The obe4u technique I'm doing is where you try to separate for 3 to 5 seconds. Then if you don't separate you then do cycling techniques. The two techniques I'm doing is phantom wiggling and hands visualization. You do each cycling technique for 3 to 5 seconds. If a LD or OBE is reached then that is what doing the cycling techniques are for. The cycling techniques are then done in back to back for the seconds and then done in total for 4 cycles. A cycle is the two techniques done 4 times in total for a total of 40 seconds. If you need additional explanation reply back to this post.

Please explain what you are trying to do and how you are trying to do it in step by step detail. Again, from your posts it doesnt sound like you are understanding how a ramp timer works. Explain in step by step detail exactly what you are doing and then I will advise you on how it defers from my technique. It is difficult to advise you when it seems you may possibly not be understanding the concept of a ramp timer and doing it to its full benefits. Good luck!

Im not referring to Raduga. Im trying to explain how to use a “ramp” timer that gently disturbs your sleep with a single alarm sound to hopefully awaken you enough so you can explore that sleep/wake area of consciousness because that is where ap resides. Rather with Raduga or any other author the point is to experience that area just before you fall asleep or just as you are waking up. A 3-4 hour recording with one or two beep alarms interspersed will slightly jar you from sleep so you can explore that “groggy” state while you are fully conscious. Look for any strange sounds or electroEnergy/vibrational energy sensations. They dont happen all the time Luff. In fact they RARELY happen at all which is why you should familiarize yourself with that “groggy” area of consciousness. Also look for hypnagogic imagery or any images you see in that groggy state. Again-it rarely happens. It may take a month for you to notice anything strange or unfamiliar. Or it may be tonight. Thats why you must remain diligent and continue to familiarize yourself with that groggy state of consciousness. When an alarm does awaken you,  immediately relax as if you were going back asleep then pay attention to any noises or images etc. Let it unfold naturally. You seem to be putting the cart before the horse if you dont mind me saying that. Create a timer that has single beeps that you dont need to turn off yourself. Im not sure you are understanding the concept of the ramp timer.

You play the audio directly from your phones recorder by pressing “play.” Put your phone on “speaker” mode so you can actually hear the alarms. Then you lay your phone close to you while you sleep with the recorder running. Im not sure why this is so difficult to understand Luff.

Why do you need an app when you already have a recorder in your phone? You can easily do this by yourself without getting an app. You can record silence by yourself without getting an app. Record the silence and then edit the recorded silence to install the alarms in the intervals you want. Here is a quick example of a ramp timer. This timer is 60 minutes of silence followed by five minite incremetal alarms which i believe is way to close together but again, get creative with what you think is best for you. You can even use the alarms from this youtube ramp timer as the alarm on your self created ramp timer by recording the sound. Understand? Good luck!

What is your technique for getting out? It sounds like your body isnt quite enough asleep/relaxed and it is close to the “wake” side of the “sleep wake line.” Do you have vibrations or hypnagogia or.....? Be sure to focus solely on relaxing before you actually exit and once out dont try to do so many things at once like visiting friends or “higher self now” etc. Focus solely on the environment you are in as intensely as possible with one intent at a time by examining one thing or utilizing other senses but only one at a time intently. You need a “tape recorder” luff. It is very simple. Its called “voice memos” on the iphone which the app store has a zillion tape recorder apps which im sure google has even more. Or simply buy one of those cheap digital recorders at walmart. The point of the “ramp timer” is to gently rouse you from sleep without blowing you out of bed. If you have 10 alarms set in a four hour period,  five of them most likely wont even wake you up at all because they must be gentle alarms so as to not awaken you fully. But once you do gently rouse from sleep from one of the alarms and become conscious, you MUST then immediatley relax as if you were going back to sleep. It is in that small window that you will sometimes experience enrgy sensations or strange sounds,  which turn into vibrations IF you relax and dont fully awaken. You are trying to stay awake and aware during the theta brainwave state. If you really wanna do this then get creative bro.

As soon as you consciously heard the sound, you should have immediately relaxed as if you were going back to sleep, with the sole thought of relaxing more and more to bring on vibrations. The singular thought/excitation is enough to keep you from actually falling back asleep. You were in the theta brainwave state when you consciously heard the sound and if you awaken even slightly more you will move out of the theta state as you awaken, hence you needing to relax immediately so as to keep you in the theta state. The theta state is where vibrations/energy sensations occur in which you project from. Also-eliminate all fear of the noises being outside of you as if a tornado ready to sweep your wife away. You must fearlessly relax knowing that the sound is solely an inner sensation that precedes vibrations. You can recreate the event you experienced by relaxing as if to go back to sleep each and every time you awaken so it becomes second nature. Then these events will happen more frequently vs. a one time deal. Many people are unable to consciously remain awake during the theta state so they never experience energy sensations, so that is a huge bonus for you in your quest to AP. Be sure to  consciously attempt to recreate this experience by always exploring the sleep/wake line of consciousness by remaining awake as you hover close to the line, every single time you awaken or you will eventually forget to do so and your experiences will once again become random events. You are close to having your mind blown buddy!

It sounds like you are a “natural” DB by seemingly being able to produce vibrational/energy senstaions rather easily. Not many people are able to do so and it is a “gift.” I would recommend you explore initiating those vibrations with a ramp timer and make it a habit to seek them out upon awakening in the a m or any time during the night. Set that intent so it becomes second nature each time you awaken to explore that area of consciousness. Ive also experienced myriad “malevolent” entitys that I assume are attracted to any deep seated fear I may posess so it is vital to fearlessly ignore them or think or say “be gone” and they will be on their merry way! I had this evil little fuckr whos named was “locutus” that manifested due to fear I was unaware I had,  but they have no actual power over you so there is nothing to fear. So again, I hope you fearlessly focus on manifesting your vibrations and it sounds like you are well on your way to many obe adventures. Congratulations dude!

What are you trying to validate? That you essentially become a ghost and roam the physical world during an obe? Most people have that misperception when the term “out of body” is used. Ive never roamed the physical world during an obe yet it has opened my eyes to realities that exist besides the physical world. Many of my obes begin in my “house” which I know for sure isnt really my house. Do we actually create the construct of that experience, given we create our own reality, or does it exist on its own is the better question.

Just a quick reply with something ive had success with Luff AND I have sleep apnea. As far as sleep apnea goes simply lay on your left or right side so your throat doesnt collapse. As far as technique do you have a phone with a voice memos app for voice recordings? Record 4 hours of silence and then edit the recording where one alarm goes off in 20 minute intervals after the first hour or so of silence. You dont want an alarm that blasts you out of bed and fully awakens you that you need to turn off yourself. You want an alarm that gently rouses you from sleep and awakens you so you are slightly aware. Then relax as if going back to sleep and monitor/explore that sleep/wake line for sounds or energy sensations. After the first hour of silence in the recording set several alarms in 20 minute or less intervals so you have seberal chances to awaken at the sleep/wake line because that is where the obe ohenomenon resides. With trial and error you can adjust the volume of the “ramp timer” alarms so they only gently rouse you from sleep. Also-you will need to change the actual sound of the alarms after your mind becomes accustomed to them because it will sleep thru them knce it has.  My ramp timer had several different sounds in each recording and i have several recordings with different incremental alarms so as to switch things up. Ive had much success with this technique but im semi retired so i dont always need to get a solid 8 hrs. sleep either! You must be diligent in doing this so as to familiarise yourself with that area of consciousness. Good luck!

Thats fear based nonsense and if you intend to explore the ap phenomenon you must eliminate all fear. AP/lucid dreaming is a natural human ability that we all have access to. It is up to the individual if they want to explore to do so or not. People have made alot of money by the use of fear through out history but in truth there is nothing ever to fear because you are the captain of your own ship.

Sorry... Not 100% sure what you are asking.

I usually use the Direct Method, For some reason at this point I get good results (sensations) almost 100% of the time. Not full separation (So I think).

When I have used the "WBTB Method" and the "Indirect Method" I find very little success. But I have only been using them on weekend once or twice a week. But the majority is the Direct Method before bed during the week.

Do you wake up during the night? Every time you wake up at night or even if only in the morning when you first wake up, as soon as you can remember, completely relax as if you were going back to sleep with the single thought in your mind “relax to have an obe.” That single thought will keep you from actually falling back asleep. Do this every single time you wake up during the night and/or in the morning. Engrain it in your mind to do so every single time until it becomes second nature. It wont be long til you experience energy sensations or np voices, sounds etc. The key being “totally relax upon first waking” and engraining in your mind” to do so every single time you first awake. Diligence is a must. Good luck. You are on your way!

Are you trying the techniques listed upon waking? Your body is already relaxed and coming out of sleep vs. going into sleep. I highly advise you use your technique whenever you awaken during the night or morning.

I have been having incredible np experiences without actually going ob with this new timer i created. I set the first beep to alert me after an hour then in 15 minute intervals. Ive been practicing hovering for a year now where I either fall asleep or have an experience. But now, even after ive lost interest in the hover my mind seems to be conditioned where it takes over the hovering-unconsciously on its own-for me. Even though im not as fully conscious during the mind take over i am also not fully asleep. Sometime i stay in that state for a couple hours where either energy sensations occur then A
an obe  or i simply lay there with other np experiences happening without full on vibrations. Although if i am able to maintain the state for a couple hours there seems to be a wavy electro type energy that arent full on vibrations. Ive had a few experiences this way that are just as valuable as an obe as far as consciousness exploration goes. Another thing i get is in my jaw while i am full awake. Have you ever heard of that? When we yawn there is a “roar”noise that corresponds with our yawn....right? That roar you hear in your inner ear when you yawn. I get a roar very similar to that when i simply slightly move my jaw left to right even if only i move it one cm i will get a roar type sound. When that happens vibrations occur every nite without fail. Its like that roar sound has something to do with the electro energy, yet i experience the roar while wide awake through out my day. Do you experience that? I also have a couple of other “markers” that are very difficult to explain that i wont get into right now. I was curious if youve ever experienced that energy roar you recieve when simply slightly moving your jaw thru out the day. Ok. Latr!

You state you started worrying which you absolutely shouldnt do. It seems as if your focus kept switching between physical and non physical and i suspect your worrying was re-focusing you into the physical. Your next experience focus on fearlessly and completely relaxing regardless how spooky any sounds or visions may be, simply ignore them. You seem to have been close to a full blown thought responsive obe but your worrying interfered. Set your intent with total fearlessness and relaxation. Its very impressive that you were able to achieve what you did from a conscious meditation state. No joke but were you smoking weed? I had similar experiences in my youthful weed smoking days.

Ive been having great results with my latest technique. I created a ramp timer recording on my iphone. I have one “cooking timer” beep set to go off at :45 minutes then 1 hour then 1:15 etc in 15 minute imcrements after the initial :45 minute first beep-set at half volume speaker mode. Before the first beep at 45 minutes i dont focus on anything and simply hover as close to sleep as possible. If i notice i have hovered for a half hour without falling asleep then i set the beep timer back to zero so i have another 45 minutes to hover before it will begin its 15 minutes increment schedule. The point being if i actually fall asleep before the initial 45 minute beep, when it does beep it will awaken me enough to continue hovering or actually awaken me into energy sensations for an obe. Im noticing the more i practice hovering at the sleep/wake line the more my mind is being conditioned to hover on its own. Its worked great for the past two weeks but will soon falter in which i will use a different technique.

Feeling the need to experience stepping out your body for an obe is a physical world hang up. We as humans learn that to get somewhere we have to experience movement because the laws of time and space dictate this. These laws dont exist in the non physical so you dont need to follow them. Once you have more and more obes the need to experience a visceral separation dissipates.


I disagree with this. I dont have a “pysical world hangup” and i experience the actual exit and shift in consciousness because when you have vibrations there is no other choice. First you are physically conscious, then you get vibrations or energy sensations,  then you experience the actual focus shift of leaving your body or else you would simply be laying upon your physical body. So you experience going ob all the way thru from a fully conscious physical state to the shift in consciousness that the vibrations create, then finally in the np. Thats an incredible  experience in and of itself aside from the actual obe.. Its also different then “becoming conscious in a dream” because you dont experience the actual shift in consciousness or the “astral body” crrawling out of the physical body. Having vibrations has nothing to do with physical world hangups. It seems to be your consciousness “tuning” into the correlating vibrational reality. Sorry if i may have misunderstood you.

Im well aware that both experiences are np Xanth. I was simply curious of the means he was accessing the np. Also-ive found my obes are head and shoulders above LDs or even dreams for that matter as far as “seeming real” goes. Almost to the point that they do seem like different constructs although i dont believe they are. I guess it depends on how focused you are on the experience itself which makes it feel more “real” vs. other experiences. Just my opinion.

OBErs also visit the RTZ, definitely. Many have seen their bodies in bed, me included. It was the physical and not an astral 'vision' or copy or whatever. There's also many validations brought back from the physical that exist (see my signature link).

And this is my point exactly. NDEers seem to actually still be observing what is going on in the REAL physical world, ie as if a ghost would. OBEs never observe what is going on in the real physical world, only a replica. That denotes a huge difference. So how can we be sure that NDEs and OBES are experiencing the same phenomenon? It can easily be said that an obe has simply accessed the dream construct. You cant say the same thing for an NDE because 1. They are observing the real physical world and 2. They are dead. UNLESS.....NDEers only THINK they are observing the “real” physical world but in truth they are only seeing the replica that we observe during obes. Im not convinced they are the same phenomenon.

No, I had a spontaneous OBE 15 years ago.  I never even heard of astral projection or out-of-body experiences until then.

My first 2 LD's using Howell's tapes were very short.  Maybe 5 seconds each. My 3rd one was a bit longer, maybe 20 seconds or so.
I didnt have an LD last night but I was very tired from work, so maybe that played a part??

TIP:  Use the LD subliminal tape 30 minutes before going to sleep, that works the best

So these were LDs where you suddenly became conscious while you were already dreaming vs. an obe where you consciously step into it?
