I really like the way you write. Your choice of words and the way you arrange them paints a really pleasant picture.

I'm not sure why i like these lyrics, but i do Tongue

Stina Nordenstam - Alone At Night

To fight the battle between darkness and light
There he is sitting all alone ...
He found the starry sky one night, a secret he will keep

There is a house next to the station
It's not abandoned anymore
You see the lights up at the station
Somebody's living there for sure
No one's ever stayed inside up there till dawn arrives

There was some damage to the spacecraft
So now they're stuck in outer space
Something went wrong down at the lift-off
Two billion miles or more away
"We'll send another capsule
so they may be back in June ... "

He lit a candle from the fireplace
Sat on the floor and watched it breathe
See the Lightkeeper finally found his place
And he won't rise, won't fall asleep

Our lives are lying there before us, awaiting
So many ways to make it right
And still they're all the same to me
These stars all look the same

And still they're all the same to me
These days are all the same

I like it too. It's got a deepness to it, but at the same time the image is quite simple and easy.

I like this, nice lush language, and do i detect a hint of Tool influence in there?
10  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Aliens and ufos on: October 29, 2006, 07:06:27
It's a difficult one. I've recently taken a 2nd interest in aliens, and i can't deny that some of the things i read speak to me on some sort of level, and i often feel a strong emotional response to them (most notably: Bringers of The Dawn, by Barbara Marciniak). However, i'm completely aware of the fact that this response could be part of a desire. A desire to either have an answer to many questions of life, or just a desire to meet these strange creatures. It could also be ego; the idea that these wonderful, enlightened beings would chose us (me) to watch over and help. So i don't regard the idea of aliens with any real merit, but at the same time, i'm not about to forget about the idea. I can surmise almost anything from my reaction towards the idea, but just because one of these ideas may be incredibly far out and crazy, i'm not about to discard it.

With so many stories of abductions and encounters, and so many similarities throughout these experiences, it's hard for me, as an open-minded individual, to not explore the idea to some degree.

As for the what aliens might actually be, or how they may be represented in our scripture and folk-lore, who knows? Our past (and present) is full of mystery and unknowns, and you could attribute the idea of aliens to any of these unknowns. I don't think there's much to be gained from such ideas, at least not based on what we currently 'know'.
11  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / haha on: May 31, 2005, 06:41:30
Wow. It's almost disheartening how ignorant and intolerant people are to exploring life.
I guess all i can say is that i hope this doesn't discourage you in continuing your journey down this road. And i hope your grandmother is more open to things like this. Good luck wink
12  Integral Philosophy / Welcome to Integral Philosophy! / Musical creation theory ( philisophical observation ) on: May 06, 2005, 02:58:39
I think it's important to note there than even when improvising, where you may not consciously be creating sounds influenced by other artists, the ideas from said artists may still be filtering through on some subconscious level.
It's not uncommon for musicians to be playing around on their instruments and fall into a trap of playing a riff or melody they have heard recently from another artists, or something from one of their own compositions.

Having said, sure i think it could be possible that during improvisation one could enter some sort of trance state where they are using their instrument as a conduit for their own feelings or energy from a higher plane somewhere. The way i write music could even suggest that this sometimes does happen when i'm trying to come up with something.

Speaking of music being associated with sleep though, how frustrating is it when you're dreaming and you come up with a really cool solo (for me it's usually solos) or melody or something and then you wake up and you can't remember it! BAH!  evil I'm sure i'm not the only one who gets this Tongue

Music! Listening to or writing music make me happy.
So does sitting outside and reading a book, or playing guitar, or just sitting outside and looking at the trees and stuff.
My cat makes me happy too.
14  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / FEAR on: January 21, 2005, 00:16:49
I think for a lot of people it's not death itself they fear, more the discomfort of the passing process, or probably more likely, the fear of leaving this life behind. The people, the memories etc. After going through so much (in a lot of cases at least) in life, it's not easy to just seemingly let it all go.

I have one thing to say in this thread. Those of you who are saying "this is nonsense and that's that" are just as foolish as those who are saying "there's no doubt about it". To make up your mind about such an event at this stage can be nothing but foolishness.

The "Mind" has nothing to do with it, in fact the mind is very deceiving. Events just happen.  And calling people fools is not polite.

"Even great masters learn from fools" keep that in mind.

  wink

I didn't mean to offend anybody or diminish anybody by saying they may be being foolish, but it's the way i see things and i believe it's far more beneficial to express the truth than to with-hold contribution to something i feel i need to say, polite or not. I'm not calling anybody stupid or anything like that. All i'm saying is that in my view their judgement could be better.
I would have to disagree with your stance on the mind, but that's irrelevent in this topic.
16  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / Renewed enthusiasm on: December 30, 2004, 11:15:29
I haven't posted in here for a while, but due to this christmas just passed i feel ready once again. I'm not exactly sure what happened or why it happened, but i do feel differently as a result of whatever it was. I feel more.... peaceful and slightly more mature and wise. I think perhaps it was the time spent with my family. I usually dread christmas with the family, but this year was fantastic. My eyes were opened to the magic that they provide, thanks particularly to my little second cousin. I have only just started to feel her warmth and happiness. She reminds me that life is beautiful and we are all innocent. I know that sounds all fluffy and cheesy, but it's the truth.
Perhaps the very thing i used to dread (family, especially kids) is the very thing that has allowed me to grow just that little bit more. I still have a lot of growing to do, but i feel this christmas was very important for me. I have a rekindled enthusiasm for spiritual exploration, and a slightly different seat from my last trip.

I understand that people have become uninterested in such prophecies and that their experiences have led them to believe that it's all nonsense, but i just feel it's kind of silly to turn your back. It's fine to lean one way or the other, but to make up your mind with such convictions that you feel certain you'll be laughing at everybody when nothing happens coems across as ignorant to me. I think it's wise to keep an ear out and an eye open. Nobody knows the truth of the matter. Keep that in mind.

My view on the matter is that maybe something will happen, and i wouldn't be surprised if it does, but if it does i'm guessing it will be related to a shift in energy. Not necessarily the entire planet ascending to the 5th dimension or something, but perhaps just a subtle shift in energy that most won't even notice. On the other hand, it could all just be hype. Only time will tell.

20  Energy Body and The Chakras / Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / Anti-Energy on: October 24, 2004, 03:43:46
I think it's an interesting question, and exploration of it would determine its relevance, not vise-versa. People thought the earth was flat and that the theory of it being spherical was irrelevant until exploration was conducted. It seems that this is what this topic is doing, exploring.

As for the topic, i would think that anti-energy would be the same as anti-matter. How it would be born, i have no idea.
21  Spiritual Evolution / Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / What are you doing here? on: October 17, 2004, 07:16:19
I think i'm here for the same basic reason - to learn. I'm not sure if there is anything specific for me to learn, but i am learning none the less. Maybe i need to learn to be open more, and more confident, but then the lack of those things could just be with me because i need them to see something that i otherwise could not. Maybe i'll find out one day Tongue

Excellent job! And it took much less time than i thought it would. Well done all who were involved!

I just have one question - is it possible to implement that most recent posts function with this forum, and if so is there any plan to do it in the future? There are a lot of different boards here, and i don't always have time to search in each and every one for new topics/replies that might interest me. I'm sure some of the others feel the same. It's only minor, and we can make do without it, but i just thought i'd ask.
