and tried to imagine the card I had placed there.. My initial and imediate thought was "7spades" then I wavered and thought "8", then I changed my mind altogether (as ya do) and thought either a 2 or 3 of a dark suit.
Anyhow, when I came back to full conciousness I forgot to look at the card until just now and its the seven of spades.

Hmmm, so its not really the proof that I was looking for, but perhaps hemisync helps enhance phychic experience.

Blackbox, would you say then, that from the point of view of 4th or 5th density that all your incarnations are happening simultaneously?

Logic:
So I can use the same method, so long as my intentions are different? Thats pretty much what I've always thought too.

Wisp:
Sorry wisp, I'm not sure I understand correctly, do you use different methods to achieve your different types of obe?

Manix:
Thanks for sharing that, my experiences have always been accidental. I've been attemping wake induced obe but I have difficulty staying awake once those images start coming. I'm sure I haven't far to go though.

Thanks everyone[:)]

I can't wait to see that movie!!
I'm sure it'll be hilarious to watch McDonalds on the defense again, Thats one corporation that seems to be dying a slow and painful death. http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/06/13/1087065034025.html?oneclick=true

Theres another movie out called "McLibel", its about the court case in the UK between McDonalds and a couple of activists who were handing out flyers highlighting all the things wrong with McDonalds. Though McD's won the case, it drew so much negative publicity to them that I think they would have regreted ever bringing it to court in the first place.

ooooh! this is an interesting thread.

Depression is so complex, I feel I can't really comment on suicide in terms of morals and ethics.
I do see it as purely a learning experience for the higher self.

But I wanna share a random dream I had the other night, (I'll make it short). This person, (can't remember who) asked me to help them kill themselves, (can't remember why) and my response was "No I can't, I don't believe in death.. because life is an illusion"

Just something I've been thinking about.

Worthwhile research! I shall smile at more sheep[:)][:)][:)]

Yeah my partner had a few dream jumping experiences in his younger days, but this one was more like someone elses dream bleeding into his waking reality. cool eh?

I wonder if the same theory can be applied to moments in time. There are lots of accounts of so called haunted buildings where people see ghosts or apparitions of people from other time periods that always appear in the same place doing the same thing.
Like a ghostly old woman seen wandering down a hallway around the same time every night in an 18th century style gown or something.
Maybe these types of things are just one moment in time bleeding into another.
#22
Okay, so I've come across some other material that could explain what happened here.

When people are sleeping and they are obliviously wandering around in their dream world (somewhere between focus 10 and 21) they can unconciously phase through into other peoples "reality".
Apparently this is not so uncommon and could explain alot of "ghostly" encounters.
Maybe the black swirly stuff he saw on the hallway was a crossover (like a glitch in the matrix)into focus 12 or something.
#23
Thats a really interesting question Narfellus.
I've thought about that recently aswell. I reckon that the earth has a higher self in much the sameway that we as humans do, and I think that the silvery cord that people see when they AP must connect to that higherself. So if we could go back through the silvery cord we could reach our own higherself and likewise if we could somehow connect to the astral body of a tree or a rock we could see a similar silver cord that connects to the earth higher self. (hope I'm making sense)
Ofcourse I haven't yet had a lot of success with getting out of body so this is all theory so far.
Also, some material that I've been reading lately suggests that the earth and the other planets in our solar system are each connected in the same way to our sun.. Anyone ever tried going to the sun?

I posted something on this subject last week, but I think I may have put it in the wrong forum.. ooops[:o)]

Here's a link to a story of a little girl in India (in 1948) who could remember her previous life from infancy. She had convieniently been reborn only a few villages away from her old family, and could verify her claims. http://www.childpastlives.org/swarnlata.htm

That's a really good site if you've got a bit of time on yer hands.
