Don´t play it myself... have this CD though: http://media.fonixmusik.com/produkter/01136_400px.jpg  ...is yours as big as that one? ...some piece of instrument.

I actually had some success with trying to project to this CD (a few tracks with only the Didjeridoo, had 'em on repeat) - almost as if I felt I could move the strong vibrational tunes from the Didjeridoo into my body, making it quicker to reach the vibrational "stage" wherefrom then projection can take place.

Anyhow, I hope you´ll get real good at it... think it would be really nice being able to play this instrument.  ...perhaps you should go out in the desert though whilst practising, if you´re living in a flat - and want to keep it.......

Yep.

Just start a drone and croon under your breath. Kaaa kaaaa like.
Or make any sound that doesn't involve your lips.

I have a cheap one. I can make a few noises, but i can't get the breathing circulation thing down.

Yea, same problems here with the circular breathing. I spoke with the guy who sold it to me and he explained that you have to push the air out with your cheek muscles and breath in quickly through your nose. Not too difficult when your just sitting around, but alot more complicated to do when your playing.

Just incase any of you wanted to see it.........

The pic is way to big to post.

Have youi tried the straw and water method of learning the mechanics?

Take a glass of water and a regular drinking straw. Blow bubbles and keep them going without interruption by using the circular breathing (using cheeks as bellows to allow you to inhale)
Once you have the bubbles going steady do the same on the didj and hey presto!

Also the amount of backpressure affects the difficulty of keeping the drone goings. More is better. Try to find a tension in your lips that still allows them to vibrate but produces a tight sound. You'll nnotice the backpressure increases and the circular breathing becomes easier.

Just purchased one at the local art fair. I have the basics down decently. Any other Diji players in here? If so, any tips on how to make the screaming or animal sounds?
