Did you like The Village? I have heard a lot of people say they didn't like it, but I thought it was really good.

I plan on it. It looks really good. I didn't realize it was already out. You can see I keep up with things. lol

I don't have a cat but I plan to get one some day. Where I currently live I am not suppose to have any pets.  sad
129  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Personalities! on: July 24, 2006, 19:23:09
Some people do not want to be the center of attention. Some may enjoy being more distant and just observing. We all have different social preferences and at different times. I also think that what we want we put off, so those that may not want to be focused on can send out vibes to be left alone and not get attention whiles those that want it get it.

Of coarse there are those that might be afraid to join in for whatever reason. You said that there are those that just wanted someone to talk to them. Did you make an effort? If we want to change something it only takes effort on our part.

I'd like to state that the Astral Pulse does not recommend any kind of drug use.

Nor do I. Everything you need is within.

132  Spiritual Evolution / Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Re: Possible to "Draw People" that you don't personally know? on: July 23, 2006, 13:46:54
Maybe you should first ask yourself why you want to meet this person. Then maybe you can attract someone who can fullfill what it is that you desire, be it this person or someone else that can do it possibly even better.

I think that being able to step back and be an observer that is not caught up everything, including yourself, gives you a much clearer view. Have you read The Power of Now?

I am sorry to hear of your loss. It is always hard, but it gets better with time.

Maybe it is not any god that is wrong, but maybe it is your preception.
136  Spiritual Evolution / Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Re: is enlightenment possible in todays modern world? on: July 22, 2006, 01:11:52
It seems to me that with all the conveniences of today it would be easier to find enlightenment. If only people would turn off the tv more often.  tongue

Why do people have so much faith in basically the newest religion? How in the hell do they think it's more true than an ancient one?

What religions are new?
139  Spiritual Evolution / Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Re: Animals - killing - karma from the book Our Ultimate Reality on: July 21, 2006, 17:08:25
Thank you, greatoutdoors. I think it fits me much better.  grin

I have not studied the concept of karma very much, but to me it is not about defined marks that get placed on a clipboard for every move you make. It is more about how you are shaped and developed. The experiences clearly shaped you, making you more compassionate and wise. It seems to me that you have already accounted for it.

I just wonder how much is propaganda and politics and how much is fact.

mushrooms are not legal in the US

Few things seem to be any more in the "land of the free".
142  Spiritual Evolution / Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Re: i went to a church on: July 14, 2006, 12:08:52
No, not Church in the Now, but from what I gather, it's pretty much the same thing. CITN may be a worse. They tell their member to give 15% of their income to the church instead of the regular tithing. The pastor and his wife have individual Mercedes. Yet they have TONS of members. The fact that so many people go is more scary than the church itself.

Considering the wide spread materialism in the US I guess we really should not find this surprising. Luckily I do think this is very much in the minority. There is a church in the town I grew up in that took up a whole block down town. This was a small town so it was not like a NYC block, but big for the town. People that went there always talked about the stuff they had and things they did, but I don't recall much talk about spirituality or even religion.

There was a blind man that hiked the Appalachian Trail. I am pretty sure he had his guide dog with him but that is still amazing. I love hiking and being out in the woods, but I have never tried it blind folded.
144  Spiritual Evolution / Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Re: Animals - killing - karma from the book Our Ultimate Reality on: July 13, 2006, 20:27:42
Your intentions were to be helpful. Why worry over something you have no control? It is just as likely that the pet got a good home and was well cared for.

As for the dogs in the woods, you were young and did what you could with your understanding to try to help. You had good intentions. As for the outcome you never know what did happen. Someone may have come along and helped.
145  Metaphysics / Welcome to Metaphysics! / Re: Dogs, what exactly can they see? on: July 13, 2006, 15:34:26
Because I did not really care for that name any more and now with the new forums it is easy to change the name people see. If it is confusing I can change it back. It does not really matter to me.

While I don't claim any one religion, Buddhism has become an interest of mine lately and I am looking to learn more about it.
147  Spiritual Evolution / Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Re: i went to a church on: July 13, 2006, 11:54:28
I've been to many churches in my lifetime. The best have always been the smaller, 100-member churches. It seems many of them have formed from people who were unhappy with the politics of larger churches, where it gets in the way of experience.

My sister and her family go to a LARGE suburban church, and it's the most commercial thing I've ever seen in a church. They have a huge screen in the front, no altar, and they show Jesus commercials while you're waiting for church to start. Every Sunday's service is handed out to them by some organization that supplies the same service to other churches. There's very little preparation on the pastor's part. It's like franchising. Awful, negative vibes in there.

That sounds like the Church of Commercialism. Anyone else see that episode of King of the Hill where Hank and his family went to a church just like that? I thought it was a big joke. I did not really think there were places like that. That is just scary.

149  Spiritual Evolution / Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Re: i went to a church on: July 12, 2006, 20:13:14
I'm not looking for any kind.  I just thought I would do a few walk-ins to the different choices around my area, if for nothing more than to experience it.

I have done that at times, mostly with my parents if they ask. I say go for it. I have seen some very nice and loving places. It was worth if atleast just for that particular experience.
