I went to http://www.e-cadfael.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Avatars.htm and searched their collection of about 700 avatars.
Very best,
I too have had difficulty with this. Your best bet is to find a larger image yuo like and to downsize it yourself. If you want, you can just email it to me as an attachment and I will downsize it and then you can submit it to Adrian.
The avatar at left is a new one. I had to see if I remembered how to do it. The way I did it was to go to http://www.e-cadfael.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Avatars.htm and pick out an avatar. Then I right-clicked on the photo. In the drop-down menu I selected "save picture as", then saved it to the "my pictures" folder (although you can save it to any location you want).
Then I opened up the little box here at the astral pulse for uploading your photo/avatar. In the right portioon of the box I clicked on the "browse" button. Then the "my pictures" folder, then I highlighted the photo by left-clicking on it, then clicked on "open" at the bottom right of the "my pictures" folder box.
The last step saved it to the Astral Pulse (upload) box. Then a few hours later, after the photo was approved, I looked and found it in the "Avatar Legend" section. Then I went to my "Member Profile" and selected it and clicked "submit".
The operating system I use is Windows XP which has a "My Pictures" folder which like a number of other features on XP, is more intuitive than its predecessors. However, I believe saving the photo to another folder, even one you create for the purpose, will do.
Best of luck,
Greetings everyone,
Could I taek this opportinity to remind everyone to please ensure that Avatars are as close to 64x64 pixels as possible. I cannot validate ones that are significantly outside those dimensions - and I see alot - some over ten times that size! The system automatically sizes them, but if they are not more less the right shape or size to start with, the image quality is seriously diminished, and it also affects loading times.
As for sources of Avatars - a google search on Avatars will yield plenty of sites [:)]
With best regards,
Adrian.
Can we delete our already uploaded avatar? If we can't, what will happen if we upload avatar with the same name? Will it be overwritten?
I just want to let everyone know that I've succeeded (I think) in getting one up, a picture of Elvira. Ha Ha! Hope the cleavage does not offend.
my avatar is up!![:)]
Hello,
The avatar of Tisha leaves no doubt [8D] (yeah Tisha, you got a nice one there), but what is your one Bomohwkl? To me it looks like part of a centipede rising up?
The avator is me from the Kirlian perspective. It is the Kirlian image of my thumb.Just a bit unconvetional and look meaningless to other people.
Unconventional ?! It looks like a comb full of hair !!!!
I've tried uploading on 2 different computers and always get redirected to this error....
The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Thoughts?
Now I changed to Buddha.....
I can upload avatars. I was trying to upload *.JPEG files and this would always error. *.JPG and *.GIF work. All I had to do was change the extension.
wut is an avatar[?]
phi,
Your avatar looks great! [:D]
Arc,
an avatar is the little picture that people have at the left of the screen under their name.
Very best,
great avatar site, squeek!
[?] Can anyone recommend a free avatars website? I went to freeavatars.com but none of their pictures would upload to my personal profile. Rats, I'm frustrated. I was kind of hoping for a picture of me looking 20, HA HA HA
