Well, having to add numbers up on a page that I think is supposed to be fun kinda makes me see red. :)
It got me too. Red Hammer. Oh well, as long as being normal doesn't equate with not being able to get results from one's efforts to get to other focus levels, then I'm okay with that. Ha ha! Just realized that most so-called "normal" people don't usually participate in websites like this. :lol:

I think there must be some subliminal thingy, where certain numbers activate a color or something. hammer would be an obvious choice for tool anyway.
I think it might also have to do with looking at it thru a copmuter screen. I printed it out and brought it to school, and not one person said red hammer... the closest ther was to red hammer was yellow hammer or something.
I think it might be like the whole first color and tool that comes to mind game. they get you answering questions fast so your giving instant results (unless you have to pause to think about it) so when it asks you the fisrt things that some to mind thats what you get. many peoples first number to be choosen when asked is 7. or the fisrt vegetable is a carrot and so on. the math could possibly trigger the color red but I think the most common tool thought of is a hammer.

I knew my Bachelors degree in psychology would come in handy sometime in life. Here is your answer from a guy who spent over $10,000 for a college degree. The reason a vast majority of people pick a red hammer has nothing to do with adding numbers. The adding primes your mind to respond fast to the question. Colors have definite conotations to emotion. Red is associated with masculine, aggressive emotional reflex response. And since hammers are used to pound things and is a physically aggressive act, red begets aggression. As for hammer, it is the most widely recognized tool
and is a simple tool and therefore the brain finds the fastest, most direct path to an answer. The less the brain has to work the more likely the answer. If we didn't have correlation of objects so engrained in our minds over the span of a lifetime we would literally go insane from brain strain. Simplisity is the rule. I hope I didn't completely lose everyone. It is the simplist way I could explain it. Thank God for my $10,000 dollars spent on this question. Oh, by the way, I was normal too. lol

Well, the only time I use tools is when I'm assembling something, and that usually involves screwdrivers. And my power screwdriver happens to have a red handle! :)

I think the answer is in the simplicity as well. I thought of 'red wrench' not because it was the simplest tool, but because i'm involved in linguistic society to some level, so linguistically, wrench is only 1 syllable aka simpler, not to mention its a bit of onomatopoeia with the whole starting with R thing.

Seroiously thats as far as I got. so I was a bit confused about different colour hammers, wondered what you were all on about.
