1  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / Life on: September 20, 2004, 22:10:46
I don't know if anyone remembers me, but I was pretty active on these boards for a while about two years ago. I left to take care of some stuff in my life. Last spring, life dealt me a harsh lesson, and I became rapidly pessimistic. I've finally stopped wadding around in my own thoughts and came to a realization.

I do not know how many people have come to this realization, or how many might someday or if there's anyone who never does. I think many people have, though, because this is an open-minded group of boards. I've heard it often and from many people. I've even heard myself say it, but I never knew what it meant.

Life is short.

It's probably the oldest cliche, and I've spent years thinking of it as such.
But death can come at any time, so what's the point of being miserable now with misguided hope that the future will be happier-when you don't know what will happen until it does. So I'll be happy now, and I'll hopefully be happy in the future.
2  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / Back after a year... on: October 02, 2003, 05:32:48
Hello all

I haven't stopped by the forum in about a year. Can you believe it? I don't know which of the same people from then are still around, and who the new people are, but I can see that site has expanded to fill all sorts of new topics.

About the last time I logged in I had to put my OBE work on hold to focus on some personal issues that came into my life (not to mention my studies). Recently I've been able to work on them some more and this morning I've had a remarkable lucid dream and even went OBE for awhile, and this time I was lucky enough to discover that yes, indeed, I have the ability to rotate and move around (a skill I thought I lacked), but the same negative entity continues to pin me so I can't move. But I can now see it's shadow form clearer and it sometimes talks, though I don't know if that's a good sign or not. Anyway, this lucid dream (my longest yet), the clearness of the entity and my new-found mobility have drawn me back here.

See you all around!

I'm managing to have 1-3 OBEs a week, but I haven't made it far beyond my physical body and when I leave my room I always shift into a dream. But I ran across this experience twice and I wonder if anyone knows more about it.

I awoke and realized I was simi-out of body. For whatever reason I wanted to look at my clock, so I reached for the desk with my awareness hands and grabbed a small square about three inches by three inches. I held it overhead feeling it. It was soft as cork. I accidentily tore it in half while playing with it, and when I turned the light on nothing was there.

The second time I actaully grabbed some sort of astral shadow of the clock. I could see the numbers and my hands holding them, but only the outline of the hands and not the body of the clock. I dropped the clock somewhere and when I turned on the light the clock hadn't moved.

4  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / I'm in trouble... on: November 03, 2002, 23:03:55
On halloween I went to a party and got a little drunk.
However, this was not they happy drunkenness everyone loves. No, this was the aggressive/depressive type of drunkenness. I don't remember much, but I punched a friend, then latter in the evening confessed that I hated his guts. I must have done some other stuff to, and just been an moron in general. I was not myself. Anyway, when I got home that night (someone wisely decided to drive me home...half my friends had already left and the other half wouldn't go near me, and the owner of the house was getting tired of me.)
When I was going to sleep (I live in a collage dorm) some of them loudly knocked on my door. I was in no shape to talk or fight my way out of any situation and was tired, so I just slept while they continued to make noise and gave up. I laid low for the next couple of days. I thought I would wait for the steam to blow over, lay off the booze and try to make up to him. I don't hate him. There's alot of things I don't like about him, yes, but I don't hate him. Today I spoke to one of the few friends from the group at the party and that most of the others were mad and could resort to physical violence the moment they saw me. I'm going to continue to lie low for now, but I can't avoid them forever.
Any ideas on how I can get out of this jam?

5  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / I think I got it! on: October 24, 2002, 19:06:31
I think I went out of body about twenty minutes ago. Here's the entry from my journal:

#5: (HIGHLY POSSIBLE OBE #2) Oct 24 2002, 1:40 pm
After about an hour of a nap trying to hold the hynogenic state as long as possible, I got up, checked the time (1:30) and turned off the music and when back to hypnogenic state. Soon I realized that I was out of body (yeah!). However, I could not move my body. I thought that if I tried to move my muscles, I would wake up, so I concentrated on the thought of moving them. Counldn’t. I could see my room, but my eyes only opened half way. As I focused on the vision I saw a “dweller on the threshold”. It made a lousy ghost sound at stepped over and tried to hold me down. I tried to fight it off, but still could not move. So I thought, “This lousy shadow is supposed to scare me?” and it dissapeared. With that out of the way, I focused on moving, but could only move back and forth withen my body. I though “Forget it. If I can’t move, I’ll just wake up.” I tried to move, and found that I could move my real-time body around, but it was still anchored to my physical. I could not wake up. I began to panic and called out for help, for someone to either help me get moving or wake me up. I lept up and next to the bed, but fell back. I continued to thrash around, tring to wake up when my roomate entered the room and the noise woke me up. Close one.

6  Energy Body and The Chakras / Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / Energy question... on: October 06, 2002, 07:54:33
Okay. For the past couple of days I've been having difficulty getting dramatic results when stimulating the chakras, and I think it may have been due to that fact that on Wendsday or Thursday, I don't remember which, I stimulated them three or four times. Is it possible that they've reached a capacity? Secondary work remains the same, but the energy exchange areas, (esp. feet soles) are about twice as strong. Can any harmful things result from over-stimulation?

7  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Thoughts on OBE dreams on: October 02, 2002, 00:30:12
After having the fourth highly detailed OBE dream sense joining this forum, I think I've made some insights about them.
I wake up in the middle of the night, fell sensations, think "yippie! I'm finaly going out of body!" after a while after I wake up, I realize that while I felt sensations and moved around, It was often in dark, even in the middle of the day and indoors. I had little control, and was vaguely aware of my physical body, could not successfully gain clarity and dileberate movement and large in the room were missing and out of place.
It probably is a form of OBE, but I want one where I have control and seems natural.
Anyway, after noticing a pattern about the last two (lying on stomach, instead of back, like I do for energy work and being pulled backwards 45 degrees), I decided that this is probably my subconsious familarizing myself with what to do. That is, I should lie on my stomach to project and probably expect an Astral Wind episode soon after seperation.
I'm sure that these dreams are probably partail OBEs, but I'm not counting any until I have a fully consious experience.
Thanks for reading.

8  Dreams / Welcome to Dreams! / Anyone heard about this? on: September 29, 2002, 00:29:46
The other day some friends and I had been sitting around when one of them demonstrated a technique on 2 or 3 people where he stood over them, they took 10 quick, deep breaths and held the tenth as long as they could while he pinched their necks at a certain point. They passed out for a few seconds, but claimed that they experienced 30min-2hours worth of dreams, some of which were lucid. I tried it, but something didn't go right.
I'm not sure what it was, but when he pinched my neck I must have paniced or something and had trouble breathing. When he let go, I fell back, but only blacked out less than a second and experienced no dreams, but instead had hickups for a few hours.
Anyone hear of this, and is it safe (should I try again?)

9  Metaphysics / Welcome to Metaphysics! / Dots? on: September 25, 2002, 23:58:33
The other night while doing NEW, somehow my mind brought up an experience I had when I was 7 or 8 years old.
Many years ago, I was sitting in bed looking at a small red dot on the wall. It seemed so out of place, so I kept starting at it. Soon it began to move around, then more of them were spinning around the room. Soon they started coming in all colors and started forming shapes.
Then the strange part happened. They started diving into my skin. They stung. They formed shapes of bullets and arrows and other things as they dived in. I remember clearly some parachutes jump into my arm. It drove me crazy. Closing my eyes did not work. I don't remember how I got them to stop. Maybe I just ignored it. It continued for one or two days then stopped.
Anyway, as I was thinking about it, I saw the dots again. They weren't as bright as they were back then and they did not dive into my skin, but not I am seeing them everywhere the more I think about it. They show up mostly on dark surfaces. I don't see shapes or colors (except when I close my eyes), just movement.
I'm not scared of them (beacuse they are not diving into my skin), but does anyone know what they might be? I've thought of them being some kind of energy or maybe very low-powerd astral wildlife. I'm sure they'll go away if I ignore them, but now I don't want to. I'm too curious now.

10  Dreams / Welcome to Dreams! / LC, OBE, or Astral? on: September 21, 2002, 20:01:26
I need some help figuring the exact form of an experience I had Thursday night. I was in a dream that became lucid, and recognising this fact I decided yet again to try to turn it into an OBE. I turned around and saw a huge cliff for me to jump off and fly up. I did, and this time, unlike other lucid dreams, I decided to keep flying and not just come back down slowly. I looked back at the dream-people I had been traveling with. I invited them to join me, but they just looked at me as if to say "Will you stop fooling around?" I turned back and kept going up and I thought "What was it that AD said about turning a lucid dream into an OBE?" I latter checked that you were supposed to think of your body, wake up and then try to project, but for some reason I thought that you were supposed to look at your hands. (Huh?)
I looked at them, and observed melting hands for the first time. Then I felt myself being pulled both inward and forward, found myself in a feild of black and twilight zone music played. I found myself floating upside down in a dark room. I was disoriented, had trouble seeing and moving. I requested clarity as I used all of my energy to float over to a couch without any cousions. The room came into focus. It was "my" house! ...even though I had never been in this house before (at least in this earthly life), I somehow knew my way around. I had difficulty floating, so I decided to walk. I looked around for one of my room mates (Huh?). I finaly found one in the laundry room. He looked familar, even though I (?) had never seen him before (?). I know people in the physical that are similar in appearance, but they did not look anything like him and did not have anywhere near the same voice.
I decided to talk to him to see if he would notice.
"Hi.' I said.
"Hey." He said. I was confused.
"I thought people couldn't see or hear you in an OBE?"
Anouther room mate (?) entered behind me. Like the first person, he was familar looking but I cannot thing of a name or any connection to the physical, but as different from the first person as any two randomly selected people off the street. The new guy said:
"Yes, if you can remember if you are in an OBE."
Those words were the single strongest words I have ever heard outside of the physical. The shock of them somehow caused me to drift back into a regular dream, of which I remember little.
My question is, was my quasi-OBE just anouther lucid dream (with maybe a powerfull note from my subcounsious thrown in) or has I maybe slipped into the astral?

11  Dreams / Welcome to Dreams! / New Guy's LD on: September 16, 2002, 10:16:49
Okay. A few notes on my experiences and ?s about LDs.
For the past week or so, I've had lucid dreams almost every night. They all become lucid the moment when I face an osticale and realize that I can just fly over it. Then the dream remains lucid and I remember all of it, from about 15 minutes before the "awareness awakining" (as I call it) to when I wake up. Last night, I did not even need to fly for the dream to become lucid. Let's just hope that the world did not end the way it did in the dream.
Anyway, my LD questions:
1) When you are LDing that you are out of body, how 'actually' out of body are you? For example, once I was "dreaming" that I was out of body and later realized it was a dream Also, About a week ago, I felt the onslaught of an OBE and decided to crawl out of body onto the floor, but when I did I found I could not use my legs. I then "fell alseep" on the floor and awoke in my body after an inderminable lenghth of time. There were no entry sensations, so I don't know if I should classify this as an OBE or an OBE themed LD (OBETLD?)
2) How seriously do I take elements from dreams that seem to be advice for running my life?

12  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Hi on: September 16, 2002, 08:39:14
I'm a new user who signed on because I need advice about by OBEs. I've been trying for over a year to attempt one, and, while I have used every technique for OBEs, meditation, energy work, trance state, relaxation, etc, the best I've done was one spontatious OBE that only lasted long enough for me to realize it during a night I went to sleep thinking about OBEs.
I have experienced every sign of an OBE (vibrations, seeing through closed eyelids, etc) except the actual OBE. I'm so adapt at energy work that my feet and legs are stimulated subconsiously whenever I lie on my back. I can hold a trance state indefinatly. For a few weeks two months ago, I was visted almost everynight by an affectionate mystery spirit, and recently I've been having and recording regular lucid dreams. Occasionaly I have psycic encouters.
So all my work is making me a better person spirtualy, or a better spirit personaly.
My main trouble with OBE attempts is that after an hour or so of energy work, trance, meditation, etc, I decided to try to go out of body. But the moment I try...not before, not after...I suddenly lose intrest in the whole thing. I want to (depending on the time of day) either get up and do something or roll over and go to sleep. Everytime I tell myself that I really want to finaly go out of body, and everytime I suddenly lose intrest just as I start.
13  Dreams / Welcome to Dreams! / LDs a Paradise for Perverts? & Future experiments! on: October 02, 2003, 20:50:07
During about half of my lucid dreams I get the urge to run off and have sex with someone, but only rarely do I act on it. When a dream gets lucid there is typicaly to much sort out first, and by the time that happens there is something within the dream that requires my attention as it pertains to waking life. Or I forget that it's lucid.
14  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / View point in dreams on: December 05, 2002, 13:27:42
Most of the time I'm dreaming in 1st person, but third person happens often.

Things get really weird when you change to the perspective of a different person in the dream and are following them in third person.

18  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / I think I got it! on: November 12, 2002, 22:17:07
I projected again today, and I managed to remember to fight of the neg by visualising some sort of this case, I made light come from my hands and when I touched it, it kinda dissolved. My visualisation cleared up immedatly, and while I still had difficulty moving, I could push off furnature and and I got simi-controled flying by visualising rockets on my feet. I tried to go through the door, but couldn't. There's a gap in my memory, and all of a sudden I'm back in an odvious dream that has nothing to do with OBEing except for the fact that I throught about my physical body and went to it.

19  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / I think I got it! on: November 06, 2002, 03:41:07
I managed to get enough control during my most recent projection to make it a few feet...before I ran across that (or a different?) neg again and found myself wrestling with it. I could not overcome it, and was suffering from a mind-split affect, so I just went back into body to sort it out, but it got me thinking...could this neg be responsible for my lack of vision and control in semi-OBEs before, but I only noticed it the last two times?

20  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / I'm in trouble... on: November 04, 2002, 06:09:13
Never mind. I got most of it sorted out. It turns out that most of the guys weren't mad at me, but the one who was maddest the most seemed more enraged than implied, slamming the door on my then pushing me out of the room, even after I said three times that I was willing to talk and the others were trying to calm him down. They assured me that I should stop agonizing over it, which is good. I haven't been able to do any energy work with this on my chest. Sorry for wasting your time.

That reminds me of a recent LD when I realized my ludity in a feild full of people and started floating around. I bumped into this one woman and we instantly started to make out. I woke up just as the fun part began and I'm still kicking myself for letting myself get distracted by the little subconsious tricks of myself. I think this happened beacuse some part of me did not want me having a lucid dream just yet. Sad

23  Dreams / Welcome to Dreams! / Dreamsigns on: October 28, 2002, 02:47:34
In AD Bruce mentions using "reality checking" frequently to help with lucid dreams. If you are used to questioning reality frequently in the physical waking world, you will probably be doing it in dreams. If you remember to check frequently when ever you're at work, it could help.

24  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / I think I got it! on: October 25, 2002, 07:33:22
No, it wasn't like sleep paralis. I was able to move the moment I was intergated back in the physical, but I could move around if I tried (I thought that if I actualy tried to move I would wake up, so I focused on thinking as strongly as possible about the movements, and that did not work. The problem was not the paralis as much as the abilty to slip back into the physical. Now that I think about it, I probably could move around if I actully tried to instead of thinking hard about it.
I'll try again tonight.
